For me it's the safety to explore new ideas. What we have, and I've certainly been guilty, is an unwillingness to change one's mind once confronted with new facts or ideas. But pursuing the truth and facts with a bit of humility. Now we have a free flow of ideas which is a double edged sword.2 points

Because the comments I cited about Taylor Swift are utterly deranged. They aren’t criticisms of her, and they aren’t disagreements with her opinions. She comes to her boyfriend’s football games and gets on-camera for 20 seconds a game, and even people here claim they don’t want to watch football anymore… because the camera panned to the most famous celebrity of the year. That’s deranged.2 points

The government does this deliberately. They use MAID to kill off the portion of population that either has no more usefulness (such as war vets), or those who would require too many resources to treat (such as the disabled, people with severe mental health issues).2 points

Biden Runs Against Man Who Already ACTS LIKE HE Thinks He’s President No one can really tell what Trump actually believes. Jan 6th sworn testimony clearly shows he says different things in private. Pathological LIAR!1 point

And I suppose you are one of the fake FOX News reporters who claimed the criminals who attempted to capture and hold for ransom with plastic zip ties as binding , duly Elected Officers of the Country-- were just there as tourists instead of terrorists attempting to kidnap and possibly injure or even kill them until those terrorist demands were met? ( and in the background we hear "Hang Mike Pence! Hang Mike Pence!").? and a noose hanging from a scaffold carried in with the terrorists? that was for what? Hanging a salami for later lunch? Maybe you think breaking through windows to Federal Buildings by throwing chairs and metal gates against them until they break, so you and your friends can climb through them to enter a locked federal building is totally.okay instead of a felony breaking and entering crime? Better stay in Canada, we call those crimes HERE in America.1 point

On the topic of Freedom of Speech, you need to drill down to what it meant when it was developed and what it means today. No society exists with unhealthy information and falsehoods everywhere. No society exists without a common moral sphere.1 point

The more I read the more I'm concerned about some of this. For example, disinformation about where to turn to if you are suicidal can be a major issue and potentially have serious impacts as in the case of your friend. While I wasn't a huge fan of the Facebook "disinformation" tags, the algorithms should be able to pick up on key words, provide factual crisis information, etc.1 point

Left? You say that as if it's an insult. As unsurprising as how people who think they're merely conservative are so limited in vocabulary they can only use the adjective "left" to describe anything they disagree with. No wonder those people love the guy whop loves the uneducated. When left is right and right is wrong, it's time to decide which side you're on.1 point

Getting back to your comments. Support from whom exactly? Nobody asked me. I didn't see no referendum question. Am sure there are many who don't support the feds domineering methods of control over certain institutions. Here is an example of how it's being done. CAMPUS WATCH: University of Waterloo seeking “gender-fluid” people to fill DEI positions "The University of Waterloo was criticized online over its Canada Research Chairs DEI job postings." Further on: "The University of Waterloo told True North it is 'using the language outlined in the federal requirement.'" I bolded the significant part. I don't know what they're referring to, but it says REQUIREMENT. Now whether that means or else you don't get the funding or don't get accreditation doesn't really matter. It's the liberal government imposing their ideological will in the form of performance standards, whether they are needed or not. Whether they make sense or not. These solutions do not address the real problem, only cover it up and in doing so create a new set of problems. It's like putting lipstick on a pig.1 point

You sound so sure. Looking back now I see that Blackbird said the very same thing I did. We both came to the same conclusion in our interpretation of this metaphor. Yet he is a devout christian who reads the bible daily, I am not. See his quote immediately above yours. I bolded the part that made me interpret its meaning this way. Jesus then implores the apostles to accept his sacrifice, and make the same themselves. This echoes his other statements elsewhere in the bible, "pick up your cross and follow me." The apostles were upset with him and tried to persuade him not to go through with it. This is also somewhere in the bible. Go look it up. These interpretations are far more useful and relevant in meaning than simply taking it literally, but you're free to fill your boots with whatever you like. Don't expect everyone else to think you're right.1 point

Well exactly. The world was a relatively peaceful and prosperous place under Trump except that he tended to ratchet up the bombastic rhetoric, which worried people. It was polarizing. I appreciate his outsider status and it’s obvious that there’s a concerted effort to destroy him for spurious reasons. The radical left has been far more dangerous than Trump. The creepy alliance between the radical left and the neo-liberals/cons in deep state permanent Washington has generated culture and physical wars. In that regard we were better off with Trump, but even he couldn’t reel them in. They are still trying to destroy him and will continue to try throughout and after his presidency if he’s elected. The radical left and the war mongers who use the radical left as a distraction are destroying America.1 point

