Now, we can imagine it. In the election of 1940, one of the candidates openly runs on the platform of finding a common ground with Hitler and the Axis. Just give him what he wants; Poland, all of Europe, sure. Maybe a half of the Britain too, with a line somewhere by London. We will see what happens next. But now, I bring you the peace. What happens next, can we begin guessing? Divided Britain falls. Without massive American aid, Russia is driven into the frozen Siberia. Japan dominates China and Far East. Massive, unlimited supplies of resources and cannon fodder. Victories in Northern Africa, Sicily: didn't happen. No victories. Perhaps, the States held their own in the Pacific: perhaps. U.S. has no allies. Chose to forget, throw out the memorandums and obligations, like never happened. Next? There's a dominant force in the world now. And slowly, one by one, world begins to fall to it. Conventions? Rules? Which ones, why? We make all conventions and rules now. Here, let's vote. The darkness falls. Probably takes a while to digest the grabs. But then... where would the eyes turn, then? What is still standing, what was the word, "free"? Why should it be standing there, giving impossible hopes, disturbing the "peace"? Hawaii, Puerto Rico, Alaska... Canada... where was the last stand? How did it go? Why prophesies? Who wants to be scared? It didn't happen back then, for a reason. We can know. We can remember. But the time holds no promises to anyone. False, lying promises and excuses had zero value to it. Good that we knew.4 points

Trump supporters think that he will be better for America’s economy… but there’s no reason to believe it. Donald Trump is a confidence man… a con man. He speaks with tremendous confidence about his grandiose plans for making our economy great, but what are the facts? The first facts are that his plans are terrible. His published plans consist of 60% tariffs on all Chinese goods and 10-20% tariffs on all other imprinted goods. So right off the bat, nearly all the goods people buy at Target, Wal-Mart and Amazon go up 20-60%. As do many components of American-made products. There’s nothing strategic in this policy; he isn’t evaluating individual industries and supporting them to success, he’s simply starting an inflationary trade war which will also result in our trading partners implementing retaliatory tariffs on our goods. Second part of his “plan” is to cut taxes for the ultra-rich. So there’s the con: The poor and middle class pay more tax, in the form of tariffs, and the rich get their taxes slashed. And none of this improves our economy. And the con comes from a conman: The convicted conman, who paid out $25 million for defrauding students of his Trump “University,” who lost $489 million in another fraud verdict, and who was convicted of 34 felonies in a third fraud case. THERE’S A PATTERN HERE. This conman inherited $400 million from daddy, and then claimed he built his empire from a mere $1 million. And even that initial $1 million was backed up with $200 million in loan guarantees secured by his daddy. And Trump is wealthy, but is he really a billionaire? I mean… he lives in an apartment on his golf club. That’s like living in a shopping mall. Do real billionaires do that? He has a jet, but it’s a really old plane. It’s impractical to operate, so he finances its operation through campaign donations. WOULD A REAL BILLIONAIRE NEED TO DO THAT? This “billionaire” hawks bibles, trading cards, steaks… he’d sell his wife’s used underwear if he could make a buck. And now, he’s gone IPO with a company that is clearly headed straight for bankruptcy, with less than $100 million in cash and staggering cash losses of up to $300 million in a single quarter against quarterly revenues of less than a million dollars. As a result, his stock price has cratered in six months from $71 down to $12. And from $12, this company is spiraling straight into bankruptcy. These aren’t the workings of a business genius, they’re the workings of a conman and a fraud. And if he wins the Presidency, the U.S. Government will be next in his long string of economic failures. He handed our economy off to Biden in dismal condition, and he’ll put America in even worse condition if he’s elected. Do not vote for this conman.3 points

Really? So when we had the highest unemployment since 1948, that was “fantastic”? When we couldn’t get toilet paper or spaghetti sauce, that was “fantastic”? When the President of the United States couldn’t clearly tell the country what public health measures to take, that was “leadership?” No. Under TRUMP’S FEDERAL GOVERNMENT, we had mask mandates which Trump refused to follow. Not once or twice, at a private party with a few friends, but on stage, on national television. Was he for or against the vaccine? Nobody knows! Cause he couldn’t f-ing say so! America lead the developed nations in highest death rate per million. Great leadership, Trump! We really were number one at Covid.3 points

"OTTAWA — An NDP MP tabled a bill Thursday seeking to change the Criminal Code to criminalize downplaying, denying or condoning the harms of residential schools in Canada. Leah Gazan, who represents Winnipeg Centre, presented her private member’s bill on Monday, less than a week before the country is set to mark the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, meant to honour residential schools survivors and their families." NDP MP tables bill seeking to criminalize residential school 'denialism' (msn.com) These people don't have a clue about basic freedoms. Much of the residential school claims have been false and some of it is purely subjective or speculation. Canadians have a right to their opinions. The NDP should definitely not be in Parliament. They fit more in Cuba or Russia.2 points

