I mean - what can they say? The evidence is piling up against their position pretty rapidly. We've had our own canadian experts say that we're going way too fast diagnosing kids with 'transgenderism' and dysphoria, and there's been a huge backlash against the left's insistence that parents don't have rights, and now europe is saying they're wrong and it's dangerous. Europe is hardly a right wing place right now Besides they're all over in the thread about how the latest study shows lefties are angry and depressed trying to figure out how to say that they're not angry and depressed without sounding angry and depressed.2 points

Trudeau cuts our co2 in half, what does that do for CC? Absolutely nothing, but breaks a great nation. He is bucking for some big job either with the UN or some other big WOKE organization.2 points

Sigh. So basically you're saying at this point that you have no idea how parliament or our system is designed or operates. Well... not shocked really but still. I'm sure you'd consider any act of democracy to be a waste of parliaments time - it should just stay justin and jagmeet forever and nobody else should be allowed to have a say.2 points

Just how is Carbon Tax a confidence issue? Sheer grandstanding by a populist ass. Never says the tax goes up 3.5ยข or everyone would just say damn! and get on with life. Gotta always refer to it a 23% so uneducated buffoons will think it's a buck and panic.2 points

It also raises the question, what will Pierre Poilievre's policy and position be towards climate change? Behave as if it doesn't matter it is what his supporters appear to want and it looks like that's what PP is delivering.2 points

1. Man-made CO2 is 0.1% to 0.2% of the total atmospheric greenhouse gases. 2. The fossil CO2 emissions of several countries in percentages of all fossil emissions for all countries for 2022 is: Canada 1.511% Australia 1.021% Brazil 1.212% China 32.884% Japan 2.810 % U.S. 12.600% India 6.991% Russia 4.956% --- List of countries by carbon dioxide emissions - Wikipedia The total fossil emissions are so minute it is extremely unlikely in my opinion that this has an affect on climate change. It appears that 99.8 or 99.9% of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere are natural. This is according to information on wikipedia. China's emissions are 32.884% of total man-made CO2 emissions. So no matter what Canada does it will make no difference to the total fossil emissions in the world because Canada's emissions are only 1.511% of the world's fossil emissions. That should be obvious to any reasonable person who looks at these figures.1 point

I asked a Trudeau supporter how much CO2 was in the atmosphere, she said I don't know but it must be in the high 90% range. Then I told her that nitrogen has the highest percentage ratio, Her response, well that's also a pollutant. This is a person with an arts degree. Go figure.1 point

It is a FACT that Trump defaulted on loans to Deusche Bank. It is also FACT that Trump wields enormous political power, and Deusche, for many reasons, may not want to take the stand and say, โYup, weโre a bunch of dummies who were fooled by Donald Trump.โ But what matters here is that it is ILLEGAL to fraudulently state your worth on loan applications. Can you GET THAT THROUGH YOUR SKULL? It is ILLEGAL to lie on those forms. Thatโs the law, Trump broke it. And not over any sort of reasonably arguable amount. All the Trump employees were asked about how they apply generally accepted accounted principles (none of them knew) and what their processes were for assessing the values of these properties (Donald told us and we wrote that down.) If they said that they evaluate the properties by comparing to other comparable properties which recently sold and adjusting in a reasonable fashion, theyโd have been fine. But they had no defense for their egregious lies and now their CFO is going to jail AGAIN, this time on Felony perjury for lying on the witness stand in this case. Why canโt you understand that it has been proven over and over again that this guy is a fraud and a criminal? Wake up! You are brain washed. EVERYTHING about this case is laid out in public record. You can read all of the facts for yourself. The Trump Organization lied repeatedly, over a period exceeding a decade, not by 20% but by hundreds of percents, in stating the value of Trumpโs assets. It is not legal to do this, for good reason. Finally: The man who said heโs worth ten billion dollars and has โ$400 million cash on handโ cannot get w BOND for $485 million. Itโs because he cannot put up $485 million in assets to the bonding agencies to guarantee repayment.1 point

