  1. https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/politics/biden-relies-on-reporter-list-notes-during-white-house-joint-press-conference-with-japanese-pm/ar-BB1ls1Ot Yesterday when Joe Biden was at the WH with the PM of Japan, he "took some questions from reporters" lol. Unlike the ice cream cone questions, where he can study the pre-scripted for hours and then rattle off the answer off the top of his head in one or two takes, there were too many Q's to remember the answers to so they just said "F-U, America, we're gonna fake this right in front of your stupid faces." Joe literally had to shuffle through his notes to see which reporter he was supposed to take his question from, then after the pre-scripted Q was asked, he read the answer right off of his notes. There was no attempt whatsoever from the WH to pretend that Joe Biden was answering that pre-scritped question on his own. Leftards here can't weasel out of the fact that the whole Q and A session was a joke and America was the punchline. And Biden didn't just get the questions in advance, like Hillary during a debate, he had the answers to the fake questions right in his hand... 😂 Can leftards try to make the case that Joke Acosta was asking pre-scripted questions? Biden is done now. He's not gonna cross the finish line. There's nothing left. They can indict him for whatever they want now to gain some fake credibility, because he's not gonna be president long no matter what.

  2. Canada has lived this very post for most of it's most of it's history and it is wrong....And it has cost the lives of thousands of Canadians...thrown into combat with little to no real training, with equipment that was not proven or sub par, just ask the crew of the sherman tank what they thought of their tanks in comparison to Germany's or the Russians... Man has not learned to talk out it's problems, which is why violence is still a political tool...We need to defend ourselves, and par take in ALL our defensive agreements not becasue it's political but becasue it saves the lives of those men and women that are going to be sent into battle...my son and daughters, and future grand children are at risk as is yours. If we are not willing to defend ourselves, then we don't deserve our current freedoms and rights. Becasue it is nessicary maybe not at this day or week, but at some time we will need to pick up weapons and defend what is right... Not sure why Canadians are content with having someone else pay for our defense, I'm sure American tax payers are not thrilled about picking up the tab, i know if it was reversed i'd be pissed as well....we as a people have become fat and lazy, we spend our time trying to see what we can glean off our government instead of having any pride whatsoever and stepping up... Sometimes it is embarrassing to be Canadian.

  3. New Zealand is a tiny country with a tiny population, period. I don’t know how their military stacks up relative to their population but they have 4 P-8 poseidon s for example Similar to Canada it’s not about if you are needed for defence but whether you’re contributing your fair share If not, there are political and economic consequences.

  4. Canada “needs” to contribute to the defence of North America for political reasons Not because it’s necessary for our security but because the less we contribute to continental defence , the more USA dominates us. .

  7. Its a simple matter of cost benefit analysis. The time spent listening to someone who is lacking intelligence is not worth it. For the same 8 minutes, I gave a bunch of data that was requested.. pick up the difference? The information that I brought forth was requested and I delivered. the covid topic was not requested and was not relevant to the conversation.

  8. He's a tax and spend liberal who's saying he'll tax and spend slightly less. "an economic agenda built on shared goals and values" Is code for unicorn farts and lining his own pockets while suckering the lowest thinkers in our society to vote for him. This guy would be every bit as bad for Canada as trudeau was, but he'd get caught slightly less.

  9. Not only to Europe, but across DND and MDND, people have been stepping up and telling anyone that will listen, that we are in need of deep investment...Everyone already knows most of the globe has noticed our lack of participation, and have said politely hey your a loser time to step up...We are losing capability's along with the expertise in using them every year, once they are gone we will have to pay other nations to teach us the basics on all of these lost capabilities... Lets not forget there is 1/2 a dozen or so european countries that have stepped up to a war footing, are desperately thinking conscription, and boosting their defense budgets into the 3 percent range...We are one of the few that seems to be still riding the wave to the beach....as history has shown, we have always cashed in the peace bonds hard, and paid a price when crises happens in lives...history repeats itself over and over here in canada.

