  1. freedom of speech is more important than some nurses and doctors being more stressed for nonsensical reasons speech not being "respectful" is not grounds to ban it some people being uncomfortable with speech is not grounds to ban it a pandemic is not grounds to ban speech willy nilly either all of your reasons to ban it are stupid reasons you simply want to ban protests you don't agree with and are grasping for straws to try and justify it

I will not ask 'what is in it for me'. I will be thankful for being in a supportive community. I will also stay the hell away from you, though, if I can at all.

  4. I hear a lot of people whining that this election was unnecessary. That is incorrect. We all heard a lot of voters who were unhappy with Prime Minister Trudeau. By calling this election, we had the opportunity to replace him. This was their big chance. If you didn't like the government, you wanted this election.

  5. What ICU’s are filled? Tilting at windmills. We’re imposing restrictions for political and psychological reasons that have little bearing on public safety. There aren’t many at-risk people left to vaccinate. Kids are quite safe. End all restrictions. Let people take responsibility for their Covid safety.

  9. Hmmm… interesting take. Can you explain why the courts struck down the law because it infringed upon a woman’s right under Section 7? Why would the court have said it violated a woman’s rights, if it wasn’t a right? The law was found to violate Section 7 of the Charter of Rights and Freedoms because it infringed upon a woman’s right to “life, liberty and security of person.”

  10. Complete and utter nonsense. Asking people to give up fundamental rights to make you feel safe is actually the selfish thing to do. Stop being selfish. Stop asking people to give up their rights. Get fully vaccinated and you don’t have to worry about whether somebody else is or isn’t. The science indicates that you have a one in 5000 chance of getting COVID. If you do it will be mild. You have a bette chance of being killed in a car accident. If you haven’t stopped driving yet then stop asking other people to give up their rights. It’s disgusting. Civil society falls apart all over a virus that if you’re not older and sick have almost a zero chance of dying. We’ve become so bloody soft it’s ridiculous.

  18. Without the massive spending to support people and businesses during the pandemic, we would be in an economic wasteland. China did not "unleash" covid 19, it was where the virus first infected humans. China didn't have much say in the matter. People seem to forget Prime Minister Harper inherited a healthy surplus from the Liberals and took us into massive deficit with nothing to show for it.

  19. The problem is that while in Australia all major parties agree on the importance of a strong military, the Liberals in Canada never have, and when in opposition use every opportunity to politicize any and all military purchase and actions. For example, they got us into Afghanistan, but once the Tories were in power they did everything they could to make Canadians want us out. They searched for 'scandal' in everything from how Americans treated prisoners we handed over to the cost of new equipment. The Liberals signed us onto the F35 purchasing program, but once in opposition they did everything in their power to make it seem like a complete waste of money. every action, every death in combat was another opportunity for them to score points against the Tories. And now in power they've pushed all capital projects to the rear burner because Trudeau only cares about spending money on improving his popularity. And he figures the Canadians who care most about the military probably don't vote Liberal anyway.

  20. You continue to embrace this 'all or nothing' approach, where either we need to be able to defeat China ourselves or simply not have a military. That is not what anyone here is calling for. We don't need to match China. We merely need to field a respectable military so that we will be taken seriously. Some of the new electric subs are even quieter than nuclear, and I'm willing to bet if we had a dozen of them - which Australia was ordering from France, we could deter any kind of Chinese adventurism anywhere near our coast. Nor do we need conscription. I believe we could recruit enough people easily, if the government took measure to instill pride in our military - which includes not making them get by with forty year old, obsolete junk. We fielded a military twice the size it is now when we had half our population. We could field it again. And what our self-serving politicians want is irrelevant to the discussion. We all know they place their own political interest ahead of what's best for Canada. The best we can do is vote for whomever seems friendliest to the idea of increasing the size and spending. Right now (as usual) that's the Conservatives. And at least their leader is a former CAF officer who presumably has more interest and respect for the military than a smarmy drama teacher like Trudeau.

  21. You have the right to not be INTENTIONALLY infected by others. There is legislation for that. But no one has the right to be NOT infected with anything. That's "act of God" stuff. People go around infecting others with the flu and the common cold all year long, both of which are also deadlier and harder on the elderly and those with comorbidities. What are you going to do, start suing the person (you think) gave you the flu and cost you a week at work? Grama gets a flu, which turns into pneumonia, which leads to cardiac arrest - are you going to sue? And who do you sue? All this for an illness with over 99% survival rate. It's like shooting a bazooka into a crowd to kill a mosquito.

