He's mistaking his gish gallop of OPINIONS for "evidence." I've heard that the House Republicons believe their "impeachment inquiry" will allow an enforceable subpoena of ALL of Joe's bank records. I guess no one told them that won't be a substitute for probable cause to go on a FISHING EXPEDITION. LMAO2 points

Most democrats will never figure this out, but it's the truth: wokeness can only get you so far. "President Joe Biden has the lowest job approval rating of any chief executive in the past 15 years, a new ABC News/Ipsos poll found. Biden's approval rating is 33%, the lowest since then-President George W. Bush in 2006-2008, ABC News reported. Biden also has a 58% disapproval rating. Such negative approval/disapproval numbers could suggest support of the current House GOP's investigation of Biden's alleged influence peddling and potential impeachment." https://www.newsmax.com/newsfront/president-joe-biden-poll/2024/01/15/id/1149608/ This goes for the neocons, too. Some of you f*ckers look and act just like the woketards; isn't that right, Michelle Softener?1 point

So, it's happening just like the last time: the populace bored with self-absorbed and unproductive elites and stalling social progress, in a firm and solid dead end. A large group in the population is feeling restless and ready for experiments. Including, with sanity. The logic is simple here: if the things that we are being preached and professed as being sane and wise aren't seem to be working for us, then why couldn't we try the opposite? Seriously, what's stopping us? Loudmouth, deep throat populists devoid of any standards and principles down to the absolute zero and then the negatives did and will exist always. They aren't the existential threat, Joe. The paralysis of thought, act, permanent and never changing status quo under great progressive muzak is. That is what's causing it. Watching it unrolling yet again, I'm too bored to preach and appeal. Let's just repeat the obvious lessons from the last, quite disastrous experience. And then, whatever happens, happens. This time, it shouldn't be of any surprise to anybody. This time, we knew. 1. The side of sanity has to come up with a proposition of meaningful positive change and a path to the better future. Not just the words, but to show how and why it can be done. 2. The side of sanity needs to have an energetic and inspiring team to lead it. This is not you Joe, and it doesn't please me to be direct here but despite all the great talking, to a large, very large part of the population you are coming out as old and boring. It's not just the physical issues and the age though it matters too, but you are also an undeniable part of the same status quo, the elites that built and are enjoying it no matter what is happening around. You are not that candidate, Joe. Please, please figure it out and bow out now, graciously. Give way, and pass the torch to the new generation that can and will take up the fight. This would be the best decision you can still make for the future. If you bow out, in either outcome, you can respect yourself. But if it's lost only due to your old-age obstinacy it may end up in a disaster that you would have created almost single-handedly. 3. The side of sanity needs to be united, but not around a face; not even throwing all kind of stuff at the opponent that will be easily deflected by a mob that decided that there's no difference between a word and a fact; unite in showing the sane, meaningful alternative to the insanity. Left-wing illusions, demands of unreasonable and outright impossible will result only in a division, apathy and a catastrophe: just like the last time. If you couldn't figure that one small piece out, you will probably lose. The future is not guaranteed. The talking game will not go on forever. 4. A way has to be found to reform the binary political system. Unwinding for decades, it has spawned the ultimate, incurable division and if unchanged every new low will be breached in the ever-accelerating race to the bottom. It will not end well: there are no good paths out of it. And the last, though possibly the most important one: there are no excuses for giving in to insanity. It cannot be explained, rationalized or excused: simply does not exist and the history has told us that very clearly. In the times and situations like this, the choice is between one's integrity and sanity; and giving in to the crowd going mad. One cannot have both, but one can step aside and retain their self, integrity and principles. Anything, every and any tale and excuse you are telling yourself to avoid that choice are false and will be proven wrong. No system is made to last forever. There will always be the first time.1 point

so, there is some grand conspiracy? this is the sort of thing that you believe... in grand conspiracies. one involving tens of thousands of individuals. all winking at each other and are very good at making sure that the entire conspiracy involving, all health workers, doctors, public and private research organizations, national and international health organizations are able to communicate on how this will all go down without one person leaking the plan. since i have a background in statistics i'm always preaching that statistics should be mandatory in public school. because numbers don't lie and when some guy who sits in a chair somewhere and does his own "research" on pathology... and decides he gets it, where thousands of people who have been doing this their whole life don't get it. that ridiculous. and yet, you're not going to complain when you get rushed to the hospital and everyone in the operating room is wearing a mask. and isn't coughing on your open wounds. and washing their hands.1 point

