Hmmm. I'm afraid the impression you've tried to cultivate that you have all the grace and charm of a dog's dick has been very successful. The quality of your arguments simply don't matter. Good job.2 points

So why are they letting Biden run again? Allowing, or should I say promoting an invasion to take place at the southern border is a form of insurrection. Somewhat of a double standard don't ya think?2 points

Canada & India joined the Empire on the same day at signing the Treaty of Paris 1763 it was we Britons who incorporated the Punjabi Sikhs Punjabi Sikhs fought & died for the British Crown for near two hundred years and frankly, they are far more British than native born Canadians now an ultra conservative, devoutly religious, warrior caste the equal of any Scots Covenanter Ek Onkar2 points

Canada’s implementation of assisted suicide represents the moral failure of healthcare in Canada. Our Minister of Health uses double-speak like “health issues aren’t to be conflated with mental illness.” He’s saying mental illness isn’t mental illness. What? This is the kind of dubious logic used to justify an increasingly dangerous and morally corrupt form of supposed healthcare that’s really deathcare. This indicates that the Canadian healthcare system is giving up on healthcare. With our assisted suicide death rate rising faster than anywhere else in the world, it’s time to end this experiment. The cult of death (unlimited abortion anytime up to natural birth, a euthanasia system that results in war vets and the poor ending their lives purely because of money or weak mental healthcare). The healthcare system must improve and MAID must be rescinded immediately. Our birth rate is falling and among the lowest in the world. Canada is shooting herself in the foot finding ever more reasons to cull the population. Expensive housing, high cost of living, abortion, MAID, hard drugs, encouraging non-traditional families, urban lifestyles). All of these trends are the reason Canada must now rely on immigration and is becoming beholden to values that are not of Canada. They have been imported, and not necessarily from far off places. We’ve imported a foolish radical progressive ideology that is culture and society-killing because it cannot sustain itself. People must return to a more traditionally Canadian way of life.1 point

I fully trust the intentions of Tucker and Trump regarding Russia and Putin. Although, I'm only saying this so I don't get thrown out a window.1 point

Things were definitely better back then. Lots of good paying jobs. One income family's were the norm. Little government debt. And really, that's about as good as it gets.1 point

Correct. Trump has been subjected to the same "technicalities", The Dems called it insurrection just like school kids looking for the most impact when name calling. I had a momentary relapse and sunk way down to their level. For that Zeus sent down two lightening bolts and Thor threatened me with his hammer.1 point

Doesn't say anything about investigating cases where there's only the potential for abuse. Like how would that even go? I also noticed no cite for the "close to zero kids get abused for being trans" claim. Not surprised. I'd ask for a direct citation but we know you'll just bloviate and obfuscate and continue to lie because that's your whole M.O. But again: no one made the claim that "no right wing home is supportive" though it stands to reason that right wing/conservative/religious households are more likely to be non supportive. Guy i'm not the one who thinks saying some parents are abusive is a"bigoted statement" but I'm sure the abusers appreciate you going to bat for them.1 point

This such a funny response. "Everything has a cause or a maker" "What about god?" "Uh...god doesn't count!" It's like a toddler making up rules for a game on the fly.1 point

He did plenty of exactly that. For example, despite the fact that Stalin and Hitler had signed a pact to both invade and then divide Poland between them, Putin absurdly argued that Poland collaborated with Hitler. It makes absolutely no sense, but most folks watching Tucker Carlson wouldn’t know any better and as you say, good liars bullshit eloquently and seamlessly. What was really cringe about it was how Tucker Carlson just sat there nodding his head the whole time like a sycophantic bobblehead.1 point

that's not why the Canadian Corps sacrificed as unlike the English, Scots & Irish, the Canadian Corps could not go home on leave the Canadian Crops could only return home again if and when they won the war, by their owns means in the face of allies who had simply failed to do it without Canada1 point

One can be memory impaired, retarded or just dumb but they can't lie their way through making up an alternate reality. The situation now is exactly as it was back in Europe 1940. A carbon copy. Yes there were those who called not our business. There were folks who thought that brutal totalitarian regimes can be pacified. Others just believed that nothing bad could happen: to them. The consequences, and the costs are well known. They were all a part of it. Because when and if you're facing a brutal bully, showing weakness to them is the dumbest possible strategy. It will only convince them that you can be a good victim and press on. Will Putin and his bunch, Un, Iran mullahs, Belorussian jerk and Xi in the vague background, just stop doing what they do and being who they are? Not a chance; that just doesn't happen with aggressive bullies. That's a fact, and by denying obvious facts you only force yourself in some neverland and deep trouble in the reality. All of that has been tried already. Nothing new you can say here. Dumb or short of memory were never valid excuses to the reality.1 point