Buddy, I'm not going to sit here and pretend that the leftard cultists here are anything but leftard cultists, nor am I going to pretend that they deserve to be called any better. These people have been labelling conservatives and straights and whites as racists, white supremacists, Nazis, extremists, cultists and all sorts of other nasty things for years now. They've supported violent riots, the demonization of police, harassment & threats against conservative politicians, protests at SCJ's houses, forcing healthy youths to take the pseudovax, the gesundheitspass, etc. They've promoted shameless lying whores like E J Caroll as star witnesses & victims while simultaneously discrediting witnesses like Jaunita Broderick who have far more evidence, specifics and corroboration of their accusations. Those people actually ARE leftard cultists, and there's no other equally accurate description of them as a group. I post more than enough evidence to support everything I say, the fact that I accurately describe leftists as I do it need not concern you. If we're busy trading unwanted and unsolicited advice, I'll tell you this: steer clear of the leftist m0r0ns on this site and everyone like them if you want any credibility as a liberal. Honestly, there's a wide open lane for someone to soar miles above the crowd as a sensible, intelligent, polite liberal, and even as a conservative I'll admit that the world really needs people like that, but you can't roll in the muck with mutts like robo, Michael Hardner, Beave, Rebound, Hodad, Chrissy, CrackHo, Black Dog etc and be a credit to liberalism. They're toxic losers and you'll become them if you associate with them, even if it's just an hour a day on the internet: if you lay with dogs, you get fleas.2 points

Trump is pathetically simple to understand: Putin supports Trump and Zelensky does not. Donald Trump clearly has absolutely no morals of any kind. If Putin helps Trump, then Trump likes Putin. Thats the math.2 points

The Vice President is the President of the U.S. Senate and supports the President’s initiatives. A good VP does not have his or her own initiatives or agendas. It’s the job of the VP to support the President, not to upstage him or her. And despite what you knuckleheads keep repeating, Biden’s done an outstanding job of turning our economy around after Trump passed off a stalled, failed economy, just as Obama turned our economy around after Bush left it in a tailspin. Just as FDR resuscitated our economy after Hoover left it in a shambles. Seems to be a pattern… Republicans destroy the economy, and Democrats fix it.2 points

Doesn't this one, today go a tad (quite a tad) further? Did they praise Hitler as "genius" and "savvy" back then? Did they run with and broadcast his "plans" as the solution for the problems of humanity? As said, playing with this thingy always costs, don't dream even for a second that this is "just another political theatrics". And always, it will try to push it, itself a bit further. To where, though? What would be the final destination?2 points

Being President is a full time job, it is the Cheif Executive of the entire Executive Branch, the Commander of our Military Forces with great power and responsibility. He is unfit to be any of that right now. Right this moment. It doesn't matter if it is a day, a week, or half a year (which is what we are talking about here). Nevermind how long he has been this way before now with it being hidden from us. You can't argue about that... you just change the subject to what about Trump. What about Trump? Biden is President right now and is unfit right now. That the administration, including Harris, all know he is unfit and they are ignoring it. You are ignoring. All because you want to win the next election.2 points

What you’ve just stated is merely conspiracy theory. And the simplest counter to it is this: There is zero evidence that the U.S. knew of this attack and no evidence that they could have known. We didn’t have satellites and we sure didn’t have spies with advanced radios. What’s more… the effect of the attack on Pearl Harbor would be the same whether our sailors were prepared or not. If we were locked and loaded and we fully repelled them… they still attacked us and declared war on us. No way we would have said, “Ok Japan, we surrender” just because we’d repelled their invasion. Could your conspiracy theory be true? Of course it could be, but it’s just a factionalized story of make believe.2 points

You are exactly right. The “America First” Republicans were 100% wrong in 1940 and they’re 100% wrong today. Republicans pretend to be the military defense experts, but they were absolutely wrong about WW II, and they did all they could to prevent FDR from preparing for a war he knew was inevitable. To this day, they make up conspiracy theories that the attack on Pearl Harbor was somehow rigged… which is beyond foolish, as if the President of the US conspired with a foreign nation to stage an attack on his own Navy so that the two nations could fight in a brutal war. Clearly, the foolish have a political party made just for themselves.2 points

Out of two unfit candidates, one was forced to abandon his re-election campaign and will transition out of power (peacefully and painlessly) within months. The other is rambling about cats and dogs being eaten, and you're arguing in favor of him being President for the next four years. What political scandal is that? Joe Biden isn't batshit crazy. He's just too old, and nobody wants to see him run again. After 3.75 years in office, I imagine you'd have trouble articulating the dangers of letting him quietly serve out the last few months of his term, or what purpose it serves to force his resignation immediately before the election.2 points

Context my ass! There’s no “context” to telling Ukraine that if Trump is elected, he’s going to force Ukraine to surrender land to Russia. Ukraine already got invaded, surrendered the Crimea, and what happened? Did they get peace? No, they got invaded again. And if they surrender Eastern Ukraine to Russia, they’ll get invaded again. And then another country will get invaded, and another. Republicans used to understand this. Surrendering to a dictator never works. So Trump will waltz in and tell Ukraine he’s going to cut military aid unless they surrender land to Russia. And if they do, Trump will walk around like a show off and pretended he brought peace, when he just negotiated a surrender to a dictator who will inevitably invade again.2 points