and you honestly think that if I call someone out on a forum like this, that they will genuinely change their ways? If so, you are hysterical. And you think that your long winded diatribes are read by more than 10 or 15 folks who have already made up their minds? Again, if so.. you are funny. I had a phone call with someone that lasted two hours and they just kept repeating themselves that the reason that their unemployment insurance claim was denied was that they voted for Trump. Believe it or not.. it was because they misspelled their own name and the legal name of the employer. Nothing I could say was going to change his mind. So I just put the phone on mute and went to work. After 2.5 hours.. he finally just hung up. He eventually filed an appeal and went in front of the board, his diatribe was the same. When asked why he spelled the name "Robert" in the following way, "Robrt".. he stammered and was furious. He kept going on and on about how we were conspiring against him. I find most internet forum posters to be exactly like this gentleman.1 point

Iowa treated trump like he was an incumbent president. That's exactly what the numbers look like. People in Iowa very obviously feel like he did win the last election and see him as a president seeking another term. The numbers line up perfectly for that kind of perception. I'm not saying that they're confused that he actually IS the current president, but they very clearly see him in that same light as if he were If other states see him the same way he has won this 100 percent. Incumbents get renominated and that's that. Turn out was low, he swept almost all the classes and groups, he won by an overwhelming number, in people's minds hes' already the nominee. If he wins the next one which is Haley's home field then i'd say it's completely over and trump is the nominee and now it'll just be about what strategy biden and trump are going to have. And trump will spend the rest of the nomination process stumping for the election which will give him a bit of an edge over biden in that respect.1 point

It's an important topic, io. Fifteen years ago people with different political affiliations could speak to each other, but that's no longer the case. The BS narrative that "All conservatives are "[name any pejorative]s" is the main reason for that. Pretty much everyone in NA would be assumed to be putting their country ahead of their political affiliation 15 years ago, but it's unlikely that the majority of leftists are primarily loyalty to Canada/USA, and many of them clearly pander to our geopolitical rivals, or even enemies. Lying used to be frowned upon - there used to be actual shame associated with it - but leftists have gone full-Goebbels. They consider it their duty to lie and they are psychotic in that regard. As a result of all ^that^, the leftist tent is shrinking right now, as more and more minorities, college-educated people, women, etc, are finding it harder and harder to stay onboard. They're either drifting into 'voter apathy' territory or completely swapping sides. The holdovers are either just there because they haven't been paying attention, they're too proud to admit that they were wrong, or they're actual cultists. Find me a person who still supports all the damage from the BLM riots, the forced vaxing of young adults/firing of the unvaxed, etc, and I'll show you a pure cultist. I'm not sure where we go from here. I dunno if democracy in the US can be salvaged right now... One party controls the MSM, most of the judiciary, plus they have the FBI in their pocket... What more does it take? Leftists here applauded vax-fascism. They didn't blink when Zelensky banned opposition parties and assumed total control of the media. What percent of leftists in the US would object to Biden swapping out 2 SCJ's, cancelling Trump, and shutting down Fox News? The FBI can get rid of a couple SCJ's on false pretences and leftists will support it 100%. Fox News? Easy pickings. They'll celebrate it. They're already cheering on the crap against Trump - they just want blood and they don't care how illegitimate a conviction against him would be. It's scary how close we are to seeing the US become a fully authoritarian state.1 point

Ah, a "student of history" I see. You're talking about that wonderfully myopic faction in the US that tried to ignore naked aggression and pretend they were just "regional problems", as they predictably became continent spanning problems and then global problems, all the way up until they rolled on to their doorstep. 🙄 Yeah big-brain Putin faceplanted his peasant army into an impoverished nation 1/4 of Russia's population, in an invasion that was expected to take a few week, that has now gone 2 years and for which he has almost nothing to show. There are no other demoncratic appointed prosecutors going after other Republicans because the demoncrats have nothing to fear from the other Republicans, they just fear Trump. The demoncrats do fear Trump because if he becomes the next President, those demoncrats will be running as fast as they can, like the dogs that they are, because Trump is going after their useless communist asses and will nail their arse holes to the nearest lamp posts. Well duh, duh-duh. Criminals do get prosecuted if they have committed a criminal act, but they first must be found guilty. Trump will never be found guilty of anything because he has not committed any criminal act. The ones that will get prosecuted are the ones that have been trying to nail Trump on any of their trumped up fake and phony charges. Bidumb also had classified documents in his garage and were sitting there right by the garage door waiting there for anyone to grab and look at them. But Bidumb never got charged for that crime. At least Trump kept the documents he had in his possession in a secure location. Has Trump been charged re: those documents yet? NOPE, bimbo. Gawd, what is making you continue to appear to be so bloody stoopid? You need to stop listening to CNN or NSNBC. They keep messing with your pea brain sized head. You are truly amazing, but not in a good way. 🤣 Again, what serious criminal charges is Trump being charged with? Well, know nothing? 😁1 point

