That's just what we know about, and the only reason we even know about it is that the Dems were dumb enough to post a video of it. If they knew it was a big deal to lie about being a combat vet, they woulda left that video buried, but leftsists are still trying to make the case that it's no big deal. They just don't get it. You just did it now.... FYI one doesn't just "slip" and pretend that they fought in a war.2 points

There's no postal home delivery here, like in many small towns. Everyone goes to the Post Office to get mail, amazon pkgs, etc. It was closed all day Monday because of worker shortage. You could get to your mailbox, but not the counter for packages or services. Went back Tuesday, the Postmaster was working all by herself, catching up on two days work.... The supermarket had one out of three tills open and a lineup of 15 or so people. The Subway has 3 TFWs and is the only place you can get food after 7pm in the whole town. The last TFW crew from there all got permanent status, with references from local people and now man Service BC and are at the banks. Some of those jobs were posted Canada wide for over a year and nobody applied, nor anybody local with better qualifications than the TFWs. They want to work, they have to work. Unlike the last two local hires that I could've short paid if I wanted to as all they ever looked at on their pay stubs was their EI qualifying hours. Hell, they both thought they got a "raise" when the company stopped deducting MSP after their probation period. The TFWs rent a house that was empty from people I know, they bought phone chargers and parts in my store, clothes and supplies from the local stores and sell home made Filipino, Mexican and Indian foods at the Farmers Market on Fridays. And they're criticized for sending money home to their Mom by people who shop at WalMart and cross the border to buy gas. Who's the "good" Canadians?2 points

I would suggest that the political class is aware that they blew their political capital on Covid in that, to try to reimpose lockdowns now, when the population is primarily concerned with economic survival ? that really could incite a revolt which makes the Trucker Freedom Convoy look like a Bouncy Castle love camp2 points

Why would he put tampon dispensers in boys washrooms? Matthew, do you believe that boys are menstruating?2 points

I'm more moderate but the Democrat party is out there in cuckoo land and have been for some time now. -Believe people have a right to cause massive destruction to major cities as a form of protest (Walz did this with the Floyd riots) -Believe patents don't have a right to know about what's going on in schools -Place caps on food prices which have historically caused food shortages -Destroyed American energy production while approving Russian pipelines used to finance an attempted annihilation of the Ukraine people -Repeated use of lawfare against political opponents -Perpetual lies by their candidates about fighting in wars they have never been apart of -Jailing elderly business owners for daring to make a living during covid Sorry the views of the modern day Democrat party are Marxist in nature and are a threat to the free world2 points

Desperate strech What? He signed a bill allowing free tampons in schools for anyone who needs them. This line of attack leads directly to the guy looking good to most voters. Most people think he's likable. You're desperate.2 points

No, republicans are all over the place with it. After an Alabama court used their states anti-abortion law to prosecute someone in an IVF clinic, the Alabama republicans scrambed to try to make an exception but that hasn't gone anywhere yet. In June the US Senate started a bill to make IVF legal, but Senate republicans overwhelmingly rejected it. Although around the same time, the SBC voted to stand against IVF:2 points

Well, to be more accurate, she has a problem with her two I's: Illegal immigration and Inflation. As the border czar, she did precious little to stem the tide of illegal immigration. She even went as far as proposing illegal immigrants get free health care. Under her watch, immigrants got more money for food than our vets. They got better health care. They got better living conditions. They got benefits that far exceeded what Americans got. She owned that problem and she can't get away from that. Inflation is her problem, as well. She was the deciding vote on the Inflation reduction act. That act raised Inflation by increasing government spending and subsidizing goods and services. The Inflation reduction act is irrevocably her problem. If she had a solution, she should have put it forth by now. After all, in her own words, she was always the last person in the room on major decisions. She has a two I's problem that can't be solved.1 point