What you fail to understand is that not only is everyone at least a little bigoted and biased, but there are people who sound or are a little bigoted who would do far more for the people who are objects of that mild bigotry than some of the self-righteous self-proclaimed progressives. I think most people instinctively know this. For example, I had great grandparents on one side of the family who said bigoted things by today’s standards who would do more for the minorities they referenced than many progressives today, including fighting wars and defeating fascism. It’s the difference between saying what sounds like the right things and doing the real, practical things that help people. As soon as I hear someone sound off about how righteous their views are, I start to think thou doth protest too much. Trudeau is an obvious example, but we’ve all seen these phoneys in various environments. You think people of colour can’t sniff out the phoniness? I’ve noticed a lot of tentativeness around such virtue signallers. It’s one of the reasons Trump has a lot of support among minorities, because despite all his obvious flaws, they sense that what they see is more or less what they get. I don’t say that to mean I’m a Trump fan, I’m saying that there’s a lot of fake rhetoric. The fact that you equated “Chinaman” with the “N” word and used that false equivalence to make Oftenwrong look bad actually makes you look dishonest. All people have biases. The issue isn’t whether someone sometimes says some off-colour things, it’s whether that slight inappropriateness or even real bias actually results in unfair treatment in the workplace, schools, etc. People shouldn’t be so fearful of saying something that isn’t exactly right, because speaking smoothly isn’t what’s really important. It’s how you treat people. First impressions aren’t always lasting ones. After a while of working with someone you figure out whether they’re conscientious, thoughtful, hardworking, etc, and it’s got nothing to do with race.1 point

Come on. The man has committed crimes. Now he promises to be a dictator if elected. He’s very specific that he doesn’t want Congress to pass any immigration laws because he intends to bypass the law if elected. A President who bypasses the law and ignores court orders and insists that he is immune from prosecution is a dictator. The Germans ignored warnings like these and it destroyed the entire country. Yes, our government is inefficient and doesn’t always work right. But it is the system we have. If one person makes all decisions with no oversight of law or court, we become slaves.1 point

The thing is, he's not unelectable. He's the same doddering old man he was last week. But as long as Trump is on the ballot whoever is on in the other side--and in whatever condition--is an electable candidate. A potato is a better option. A potato won't do anything at all to improve our country. It's completely worthless. But it won't actively try to end the Republic, as Trump has already done. Beyond the myriad smaller--and larger--harms he has done, he is the only disappointed loser in the history of this nation who put himself above the country, seeking to thwart the peaceful transfer of power that is absolutely central to democracy. We had one very close call already. That was the dress rehearsal. We may not survive the next attempt. And there are a lot of Americans who feel the same way. I like being an American. I don't want to become whatever we'd be called in a post-democratic nation. If it's a potato, I'm voting potato.1 point

You make a very important point actually: Being a language cop doesn’t make someone a good or friendly person. Actions always speak louder than words. You want to know how accepting someone is of people of different backgrounds? Look at how they actually get along. I know some very progressive sounding people who only hang out with white people. They’re big talkers but somewhat fake. What’s also interesting is that good people tend to find each other and they’re often from all different backgrounds1 point

Well that's certainly true - you can choose to look like an uneducated doof. Literally happens every day. Ahhhh yes - you're "go to" when you know you're wrong and can't defend your position. Pretty close to zero - and lets be fair, some teachers will use hiding it from parents to sexually exploit the kids. It's rarer but theres' lots of cases of teacher's seducing kids. So risks either way. Yeah we are. It's the lefties who are making the claim that no right wing home is supportive. Which just isnt true. You mean your hate filled bigoted statement above? Yeah - well - we didn't really think you had one so no surprises.1 point

How many of those winners have we imported, and how many of them have suck across our border? We already have a lot of people with that mindset in our country, they're just in the minority here so they keep quiet about it. What does a guy like Omar Khadr think about that? He fought for the Taliban. Our country allowed islamic state members back into our country, which is weird, because they all deserved the same treatment that the SS got. Be a good Canadian and pretend not to know... it will hurt your social credit score.1 point

I’m not getting a happy, contented vibe off most of the right-wingers here although I’m sure somebody will hotly object that they’re as serene as it’s humanly possible to be. There’s so much rage and doom-mongering with the right these days. It can’t be good for them.1 point

The "Canada hall" was closed for reconstruction when I was there. And I can't say I'm overly impressed with what I can see online. It looks like it's a gallery of big wooden placards. I worked in the museums several decades ago and they were a lot more intimate and colourful in their connection between people and the exhibits. And btw, having one hall in a museum devoted to Canada after confederation, a chunk of which is also devoted to the natives, is hardly enough for a national museum dedicated to Canada's history.1 point

Encouraging everyone to retreat into separate identity tribes while demonizing the one tribe we all belong to and suppressing our collective pride for it is a really bad idea. This has been the ideology of the woke left, including our current government of the past 8 years. Yes we're all different and always have been, but we need to reject divisive identity politics and vote the current government out of office because they're destroying the country.1 point