I guess if you like Hells Kitchen then fine. I do not particularly care of the show nor political drama. So the 19th repetition of the same lame show... not going to hold my interest. I loathe the last two months of the election cycle. In a fantasy world, every time someone attempted to call me for political purposes.. they would get electrocuted for 5 seconds. Pamphlets at the door or in the mailbox would earn you two lashes. Again, its fantasy but I think that you get the point.1 point

I've said many years ago when the Democrats were open to welcoming far left democratic socialists into the party that they would eventually take control (which they are well on their way of doing). That's not the point. Disney made the mermaid black simply to show how "progressive" they are. They thought that shit would sell and they were wrong. If they were really progressive the could have searched for a black author or story teller who had an original idea and could have made that story into a Disney classic. Instead they just slapped black face in the little mermaid and thought people would just buy it.1 point

a. Around 50% of the increase in inflation observed since the end of 2019 can be ascribed to global or foreign factors. These include US inflation, commodity prices and movements in the exchange rate. b. Supply challenges that largely reflect developments at the global level account for another 35% of the rise in inflation. https://www.scotiabank.com/ca/en/about/economics/economics-publications/post.other-publications.inflation-reports.causes-of-inflation--december-5--2022.html1 point

You DID TRY. Duh It means vaccines INCREASE your RESISTANCE to infection. Google says "vaccine" very commonly is used to refer to flu shots. You STILL don't understand the difference between virus vaccines and bacterial vaccines. I guess you never will cause you've been told many times and you STILL don't get it. Safe means a very SMALL PERCENTAGE of dangerous side effects. AKA statistically a much greater chance of living than dying from COVID. Like a million times greater. They're NOT banned, DUMMY. Covid-19: Sweden, Norway, and Finland suspend use of Moderna vaccine in young people “as a precaution” Last I heard, there were less than 10 instances. AKA very rare. It's very safe. You keep comparing COVID virus vaccines with OLDER bacterial vaccines. Of course, you never specified what you're talking about, but I can deduce that from your references. I didn't say they don't work. That's YOUR SCHTICK. The FACT is, they are weaker against NEW VARIANTS for which they've NOT BEEN TESTED. They most certainly are. And the fact that you don't recognize that is why you keep drawing erroneous conclusions. The mechanisms affect the statistics profoundly. YOU look really RETARDED when you write like a child. Unless a LOT of your population is really reckless, and like you didn't get vaxxed. People who run around in public with full blown COVID can infect a LOT MORE PEOPLE. The US had 1 MILLION excess deaths from COVID during the pandemic. According to the graph in the Goddess thread (you were shown), death rates across the world were inversely proportional to the percent of vaxxed in the nations. Of course Goddess being like you, misinterpreted the graph and drew the OPPOSITE conclusion.1 point

I said at least six years ago that if the Democrats wanted to crush Trump all they had to do was find a strong-seeming ex-military candidate with moderate views. An ex-general or admiral. Preferably white. Trump would have lost so badly last time around he wouldn't even bother complaining and wouldn't have come back this time around. Just about any such candidate would kick Trump's ass. The problem is the Democrats have Biden, and just about any Republican candidate not named Trump would kick HIS ass. In terms of federal policy, the only thing really hurting Biden is his inability to control their borders. But Trump couldn't control them either. It's an ongoing issue and the numbers are driven by the conditions down south and the information being passed around about American tolerance at the border. The US ratified the same treaties Canada did about those claiming asylum, though, so unless they're willing to change those laws, and neither party has voiced any interest in doing so, they have to let them in and give them hearings. It would be a real shame for the US and its allies, not to mention democracy, if a raging incompetent dementia case like Trump gets elected - again. But there's a good chance that will happen, mostly due to the hatred so many have for these identity politics policies. As for Canadians who like Trump, I can only assume they do so out of hatred for those same policies and utter ignorance about the man and his behaviour while in office.1 point

