  1. Islamophobia .... A word invented by Muslims to force the world to protect 2 billion of them from 7 million Jews. Guess which side of the spectrum fell for it.

  4. It is a kind of contradiction that PM Mark Carney has a history of being a devout Catholic, yet here he is leading a party which is ideologically contrary to many values held dear by Catholics. He was and still may be on some kind of Vatican committee. I should mention I disagree with the Liberal Party on much of their ideology as I believe it is contrary to Biblical teaching. It is a contradiction for someone who calls himself a Christian to be a part of such a party. This Catholic Register article describes this is some detail: " A Catholic’s caution about Mark Carney Questions raised about Liberal leader and his party’s principles Some Canadian Catholics are eager to have a prime minister who shares their faith yet offers a contrast to Justin Trudeau. Mark Carney appears to fit the bill. In 2015, while serving as Governor of the Bank of England, Carney was named Britain’s “most influential Catholic” by The Tablet. My co-religionists would be wise, however, to look beyond flattering headlines and critically examine the political machinery Carney represents. Carney is no moderate. Nor is he a reformer. He is a well-connected globalist with deep ties to institutions such as the World Economic Forum, the United Nations, Bank for International Settlements, and the Financial Stability Board. These organizations place little value on national sovereignty, individual liberty, or democratic accountability. His rise is not rooted in public trust or grassroots support. It’s the product of backroom deals, media adoration, and elite coordination. The need for “Catholic Carney caution” goes well beyond the veteran national banker’s personal strengths and weaknesses. It is rooted in the very party he has chosen to lead. The federal Liberal Party has long been Canada’s most aggressive force opposing Catholic social teaching. It pushes policies that are openly hostile to the Church’s moral framework. This is the party that: Labels opposition to abortion as “misogyny” and being “anti-women” Proposes revoking the charitable status of “anti-abortion organizations” and seeks to amend the Income Tax Act to eliminate “the advancement of religion” as a charitable purpose Aggressively promotes Medical Assistance in Dying (MAiD), turning euthanasia into a default “solution” for those suffering from poverty, mental illness, or disability Advances radical gender ideology, pressuring institutions – including Catholic schools –to adopt policies that contradict basic Catholic anthropology, including the sterilization and chemical castration of vulnerable children The concerns don’t end there. The party Carney leads also: Demonizes political dissidents Demonizes those who stand for medical freedom and against coercive vaccine mandates Freezes the bank accounts of peaceful protestors Shows sympathy toward Communist China Promotes censorship and restricts free speech through legislation such as Bill C-16 and Bill C-4 This is not a party that tolerates dissenting views rooted in Catholic moral teaching, let alone advocates for them. Carney’s Liberal party alignment raises serious questions about the principles that will shape his leadership. Concern extends beyond personal religious consistency. Canadians, Catholic or otherwise, must consider the broader consequences of a government led by Mark Carney: Continuation of the Trudeau era’s economic failures: Reckless spending, heavy taxation, and inflationary policies disguised with buzzwords like “green transformation” Opposition to financial decentralization: As a lifelong central banker, Carney is a vocal critic of Bitcoin and other decentralized cryptocurrencies, which challenge centralized monetary control. While the world increasingly embraces financial independence through digital currencies, Carney is committed to preserving central bank dominance by ensuring Canadians remain tied to inflationary fiat currency Expansion of financial surveillance Preference for global elites over Canadian citizens: Through his involvement with the World Economic Forum and similar global institutions, Carney shows his priorities lie with transnational technocrats – not ordinary Canadians An undemocratic path to power: Carney’s political rise is not a reflection of popular support. It’s the result of elite orchestration. Less than 0.5% of Canadians had any say in his leadership Mass Immigration: Mark Carney recently appointed Mark Wiseman chair of the Century Initiative, an organization advocating for a Canadian population of 100 million by the end of the century. Wiseman has said publicly Canada should eliminate all immigration screening and adopt an open-door policy Carney is not a neutral technocrat. He represents the calculated continuation of a political order built on control and centralization of power. He is Trudeau 2.0. Whether religious or not, all Canadians should recognize he does not represent renewal but the culmination of everything that has gone wrong in Canadian leadership. This is undoubtedly a time for vigilance. A leadership of Trudeau 2.0 offers no path to renewal. It will only intensify Canada’s deepening crisis. As the nation faces escalating challenges, including looming Trump-era tariffs, the real threat does not come from the United States per se, but from the transnational institutions Carney represents. In the upcoming election, Canadians must restore national direction and democratic accountability. Despite his Catholic faith, that requires passing over Mark Carney for prime minister. unquote A Catholic’s caution about Mark Carney | The Catholic Register There are many serious concerns in this report that stand out. I would commend the Catholic Register for bringing these concerns to light. A major concern is his disdain for personal freedom. The authoritarianism of the Liberal party fits well with PM Carney. He is a globalist as well and it appears a believer in mass immigration. There are many other beliefs he holds that we need to examine and be prepared for where this is taking Canada. Unfortunately very few Canadians had any say in choosing him as PM; yet there he is. Is that really how a democracy should work? Since he is the PM, I believe this is a topic well worthy of consideration.