That wasn't the chief reason though. He ran on it and he got a majority (I don't like "landslides" that are pretty meaningless in this kind of a system). Anyways, Justin wanted a different reform that would work into his (party's) pocket. And it's true that the duo twin had zero interest and even made some appeals. So the statement in the OP was quite accurate: not a chance of any meaningful change, in the status quo.2 points

Leftards think that "the Trump economy lost a record number of jobs in 2020" 🤣 No real reason, just "Trump's economy failed". I promise I'm not joking. These cultist retards pretend to have completely forgotten about a little thing called covid. The Biden administration even cites the return of those jobs as some kind of "Bidenomics" success. Bottom line: The only metric by which the cultists can find fault with the Trump economy is that "Jobs were lost during the covid lockdowns".1 point

The political system created in the 18th century and for it, runs on a borrowed time: for a while, already. There are no chances, or reasonable prospects for a renewal within it for one simple reason: it does not need it. Whatever happens in the country, it's perfectly fine as it is, no thanks. Talking: for decades, factually, does nothing to bring even minuscule change any closer. In this setting, the democracy will degrade, and decay. And there are no other logical and reasonable paths. So what is proposed is a new political party: the Political Reform party. It's main agenda and plan is the meaningful political change, as much of it as needed, no excuses or superficial causes. Plus competent, pragmatic management fully transparent and accountable to the citizens. It declares its goals outright and maintains them through several election cycles, till citizens could see that it's for real and grant it an opportunity to go ahead with the change. This option is real and very likely, the only one. The default duopoly has zero interest in any meaningful change. And there's no one else, discounting political costume shows. If we begin now, time can be used with good purpose.1 point

You scream your Hunter Biden conspiracies but here is an actual real world example of a presidents son (in law) clearly taking Millions from Saudis for dubious purposes and you’re like “meh no need to look into it”. The right obsessed whether Hunter is qualified to sit on a board of directors so allege crimes must have occurred but you’re not concerned that Kushner isn’t qualified to manage billions of Saudis money Kushner’s firm has made more than ten times than what Hunter’s firm is alleged to have earned yet you can’t even raise an eyebrow Typical right wing hypocrite1 point

I'm glad you talked that out with yourself! I did not criticize merely flying him to the US. I did not complain about his merely criticizing JD Vance, either. However, now that you mention it, it was not a very smart thing for him to do. There is about a 50/50 chance Trump and Vance win, if Zelensky had any politically savvy, he would have avoiding saying anything at all negative about either parties candidates and come up with a much more vague, polished political answer about what Ukraine needs and their desires.1 point

A ton of hot blabber only confirms the theory. Get to the power at all cost, by anything: no principles, no decency left and then? What happens then, in this kind of setting, and with that sort of folk? Naivety, complacency carries no weight with the time. We saw it. We knew. No way we couldn't have known, what it is, and for what it is. No escapes. No excuses, this time.1 point

It’s like everything else with this guy: Donald Trump is a con man. He cons investors into believing that he will make them enormous sums of money, and then his businesses fail and his investors lose their money. The man’s been convicted on 34 felony business fraud felonies AND he lost $25 million in a Trump “University” fraud lawsuit AND he lost over $700 million in another fraud lawsuit. He’s gone bankrupt 7 times and one business after another of his have failed miserably. Of all the businessmen to run America’s economy, Donald Trump is the worst possible choice. Look at his economic “plan”: A 60% tariff on Chinese imports and an enormous tax cut for the ultra-rich. The tariff will make nearly all of the goods bought at Wal-Mart, Target and Amazon cost 60% more, which is clearly inflationary, and the tax cut for the rich will result in bigger deficits and even more inflation. And in retaliation for the tariffs, our global trading parters will enact tariffs of their own, reducing our exports. This confidence man parades around like a peacock pretending to be an economic genius, when his plan makes no sense.1 point

The first comment did nothing but describe what happened and how it makes you feel. Any explanation for why is missing. 🤷♂️ As I mentioned, JD Vance has been openly undermining Zelensky and Ukraine and advocating for "peace" on Putin's terms. You yourself have argued extensively against these sorts of ideas, so it's awkward that you're outraged Zelensky would answer interview questions about him in a negative manner. Perhaps, but I don't have to reconcile the contradiction of being pro-Ukraine while supporting a presidential candidate who openly admires Putin, and whose running mate is advocating for Putin's "peace plans".1 point

He's not Conservative, he's a faux populist. Calling him a Tory is a mislabelling, as that tradition ended when he took the leadership. There's no paternal, royalist nobility here or even a belief that the elite will take care of the peasants. There is him winning and then holding power as far as I can see. But let's see what happens when he wins. From his telling, he'll fire bureaucrats then sell the CBC and we'll all have gold overfilling our pockets...1 point
