The National Council of Muslims and the 300 mosques and other Muslim organizations they represent say no MP will be welcome in their mosques or on their sites without them promising to restore funding to UNRWA funding, to call for an immediate ceasefire in the only place where Muslims are being killed by Jews (but not the ones where they're being killed by Muslims) and must condemn Israel's 'war crimes', (but not those committed by any of the other nations in the middle east). What they are demonstrating is they're not Canadians. Whatever is on their passports. They're not Canadians in spirit. They're still foreigners with foreign cultures and values. Foremost among them is hatred for Jews and Israel. And the more of these people we bring to Canada the more antisemitism there will be. Muslim groups say MPs won’t be welcome in mosques until they call for Gaza ceasefire | Radio-Canada.ca2 points

So he's been cleared to sit on his ass and watch the Obamas destroy this country from behind the scenes. I wonder if he even understands what's going on? President Joe Biden received an annual physical examination at a military hospital in suburban Maryland Wednesday, an assessment that will be closely watched as the 81-year-old seeks re-election in November. Dressed in a suit, Biden left the White House early Wednesday for the exam and returned a few hours later. He told reporters once he was back at the White House that the results were no different from his exam the previous year. Doctors declared Biden healthy and "fit for duty" in last year's physical examination, which included removing a lesion from his chest and declaring him free of symptoms of long COVID after his bout with the virus in 2022. https://www.newsmax.com/politics/biden-physical-exam-doctor/2024/02/28/id/1155314/2 points

you said: 1. poor black people are poor because of their culture 2. black people are responsible for their own culture did you not say that? because that means (through basic logic): that poor black people are they themselves responsible for being poor. please stop calling people bad names.2 points

Give me a break. The gov't was handing out cash to anyone who lost their jobs because of covd - but people who paid for insurance for that weren't. And "nobody said it was fair" is a childish thing to say. If something is UNfair then actions should be taken to rectify that. You want me to care about trans people being treated 'unfairly' but you're fine with "oh well" when it comes to people who lost their jobs completely unnecessarily for political reasons. You want me to care about drug addicts dying in the streets. But you're just 'oopsie daisy'1" over people being ripped off for the insurance they paid for. You want me to care about trump being corrupt or a criminal while you support a gov't who repressed their citizens and stole from them and drove them to misery . Your original argument is that "it's ok to hurt people, to abuse people, to force people to have medical treatment against their will. Well in that case it's ok to deny trans people the right to use the washroom or pronoun of their choice, it's fine to let drug addicts die of overdoses they gave themselves, and it's fine to let poor people starve if they can't be bothered to earn a living. It's one thing the left has never understood - when you commit injustice and expect others to accept it, sooner or later they'll choose to visit injustice back and you won't get a say in it.2 points

Let me be very clear on my opinion of this: Donald Trump deserves this ruling. Not because I disagree with his politics, but because he has been a notorious fraudster for decades. He has refused to pay dozens of his contractors huge sums of money, and when they tried to collect, he would sue them and leave them nearly bankrupt. He has ruthlessly abused the law to his advantage, and he's ruthlessly abused the tax system to his advantage. Now the law is fighting back. TODAY, Trump offered to cough up $100 million in cash bond while he sells properties to come up with the rest of his money. His offer was turned down.2 points

The only people in my experience who cry about "y no white history month" are dyed-in-the-wool bigots. I'm pretty sure all the rebels are long dead. And if they weren't, why would they call me a confederate? Do you know what a confederate is? Patriotism is when you love your country, not when you betray it to start a different country because you love keeping slaves more. Yes: slavery. And this proves...what exactly?1 point