The President has no control over Congress’ discretionary spending. He’s either lying or ignorant if he thinks the President has that level of control. (PS — The more they promise to cut spending, the more they increase spending. Odd, but true. Reagan, Bush and Trump all talked about balanced budget and spending cuts, and those three increased spending and deficit spending by the greatest rates.)1 point

I think the bigger issue beyond paying is that there could be a tendency to use MAID as an alternative to our absolutely shit health care system. That, and now moving to grant permission for self-euthanasia for people who are depressed make it all too 'convenient' to offer people suicide instead of meaningful care. I read that other countries who are considering implementing MAID are now looking to Canada, and in their debates point to Canada as "how not to do it" for this very reason.1 point

I don’t pretend to know the ways of God, but I do know some scripture. You’re obviously quite ignorant of scripture. Christ was a Jew among Jews, including friends and family. You should perhaps distinguish between different groups such as the Pharisees or Saducees or Samaritans. The New Testament was yet another liberation story of the Jews from oppressors, in this case the Romans, angry mobs, and certain letter of the law Jews rather than spirit of the law Jews. Paul was a Roman soldier gentile who converted. The Bible has many stories. It’s complex. For everything a season. Read Psalms. I would suggest that the important takeaway is to understand that when you assume the power of life and death over others, you are trying to play God and interfere with nature. There are countless stories about the folly of this, from Frankenstein to Faust to the Tower of Babel. There are some things we shouldn’t meddle with. To put it another way, if you wish to take your own life, that’s your choice. Others shouldn’t be brought into it or it’s no longer suicide, which itself is a sin. Helping to kill somebody is being complicit in killing. Thou shalt not kill. Suicide is wrong because despair is a sin and life is sacred. One must have hope. This is old wisdom. You can think you know better than ancient wisdom. Also understand that even if someone does something that’s objectively wrong, I’m in no position to judge the sinner. No person knows what’s in someone’s heart. You’re not in that person’s shoes. Some people suffer severe depression or pain. There are chemical imbalances. I think suicide is wrong and so does my faith, but I don’t judge people who commit suicide. I certainly think there’s self contradiction in the term medically assisted suicide, because medicine is supposed to be about healing, not killing, according to the Hippocratic Oath. Be careful about making light of the state being involved in killing as a form of medicine. There is much that can be done to alleviate suffering without resorting to killing. I think MAID is an indication of failed healthcare. It undervalues human life. That’s how much of the developed world sees Canadian MAID. British medical ethicists cite Canada’s MAID as a cautionary tale. The numbers of assisted suicides in Canada is in the tens of thousands per year and rising, but that’s Canada today. We throw free hard drugs at a growing epidemic of fentanyl deaths instead of treating people. It’s another cop out that cheapens human life.1 point

The only thing I can think of is that this is some cynical ploy to stack the elections for the Liberals, with their assuming that immigrants are less likely to vote Conservative. There was never a good economic argument for upping the limit and plenty of evidence why it could be bad (especially with housing shortages and inflation spiking), and still with opinions souring more and more, Trudeau just plows ahead. This is an election-losing issue all by itself, and I think it's only going to get worse for the Liberals here. The policy has no future, Canadians obviously don't want it, so why else keep it?1 point

California has a massive agriculture industry. Unlike most other states, California mostly doesn’t have fields of wheat, barley, corn, sorghum, and so forth. Instead, California grows grapes, almonds, cherries, oranges, asparagus, artichokes, and strawberries. These crops must be planted, maintained, and harvested by hand. Since the inception of this industry over 100 years ago, the work has been done by migrant workers. So here’s the deal: If they don’t have adequate health care, they’ll spread diseases into the food supply.1 point

I hope I am wrong, but I get the sense a significant proportion of voters are irrational. Of course, that is likely due to the amount of time I spend on political forums. I see a lot of posts from Americans who say they don't care about President Trump's faults. They hate their government. It is not just their elected government. They are mad at the people who actually make the government run, the people who provide the services they need. They call it the "Deep State, the "elites," the "globalists." The truth is, they don't know who they are angry with. They are just angry. They want someone to burn it all down. Trump will win because people who should know better, will hold their noses and vote for him. He is the person who will stop illegal immigration. Deep down they know he can't, but they will vote for him anyway because he repeats the lies they tell themselves.1 point