You are really just talking out of your ass again. It has nothing to do with "leftists." Turn off Fox. 1. No one has to "pay" to file an appeal. They just have to provide surety--proof that they can and will pay in the case the appeal is lost. 2. Surety bonds in civil cases go back, literally, thousands of years. 2. I'm no legal historian, but it's been in US federal law since at least 1967--but probably longer. 3. The purpose of the surety bond is to protect ALL parties The court won't be subjected to frivolous and costly appeals that are being used solely as a delay tactic The plaintiff has to wait to collect what's owed, but can be confident that they will be paid in full if the judgment stands -- the defendant won't be hiding or destroying assets owed to plaintiff during the appeal period. The defendant can file the appeal without fear of the plaintiff (who has already won a judgement) seizing the defendant's assets. It protects all parties. And it makes perfect sense as a feature of the process. But because it's inconvenient to Orange Jesus you think this long-established and entirely reasonable legal practice is a "leftist" plot. Yep that's how it is to ignorant bigots. Teaching black history is discrimination against whites. Not taxing natives working on their own reserves is racism against whites. You're thinking of criminal fraud. This is 'civil fraud' which isn't really fraud at all. ITs a fineable offense with a very low burden of 'proof'. The reason they don't need an 'affected party' is that when the law was crafted it was to allow the state to go after people who were genuinely lying to get money even if they paid the money back when they got caught in order to prevent scumbags from using that as a defense. Or if they TRIED to trick the bank they could be pursued even if the bank caught on before they completed the deal. They've twisted that out of shape here. The banks were always satisfied that the loans were sufficently covered. They still are. The loans were paid back as per the agreement. The banks were given every right to verify the info - they really didn't care. The nature of the misinformation was not really relevant as it's such a unique property it's value can't really be estimated like that The banks have made it clear that had they know the true numbers nothing would have changed and they'd have leant the same money at the same rates. SO to claim that trump made his fortune based on these lies is ridiculous. But that is the basis for this fine. It's a witch hunt.1 point

This is a very good post. The reality is that these issues likely take up a very small percentage of thought power among most people. Though it is driven in the media and to a certain extent our universities now where the prevailing thought is viewing the world through power imbalances. So while I don't think we are full on "Marxist", there is heavy Marxist influence in major institutions right now.1 point

I don't know if you didn't have internet under your rock at the time but people absolutely did freak out about it. Horgan came under intense pressure to slow it's growth but he said it was a federal thing so what could he do. https://vancouver.citynews.ca/2022/03/03/gas-prices-bc-horgan/ And eby is kind of hiding behind that as well. And it didn't work in bc. The data is clear, emissions went up radically despite the tax. And that was predicted. Some research indicates that there may have been a 5-10 percent SLOWDOWN in the growth - but even that seems to have evaporated now. It was useless. No, 90 percent of a very elite group of american economists. People who make money by agreeing with the left for the most part. And some how that became 90 percent of all economists everywhere. They don't actually do polls on the subject with the general economist 'population' because the truth is most realize it doesn't work due to the fact that choice in expenditure on things like fuel isnt' "elastic' as the original models believed. And there have been many papers on that. He didn't. The vast majority of actions were taken by the provinces, not trudeau. Trudeau's job was to get vaccines. Trudeau cost us 2 months of no vaccine because he did a deal with china and gave them hundreds of millions but they stiffed him on supplying any and we had to go begging. If polievre had been in power we certainly would have had vaccines sooner and probably would have been producing our own seeing as there was a canadian company ready to go and trudeau completely snubbed them in favour of china. what trudeau DID do is weaponize covid to win an eleciton. He turned people against one another, he said that people who didn't agree with him were bigots and mysoginists and wastes of space - and that lead to the convoys and now it's going to lead to a swing ot the right in politics in canada. It's already happening. You live in this weird little unreality bubble where whatever 'facts' you need to support your preferred conclusions just magically pop up - but they're not real. Trudeau has permanently changed canada for the worse. we will never be the country we were, where helping your neighbour was the national pastime and being tolerant of others was part of the Canadian identity. that's gone. And you're 'happy' about it for some reason.1 point
-
It seems to work in BC. We're not even freaked out by it. It doesn't work in Ottawa because the Liberals have taken incompetence to a new level and Conservatives have taken political hatred to the same place. In the meantime 90% of economists still think a carbon tax is the best way to go. A carbon tax is better than asking the โheavy handโ of government to โpick winners and losersโ with regulations and subsidies. โI prefer a cleaner solution, a market-based solution, of saying, โYou know what? If youโre behaving in ways that are gonna cause pollution that is going to impact the whole community, you should pay for that pollution.โ Categorizing carbon emissions as โpollutionโ is slippery sleight-of-hand but if such emissions do harm the climate, an overwhelming majority of economists โ 90 per cent in a Clark Center poll of American A-listers โ believe a carbon tax is the way to go. https://financialpost.com/opinion/trudeau-embraces-market-poilievre-class-warfare We need to be governed by experts not politicians. All I can say is that I'm bloody thankful Poilievre wasn't in charge during COVID and Trudeau, for whatever reason realized he was in over his head and let the experts call the shots.1 point

