  1. Again...SO WHAT ? A "majority of Canadians" also supported the mandatory internment of Japanese-Canadians during WW2. What part of this tyranny by the majority do you not understand ?

  4. To stand in solidarity with those who are being forced to get vaccinated against their will, it's time for the rest of Canadians to boycott the Booster, and all future vaccines until the government respects individual rights. We as protesters, must make it known, that we're boycotting vaccines until the government get rid of these mandates. If people promote a widesprad boycott of Vaccines, prehaps Pfizer and Moderna will convince governments to end these mandates, since they don't want to scare away future customers. If the Majority of Canadians refuse to take vaccines, until individual rights are protected, the power established will see their policies as contradictive. Speak up and tell your friends to start protests that supports boycotting vaccines. We need boycotts against vaccine mandates.

  6. Is Trudeau the most unCanadian Prime Minister ever? 1. Denying people the ability to fly on publicly owned aircraft to visit loved ones. 2. Calling people playing street hockey terrorists 3. Giving money to shady charities 4. Denying people the ability to eat in restaurants 5. Denying people autonomy over their own bodies 6. Attacking Canadian citizens who exercise their right to protest 7. Arresting people for giving essential supplies like food and gasoline. 8. Closing down places of worship. While I'm sure hes proud of how unCanadian he is (seems to care more about globalism than his own people) I'd say he's got to be up there.

  7. Trudeau is a dark narcasist and sociopath. There terrified to show any disagreement or concern. Trudeau fired Jody Wilson-Raybould for a reason. He sent a signal to the rest of his caucus, that if they ever try and second guess him publicly, they will lose their job. He's kind of like Kim Jung I'll. He's trained his groupies to clap for him, even when they know he's spouting off bullshit. Just smile and clap, and you can keep your $250 000 a year job, and six figure pension. When the concervatives reaze illegitament concerns, make sure to smirk at them, and demoralize them. If you don't he might have a problem.

  8. Yesterday there was over a million Covid cases in the US, that we know of. Each day the provinces test new record numbers of Covid cases and we hunker down waiting for the other shoe to fall: a rapid rise in admissions to the ICU’s. Only it hasn’t quite worked out that way. Hospitalizations have risen but the stays are shorter and almost everyone who gets Omicron, representing about 95% of Covid cases, recovers within a week. The ICU’s have lost some capacity but aren’t anywhere near full on average (Ontario with 1100 ICU beds has about 270 in use). The bigger issue causing us to “slow the spread” by putting students back online and adding restrictions is the fact that we’re testing so many people who we’d never know were positive without the tests, people who are asymptomatic or have mild symptoms. Stop testing these people and they’d be working. The health workers administering the useless tests could actually help highly symptomatic patients. The time is here to focus our health care on treating very sick people, and not just people sick from Covid. Let people live normal unmasked lives, seeing people, going out, travelling, and taking care of their many other needs. The vast majority of our vulnerable population is fully vaccinated and has access to boosters. Those who are more vulnerable can take extra precautions. Mask up if you want to. Many people have had Omicron and many more will get it. Eventually just about everyone will and the consequences for our young and vaccinated population are cold or flu-like. We’ll be fine. It’s time to declare Covid-19 endemic and end restrictions.

  15. You’re so wrong. Canada was absolutely founded on enlightenment values, many of them derived from Britain which banned slavery in the Empire in 1832, long before it was banned in the U.S. Read about the Underground Railroad. MacDonald was not a white supremacist. He was a Scott who was representing the overwhelming majority of his population who were of European ancestry. Many Indigenous would very much have appeared “uncivilized” in relation to mainstream society. Your comments are irresponsible and untrue. Learn about Joseph Brant and Tecumseh. Read about the countless progressive changes to laws and policies that unfolded in the British parliament and later the Canadian parliament. You really don’t know how Indigenous were treated or why publicly funded education was considered progressive and still is today. Provide evidence for “horrendous and appalling” system-wide treatment in residential schools. This is why people are clinging to extreme sides. No reasonable discussion based on facts.

It was done also to Black slaves and in the resettlement of Indigenous. This business of requiring digital passports to enjoy basic freedoms, the state-mandated closure of businesses, restrictions on gatherings, and more is breathtaking in its overreach. It is totalitarianism.

  25. If anyone is honest, the riot on January 6th 2021 at the US Capital was very bad for the political class and liberating for half the nation. Should Trump have held that rally? Probably not. But does the nation think the 2020 election was rife with cheating? Yup...to this day irregularities are being uncovered. So Biden gets on TV and reaffirms the battle lines. For a POTUS who said he was gonna unite people...he's failed in magnificent fashion. The Libbies are terrified of Trump or anyone the Globalists can't buy. Anyone who opposes Chinese global dominance. Anyone who stands up to nonsense. "The Big Lie" is that the January 6th riot was an "insurrection" and that the 2020 election was on the up an' up. That election stunk like rotten fish and everyone knows it. Denial of that is both childish and purely political. Out of fear for either Trump...or another.

