Take a look at this subject. What you see is thread after thread of Libbie panic to save the corruption of the US political system. USAID has been shown to have corrupted the media and paid for all sorts of ridiculous garbage. The Department of Education has been a money-pit for decades. Several states are refusing to work with ICE to clear criminals from US neighborhoods. Hell they've even attacked the NYC mayor for wanting to clean up the streets. These are not the actions of patriots. They are the actions of those who wish to destroy the USA. They are, in fact, traitors. Treat them as such.3 points

I've been re-thinking my feelings towards our American neighbours. I found the booing of the US national anthem very disturbing. We are going to have a difficult time for the next few years, but so are the Americans. While President Trump is woefully ill equipped for the role, he was democratically elected and he will be out of office in 204 weeks, 4 days, 17 hours and 12 minutes. (Give or take, depending on how soon I post this). We need to focus on making the recovery when it is over as painless as possible. While tensions are strained, Americans need to know that what ever happens, when they need us, we will be there for them. We have invested decades into building an incredible bond. We cannot let their current difficulties damage that. They are going through a troubled time and we are here for them more than ever.2 points

We need to end this obsession with race. Race is no different than hair or eye color. If you read this article, you'll see the author twists and turns trying to justify his racist position that choosing an emoji is a difficult socio-politocal decision. In reality, it should be no different than selecting an eye color.2 points

^This is what happens when IGNORAMUSES take a hatchet to budgets without understanding what they're doing. Just like when they fired all the staff which handles US spy satellites and then had to scramble to hire the specialists back. DOGI: department of government INEFFICIENCY. Same thing happened when Trump 1 had to spend $12B extra to rescue farmers who used to sell soybeans to China.2 points

The Americans will be judged on how they react to trump's attacks on their neighbors. If they're in support of it and don't speak out against trump's blatant attempts to corrupt our sovereignty and destroy our economy then I think it's absolutely justified to hold them in contempt and Malice. But we won't know that till time passes. After all right now there isn't even a canada-specific tariff. We'll see how they handle things as time goes on As to the booing I'm absolutely against that. Sports is an area where we can set aside our politics and what separates us and come together for a moment And just be human beings with each other. Regardless of our nation's differences, regardless of our politics, no matter what divides us it is absolutely critical that we remember that there are things we can enjoy together and are things that connect us, otherwise we will see the other as being inhuman and that is a very very dangerous and destructive thing. They are still people. Even if they're people were mad at2 points

A lot of Canadians? On a personal basis, beyond the National Post, I encountered very few interested in joining America in Iraq and that number dwindled to nothing pretty darn quick. Chrétien showed excellent judgement there. Blair’s decision to send troops ruined his reputation among Labour voters in Britain.2 points

This is how censorship works in Trump's America. A list of about 100 words has been compiled (see the complete list at this link) – words that are flagged in papers submitted to the National Science Foundation for funding. If any of the words appear, the research will not be funded. Examples of offending words: Disability Diversity Equality Female (but not male) Gender Inclusivity Minority Racial/racism Trauma Victim Women (but not men)1 point

Maybe they need a new perception. My family was driven out of Europe about the same time. Many family members dead, horrible hardship. lost all their land. So we and everyone else who suffered had a choice - start a new life and live in peace or throw away our future trying to go back and fight something we can't win and watch all of the family die or suffer all over again. They made the right choice, we've prospered and thrived in Canada and done very well for ourselves. The palestinians seem to want to make another choice, and continue to die and live in misery and poverty. If that was the only choice and they had no other they'd have my sympathy. But they do have other choices. So their current living conditions are their choice, not anyone else's fault. They COULD do things differently. they could have peace if they wanted. They could prosper if they wanted. Within the borders of israel or elsewhere. If this is what they choose then fine, that's their choice. But don't expect me to feel bad about the consequences of their choice.1 point