  10. A majority of Canadians think the Trudeau government is spending ‘too much,’ poll finds Meanwhile... When Canadians were polled on the prospect of a wealth tax on the one per cent back in 2021, it garnered almost 90 per cent support nationwide, including 82 per cent from Conservative voters. https://www.nationalobserver.com/2024/02/22/opinion/canada-needs-wealth-tax#:~:text=When Canadians were polled on,per cent from Conservative voters. In a very real way these polls indicate Canadians might agree that the government is not collecting enough taxes to meet society's needs. I wonder if PP would have the courage to pose such a question in the context of income disparity in the face of our national debt? Maybe PP could make it easier to swallow a wealth tax on the 1% by promising to cut funding for things the other 99% need. How could any self-respecting Conservative voter ever say no to that? That said when people are actually faced with the piteous situation the 1% find themselves in it could be too much for even moderate Conservatives to accept anything less than tax-cuts for everyone...and especially the 1%.

  11. You're the one whose posts are mostly just name-calling io. Look back through this thread for some facts or stats that you posted, or some on-point rebuttals... There's nothing. You just say "I don't wanna talk about this no more" and make some baseless insults. Try to find something that you said at any point in time that would convince someone that you understand this topic and that you have something intelligent to say about it. In which of the posts in this thread did you hit your peak, io? What do you have here to hang your hat on?

  12. An intelligent listener can also tell if what is being said or written is valid or worth listening to. The speaker in some cases is really just wanting affirmation and so they keep repeating themselves in the vain hope that given enough repetition, the audience will agree with them.

  13. There's no theorizing going on. If you flip a coin 30 times and get heads 25 times, and then the coin commits a bunch of felonies on behalf of the heads, the coin's not legit. The FBI's made the bizarre claim that "white males commit the most terrorist attacks in NA" just to discredit conservatives, and decided that "Hillary's destruction of subpoenaed evidence was fine", on 2 occasions Hillary was allowed to just say "I don't remember" 100 times in a row to the FBI, the FBI made some "errors and omissions" that all went against Trump in Russian collusion, the FBI tried to coerce false testimony about Russian collusion from people who weren't found guilty of any collusion-related offences, the FBI committed felonies during the collusion farce and no one served a minute in jail, the FBI ran an entrapment scheme in their own Whitmer kidnapping plot and "cracked the case" in true October surprise fashion, the FBI had the laptop in their possession for 11 months before they told MSM and social media giants that it was "Russian disinformation", the FBI went on a crusade to find the diary of the president's daughter, the FBI and Dems had a secret office at Perkins Coie where they colluded against the Dems' opposition, Hillary's lawyer had a key-card for FBI HQ, the FBI put their most biased investigators on the collusion case and lied about it for years, etc, etc... Dude, why weren't you surprised to find out that the FBI is putting out deceptive stats that just happen to make the demonrats look good?

  17. Yeah - it does look like trump is still ahead by a nose. It is close though. And there's been little movement really in the last month or two - there's always a little up and down but it's pretty stable. I think probably these are going to be the starting positions for when the real election starts and people just aren't really paying attention right now When august is over and we have boht official nominees and the race starts in earnest after the summer - i think we'll start seeing some movement and get an idea who's going to take it. But yes it's looking nice for trump at the moment

  19. As I said, I spent 35 years in the military and another 10+ around the military. Lots of governments were there during my tenure and they all disregarded the men and women that served. In praise of them all, they did so much with so little and were constantly under appreciated. Canada was not an invitee to AUKUS and never will be. AUKUS is The Trilateral Security Partnership Between Australia, U.K. and U.S. Navy. It is primarily to acquire nuclear subs and Canada will never go down that path. AWACS are also and often the airborne command and control centre.

  20. Agreed but our problems with military spending and a coherent long-term military policy precede this particular government by a fair few decades. It seems difficult to change this in a democracy unless we have an imminent military threat on our doorstep. At least Putin has managed to wake Europe up a bit.