You haven't demonstrated that they are underrepresented, or that they have or lack tools, or even defined with a 'successful class' is. Your question is meaningless. And in fact it would appear that blacks are properly represented in the middle class, which is generally what people mean when they're talking about being successful. In 2019 blacks made up 13 percent of the population and 12 percent of the middle class. That's a rounding error's difference. https://www.brookings.edu/articles/the-middle-class-is-already-racially-diverse/ Four decades ago, the vast majority of the middle class was white. In 1979, the middle class was 84 percent white, nine percent Black, five percent Hispanic, and two percent “other.” Over time, the middle class has become much more race–plural. In 2019, the middle class was 59 percent white, 12 percent Black, 18 percent Hispanic, and ten percent “other.” So the answer would appear to be - 'nothing'. They're doing it, they've done it, what's your problem. See what you can learn when you're not busy making up crap i didn't say?1 point

Okay. That's my fault. My tone was wrong here. I apologize. Let me try another approach: When you claim that "one-sided skepticism" is something that "works for you", I struggle to understand how you can say that seriously. That amounts to an admission that you hate/distrust one side so badly that you're going to blindly accept/believe everything the other side says. If that's the case, then all they have to do is validate your anger, amplify it, and they have your vote. Whether or not they're telling you the truth is irrelevant?1 point
-
ok, i'll go first @Yakuda. here is my answer. 1. poor blacks are responsible for their own culture. 2. black culture is not responsible for blacks being poor. now, you've already stated that black culture is responsible for blacks being poor. i'm just trying to nail down whether you also believe that blacks are responsible for their own culture? here is the question again. are blacks responsible for their culture and is that culture responsible for them being poor? Yes or No?1 point

Supposedly is not the same as actually. But don't try telling that to the reactionaries that would have you believe society has been inundated with sexual perversion and deviancy. Take Alberta for example, an apparent hotspot where a total of 8 kids had breast surgery relating to gender dysphoria. The reaction to this would suggest it's in the hundreds or thousands and a clear portent that the End of Days are upon us. They said the same thing back in the 60's when boys started growing their hair and girls started wearing pants.1 point

If you think the Americans would try to nuke Russia by them parking themselves in northern waters Canada also claims and building themselves a base you're just... very much mistaken. Nor would they go nuclear if the Russians moved into the Baltics. They'd push them back out one way or another, even if NATO nations had to go to the draft and start building up big militaries.1 point

MAD was not in effect in 1962 the Soviets did not have the capability to destroy the CONUS then at best they could have hit a few dozen targets only America was in position to destroy the Soviet Union, with 800 B-52's holding at failsafe which is why the Soviets backed down which is the only thing that saved us the Soviets then vowed to never let that happen again so they diverted the bulk of their resources to their navy introducing the Delta class SSBN in the 70's then the Typhoon class SSBN in the 80's only then were the Soviets in a position to destroy the CONUS from the protected bastion under the ice in the Arctic, with MIRV'd SLBM's1 point

but the ruling elites simply ignore the constitution and they appoint cronies to the judiciary, who will rubber stamp any legislation no matter how ludicrous and it doesn't matter who you vote for, because the opposition is not opposed to massive government overreach it's two factions of the same elite class, both inclined to abridge the constitution, just for differing imperatives the Conservatives have their own version of the Online Harms Bill they don't oppose Bill 23 in theory, they simply want to amend it slightly at the margins1 point

How many pro-Russian collusion posts do you think you've made over the past 7 years? Face it, fact-free posts riddled with childish, baseless accusations are your thing, Beave. Here's the thing: CNN's false narratives are see-through, harmful, and addictive, and you guys never learn. Then you can't admit to any of it and you move on to the next shiny lie. All of the "racist cop murder stories" fell apart. And they were all stupid. Honest to God: "A cop just drove up, rolled down his window, and shot an innocent teenager for nothing"? How could you guys not just be a bit skeptical of that? How did you fall for "I was walking to Subway at 1:00 am in the middle of winter in Chicago when two white guys tried to lynch me, and they poured bleach on me"? You guys make fun of Fox, but CNN goes all-in on stupid, stupid, stupid bullshit and you're part of that problem. Do you wanna know what's true? It was cultists ginned up on CNN's racial hate-fests who captured a retarded white kid and live-streamed his torture session on FB. There's literally no other reason on earth why that kid was tortured, aside from CNN's false narratives. Where's the anger? When are you finally gonna say "enough is enough" and disengage from CNNtard storytime? ANd stop acting like the Cuomo scandal was extensively covered by the MSM. If you Google: "Why did Cuomo lose his Emmy" all that's mentioned is the pecks on the cheek and the hand sliding too far down the lower back. 😱 That's so much worse than putting covid-positive people back into care homes 🤣1 point