What was the date and time of this shelling occurring they are claiming was happening before Russia got involved? What do you claim is the date and time Russia got involved? What is the shelling that occurred you are talking about? What are the attacks against the local government you are referring to that happened before Russia got involved? From former Swiss Intelligence Officer Jacques Baud's article on the subject: ** On February 17 [2022], President Joe Biden announces that Russia will attack Ukraine in the coming days. How does he know? Mystery… But since the 16th, the artillery shelling of the populations of Donbass has increased dramatically, as shown by the daily reports of OSCE observers. Naturally, neither the media, nor the European Union, nor NATO, nor any Western government reacts and intervenes. We will say later that this is Russian disinformation. In fact, it seems that the European Union and some countries purposely glossed over the massacre of the people of Donbass, knowing that it would provoke Russian intervention. [snip] In fact, as early as February 16, Joe Biden knows that the Ukrainians began to shell the civilian populations of Donbass, putting Vladimir Putin in front of a difficult choice: to help Donbass militarily and create an international problem or to sit idle and watch Russian speakers from the Donbass being run over. If he decides to intervene, Vladimir Putin can invoke the international obligation of “ Responsibility To Protect ” (R2P). But he knows that whatever its nature or scale, the intervention will trigger a shower of sanctions. Therefore, whether its intervention is limited to the Donbass or whether it goes further to put pressure on the West for the status of Ukraine, the price to be paid will be the same. This is what he explains in his speech on February 21. That day, he acceded to the request of the Duma and recognized the independence of the two Republics of Donbass and, in the process, he signed treaties of friendship and assistance with them. The Ukrainian artillery bombardments on the populations of Donbass continued and, on February 23, the two Republics requested military aid from Russia. On the 24th, Vladimir Putin invokes Article 51 of the United Nations Charter which provides for mutual military assistance within the framework of a defensive alliance. In order to make the Russian intervention totally illegal in the eyes of the public we deliberately obscure the fact that the war actually started on February 16th. The Ukrainian army was preparing to attack the Donbass as early as 2021, as certain Russian and European intelligence services were well aware… The lawyers will judge. ** Source: Former NATO Military Analyst Blows the Whistle on West’s Ukraine Invasion Narrative | Scheerpost1 point

And the concluding remarks. 1. An election in the environment of non-existent or compromised rule of law can be meaningless. "It can never happen" to us, the idea? 2. A society that decides the choice solely on "economic performance" can be classified as authoritarianism- and/or fascism-ready. If it stopped caring about: the rule of law; the functioning of democracy; general and universal principles of freedom and democracy; and even, the objective reality itself such a society can elect fascism and has done it, and not once. And importantly, this condition is already the past, done and sealed.1 point

Trump’s hubris is a softer version of Putin’s and the mistake of all dictators or “strong man” leaders, which is to make top down decisions that treat people at the grassroots level like pawns in a chess match. The only true democracy is one that prioritizes decision-making at the local level. Did the people of eastern Ukraine want to be part of Russia or Ukraine or independent? When does a foreign power have the right to invade another sovereign country? Unless there’s a clear threat to the security of the invading country, for example in retaliation for an attack, there’s seldom a good reason for an unelected power to impose authority on a population. Ukraine is complicated in that the Crimea used to be part of Russia. So was some of eastern Ukraine. What’s more, Russia had significant military assets in the Crimea. The Western powers further complicated matters by trying to manipulate the governance of Ukraine and reneging on assurances that NATO wouldn’t spread east. Now the U.S. has to avoid making the same mistake of ignoring the will of the local populations in Ukraine as well as the countries surrounding it. If the U.S. acts unilaterally and doesn’t share responsibility, it carries the sole weight of responsibility if its resolutions fail. That’s the point of having allies and using alliances. In seeking to go it alone, the U.S. is actually taking greater risks to its own security and standing. There were good reasons why NATO formed after WW2. With the collapse of the Soviet Union, there was an opportunity to include Russia in a genuine alliance, which likely would’ve enshrined greater democracy in Russia and greater security in Eastern Europe, without threat of invasion. Instead the imperial pissing contests continue. All eggs go in the great power China, US, Russia baskets, which makes the smaller powers outside them subject to dominance and proxy wars. It’s stupid and unnecessary. The tariff war is part of the same movement on the economic front. It instills a race for greater power militarily and greater economic independence because no one can count on the great powers adhering to rules or agreements. Europe, for all its dysfunction, can be a counter weight. The Commonwealth and other political and economic alliances can be counter weights. The UN is at the mercy of the vetoes of the permanent members of the Security Council, a few of which are those great powers.1 point

It isn't or you would have explained why. Instead you just simply say "Noooooooo!!! U rong bad man! " and "trump orange man bad!". . Trump's actions are not unprecedented in the slightest. Here ya go. And these guys went easy on him. Obama’s curtain call: A look back on a legacy of executive overreach As i said obama was horrible for it, where do you think trump began to learn this from? And biden was just as bad. His student loan payment scheme for example, a brutal overreach that the supreme court shot down in the end, as well as his attempt to rig the definition of "waters". And there were many he passed. So trump isn't "unprecedented" at all. There's a long history of it. Now. Where were you when all this was happening? Yeah, you're half a decade too late to be worrying about that anymore. Sorry that's done and has nothing to do with what he's doing right now. Nope. As I've noted he's not even the second. Obama was every bit as bad if not worse and so was Biden when he was awake Nope. Obama has done the same thing. His was called the intersectional coalition. And it was very cult like. So here's the problem. You either don't know your history, or you turn a blind eye to your history because it doesn't suit your narrative. Once again your hatred bigotry and tribalism has led you to applaud when the democrats do it and cry to the heavens when the republicans do. And people have caught on to that and that's why the democrats aren't doing so well right now. Trump isn't doing anything new. This didn't happen in a vacuum. But you said nothing and stood silently by when people you liked did exactly the same thing or worse so now that you're complaining nobody's interested in what you have to say. You've already normalized this Behavior, and I've said about a trillion times now, anything you do will be used against you in the future so you have to care about what your people are doing today and you didn't and now there's a price1 point