  5. Oh f*ck Mr M0ron is back again. Still not having Googled what a straw man fallacy even is. It is not discussing two sides of the same coin. My kid got sent home to change his t-shirt that said P*RNSTAR (with a star for the O) and that's proper and fair. Offensive is offensive and school is not your own home. The student in question is free to wear that shirt to and from school and at home. Principals and School Boards need to make the decisions and not politicians pandering to zealots like Florida and now Alberta. WHO decides. Point being it depends who is judging: a sane person or some raving zealot, does it offend the people attending or people who don't even see or read it?

  8. I could name you some names you'd instantly recognize. But gay implies a chosen sexuality and you actually haven't chosen for sure until after you're out of school. Or hell, most probably never even had sex in those days. Nowadays these bans are about anything that doesn't condemn LGBTQ or mentions any sexuality at all. The zealots seem to want to go back to movies where married people had separate beds, 'down there' was just the thing you peed from, and Mom & Dad had 'the talk' when you were 21.. I mean honestly, banning a book about Two Moms when some of their classmates have two moms seems a bit assholic.

  10. This isn't about liberals and conservatives... it's about average people running afoul of laws they didn't know existed on the worst day of their lives. There are traps for the unwary that I would argue put the home owner at a distinct disadvantage simply because they haven't thought it all through. Ohhhhh...It does matter, what you use, how you use it and the intent behind its use most definitely does. Frankly, I don't care who does it or what their motivations are, it needs to be addressed. This particular event is nothing more than the catalyst for addressing an issue that needs addressing regardless of what the circumstances or outcome end up being. Depending on what you say after the fact, and your intent in carrying it, that soup can will be deemed a defensive weapon that you had no legal right to carry for the purpose you carried it. Defensive canes are an interesting exception I think, your reason for carrying it is between you and you Doctor and your medical history is not something you are compelled to explain to a responding officer. I don't know that he is... and if he is I don't even care. I would applaud JT if he had done the same thing.

  14. Again, that's not actually the issue here. With a bit of research and common sense most people can navigate it. There are two issues here that bug me (actually there are a bunch of them but I'll only mention two) 1. The prosecution aspect - we've discussed it a bit here but haven't gotten into the weeds with it. Suffice it to say it can really ruin your day financially, personally and professionally. 2. The fact that virtually anything is deemed a weapon once it is used as a weapon. That means the can of soup you carried to work on the bus and the bear spray you walked out of the house with at 2am. Intent is a thing here... you have to be careful what you say. Here's what I mean (and I'm not suggesting that anyone lie about it either): You go outside at 2 am with bear spray and find someone stealing equipment out of your shed. He rushes the only exit which is now directly in front of you, you hose him down, make an arrest without warrant since you witnessed an indictable offence, the police arrive and cart the bad boy away. Now here's a possible question in the form of an elicitation: "Good job on that arrest sir, looks like it went smoother than most of mine do, good thing you took that bear spray out with you eh?" ----You're in a state of shock here and forgot to note the wind direction before unloading the spray, if you haven't done that it's not fun and it's definitely not the best time for this discussion but you think you're just having a friendly chat with a nice officer... but you actually aren't.---- YOU SAY: Thanks, ya... when I saw him there I brought it along just in case. Good thing eh? I SAY: "We have a bear and racoon problem here (we do by the way) and when I heard the noise that's what I thought it was." Note though, I wouldn't actually say that until the following morning after talking to a lawyer. In this case you are authorized to make an arrest and use what ever force is reasonable to effect it... but are you authorized to carry pepper spray in the course of making a deliberate arrest of someone you saw before you left the house? This is all infinitely variable and I'm not going to write a book here, it could actually be a 100 page thread and we've only scratched the surface of it. It really isn't a partisan issue at all, real people get caught up in this stuff and are hurt by it even if the pain is financial. Bad guys don't invade houses based on the political persuasion of the occupants, this can happen to anyone.