You've heard this platform from Boris Johnson in Britain, Sleepy Joe Biden in the United States, Trudeau in Canada, New Zealand, the United Nations and other places. What exactly are we building? A society where you cant leave your homes past 10pm like in Quebec? Where you can't sit in a restaurant without injecting a foreign substance into your arm or access public transit or hold a job. Seems like a marriage between government and corporations where if you don't go along with the flavor of the day whether it be the climate change hoax, BLM, face rags, etc. you can't stay employed. 30. We thought the enemy was clearly defined, ideologically opposed and external to us. Yet it’s now becoming increasingly clear- the enemy is within. We carry it. in us. We transport it. And now, with MRNA and DNA technology, the so-called “vaccines” that re-program our cells to produce Corona, we are become it. We fought the enemy, and the enemy was in us. Not just within our bodies, no. But in our hearts, minds, fears, and of course politics. We are, as a society, become the viruse.

  33. What I see as an impending threat is we have a generation coming up who implicitly believe the government and their media outlets, as supreme wisdom from on high. They were born into a world of computers and internet, while I was not. And yet I have a much better sense of context and all-around historical knowledge than they do. The lost of historical knowledge, and ability to think or question authority was fundamental to implementing communism. Under its rule all prior history was re-written to portray the former state as utterly villainous, and criminal. Meanwhile it was THEY, political activists who brought communism who were criminal. Result- an even worse and more criminal society. That's why the government has to be reigned in on their power, and their ability to communicate and broadcast their propaganda has to be limited. Essentially make it illegal.

  35. I wanted to start this thread to have (hopefully) a more sober discussions about what's happening with Trudeau's latest steps and not have it devolve into nonsense. I came across this article today and I think it makes a fair point. Whether you're for or against the Trucker's Protest, I think the Emergencies Act raises a few eyebrows. https://www.theglobeandmail.com/opinion/article-by-invoking-the-emergencies-act-the-feds-go-from-no-action-to-the/ "The federal government’s decision to go from virtually no action to the nuclear option to tackle the convoys that have paralyzed downtown Ottawa and seized control of select border crossings to the United States should come with an explanation. That is not an opinion. The Emergencies Act states that “a declaration of a public order emergency shall specify concisely the state of affairs constituting the emergency,” though no written explanation was produced Monday, when Prime Minister Justin Trudeau announced he was invoking the act for the first time since its creation in 1988, even though provisions under the act came into force immediately." The article goes on to explain how law enforcement did next to nothing about the protestors for weeks and enforced not even basic/obvious bylaw violations, but then all of the sudden the government elects to go for the most extreme tools at its disposal without properly explaining the reasoning behind it. Up until recently the complaints about freedom and liberty were, as far as I'm concerned, just a lot of silliness. With the Emergency Act invoked, Trudeau offers at least some credibility to those complaints and sets a bad precedent. Do I think Trudeau's seizing power and that this is the death of democracy in Canada? Not for a second. I do, however, think he's handling things extremely poorly and we need an explanation forwhy this particular protest couldn't be handled in the same way as others like the G20.

  38. This talk of centrists and moderates is bullshit. We've allowed the Overton window to swing too far to the left in Canada so that we fall into line believing what used to be moderate and center is now what used to be hard left. That's just the media talking though. The talk we hear on the street is nothing like that. The current Canadian political reality is there is a streak running through the centre of Ontario into Quebec. It's bought into the progressive agenda and believes they are the norm. They aren't. They're really interested in convincing the rest of us they are though. They're what keeps giving us Trudeau. They could only manage a minority last time. Can a mild populist swing enough of us who would like a 'true north, strong and free' back to get a majoriity next time? Pierre is no Trump, but yeah, I think so. The hard left that want us to believe they're moderates don't. They tell us Pierre has no chance. Too far right they say. "Right" means radical they insinuate. 'Conservative' is a dirty word is what they'd like to shriek and what you hear under their breath. Pierre is what they fear. Scew em' is what I say.

