  1. Living under Russian rule is a catastrophe that Ukrainians have been willing to die to avoid. They understand what it means far better than we do and it’s for future generations that this war is being fought. Putin knows this as well. The prospect of Eastern Slavs living free, prosperous lives in the EU would be a constant rebuke to his ramshackle tyranny.

  2. Nope... what? Your statement about Trump negotiating the minerals deal has nothing to do with what Democrats were doing in this meeting. This was a picture posted by Democrat Senator Murphy with the message from Democrat Senator Murphy. The taploid trash did not do anything more than post this Op/Ed sharing that information. Once again, you can't argue the facts, so you just play the dishonest game of attacking the source.

  6. There aren't going to be any reparations anyways because it was never really a war of aggression: it has always been a proxy war, instigated by the US. The US orchestrated the Euromaidan protests, decided Ukraine's President and top prosecutor, backed Ukraine's attacks against their ethnic-Russian minority population, and kept pushing the Ukraine-in -NATO dagger at Russia's throat. And the UN General Assembly can never cram that BS down Russia's throat either because they have all the BRICS support, with no less than 2 vetoes among them.

  7. Yep, you saw a 'live feed' with your own eyes and are still blind. Why in hell would anyone want to sabotage a deal that they themselves proposed in the first place?????

  8. They did: ** In fact, as early as February 16 [2022], Joe Biden knows that the Ukrainians began to shell the civilian populations of Donbass, putting Vladimir Putin in front of a difficult choice: to help Donbass militarily and create an international problem or to sit idle and watch Russian speakers from the Donbass being run over. If he decides to intervene, Vladimir Putin can invoke the international obligation of “ Responsibility To Protect ” (R2P). But he knows that whatever its nature or scale, the intervention will trigger a shower of sanctions. Therefore, whether its intervention is limited to the Donbass or whether it goes further to put pressure on the West for the status of Ukraine, the price to be paid will be the same. This is what he explains in his speech on February 21. That day, he acceded to the request of the Duma and recognized the independence of the two Republics of Donbass and, in the process, he signed treaties of friendship and assistance with them. The Ukrainian artillery bombardments on the populations of Donbass continued and, on February 23, the two Republics requested military aid from Russia. On the 24th, Vladimir Putin invokes Article 51 of the United Nations Charter which provides for mutual military assistance within the framework of a defensive alliance. In order to make the Russian intervention totally illegal in the eyes of the public we deliberately obscure the fact that the war actually started on February 16th. The Ukrainian army was preparing to attack the Donbass as early as 2021, as certain Russian and European intelligence services were well aware… The lawyers will judge. ** Full article: https://scheerpost.com/2022/04/09/former-nato-military-analyst-blows-the-whistle-on-wests-ukraine-invasion-narrative/

  10. Yeah, I just couldn't resist. Mainly because myata seems to see things in such extremes. Like, with regard to Trump, not only does he see him as evil. Everything and anyone associated with him is evil. People who disagree with him are evil. MAGA is evil. And things that he likes are glorified. He doesn't simply support Ukraine, it is now the new land of the free and home of the brave, while the US is turning into Mordor.

A collective decision. https://abcnews.go.com/International/ukraine-parliament-affirms-elections-wartime-rebuff-trump/story?id=116193627 Th UK did not have any elections during WWII. Churchill was Prime Minister throughout the war. France did not have elections during WWII. Other countries delayed, postponed or just did not have elections during war times. https://www.idea.int/news/explainer-conducting-elections-during-war

  13. KYIV, Feb 4 (Reuters) - President Volodymyr Zelenskiy visited Ukrainian troops on the southeastern front and handed out medals, his office said on Sunday, and his spokesperson said he came very close to exchanges of fire on the front line. Zelenskiy undertook the journey to Zaporizhzhia region amid speculation that his popular army chief could soon be sacked. The president, who has frequently toured areas close to the front, met soldiers in the village of Robotyne, his office said, almost on the battle line. https://www.reuters.com/world/europe/zelenskiy-visits-front-line-amid-speculation-about-fate-top-general-2024-02-04/ Yeah, that's what I said at the time. But it's true.

