I don't like a lot of things governments do but I believe in democracy where governments are elected, not dictated by mobs. Let's take stock. We have a bunch of angry people who have taken over downtown Ottawa for two weeks, many with their kids, and other groups blocking borders and bridges and what has happened to them. NOTHING! Yet you have the absolute gall to compare them with Europe's Jews of the 30's and 40's. You also have the gall to claim you are doing it for our own good, completely ignoring the rights and freedoms of the people who live and have business's in those places or rely on those borders to get the goods they need to run their lives and business or get their goods to market. All because a small minority of truckers don't want to get vaccinated and a bunch of stupid children who think they are some kind of heroes.

No it doesn't. The best and most glorious thing about the Courts is that they operate on common sense and reason, which is something that's in short-supply with your arguments. When an issue is pressing and important enough, it jumps the queue, because it must be seen quickly to be relevant. There have already been multiple lawsuits like Brian Peckford's against COVID-19 rules that have failed in the Courts. We therefore not only have legal precedence that has supported such measures, we also have rock-solid proof that it doesn't take 4-5 years to see cases against them. Congratulations. A thread topic to discuss the political discourse in this country. The things that I find most bizarre about current political discourse: 1. Values such as control over your own body are now called "far right fringe". This was a mainstream, one could even argue liberal idea not long ago. 2. Protests against left wing politicians are now considered "treasonous", "insurrection" etc. While protests such as BLM which caused 1-2 billion dollars in damages are often praised. 3. Foreign influence by players in the World Economic Forum, the United Nations etc on Canadian policy are considered necessary but a $10 donation from an American toward a Canadian generated protest are called "foreign influence". 4. If you are a white person you are automatically a racist xenophobe but racist rhetoric from others is not only encouraged but necessary Seems the discourse is generated by the powerful to protect the powerful.

Parts flow both ways across the border. American auto workers are getting laid off as well. You guys either have no clue of the damage you are causing or just don't care. Seems that local, provincial, and federal governments had zero planning for such a conflict and don't know what to do for fear of making the impasse even worse. Supporters are defying police by carrying water and fuel to the protesters. Blockages are spreading to other choke points.

Leftists love protests when they include arson and looting. They can even include assaults and murders of civilians and still be considered 'mostly peaceful' if they just include those two things. Without arson and looting though, according to the leftist dictionary; any protest, no matter how peaceful, is called an insurrection. They also use the word sedition in a new way. Leftists call angry mobs seditious, while the rest of us consider sedition to be the act of convincing other people to attack the government. It's not actually new for the definition of words to change to match the way that they're used in society at large, and the fact that 50% of the people use those words incorrectly now just means that the definitions will eventually change to include the leftists' current misusage of them.