  25. What does sovereignty mean in Canada, is it the lines drawn on a map ?, is it mean having the ability to use and live on everything in those lines and defend or protect it ? We has a nation have 3 undermanned and under equipped Army brigade groups, that for the most part look after inter national ops and a few domestic ops... The government has given the Reserves the responsibility for our north, and if you think our Regular forces are screwed up, wait to you see what makes up the reserves, check out their man power or equipment...I mean what the regular army did not already steel. Any ways my point is as a nation we really have not put much thought into our sovereignty... we could not even defend our fishing grounds in the turbot wars. Our military is bleeding talent faster than it can be replaced, there is only so much someone can get kicked then they loss interest in their jobs... Defending the Nation is not important in Canada..

  27. Agreed and I think that Trudeau’s naïveté and Canadians’ complaisance is making us too susceptible to threats to the quality of life we enjoy, including living standards and freedom. We struggle to maintain liberal-democracy without a strong conservative pushback against the new managed economy global reset mindset that is the consensus of the dominant Canadian parties. We can’t expect a seat at the big boy table for geopolitical influence with a diminished military and leaders who are seen as all talk. How do you make Canadians wake up to the fact that in order have policies that serve national interests in the long term, you can’t be totally beholden to foreign powers for defence and business? I get the progressive argument that money is better spent on lifting people out of poverty than buying military hardware, but military heft protects the business interests and trade policies that boost tax revenues. Also, by farming out manufacturing to China for the short-term affordability of goods we are losing our capacity to build a wide range of products. Without that capacity it’s much harder to close the drawbridge in times of crisis. If those jobs are going automated we should be producing the machines and collecting the profits. The progressives forget this, just as they don’t understand that shutting down resource development and oil production just shifts the supply to countries like Saudi Arabia and Russia. Biden has shown his hypocrisy on shutting down pipelines and fighting greenhouse gas emissions. He is committing the US to trucking in oil supply shipped in from less democratic countries, and Trudeau assents with a smile.

  28. I have downloaded a Kindle book from Amazon called "HIDDEN HAND: Exposing How the Chinese Communist Party is Reshaping the World". I will start reading it as soon as I finish the book I am on now. But I read another book called "Claws of the Panda" which is similar in nature but more focused on what China has been doing in Canada. Canada has been selling out to China for decades. I believe Liberal politicians are strongly under the influence of China now. That would explain why Canada is the only country in the Five Eyes which has not stopped Huawei from being involved in the telecommunications network in Canada. Also some very wealthy Chinese have made large contributions to the Pierre Elliot Trudeau Foundation. In 2002 the Liberal government under PM Chretien donated 125 million dollars of taxpayer money to this organization. That should be investigated in a national public enquiry. The media says very little or nothing about this organization and what it does and what it's links are to the Liberal Party. This link shows 10 prominent media figures involved with the Trudeau Foundation. One of them is Chantal Hebert who is a key political commentator on CBC politics broadcasts. I think I have seen Susan Delacourt on CTV politics programs as well.