I can't speak for Zeitgeist, but I think if you strip all of that stuff away, he'd be waaaay less popular. If you just put together a blinded list (no name) of the things that Trump has done--the policy, the lies, the corruption--nobody would say "Yeah that's all fine." Nobody on either side of the aisle would choose that resume. He's beloved by the MAGA base specifically because he causes chaos and outrage. Because he provokes, through boorish behavior, both establishment conservatives and liberals. They love him like they love a professional wrestling heel (also on Trump's resume). They revel in spite and chaos. If they can't have it their way (and their way isn't very popular) they'd rather burn it all down.1 point

It's mind bending how leftoids go completely blank when the topic of illegal immigration comes up. It's like someone pulled the plug on their Marxist programming. lol1 point

I love everything about this. Trump is a bully, used to using the courts to pick on poor contractors and vendors. Now he's playing on a more even field against legal adversaries who have the means and knowledge to properly defend themselves--and he's getting burned over and over again. Couldn't happen to a nicer guy. The GOP legislators have been thoroughly cowed, but the people in the justice system still take their work seriously.1 point

That's bullshit too, as leftists don't see their imperfections or flaws; they are too busy projecting that shit onto their political opponents.1 point

There are currently no nukes or missiles capable of delivering them in Eastern Europe. Ukraine gave up its nuclear weapons in return for a guarantee of their security by Russia. I wonder how keen Putin would have been to invade if Ukraine still had them. If Putin keeps invading neighbours, there definitely will be nukes in future.1 point

I will agree that Trump is not a stand up guy that I would want to be connected to. However, my primary issue with him is his demonstrated agreement with conspiracy theories. Its one thing for random internet hack to buy into them but a public official is held to a higher standard. To base your comments and decisions on unfounded (and almost always unprovable) conspiracy theories is unforgivable.1 point

Well I'm no biblical scholar and it's been a while since I cracked the good book, but I think he was saying in those quotes that he was going to give up his life for the world. And that is why they were upset with him. 🤷♂️1 point

There ya go, still peddling vax-Nazi BS. I'll admit that it's nice to see health authorities finally admitting that the vax injures people, but all they're ever doing is taking a damage control stance. Buddy, there are thousands of people who died shortly after receiving the dose in England, the US, etc, and a lot of them were not in the at-risk category for covid. Those deaths are being investigated about as fast as the FBI investigates Dems, but there are still many cases of people being killed by the jabs. Isn't it weird how they can diagnose a covid death right there on the bed but it takes years to prove a jab-induced death? At some point, don't you think that they're just not really investigating anymore? Why is "died suddenly" a "cause of death" now? Has medical science really regressed that far that we don't know why people are dying anymore? When was the last time that someone you knew died and Drs just said "We don't know why or how"? Especially with young people. How often do they just drop dead and no one knows why? I personally know 2 girls who were injured by the 'vaccine'. Both were 19, both were injured in Langley, and one of them actually had her heart stop and had to be revived. I.e.: she was clinically dead, temporarily. She was taking 5 different meds a day to keep her heart from failing. She is "not allowed to take the vax again" but they didn't give her an exemption letter either, meaning that she'll always be subjected to the same restrictions as the anyone else who's considered "unvaxed". Her injuries were not considered severe enough to get compensation. Get this: she only got the jab so that she could keep working at BC Biolabs, and the whole time she was off work for nearly dying because of it has been unpaid. They didn't even send her a "Sorry we almost killed you, but we're taking no responsibility" card. The other girl had an enlarged heart after the second shot. She still suffers bouts of weakness from it. If I know 2 girls who were hurt by it, it's way more than 0.58 cases per 100K. I'd have to know 400,000 people to know 2 people who were injured if that was the case, but 19 y-o girls are at a much lower theoretical rate than 0.58. We're still being lied to, just not as much as before.1 point

Yeah, right. People will just "volunteer" to work their ass off for nothing. Reality is: you end up with the ultimate Marxist society where government owns the means of production and you do what you are told, when your are told, how you are told and do not question authority. You see, very few people are ever going to volunteer for the really difficult jobs and when they don't get done SOMEONE has to step in - i.e. those who "volunteered" themselves to be government. Think about this: you come down with cancer and you think the qualification to treat you is going to come from someone who has volunteered to be a doctor? Good luck with that one. Come to think of it: with our current Liberal immigration policy, we are getting scary close to the latter situation.1 point

What lying words? CdnFox is not lying when he says they included legislation for other things they want pushed through that are unacceptable to certain elements on the right. That is typically how these bills are presented. I suspect there are more than a few government leaders, on both side, who oppose the idea of limitless funding for this war and don't mind finding a reason for it to stop. The real lying words are Joe Biden -"We are going to support you, for as loooooong as it takes."1 point
