It’s good news for Canada that Trump’s ego once again got the better of him and he revoked his invitation to Canada to join the so-called “Board of Peace”, which contains invaders and is described by Trump as “being able to do whatever it likes.” Europe, the UK, and other countries should stay out of yet another tool of coercion by integration. I think they may have finally figured out the game and how they’ve been played. It took us a while too. Being disinvited means we can’t be blamed for not participating.3 points

You clowns will go to any absurd length to justify illegal immigration. You are butchering the definiiton of "immigration" here as those people did not migrate to Canada to live there. It was a temporary displacement. If I stop by your home for the weekend becaue you have power and mine doesn't in an ice storm, I am not a resident of your home now nor did I intend to move in and go down to the DMV to change the address on my license.2 points

There's some wisdom in that I think, it's exactly how you got to where you are today and now you don't like it. The worst part of all this was the predictability, the fact that you were repeatedly warned about the destination, warned that a backlash was inevitable and warned that when it occurred.... you wouldn't like it. POOF, here we are. IMO, the same thing is coming to some European countries in the near future, not quite there yet but it's coming. So, when I ask "what did you think was going to happen" it isn't rhetorical and it's not the result of being opposed to immigration.... it's purely about being opposed to bat shi% craziness. Speaking personally now, why do you suppose that I (and any number of ex liberal voters) were fundamentally opposed to bat shi$ crazy immigration abuses in the US? It's because your actions were predictable; It's because we could see where those actions would take us and we didn't want to travel to Crazy Island with you; It's because the end result (in terms of growing opposition and animosity) was predictable; It's because the backlash that animosity created was predictable; and especially It's because that backlash (not if but when it came) would hurt a lot of people. But take heart.. that confusion can only linger in the continued presence of bat shi% craziness. Extremes always result in equal and opposite extremes and the law of the see-saw always raises the (bat shi%) bar incrementally in equal and opposite measure. Put on a blue hat and go see the word, circumstances are always different but the principle remains. On a smaller scale, watch the escalation dynamic in the parking lot after closing time. Watch how it turns into something affectionately labeled "the monkey dance." Maybe it's part of the human condition... I don't know the answer but It always comes with consequences and it always begs the same question. WTF did you think was going to happen? The better question, the one you should have asked yourself at the get go is "do you really want what you seem to be asking for?"2 points

US gets a deal in Greenland It looks like Trump gets his deal in Greenland who would have known....I wonder what happens now...to all his doubters....to all the rhetoric of collapse of NATO, of European countries stationing troops on Greenland...sorry had to laugh there for a second as Canada volunteered 16 air force personal , Yes our highly trained Air force people will be wondering around in Greenland , doing what nobody knows, it's a secret ...Last time our Air force was in the artic, one of them got lost on the tarmac...Yes i said tarmac....a massive search was conducted and this guy was found...now to his credit it was very foggy....and he kept warm just walking in circles... Anyways Kudo's to the Airforce for stepping up, while the rest of the military is busy....I guess they will be stood down as the US got it's deal....whew that was close , the Air force almost had another mission....and it was not a 5 star hotel.... Back to Greenland looks like the US will be able to put on many more bases on Greenland, including the iron dome...Trump also got a deal on critical minerals, and many other things they were looking for....2 points

Actually the majority of Canadians view Immigration the same way, not sure how you seem to think, that this is some how bad... One good speech does not make him king of the free world....nor does it benefit Canada in any way...How many are lined up to sign new trade agreements with us... This is what the left expects poking the bear, knowing full well that the bear does not take kindly to the poking.....and when the bear reacts the LEFT stand up beating their chest screaming we need to do something....this is terrible. If you look at our economy, tell me we are not dependent on the US for almost everything...Knowing that why do you and others consider poking the bear.... We as a nation thrive because of the US and the US markets, don't kid yourselves the US could cripple Canada at any time both economically and through force...knowing that should at least give us pause before making great speeches.... Trump does not need to be held in high regard, regardless of what others think of him , people listen when he speaks....Yes kudo's from around the world, try surviving on just kudos , how may of these nations will step up and help Canada if the US cuts trade with us....then we will see what kudo's is worth....2 points