  18. From what I've heard, most of these don't actually go to court, they're fairly cut and dried and the charges are dropped prior to the court date; that speaks to systemic integrity and IMO it needs to change. The point here... the one that keeps getting missed (and deliberately so IMO) is that the Crown knew there was no reasonable expectation of a conviction from the get go, they simply make you jump through the hoops at great expense as a deterrent to others. It will take a year to sort it out, you'll be dragged through the mud and all of your guns will be confiscated regardless of whether they were part of the scenario or not. The cost (and stress) of all this to an individual who may already be traumatized by the event speaks to prosecutorial integrity. That integrity, and/or the lack of it is what the issue under discussion is about. Deciding to defend yourself in court is almost as bad as spilling your guts to the police on fight night... but you do you, I'm rooting for ya.

  20. The term was popularized by the Muslim Brotherhood. https://europeanacademyofreligionandsociety.com/news/islamophobia-the-origins-of-a-confusing-concept/ That's kind of amusing given that when Islam takes over a country the first thing it does is kill hundreds of thousands of lefties. Ah, but they're going to integrate and become just like us! When? Because change comes awfully slowly to the Muslims. For example, around about the year 1200 the Muslim world largely did away with science and philsophy. The only thing anyone needed to study, their rulers waid, was the Quaran. Barbaric, yes? You'd think that wouldn't have lasted long. But it's barely changed to this day. Only 4 Muslims have ever won a nobel prize for science and all were working in the West. So when do Muslims change and integrate? Canada studies NOTHING about its Muslims. We know nothing about their crime rate other than the constant parade of Muslim names in the papers. We know nothing of their employment rate and nothing about whether they are or are not integrating. Studying such things is not considered acceptable here. What if the study suggested bad things about Muslims? We can't have that! In the UK, though, a number of surveys have been done and found the attitudes of Muslims there are quite hostile to the West and Western ideas. A study of British Muslims last year showed only 25% thought Hamas had commited any crimes on Oct 7, and only 24% have a negative view of Hamas. 57% want compulsory use of only Halal food in all schools and hospitals. Only 23% think it undesirable for there to be Sharia law in the UK. But hey, 27% think it would be undesirable to outlaw homosexuality. And it doesn't get any better in those born and raised in the UK. https://henryjacksonsociety.org/wp-content/uploads/2024/04/HJS-Deck-200324-Final.pdf

  22. Whilst not a literal 9 in 10, several sources confirm a significant and worsening primary care access crisis in Canada. The difficulties are caused by provider shortages, inefficient care models, and significant barriers to timely appointments. Declining access to a regular provider: In 2023, only 86% of Canadian adults had a regular health care provider, down from 93% in 2016. This is the lowest rate among 10 peer countries surveyed by the Commonwealth Fund.

  23. Life. Plus, there's this, which shows that less than a quarter of Canadians could get quick access to their doctor - presuming they had one given 17% don't have and can't get a family doctor. That's the lowest of all countries studied, btw, certainly lower than in the US. Added to that is the long wait times to see specialists, averaging 30 weeks in Canada. Much longer than in the US. All in all, you can get faster access to health care in the US than in Canada.