  39. What low level of support, Can you give a cite? Here's one from me. 46% of Canadians sympathize with trucker convoy Global News, Posted February 11, 2022 An Ipsos poll published Thursday and conducted exclusively for Global News showed that nearly 46 per cent of Canadians say they “may not agree with everything” the trucker convoy says or does, but the frustration of protesters is “legitimate and worthy” of sympathy. This sympathy has risen to 61 per cent particularly among Canadians aged 18 to 34, according to the poll. Looks like pretty good support. it makes sense that Canadians wold feel this way. Turdeau has done nothing to try and calm the situation, only fanned the flames with his dismissive, divisive comments. Canadians are taking note. (see poll)

  44. Our oil and gas sector accounts for approximately 26% of Canada's total, which itself is roughly 1.5% of world emissions. Basic math then says we're looking at about 0.35% of world CO2 emissions. Trudeau will hobble our economy in order and infuriate resource provinces in order to do little more than virtue signal. Notably, world leaders clapped politely, but no one else made a similar offer. Other world oil gas and coal producers are ramping up production as world prices spike, eager to pull in billions and billions of dollars. Trudeau will just borrow more money instead. And if Alberta and/or Saskatchewan wants to separate, well who cares, it's not like they're important anyway since they don't vote Liberal. Canada will impose a hard cap on emissions from the oil and gas sector, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau announced Monday at the COP26 summit in Glasgow. Calling the promise "a major commitment" that should inspire other resource-rich countries to dramatically curb their own emissions, Trudeau said Canada is prepared to limit the growth of one of the country's largest industries to help the world hold the global average temperature increase to 1.5 degrees Celsius. "We'll cap oil and gas sector emissions today and ensure they decrease tomorrow at a pace and scale needed to reach net-zero by 2050," Trudeau said during his two-minute speech in front of other world leaders gathered in Scotland. https://www.cbc.ca/news/politics/trudeau-cop26-cao-oil-and-gas-1.6232639?utm_source=ground.news&utm_medium=referral

  45. The leadership of the CPC is under attack from a group of unrepentant reformers who would rather see the party become an ideological rump like the NDP than actually replace the Grits as government. The reform wing of the party seems determined to avoid forming a government at all costs. If Mr. O'Toole had campaigned in the election the way Senator Batters wanted, Mr. Singh would be the Leader of the official Opposition and Prime Minister Trudeau would have a great majority. The purpose of a political party is to win elections, not force some stupid ideology on unwilling citizens. Senator Batters and her group believe a political party can convince voters to change their views. That is not how elections work. Before an election is called, the intelligent party listens to what voters want and then campaign to provide the voters what they want, not what some silly "base" thinks the voters need. The key is to formulate election platforms into policies that are viable and satisfy the voters desires. The Party leader needs to be someone who has the confidence of the voters. "This is what you want, this is what I can provide."

  47. Yes, I was told here that the Nazi comparison was ridiculous because the accusations against the Jews were racial and not about public health. I knew that was incorrect but I needed to go back to a book I had to confirm. Yes, It was absolutely framed as a public health issue in the beginning. Jews were said to be the carriers and spreaders of Typhoid. The Nazi propaganda machine of media and doctors force-fed the public "evidence" that convinced everyone that typhus was not a public health issue for everyone, only that the Jews were the cause of it all ("pandemic of the unvaccinated", anyone?) For this reason, at the start of the Nazi propaganda, Jews were restricted form everyday life, denied employment, Jewish businesses were blacklisted and it ended in the Kristallnacht. German doctors and public health officials in the Nazi regime helped advance these antisemitic ideas. They did not acknowledge that the German invasion of Poland and the creation of Jewish ghettos were actually responsible for creating typhus epidemics in occupied Poland by imposing hunger, poverty, overcrowding, and unsanitary conditions.3 Instead, German medical professionals published essays claiming that Jewish people’s supposedly “low cultural level” and "uncleanliness" were to blame. The respected status of German physicians helped spread the lie that Jews were responsible for spreading typhus. Concerned only with preserving the health of German personnel, German public health officials in occupied Poland repeatedly urged occupation authorities to isolate Jews further from the rest of the population and deny them access to medicine.4 Their professional medical advice was used to rationalize the creation of Jewish ghettos throughout occupied Poland.5 German occupation authorities used propaganda posters like this one to spread these unfounded justifications for the isolation of Jews from Polish society. Propaganda Poster: “Jews Are Lice: They Cause Typhus” | Experiencing History: Holocaust Sources in Context (ushmm.org) If you don't see the similarities to how the German government, media and doctors divided German society to foment hatred against a group, then you are willfully blind and I fear for our future. Recently, Trudeau was campaigning and angrily called unvaxxed people "THOSE people" who were destroying Canada. Remember when Don Cherry was fired for saying that about a different group because it was divisive? I remember that. Absolutely, our government, media and medical are becoming a propaganda machine that is demonizing one segment of society.

  48. Protests aren't banned; the location where a protest is held is being restricted. "Free speech" isn't being restricted; they can protest elsewhere that is not outside a hospital and has no chance of obstructing someone else's right to access medical care without hindrance. It will continue to not make sense to you as long as you pretend "protests are being banned", and insisting that anyone has the right to say anything they want, anywhere they want, any time they want. Perhaps you should go to an airport and talk about bombing planes as you go through security; when you are detained, you can bleat about how your right to 'free speech' is being attacked.