You may get away with this crap with dullards, but when matched with intellect, you crumble and fall back on warping reality in order to what? Pat yourself on the back, block the nasty person who called you on your BS, and proceed with an undeserved aire of superiority? Buddy...you just ain't that sharp. 22. NATO owns a lot of military assets from cargo aircraft fleets, refueling assets, and yet most countries have invested in similar fleets.... Canada has employed Surveillance aircraft in the past modified Auro's to surval the gulf area...also northern coast lines, and to assist the army in exercises on the ground...Your assuming AWACS is only capable of tracking aircraft it's capabilities are a lot greater than that... Just look at Afghanistan mission for a second, KAF airbase had on it well over 60 to 70 CH-147 from dozens of nations, ...plus dozens of other types of helos... one of the reasons we purchased our own fleet was availability, not to mention the host country could cancel at any time, which often happened, remember your the free loader here, and on their good will to give you a ride...many missions where then transferred to the road where peoples lives were lost...Not sure how the airforce works it air packages, but some where there is a need for AWACS, as other support aircraft. I know what it is like to depend on another nation for support, like air support, attack helo support, we got it providing there was no US need at the time...., and look how many Canadian lives were lost due to screw ups, i would rather have had Canadian pilots providing support. That being said when US A-10 or Apaches arrived on scene, a wave of relief washed over everyone... Canada has entered more defensive agreements than just NATO, there is NORAD, 5 EYES, and as justin has said they want to be a more active member in AUKUS...

  28. We are in an era where warlords are rising around the world. Ruthless men with a lot of power in China, Russia, India, Iran, Turkey and others. In such a world, you have sovereignty over what you can protect. And right now, Canada can't protect Prince Edward Island, much less the rest of the country. We rely on the US to do that. But the US is increasingly distracted by its internal divisions and less interested in foreign adventures. Donald Trump is not the only corrupt, cynical opportunist with power down there. And it's debatable right now about just how much effort he would be willing to put into defending anyone, particularly if he's blackmailed or paid to not do so. In WW2 Canada had a booming economy and one million people in the military. Our population is four times greater and we're told that even as many as 100,000 is far beyond our capabilities. Even properly equipping the roughly 50,000 we have causes grown men to throw up their arms and give up. Not possible, they say. That's utter bullshit. Trudeau has found $54 billion just this year for various things he wants to do, from money to natives to climate change initiatives to new social programs. But properly equipping the military is just not something we can do without bankrupting ourselves. Somehow.

  29. Saaayyy, wait a second there, junior. According to you and the other climate alarmists renewable energy is now CHEAPER than fossil fuel energy! Why should the third world need our money to switch over? Why are they building coal plants instead of solar farms?

  30. If the world is toast in two years, there are no solutions. The quickest plans to remotely dramatically reduce emissions would be decades away. If its that imminent, we all croak. Might as well chill, and enjoy life while that time comes. Running around like a mad man will have you die of a heart attack before that finish line. Doing more, and being less of a polluter are two different things. It's like a woman sleeping with 500 men, and another looking down on her having done 600, but because she always used protection. You're both wh*res. Ones just dirtier. All I see is virtue signaling points. Identity politics. Reality is, it will take decades to dramatically reduce fossil fuel use.

  31. This sounds like confirmation bias to me. No I think they're more excited to get rid of Trudeau. Canadians aren't so stupid as to think PP is some kind of saviour. He answers to his own corporate masters and plays his own tricks and lies.

  34. What a “Let them eat cake” attitude. The lowest end EV’s start at around $50,000, and those ones have lousy ranges that make anything more than short commuting impractical in our cold climate where batteries quickly lose their charges. Who cares, right? Poor and low middle income people can eat shit so you can lie to yourself that you’re saving the planet. Again, if you care so much about fighting climate change, you can donate to the cause.

  39. The whole experience was intrusive and damaging in ways we can’t fully comprehend, and that’s apart from the impact of the virus itself, which for much of the pandemic had flu-like mortality rates. Basically our society was under a kind of mass hysteria that damaged our democracy and social cohesion in significant ways. The learning gaps, mental health damage, substance abuse, breakup of families, loss of businesses, and non-Covid increased death rate are a terrible legacy.

  42. FOLKS, please don't believe this. Florida is the SLOWEST growing state on the planet. This place is a HELL HOLE, and NO enlightened soul from a blue state should lower himself/herself/whatever fugging gender "self" and move here. The economy sucks. You have to have a job to survive. The weather sucks. Hurricanes every other week. It's too far a drive from everything. Mosquitoes the size of eagles routinely carry children away faster than Planned Parenthood can kill them. And SCHOOLS here are unnecessarily cruel and unreasonable. The poor children actually have to LEARN what is being taught, and the subjects are those very boring academic screeds: Math, history, geographic, science, civics, art, music. It's almost IMPOSSIBLE to find a decent Lesbian Dance Theory class in ANY of Florida's inferior schools. Blue staters, STAY AWAY FROM FLORIDA. You'll HATE it.