  25. I am well aware of what happened in India. Hindus, Sikhs and Muslims all lost their lives in huge numbers in the partition there. That was wrong and what happened in Palestine was wrong too. One wrong does not justify the other. As a secular social democrat I believe religion should play no part in the running of the state. Unfortunately, governments in Sri Lanka and Pakistan and more recently in India itself have all chosen to stoke sectarian conflict for political advantage. Muhammad’s story is indeed an odd one for a religious leader but there are a fair few rum coves in the Old Testament too - a weird book for modern readers. We have to bear in mind that these were in part desert survival guides where danger was constantly looming.

  33. 9 out of 10? Bullshit. Never mind that, why are so many of you righties obsessed with imagining you live in some developing world so-called shithole? Speaking of which it'll be just like the 50's in the US soon, they're on a roll. But seriously 9 out of 10? Maybe where you live but here they're putting the finishing touches on our brand new expanded medical center. I met what appears will be my forever GP a few months ago, she has a nose ring and loves to surf, seems to be living the dream too. And there's another moving to town as well and apparently they'll also be keeping the nurse practitioners they brought in the last couple years. Meanwhile my medical team has kept close tabs on my cancer (3.5 years free now so far 👍) and the alien in my chest seems to have gone back into hibernation. A couple of my numbers actually went back closer to normal. I'm getting better...probably within the margin of error I know but I'll take it! Maybe you recall my mentioning I was diagnosed, operated on and started heading down Recovery Road from cancer right in the middle of COVID. The system seems to be working great in my case, what can I say? It's just not and hasn't been anywhere near as bad as so many righties tell me. And I've been known to be pretty pessimistic. Retiring still doesn't make sense either, things just keep getting better. My income and revenues appear to up about 10% this year over last...just like last years was...who should I blame for that? The bastards. I don't know, maybe you just live closer to the business end of the shit hole.

"Those exempt from paying the $100 fee include health-care workers; residents of continuing-care homes and senior living accommodations; home-care clients; individuals with underlying medical conditions and compromised immune systems; individuals experiencing homelessness; and seniors (65 and older) who receive the Alberta Seniors Benefit." 401,000 doses wasted at a cost of $44.1 million is a bit of a gut punch. Waste is always a prime concern especially in healthcare where dollars are stretched to the limit. Taking into account the short shelf life of covid vaccine, and not having at least fairly accurate figures of the number of people who want to get vaccinated.... are there no other avenues to try in eliminating much of that waste? I can think of a few but they themselves involve cost.

  36. It was nice of you to remind the lieberal leftist troll and let him know that Turdeau was forced out of office because he was a complete disaster for Canada and Canadians. Today, we do not recognize Canada anymore. It is fast becoming and looking like a 3rd world shit hole thanks in part to the millions of foreign born 3rd world immigrants being brought into Canada that should not be here in the first place. Now we have a housing crisis, a social and medical crisis, infrastructure and environmental crisis and a real and true immigration crisis, and all thanks to lieberalism. Companies and businesses are now allowed to go after new cheap labor employees from countries like India and Pakistan to take jobs away from white Canadians. We are losing our country right in front of our faces and no one seems to care, especially, exflyer the leftist liberal troll. That troll is enjoying watching Canada go down the drain. Just my opinion.

  37. Massive 3rd world immigration invasion which is costing the Canadian taxpayer's billions and sending billions of our tax dollars to Ukraine is the main reason why our medical system and immigration system is broken. If we could put a halt to massive 3rd world immigration, and massive amounts in foreign aid, hundreds of billions of our tax dollars could go to where it is needed. Helping Canadians and not the rest of the bloody world. But ask those lieberal buffoons here as to why they keep on wanting to support lieberals? They will no doubt say that is it is all the fault of the conservatives and taxme. Exflyer here is just another lieberal troll here spreading lies and bullshit about conservatives to try and cover up as to what the lying lieberals and their bullshit have been doing to Canada and Canadians in the past ten years and now have four more years of Carnage the barbarian to make things even worse.