  29. Why Won't Canadian Politicians Denounce Anti-White Racism? Anti-Racism is a dog whistle for anti-White racism. Yet Canadian politicians are not denouncing this form of racism. In fact, they embrace it. Where are the Conservatives to stop this liberal, communist attack on democracy? Fact Check There is no systemic racism in Canada. There are race-hustling grafters selling this nonsense for their own personal gain. The media, celebs, politicians, teachers are all on this train of hatred and divisiveness. In Canada, any person receiving differential treatment based on a Code ground can seek redress from the human rights tribunal, free of charge. This applies to service, such as police and education, housing, and employment. Where is the systemic racism? In a system that has built in mechanisms to prevent racism? That does not make sense. Canada in 2021 is the best society that humans have ever created. Free housing and healthcare for all. Ask your anti racism advocate who claim there is white privilege (whte people do not earn their success) instructor to name any country with stronger human rights legislation and freedom. Ask them why 60% of racialized people are doing better than white people. Ask them why on average there is only a 7% difference between whites and third generation non whites? Ask them why more Blacks are going to college than Whites. Ask them why more " other " are going to university than Whites? Ask them to explain why "equity" and not merit should be society's objective? This pursuit of everyone having the same outcome despite skill, intelligence and effort is communism. If the law in Canada prevents discrimination then how is there systemic racism? Name a single case of an unarmed person being killed by Toronto Police since 2012. If they suggest Regis Paquet, she had a knife fight with her brother so her mom called the police, the police arrived and Regis ran outside and jumped off a balcony. Data on Race-Based Earnings: 3rd Generation vs White Workers In comparison, to white workers' income, all racialized people in their third generation or more, are at 0.93 cents to the dollar. This difference of seven cents or 7% is statistically insignificant is NOT indicative of any systemic factors impacting people's ability, based on race, to succeed in employment. On any spectrum, there will be a higher and lower end. White workers are on the lower end of average income. There are many groups who outperform Whites in earnings. This proves that there is no "White privilege" or "systemic racism" in favour of Whites. The following five groups are even with, above, or about equal to White earning power: South Asian (25% of racialized population) are at 0.96 cents Chinese (21%) are at 1.03 Arab (7%) are at 1.00 even Korean (2.5%) are at 1.53 Japanese (1.2%) are at 1.24 Approximately, 60% of non-Whites (third generation or longer) are even or above White earning power. This data is especially telling because these groups actually experienced legitimate systemic racism. Japanese Canadians who are at #2 were subjected to internment in the 1940's. 90% of Japanese Canadians were interned and they now earn more dollar than Whites. How can this be a system of oppression? How are they marginalized in 2021? Chinese Canadians were subjected to the head tax and the exclusion act which are examples of legitimate systemic racism. Now, they earn 1.03 to a White dollar. Arab Canadians are even with the White dollar despite claims of "Islamaphobia". Not all Arabs are Muslim but presumably all Arabs are marginalized due to "islamaphobia" yet they are on par with White earning power. When groups who claim to be oppressed and marginalized are doing better than the group with "privilege" , there is no logic to support this claim. It becomes absurd nonsense. 60% of racialized people do better/same as Whites. There is no systemic racism. Why do politicians continue to claim there is and throw millions at people based on their race? Based on being non-white. No reasonable person can claim "systemic racism" is real when the group alleged to have all the power and structure working to ensure their success is in the middle of the pack statistically and there is no significant difference between the average White and the average non-White. At some point, someone needs to call out the Emperor as wearing no clothes. The farce needs to stop. The data from Table 8 is clear, https://www.policyalternatives.ca/sites/default/files/uploads/publications/National Office/2019/12/Canada's Colour Coded Income Inequality.pdf The above completes disproves any systemic racism or White privilege in employment. Employment Rates There are many racialized groups with a higher employment rate than Whites. This counters the “White privilege” narrative: Black 63.8 to 63% Filipino 71.6 to 63% Latin American 66.3 to 63% Visible Minority 65.4 to 63% Multiple Visible Minority 65.9 to 63% *(similar) South East Asian 62.2 to 63% Source : “Ontario‟s Growing Gap. The Role of Race”-2005 data. https://www.policyalternatives.ca/sites/default/files/uploads/publications/reports/docs/The Role of Race Ontario Growing Gap.pdf Subject: Education The next point race hustlers will make will be that education is a structure designed for the purpose of making Whites succeed. However, like in employment, people succeed based on their effort, skills, intelligence, family support, and individual will. There is no systemic racism in education. This York report found "other" to