A recent study showed that in fact it's our growth in population that's straining health care. We're adding more docs and nurses etc but the rate of population epansion has increased to a higher rate than we're adding medical staff. IF we reduced immigration it would actually take strain off the industry.1 point

Canada needs a constitutional revamp or we simply need something more like the Bill of Rights. Our government is out of control trying to find behind the scenes dictatorial methods of erasing opposition. This bill doesn’t require proof beyond a reasonable doubt to substantiate hate. It doesn’t require courts, but rather the ideologically driven “Human Rights Tribunal”, which is something out of the French Revolution. Such proceedings would be hidden from public scrutiny, Speech is not violence, period. Yes inciting violence is not okay, along with physical threats, harassment, and extortion, but these things must be dealt with proportionally and transparently. There was a time when most people understood that even hateful speech must be protected because the definitions and interpretations of hate would inevitably be subject to bias and overreach. Hate speech shouldn’t be banned unless you want to remove free speech. You can’t have the latter without accepting that the former can occur. That doesn’t mean that privately owned sites, institutions, etc., can’t have codes of conduct. Even those are difficult to manage. You can see where all this is going. Whatever the leadership decides are unacceptable views will be penalized. Honest to God, Canadians better wake up come election time. Let’s hope the Senate bails us out of this nightmare legislation. https://nationalpost.com/opinion/terry-glavin-under-liberal-hate-speech-bill-trudeau-would-be-guilty-of-vilifying-catholics/wcm/8594d577-d73e-4126-8b4e-66801b1e68cd/amp/1 point

1. Which is pretty plainly known and applies to all religion-like belief systems including and especially 'religion'. People bring it up as though it means something but it doesn't. Here's a woke idi*t in Nevada who said something, therefore all woke is invalid... all ideas of progressivity are therefore suspicious. Same as the many videos of Trump MAGA idi*ts being interviewed. News flash is that since about 1/2 the USA voted MAGA in 2016, these people aren't representative. 2. How could we ever do an objective assessment of how we're doing in this environment ? Any ideas ? Honest question. We could measure things like literacy, life expectancy, real income vs GDP, and such. Would it be worthwhile to agree on some measures for assessing the health of our public sphere first - without peeking - then going out and finding out the reality ?1 point

Lol. As a pathological liar yourself, I'm not sure your offered opinion counts for anything. Meanwhile, Oliver is a respected journalist and his HBO show has earned many millions of dollars for the network while collecting 28 Emmy awards and 2 Peabody awards, among the show's many other accolades. -- That's 28 more Emmys than and 2 more Peabody awards than the entire Fox "news" network. BTW. (That's right, Fox News has no awards for journalism, because they don't practice journalism.) But Fox does have have something that Oliver's little show doesn't: multiple defamation judgements stemming from their many high-profile lies. So, you should probably apply some prudence when throwing around the term "liar." I know your knee-jerk reaction to any respected media source is to blindly attack it, (because it's not Fox or some random YouTuber) but that's simply not how the rational people of the world think.1 point

Mostly corpo bullshit shoved down your throat. For me, it was a course on WorkDay to learn not to be overtly racist, something that already exists on its own but has to be repeated on Black History Month. We also had a seminar where a Black Lady recorded herself at home on her webcam and said that the company I work for strives for Diversity and Inclusion and that racism is bad m'kay. Mostly, but symbolically speaking, it's dumb to dedicate a month for a race and it's keeping 'The Other' mentality. It's lame, corny and useless. Get rid of it.1 point