  14. You know, speculation is fine. But if the Biden administration was influenced by Russian money it sure didn't show in their actions. Putin would own Ukraine had it not been for Biden leading Western allies and pumping money and weapons in. On the other hand, everything Trump has done so far has been pleasing to Putin. Hell, he's even ordered the Army's cybercommand to cease all preparations for or actions to deter Russian hacking in the US. He's done nothing but praise the man like a sycophant for years, even spouting utter nonsense like accusing Ukraine of attacking Russia. Now he's cut off weapons to Ukraine after kicking him out of the White House for daring to criticize Putin. Because they didn't investigate Russian loans to Trump Enterprises. They restricted themselves to investigation direct evidence of collusion between the Trump campaign and Russians.

  15. You guys understand that Myata is not an English speaker, right? He is posting diatribes from what he's run through Google Translate. That's why he rarely responds directly. He's just copying and pasting. He doesn't fully understand what is going on here. He also posts from about midnight to one or two pm every day. Add 6 or 7 hours and that starts to sound like normal businesses in Europe.

  21. This doesn't look good. The American people deserve to know exactly what Democrats were telling Zelensky in this meeting. “Just finished a meeting with President Zelensky here in Washington. He confirmed that the Ukrainian people will not support a fake peace agreement where Putin gets everything he wants and there are no security arrangements for Ukraine,” Murphy’s office posted on X at 11:15 a.m. Friday. He attached a picture of Zelensky at a conference table, with Murphy seated on the opposite side." https://nypost.com/2025/03/01/opinion/dems-lead-zelensky-ukraine-off-a-cliff-with-pressure-to-reject-mineral-deal/?fbclid=IwY2xjawIxcHxleHRuA2FlbQIxMQABHVWRB5sF93SCaVTDjV-j3Xsau9XIPsw7Wr8gS-g1z9A-CFs6M2T6_j4ejA_aem_6FQBadyyvpTD45qv1rGu1w

  23. While the role of the Governor General is significantly restricted by conventions, it is not entirely symbolic.[13] On rare occasions, a Governor General can exercise personal discretion, meaning that he or she can act independently of prime ministerial advice. This ability to exercise personal discretion revolves around the Governor General's “reserve powers.”[14] Two established reserve powers are the Governor General's authority to refuse a prime minister's request to dissolve Parliament and the right to appoint and dismiss a prime minister.

  25. I don't think that they should have cut it shorter. I think that we all learned something from that conversation, and it's something that CNN et al never would have allowed their cultist dolts to hear: Zelenski is against a cease-fire. I don't really care about the mineral deal. Whether it's a workaround for the US to get troops on Ukrainian soil without them joining NATO - ostensibly to protect their own rights - or if it's legitimately for the US to get some money back, I don't care about it. I just want the war to end. One last thing: Trump's solution to the end of the war is "brilliant" from an old-school colonizationist POV: Russia gets part of Ukraine and all the natural resources there, the US gets an embarrassment of mineral wealth which is actually quite a strategic haul militarily, and the proxy war is over. Ukraine, after losing all that land and burying all their children, just gets one last shot up the arse. The Demis and their cultist-dolt horde would love it if Biden got that deal signed, but of course the Dems would sabotage a coup like that for Trump.

  32. One thing they do deserve credit for is at least they have been more calculating about how they do it than left wing media south of the border. It's still quite obvious, but it's less sensational than how MSNBC would try to smear Republicans. Some people might say it was Trump himself that trolled them into behaving that way, but it was going on back when Romney and Ryan were gonna throw grandma off a cliff. The CBC is at least is more subtle. Rather than non-stop sensational claims, they will run stories that are more suggestive of nefarious things. They might suggest Pierre is connected to Diagolon because he shook someone's hand. Or suggest that he is taking a page out of Trump's playbook. It's often speculative. No real evidence to accuse him of anything, but also they don't make outright accusations. They just do enough to build the association in your mind.

  39. @TreeBeard 1) Polls are always fake, and the polls in NA are all designed to make the Dems/Libs look good. Whatever they say, it's pretty standard that you flip them by 5% in favour of the conservatives. 2) https://newsinteractives.cbc.ca/elections/poll-tracker/canada/ That's Feb 23. With any luck, the Bloc will shut the LPOC out of Quebec, and the NDP will sap enough votes away from them to keep their overall numbers in the low single-digits. I think the NDP will win a few seats in BC and Ontario, that's it. If this country is going to survive, we need a strong majority for Poilievre.