have the most success and statistical advantages, not Whites. You may hear people claim education is "systemically racist". One might ask if teachers and administrators in Canada are not the biggest advocates for perpetuating the lie of "systemic racism" which makes the suggest that schools are "systemically racist" confusing, at best. However, the data on its own disproves "White privilege" in Canadian schools. The Toronto District School Board (TDSB) report provides evidence of "other" being the most successful in the TDSB. They define "other" as non-White and non-Black. TDSB: 4.1.b Graduation rates: 87% (Other) to 84% (White) Figure 6 shows the outcomes for students at the end of the 5-year period. Within this cohort, 84% of White students had graduated from high school at the end of 5 years, compared to 87% of other racialized students. Other are graduating at a higher rate than White students. This is not evidence of systemic racism rather the contrary. https://edu.yorku.ca/files/2017/04/Towards-Race-Equity-in-Education-April-2017.pdf 4.1.c Post-secondary confirmation (university): 60% to 47% Figure 8 compares the post-secondary plans of Black and White high school students in the same cohort. As the graph shows, almost half (47%) of the White students in this cohort applied to and were accepted by an Ontario university. A larger proportion of other racialized students (60%) in this cohort applied to and were accepted by an Ontario university. Post-secondary confirmation (university): College: A greater proportion of Black students applied to and were accepted by an Ontario college than their White and other racialized counterparts (21% versus 14%). Of note is the high rate at which Black students did not apply to a post-secondary institution. Black students did not apply to attend post-secondary education at almost the same rate as White students went on to university in Ontario (43% versus 47%). https://edu.yorku.ca/files/2017/04/Towards-Race-Equity-in-Education-April-2017.pdf If Other have a higher university entrance rate and Black have a higher college entry rate than Whites, where is the evidence that the "system" is acting in any way as a force to give unfair and preferential treatment to White students? 4.1.e Suspensions: 85% to 82% Suspension rates are an important indicator of school success, as they reflect lost instructional time, which reduces students' opportunities to learn. Further, suspension can undermine the attachment of students to their school, particularly if they feel they have been unfairly treated. Figure 11 shows the cumulative suspensions received by Black, other racialized, and White students during their time in high school. White students, as per York's study, were suspended at a higher rate of 85% compared to 82% of " other " students. White students are also expelled at a higher rate than many groups as well. This is not evidence of preferable treatment. https://doczz.net/doc/7981010/towards-race-equity-in-education---york-university-facult... Schools Teach Equity and Anti-White Racism Despite the lack of statistical advantages for Whites, school systems will target White students and make absurd and offensive claims that they are oppressors. "Talking Race with your Children": TDSB Document The TDSB teaches that White students have unearned privilege and unfair advantages despite the above evidence to the contrary. Their "education" teaches: privilege• Unearned freedoms, rights, benefits, access, and/or opportunities thatprovide unfair advantages for members of the Dominant Group(s) insociety. Because privileges are granted by mere affiliation with theDominant Group(s), some people are not always aware of theprivileges they have. Examples include: cisgender privilege, straightprivilege, male privilege, settler privilege, White privilegePower• access to privileges such as information/knowledge, connections, experience and expertise, resources and decision-making that enhancea person’s chances of getting what they need to live a comfortable, safe, productive and profitable life. Their objective is to see White students be at the bottom of every measurement. As per their philosophy, in any situation in which white students have a statistical advantage, they claim "systemic racism". As many groups outperform Whites, as long as any group is below whites, they want "equity". Funding goes to areas in which there are less Whites. There is an inverse relationship between funding and white population. This is anti-white racism. Ontario: Differential access to quality education In examining if the educational system in Ontario is inherently biased/racist/discriminatory on a systemic level, the funding requires examination. There is a common myth that Canada funds schools based on neighborhood taxes and that wealthier neighborhoods have an advantage in funding as a result. This is not true in Canada. How funding is structured In Ontario, elementary and secondary school is free and available to all people. The Ministry of Education provides the majority of operating funding to Ontario’s 72 district school boards through the annual GSN, also known as “the funding formula.” The GSN is a collection of grants described in detail in an annual regulation under the Education Act. There are two major components of the GSN: The Foundation Grants cover the basic costs of an educational experience that is common to all students, which is allocated based on student enrolment and the number of