61 minutes. They added extra time to edit Kamala's interview to make it seem somewhat coherent. And Trump didn't eliminate the USAID, he downsized it and moved the offices into the state department. The state department was administering USAID, so it is constitutional.1 point

There are concerns over that. The office of the president has been stealing a little bit more and more power for itself for some time, but you're really late to the party. A lot of people raised these concerns vigorously under Obama who is terrible for it but everyone cheered him on. Trump didn't do much on his first run because he was too new at the job to really understand how to take advantage of it but biden certainly overstepped and took more and more into his purview and eroded the protections a little bit further. Now trump is coming along and pushing the envelope and you guys all of a sudden are horribly terribly concerned about authoritarianism. You don't get to show up 12 years too late and scream about how we should pump the brakes on that. This is something that democrats have not been listening to for a number of years now: Everything you do will be turned against you. If you create new powers or you find a way to bypass something then the next guy's going to do it. If you weaponize the courts against your opponents the next guy is going to do it. If you create fake dossiers and weaponize the FBI to go after your opponents the next guy's going to do it. And it's way too late to complain at that point because nobody's listening because you've already normalized it. All you can hope for at this point is that trump loses the midterms by enough so that an impeachment process would actually get through the senate. If that happens then he will be far more careful knowing that he could be impeached and thrown out at any time. And that is certainly doable. But the big takeaway here is that in the future if you see someone abusing the system or cutting corners or taking powers that they shouldn't have or even threatening to even if he's on your own team you want to jump up and scream about that and organize others to do the same because it will be too late when it's the other guy if you let your guy get away with it1 point

One libel case against Fox News. Many dozens against CNN. They probably will all amount up too many more millions then the paltry $800 million that Fox News had to pay out. We will never hear about the many libel suits brought against and on CNN. Shocking indeed. Ha-ha-ha. Fox News has been reporting for over four years now about the border crisis at the Mexican border while BiDumb was the president. Millions of illegals entered America illegally under BiDumb and BiDumb did nothing about it while he was the president of a corrupt and incompetent democratic government. Tens of thousands of criminals were allowed into America under BiDumb. Drugs of fentanyl poured into America under BiDumb. It is left wing liberals like you that are made ignorant of the facts as to what was going on at the border under BiDumb. CNN never told you like Fox News did, now did they? There is nothing you need to know about Canadian politics. It stinks. Canadian politics is just as corrupt and incompetent as BiDumbs government was. At least Americans are learning more about how corrupt American politics has been under BiDumb. You should be happy to see Trump clean out the deep state house of horrors. 🤗1 point

The relationship between politics and science is an interesting one. I suppose we can say that all scientists have a particular political ideology. it is well known that scientists donate more to the Democrat party than the Republican party. What does this reveal? Not a dark plot, but rather a recognition that the Democrat party is more progressive, and science by its very nature is progressive, too. It's a natural fit.1 point

They are cutting funding to research which supports a political agenda rather than provides needed research. Lesbian dance theory research does not benefit America as a whole nor is it necessary. And they're not cutting funding at all they're saying that what funding there is will not go to that particular topic. And while it might be a stretch to say that that's supporting lies it absolutely is not a stretch to say it is supporting propaganda and a political agenda rather than honest research. They're absolutely right to say we're not interested in that anymore1 point

A headline from the Epoch Times today : BC Firm Drops Decade-Old Refinery Project for Alberta Oil Exports " A British Columbia company has cancelled plans to build an oil refinery on the province’s north coast that would have processed northern Alberta oil for export to Asian markets. Announced in 2014, the Pacific Future Energy refinery project was billed as the “world’s greenest refinery,” with a commitment to operate as a near-net-zero carbon emission refinery and reduce spill risks by shipping refined products instead of heavy oil. The project, which would have refined roughly 200,000 barrels of bitumen per day, had been undergoing environmental assessment since 2016. But in an email in December, Pacific Future Energy’s chief executive officer Samer Salameh notified the government that the company would not proceed with the project. “We hereby terminate our application,” Salameh wrote in a Dec. 3, 2024, email, without providing a reason for the decision. Federal Environment Minister Steven Guilbeault, in a Feb. 11 letter to Salameh, responded that the company’s environmental assessment had been terminated."1 point