I loved it!! I will bet that we would never hear a speech like that coming from joey boy Bidumb that we saw Trump say in that video. Actually, you probably have terrified those pro-Bidumb Marxists here to death if Trump wins the next election. YES!! It still amazes me as to how there can be so many stupid people around here who still believes that Trump will bring on Armageddon on America. What do we think that Bidumb has done already for the past four years? I will bet that those Bidumb lovers here cannot find anything to say good about Bidumb? Why? Because there is nothing good to say about Bidumb. So true. I do hope that Trump can destroy the Mexican cartels once and for all because those scumbags have done so much harm and misery already to millions of decent and honest and innocent citizens. And the death penalty should be imposed on anyone caught trying to smuggle drugs into America. The death penalty is imposed and applied to anyone trying to smuggle drugs into Singapore. We need capital punishment in Canada also for anyone caught trying to smuggle drugs into Canada. I can see that happening in America, but not in Canada. Canada has become to Marxist for that to ever happen. Marxist love their drug smugglers. Just saying.1 point

Watching CNN or MSNBC all the time will never get you to learn or to know the other side of the story. FOX NEWS will give you that other side of the story that you still refuse to want to learn or listen too? You are some stumpid alright. LOL. So, just what did Trump do to you that made your useless life so miserable when Trump was President? Or better still, what has Bidumb done that has made your useless life any better than what it was under Trump? Come on, give me something to go on, stumpid? I would prefer to give Trump another chance at being the next President of America rather than giving that old senile bumbling fool that is the dictator of America today another shot for president. That would be the end of America if that loser wins the next election. The demoncrats no doubt have plans in place to try and steal this coming election from Trump. Just saying.1 point

See, the problem with your thinking is that you're treating wokeness as if it's a fresh idea that was brought to the table this morning. Wokeness has not only been presented, but it has permeated almost every facet of this country, and you're still crying about suppression of ideas. lol Look, Michelle, it's obvious that you are NOT a conservative. That's a startling admission coming from you. You're a far bigger person than I thought. 1) His middle name is Killary. 2) Julian Assange says "Hi." "The reason" behind things is easy to lie about, it's like the low-hanging fruit of fabrications. The brainwashed horde will never question that type of lie. Obviously the goal here is to force the NDP to own the tax as much as the liberals. AND to once again rub it in people's faces that the NDP is what gives justin the power to do what he does. It's a good move politically but obviously the motion won't succeed unless the ndp completely does a 180 which it won't.1 point

Here's the problem with the question. Caught by whom? The dems have already proven that 'evidence' can't be trusted and will be fabricated by them, going all the way back to the steel dossier. So there's a very good chance that the majority of people who do or might support trump will simply not believe it's true regardless, or will dismiss it. In fact the more serious and possibly outrageous the crime, the less likely it is to be believed at this point by trump supporters or those considering it. Dem supporters of course will believe he's guilty before he's even accused One of the things mentioned in his first campaign is that Trump's opponent (hillary at the time) cant' afford to look dirty, because her brand was a clean hard working politician. Whereas everyone already decided trump was a bad person and that was already baked into the pie and when you start off covered in mud nobody notices more mud. The dems have spent 8 years throwing mud at the guy - nobody is going to notice more mud.1 point

1. Yes, pretty much the whole point of being male 2. In younger days I urinated outdoors many times--discretely and otherwise--behind trees, on trees, behind cars, on cars, in alleyways and off balconies, etc. Good times! 3. I'd do it today if the right opportunity presented itself! 4. I've never urinated in a parking garage, which is more sketchy, but it's a lawyer's office, so I'd give it a pass. 5. Utterly ridiculous to arrest a 10-year old for any of the above, and doubly so to charge them. Grown-ups know better, but sometimes a kid has just got to go.1 point