schools. The per student allocation is equal across all races. In this grant, all races/colours are equal. The Special Purpose Grants address the unique needs of students, schools and school boards related to location, student and school needs, and a board’s demographic profile. The ministry recognizes that conditions vary widely across Ontario and the funding formula cannot take every situation into account. There is no evidence to support any practise of students receiving more money for being White or for predominantly White schools receiving more money based on race. In fact, there is evidence that the opposite is true and non-Whites are categorized as “marginalized” and receive increased funding. In July of 2020, the provincial government committed to providing $3.5 million to support the Black and Indigenous grad coach programs, which provide wrap-around supports for students who are at risk of not graduating. * ( 4 ) White students are not eligible for this program and there are no programs to support White people exclusively. Teaching All public schools require teachers to be accredited by the Ontario College of Teachers. There are no rules, laws, policies to place “better teachers” in schools based on the race of students anywhere in Ontario. Toronto District School Board (TDSB) The largest school board in Ontario is the TDSB. They prioritize Black and Indigenous students. They have a special anti-Black racism mandate. Ontario: Colleges and Universities In addition to Charter protection and the Ontario Human Rights Code, all colleges and universities in Ontario have inclusion and diversity/anti-racism policies/departments to address allegations of unfair practice/programs/policies. Policing: OHRC Report The race hustler will typically also claim that police are "racist" and there is "systemic racism" in policing yet the data finds that "other" are the least charged by Police. This demonstrates that Police are interested in arresting those who do the crimes, not people based on race. Anyone sincerely interested in examining this claim should look at what demographic is responsible for the most serious crimes: violent crimes, shooting, murders, gun violence. The evidence will again prove that there is nothing systemic about the police investigating the groups disproportionately involved in the most serious offences. The Ontario Human Rights Commission (OHRC) released a report that disproves any inherent, structural advantages to people based on their race in Toronto policing. The report looked at set of nine criminal charges. Interestingly, the data was divided into three groups: White, Black and “other racial minority” despite the data actually being prepared by the Toronto Police to reflect six racial groups: White, Black, Asian, Aboriginal, Brown, Unknown. The three group data format showed that for all 9 set of charges, Whites were more represented than “other racial minority”. If the system is designed to favour Whites over non-Whites, this comparison against “other racialized minority” does not support that theory. As per the report, Whites constitute 48% of the population and represent 45.5% of all criminal charges. This would be objectively seen as neutral: neither advantageous nor disadvantageous. The “other racial minority” group represents 42.8% of the population and 22.2% of total charges. This shows that racialized people are significantly less likely than Whites to be charged criminally. Furthermore, the data indicates that the system of Toronto Policing demonstrates zero evidence of systemic racism against “other racialized minorities” and neutral to Whites as opposed to any “privilege”. Summary The next time you hear someone claiming Canada is racist, we have systemic racism, White privilege, ask for the facts. Why would groups outperform Whites and be better treated in schools and by Police if the system is designed for them? Whites would not be behind "Other" if there was a system in place to keep "other" down and Whites above. They will mention George Floyd and other events unrelated to Canada. They will attempt to add slavery to the crimes of Canada yet Canada became a nation in 1867 when slavery had long been abolished. The last point is that any person receiving differential treatment based on a Code ground can seek redress from the human rights tribunal, free of charge. This applies to service, such as police and education, housing, and employment. Where is the systemic racism? In a system that has built in mechanisms to prevent racism? That does not make sense. Canada in 2021 is the best society that humans have ever created. Free housing and healthcare for all. Ask your anti racism instructor to name any country with stronger human rights legislation and freedom. Ask them why 60% of racialized people are doing better than white people. Ask them why more Blacks are going to college than Whites. Ask them why more " other " are going to university than Whites? If the law prevents discrimination then how is there systemic racism? Name a single case of an unarmed person being killed by Toronto Police since 2012. If they suggest Regis Paquet, she had a knife fight with her brother so her mom called the police, the police arrived and Regis ran outside and jumped off a balcony. Canada is the greatest society in the history of humanity. All races are welcome and equal. I hope the politicians will start enforcing this message of Canadian pride. Who cares about color/race? Only anti racists.