This is quite an absurd, grotesque situation: Canada trains doctors for rich third world countries, while importing them from the poorer ones for herself (ostensibly with some qualifications, but who can be sure, in the poorer part of the third world?) Is it objective enough picture? In what universe does it make any rational sense? The incentives; objectives, the management structure, funding arrangements: it all seems to be wrong, upside down. And this why we are seeing these grotesque episodes. The primary objective and incentives for management of Canadian universities is now to make dough; training specialists for the country comes second. But schools are not private businesses, their managers aren't CEOs. Canadian problems with transparent and effective management of public functions and institutes go very deep indeed.1 point

That's not the problem Deluge. The old fart knows males don't bleed. But by putting those tampon machines in EVERY bathroom, regardless of sex/necessity, he got thousands of votes from green-haired, university trained, revolutionaries who feel they must tear society and culture to pieces. Not all culture mind you. No...it's all us evil Caucasians. They hate Caucasians...especially the men. But what they refuse to acknowledge is...they look like twits doing it and wind up damaging things that have always worked...like elections...the law...sex/gender...the climate...all the people who can manage to wonder across the border...Christianity...you name it...they hate it. Hell they even hate meat! It's an insanity that you and I can't understand or agree with because... We possess common sense.1 point

It seems there are jobs, for young people ,but doing them seem to be beneath them. Seems immigrants realize they need to work and they do. They take those jobs because they need to and don't have Mommy and Daddy providing for them.1 point

So would it better for a trans male to use a female bathroom? Or should we just force trans kids to identify the gender society has assigned them? Unless they're a girl that's good at boxing, then they're a man.1 point

I don't think this is comparable to covid because it was a more localized issue. Covid was global. Lockdowns were global. People, for better or for worse, care less about things that don't affect them directly. Maybe they shouldn't be that way. But that is another argument. Maybe people were always lemmings to some degree, but I think that it's been far worse in the last 10 - 15 years.1 point

-Burning and looting entire cities isn't proportional. It's domestic terrorism -Parental consent is a thing and has been for about 100 years now. The excuse that some kids are in danger is not founded. -The latest proposal of price caps whether it be on housing or food causes long run shortages. This is basic econ 100 stuff -Democrats are abusing the legal system akin to what you'd expect in Venezuela. Any moderate would be concerned by it -Biden reversed Trumps policy by killing Keystone and approved Nord II. This is primarily due to ideology that oil is bad. Oil is the lifeline for the foreseeable future and is used to fuel economic progress. -The guy lied about his military experience. It's vile and the American vets are rightfully leading the charge to call him out1 point

Exactly. The current issue in the US is that republicans have painted themselves into a corner by allowing a minority of hardline anti-abortion evangelicals to decare that all fertilized cells have the exact same legal status as children. Yes the vast majority of republicans and democrats support IVF. But the republicans are so far unable to pass any law that protects IVF without contradicting the increasingly radical position they've staked out on abortion in some states.1 point
-
Ok then. Should embryos created during IVF legally be considered children? After further reading, it turns out that Alabama did in fact create a law that attempted to address the problem (see SB 159), which the governor signed into law. However, the hospital in the alabama case has not resumed IVF procedures and other clinics in that state are sending their embryos to other states, because the new law still does not resolve the central problem. The Alabama court applied the emryos-are-children anti-abortion principle to IVF and the the new law does not change that stance, and in fact holds companies liable if their medical equipment is involved in the destruction of an embryo.1 point

They won't do the procedure if there are no fertilized embryos that have reached a certain level of maturity (called the blastocyst stage). According to this account, it usually takes fertilization attempts on about a dozen mature eggs to produce 1 normal embryo. Ideally if they can collect many eggs they will attempt to produce several healthy embryos and they can then freeze viable embryos for future IVF cycles.1 point

Trudeau is not a leader. He had yet another bout of convenient covid. Hid out, derogatory snipes, Emergency Act, Liberal Govt. meddling with Canadian citizen bank/finances, etc., etc. All the work of the chickensh!t that he is. A real leader would have conducted him/herself like a real leader. Meet with the truckers, hear their concerns, try to work out a solution/compromise, and hopefully get them and the country moving again. Trudeau is a fool, he duped a large block of voters and has run this once great country into the ground. He's a traitor, an enemy of Canada . . .1 point