You actually think they faked an autopsy? You think the DHS is your beacon of truth? Known liars? The DHS has been caught telling lies over and over again, making claims repeatedly contradicted by eyewitness accounts, video evidence and local law enforcement. A comprehensive fact-checking document of DHS misinformation was prepared by U.S. Senate Democratic Whip Dick Durbin (D-IL), Ranking Member of the Senate Judiciary Committee Read it here. But, let’s focus in on the opinion given by Judge Sara L. Ellis as the result of her overseeing a case brought by journalists, protesters, and members of the clergy against DHS (the defendants) for unjustified brutality and arrests in the Chicago area. You can read longer passages from her opinion at this link, but here are some highlights – After reviewing all the evidence submitted to the Court and listening to the testimony elicited at the preliminary injunction hearing, during depositions, and in other court proceedings, the Court finds Defendants’ evidence simply not credible. Plaintiffs submitted a mountain of evidence, providing the Court with over eighty declarations, numerous videos and articles, and other evidence. Defendants did not rebut anything that Plaintiffs set forth… … it becomes difficult, if not impossible, to believe almost anything that Defendants represent…. Defendants, however, cannot simply create their own narrative of what happened, misrepresenting the evidence to justify their actions. Overall, after reviewing all the evidence, the Court finds that Defendants’ widespread misrepresentations call into question everything that Defendants say they are doing in their characterization of what is happening at the Broadview facility or out in the streets of the Chicagoland area during law enforcement activities. No they have not done any of those things. Ask yourself why this has not happened in Texas, Florida, Oklahoma or any other red state. Because the people in those states are not rioting. The people in those states do not interfere with their operations. The governments in those states cooperate and arrests are made in jails. What you describe is a reaction to radicals rioting and attempting to bypass democratically instituted laws. What you describe is what must be done to protect the true and just laws of our Republic in the face of authoritarianism.1 point

The last Democrat administration enabled illegal mass immigration from the third world. Canadian Liberals enabled legal mass immigration from the third world. Canada has had the highest per capita rate of immigration in the G7 over the last ten years, mostly from the third world. It hasn't worked out too well.1 point

No, I did not say that. I said that you cite anonymous Facebook and social media posts. You can see the difference, right? Even so, it doesn't really make that much of a difference. When you put forward anonymous posts as compelling sources and expect reasonable people to put credence in them, you're filtering yourself out of reasonable discussions. There needs to be a floor when it comes to standards of information and facts, and if someone's floor is pretty much the most useless and least reliable type of internet content, folks aren't going to give you any of their limited time or bandwidth even if you're later providing good or useful information. I'm not trying to troll you. It would just be nice if we didn't have to debate zero-effort and AI generated click-bait on this forum.1 point

FYI no neighbourhoods are being "terrorized". Can you describe for me where you see "terror"? Do you understand that a central theme of this whole alleged "terror" issue is that: in sanctuary cities, illegals with dangerous criminal histories are let out of city jails without informing ICE that's not just "comforting for those criminals and their families", it's an international advertisement that illegally entering the US to live there is A-OK then, instead of ICE just showing up in between coffee breaks to take someone out of a jail cell, while they are alone and unarmed, ICE has to track them down in the community, which means that sometimes they show up at kids' schools sometimes they have to arrest them in their homes, where they may be armed and there may be innocent women and children present, and that means "scary raid" so, the "terror" that you are talking about is often a symptom of the bad Dem policy of releasing criminals back into the community, which is a common theme. I know that your job as a left4rd is to ignore unwanted information, and I can predict with 100% accuracy what your reply will look like: you'll ignore the points for which you have no defense you will throw down some kind of strawman argument, and pretend to be a pure heart for caring about it you will play the angry SJW card and yell about some imaginary condition you make some unsubstantiated allegations and throw down some sandbox insults you will pretend that ICE agents pose more of a threat to the community at large than rapists, pedophiles, drug dealers and murderers, Did I miss anything, CrakHo? Do you have another trick up your sleeve today, or are you gonna go with the same old "tired and untrue" debate tactics?1 point