It's scary how fast this has turned and the fear that created that is making normally sensible, rational people throw their fellow citizens under the bus.

  33. Incredible that Trudeau, a so-called ideological ally of the US Democrat Party, isn’t taken seriously by the Biden administration. We should’ve known that this was coming when Canada didn’t ban Huawei from 5G networks. Trudeau, a self-proclaimed admirer of China, doesn’t have the diplomatic relationship that he thought he had with China to get the two Michaels released from Chinese detention. The US exercised its extradition treaty with Canada to get at a Huawei executive, driving a wedge between Canada and China. Harper was wise to be hawkish on China, making it clear where Canada’s loyalties lie. Trudeau has lost credibility with both the US and China. If O’Toole wins, he would be wise to take a firm, scathing stance against China, boost Canadian military strength and independence, and diversify trade from the US. Canada is too reliant on US trade and military power. China is a manipulative totalitarian superpower that cannot be trusted. We need to either shift our offshore production from China to other cheap jurisdictions or pay more to manufacture more items ourselves with our higher labour costs. The latter option is the more painful one in the short-term, but it has the best long term impacts for Canadian employment and independence.

Clearly Canada has no interest in deterring Chinese aggression. It prefers to grovel and feels of it does this long enough perhaps it will get a pat on the head and be rewarded with a nice bone. Plus China is working, using its influence to keep Trudeau in power. It likes having a weakling in charge here. Most Chinese language media in Canada are controlled by China and they're all working to get Trudeau elected.

After this election, I am quite seriously thinking the Liberals and Conservatives might choose to co-operate in Parliament, rather than Liberals form a formal coalition or long-term co-operation with the NDP and/or Bloc. I am thinking of the following points: The Liberals chose to have an election rather than to continue to make deals with the NDP and Bloc; Parliament is now not much changed The Liberals have continued to move more and more from the left to the centre throughout their previous mandate; examples are stance on pipelines, willingness to bail out and subsidize businesses during pandemic and unwillingness to adopt NDP-inspired tax reforms The Conservatives have continued to move more and more from the right to the centre throughout the election campaign; examples are stance on gun control, acknowledging the need to address climate change and encouraging vaccinations The Conservatives would not likely start moving further to the right as further-right voters such as those who voted Libertarian or Peoples' Party are too small of a voting bloc to be worth chasing after, as opposed to the more centre voters Conservatives need to win and would lose by moving right Trudeau might not be especially picky in terms of who he co-operates with in Parliament this mandate as he seems to imply another election in another 18 months or so is likely Trudeau is unlikely to co-operate on many issues long-term with the Bloc as they are his main rival in Quebec Trudeau is unlikely to co-operate on many issues long-term with the NDP as they are his main rival on the left The Green Party was no longer a political force in this election; Green voters are winnable by Liberals; Greens have no power in parliament; Conservative co-operation therefore may have become a negligible threat to Green-turned-Liberal voters, especially as the Conservatives have acknowledged the need to address climate change A Liberal-Conservative co-operation (most basically meaning no voting YES to any non-confidence motions) would ensure that Parliament lasts longer than it would under any other arrangement

  36. 1. I hope this is not tied to down sizing our immigration numbers or restricting immigrants from certain places in the world. Sending them back is non sense... 2. Every Canadian is protected by the law, it does not have to single out any race or religion, or sex. as for the surgeries go let them have them the law already restricts everyone under 18... And everyone is born male or female , and in the rare case both sexes that is a medical and scientific fact. 3. that is happening look at Antifa, extreme right for instance or the left or right not many can sit down and have a conversation about anything... pretty soon everything will be canceled...

  37. Legal doesn’t mean it’s a right or that it’s right. Slavery used to be legal as well. You still don’t understand the difference between a privilege and a right.

  38. There should be a conservative new channel in Canada, but I think the Canadian Radio Television Commission (CRTC) would not allow it because they control news outlets under the liberal government. Canada is not really a free country but is limited in many ways, proving again it is ruled to some degree by Marxists. These liberal Marxists are working on extending their control of the internet and social media with bill C10 and C36 although these bills may be given new names by the new Parliament now elected. New Parliament but same old Marxist players. We are losing our freedom of speech. The People's Party is a kind of protest party. I agree with some things they advocate but I think they hurt their chances by fighting against the pandemic measures. The Conservative Party has shifted to the left considerably and become kind of liberal lite. So they can't really be trusted too much. We need a conservative television station that is not controlled by any political party and not controlled by the Conservative Party of Canada which cannot really be trusted. They are trying to be everything to everyone. They even admit that. That is not the kind of television station we need. We need a voice for those of us who oppose liberalism and Marxism.

  40. Because the media at least was a trusted institution. They are to remain skeptical and balanced in their reporting, which they clearly are not. So it really is a symptom of leftism in general, where we are to trust our betters and never question so called experts – which the media like to pretend they are. So yes, in one way you are correct. That is why Sun News failed. But perhaps the population’s political bent is a result of the media? Canadians are like sheep to the slaughter, because unlike the USA, we actually trust our media at about 70% or so. For instance when has the media EVER shown skepticism to the outlandish claims of the global warming cult?

  41. Our military industrial complex has been allowed to dry up, today ship building project is a hand out of bils of dollars to the major companies like the Irving's, Davies ship yard. we could have got much much more if we had them built off shore... and used the bils that where saved to provide tax breaks or pay or actually fix our health care system, something...

  42. He had no choice. Nobody could have known about the pandemic. It hit the whole world real hard and all major industrial countries borrowed heavily many hundreds of billions so that their badly hit nations could survive the storm. . He had to support Canadians in a very bad time. Any other party in power would have done the same.

  43. Trudeau has doubled the debt in 18 months and is printing 2 billion a week. There will be a reckoning. He added over 100 billion to the debt before COVID.

  44. It's not for nothing that people have invented words like government's "responsibility"; "accountability" and "independent oversight". Too bad we were too busy celebrating to have learned them.

  45. Well I don't have cable but just the basics - so I'm doomed to leftist channels! CPAC isn't as bad as CTV and CBC. But it has a lot of French (and I'm not bilingual)!

  47. Canada can scale up fast militarily if the will and commitment are there. The skeleton force exists, less a Marines and Airborne. Our JTF2 still runs with the big guns. It’s important to recognize though that when Canada had almost superpower level capabilities at the end of WW2, we essentially relinquished it all. When we briefly had the fastest fighter engine, the US basically asked us to shut it down. Trudeau Sr. turned down having nuclear missile launchers in Canadian soil. When we are committed and focused, we can move fast and effectively. The problem with focusing all our resources on creating a “just society” where everyone gets a trophy for breathing, the social safety is miles thick, and everyone is a victim in need of compensation for some perceived injustice, is that it leaves no room for much else, like self-defence and protection from manipulation by foreign powers. It’s insane that our own government is keeping Canadians in the dark about what information was shared with the Wuhan lab, yet it put Chinese government-supported virologists on the payroll and shared biohazard research with them. What the hell was that about? Trudeau throws billions of tax dollars at trying to fix problems that Canadians living today didn’t cause. The Indian Act was never the government’s business to fix. That’s up to the natives to change and no one is stopping them, yet the cause has sucked all the oxygen away from other causes. We shoot ourselves in the feet on our greatest asset, our natural resources, by burying resource development in regulation and consultation, making it harder to stimulate the very Indigenous communities we want to help. We have to get our priorities straight. Australia realizes the threat of China. It has become a beach-head of western freedom in that part of the world much as Israel is a beach-head in the Middle East. Canada relies too heavily on her neighbour the US for security. Britain has always maintained her independence from mainland Europe. If we want to be taken seriously as an independent country, we must be more self-sufficient and diversify our trade away from the US. We tend to do what’s convenient and cheap. It often seems to make sense to do this, but it’s dangerously complaisant.

  48. Thanks for the insult, moron. What? You didn't think your claim on its own would hold up so you had to decorate it with slurs? You're right. The claims in your post are useless bafflegab and have next to nothing to do with anything I ever said. Although, I do like this bit: Nobody was talking about the total death rate. That wasn't the point. The point was daily deaths have been plummeting precipitously since Governor DeSantis made the therapeutic, monoclonal antibodies available to Floridians. Even your own source admits daily covid deaths have been at least "declining". The correct term would "plummeting" to describe how much, how fast but with fake news you take whatever bits of fact you can get. The plummeting death rates are only present in Florida. It's not happening in any of the other 3 big American states. It might have started to happen in Texas who were starting to to open up to MCAs but the Biden regime scooped up all the available stock when they saw the results in Florida and it's yet to be determined who gets what. Also Texas has that problem with the Biden regime opening up the border to infected aliens who have been traveling in groups. 20% come infected, I hear. But go ahead, talk about something I never mentioned and tell me that makes me a liar. It only makes you look desperate. But it makes smile when I knock you down after you attack.

  49. The subs are just a result of them signing the pact. They're not a requirement. They can now get the technology for them, though, and want it. On the other hand, we're spending more than 3.5 billion per frigate - assuming they ever get built.