The left: "You can't cut spending! That will harm people!" Also the left: 'You are a loser because you didn't balance the budget!" They are just noise. Get ear plugs and ignore them. They are not serious. https://www.cbsnews.com/news/house-vote-government-funding/ The bill that was passed returns the budget to Trump 1 era levels. It got almost 150 Democrats supported the bill despite House Minority Leader opposing the bill. Hakeem Jeffries is so reckless, even his own party is ignoring him. But Barbie said Trump is bad at running the economy. Yet, he is getting record GDP: "The GDPNow model estimate for real GDP growth (seasonally adjusted annual rate) in the fourth quarter of 2025 is 5.4 percent on January 22, unchanged from January 21 after rounding. After this morning’s releases from the US Bureau of Economic Analysis, the nowcast of fourth-quarter real gross private domestic investment growth decreased from 6.4 percent to 6.2 percent." Atlanta Fed On top of that tariffs have led to higher revenues for the government: "The federal government deficit for fiscal year 2025 totaled approximately $1.8 trillion, which was about $41 billion lower than the deficit recorded in fiscal year 2024." CBO When the final GDP numbers come out, that deficit is going to be a large percentage less than Biden's. The only economic numbers that are not insanely good are jobs. Part of that is due to recovering feom the Biden era false jobs report. Part of it is the time it takes to get those jobs up and running after trade deals. Part of it is deportations. By this time next year, we probably see some insanely high jobs numbers.1 point

Do you intend to protect our car industry completely and indefinitely from Chinese competition? That rather Marxist proposal doesn’t sound like a good deal for consumers. Obviously it takes time to find buyers for canola or anything. If buyers could have been found, it would have already been done, but it wasn't. No, 3% is very little, insignificant. quote For the average of the three years, 2020/21-2022/23: The total economic impact on the Canadian economy from the canola sector averaged C$43.7 billion per year. 206,000 full time equivalent jobs are supported by the canola sector, comprising almost 142,000 paid jobs and an additional 65,000 family members (beyond the growers themselves) who support and are supported by canola farming operations. The total wage impact of the sector averaged C$16.3 billion. unquote Canola’s economic impact: growing opportunity for all Canadians1 point

You're 100% f'ing wrong. This is not a subjective issue, Michael, so regardless of your precious feewings, you said something that was incorrect. One person in that church, Don Lemon, was extremely racist, and said racist things. He slandered everyone else there. Other people on the planet sometimes are, sometimes aren't racist, but no one in that church congregation is alleged to have done or said anything even remotely racist, so you don't get to paint them all with the "maybe racist" brush, just to give Lemon's libel and slander some fake credibility. Lemon could be in line for a libel suit, which is not gonna be small.1 point

Not sure what all the fuss is about regarding this speech. Carney takes some thinly veiled jabs at Trump and the US and of course most people love that. Brian Lilley of The Sun makes a great point about that aspect of Carney's speech. "Much of his speech was about the great power rivalry that is happening between the US, China and Russia. The problem is that he was highly critical in the Americans walking away from the international rules-based order while not acknowledging that China and Russia walked away from it years if not decades ago." And now, Mark Carney is cozying up up to China, which of course gets a pass when it comes to it's dismal human rights record.1 point

The Prime Minister’s polished Davos speech wasn’t a call to truth — it was a sermon in deception, repackaging contradictions as a global vision. I listened with genuine interest to Prime Minister Carney’s speech at Davos. It was, by any technical measure, one of his better performances. Polished, confident, impeccably delivered. If one were unfamiliar with the actual state of affairs, if one were blissfully ignorant of the realities beneath what he calls the “rupture” in international relations, the speech might have appeared a beacon of hope in dark times. And therein lies the problem. One must either be ignorant of the facts or willing to live a lie. The rest here...Yes the Western Standard, don't let your heads explode. https://www.westernstandard.news/opinion/albers-mark-carneys-wef-delusion-naming-the-great-lie-behind-the-new-world-order/705471 point

There’s a cultural problem in Canada on the EDI and “post-colonialism” front. The Wall Street Journal mocked us in an article speculating that in the case of an invasion of Greenland, Canada’s main concern would be making sure representation of the Canadian military contribution is inclusive and diverse. Canada is the poster child of ridiculous progressive activism. We also shoot ourselves in the foot hating on our history and “colonial” founding peoples. We’re also outliers on MAID and hard drug permissiveness. Canada has become known as a place of reckless social experiments and excessive government programs supporting radical progressive causes. It’s embarrassing. This image needs to be shed asap.1 point
