Canada's tariffs on China are a result of catering to your hero Herr Trump. If Carney lifts tariffs on China, Canada will be punished by Herr Trump and you will dump on Carney for that. Win win for you but not for your country.4 points

Many Red states are now putting restrictions on what you can buy on food stamps and the lazy people are crashing out over it (mostly the fat asses with 5 kids with 5 different baby daddies) Funny thing is you can can buy all the components of "snacks" on food stamps, you just need to do a little work to make those items into snacks.3 points

You can't argue that Canada isn't a progressive country. It seems entirely natural that the CBC would reflect that and I have no problem with tax dollars funding it.2 points

See what I mean about stubborn f*cking m0rons? He knows the Arctic ice is melting, the NW Passage will soon open up,, crows about the need to defend it and all the while denies it is happening. They can't say it will open fully on exactly July 12, 2047 at 5:46 am, so they must all be lying. Worse, has the idea the goal of humanity is to exploit the Earth as much and as fast as possible for maximum profit while all the while knowing he will see none of that profit. Deny the negative and celebrate zero gain, swallow another "at least..." as a big win. Do your own research if you even know how, and it doesn't mean scour the absolute dregs of the Internet to confirm what your simple mind has already decided. Like your stunned assumption that everyone else only acts out of fear. The only fear I see is a lot of people's fear of learning anything new or unpleasant.2 points

Israeli government claims he was a Hamas terror leader. Al Jazeera and human rights groups deny this. The problem here is that i'm not naive enough to believe the Israeli government, Al Jazeera, or human rights groups without evidence. Same with the National Post or CBC News. Who even has credibility any more? Not many. We live in perilous times.2 points

You think the Sephardic Jews in the Middle East had it good? They weren't subjected to pogroms and hatred by the Muslims? There are a number of reasons why fools hate Jews. Much it has to do with the early Christian and Islamic prohibitions on lending money for interest. Jews didn't have this prohibition, so they wound up becoming the de facto bankers. This could be both profitable and dangerous. Many a banker had his head removed and his money seized on some pretext or other by a king who owed them enormous sums of money and couldn't pay it. Muhamad liked the Jews, at first. He thought he could persuade them to join his cult. But they had no interest. After that, "Allah" suddenly started saying nasty things about the Jews to him, and as a result, the Quran is full of nasty things about Jews. The rest is mostly jealousy from weak-minded losers.2 points

Are you really that simple, Spanky? You think that there's just one possible explanation and nothing else? How about this: The Israelis know exactly what will happen to "legitimate journalists" who venture into Gaza: they will just become more meat shields that the Israelis have to avoid or hostages that they have to rescue. Also, what's a "legitimate journalist from the CBC", Spanky? Or from CNN? Or from NYT? I wouldn't trust those losers to write about my dog. Would you? If a 12 yr old muslim girl accuses you of cutting off part of her hijab, do you think that CBC or CNN are gonna give a "McFarland" a fair shake? Do you think that a Liberal PM would miss the opportunity to call you a racist and a religious bigot in that scenario? If you do, then I have a bridge to sell you.1 point

Thank you so very much. I am very proud indeed to consider myself to be a right winger. Are you proud to be a left winger? What Canada needs today is more right wingers and less Marxist lieberal left wing buffoons. The right wingers in this country will be the only ones who will be able to fix up this mess of a country that the left wing lieberals have left and done to Canada in the past ten years. In America, Trump is doing just that and Trump is cleaning up the mess that the lieberal democrats left in America for Trump to have to clean up. Sorry for the rant again, but i do like to rant. 🤪1 point

They have plenty of alternatives, plenty of lumber producing nations out there , the real question is how much are they willing to pay....Canadian lumber is cheap because it only travels short distances, American has access to more domestic lumber but they need time to expand that industry.... Canada has been actively looking for new customers for it's lumber but to replace the US orders is a tall order...right now US customers are going to pay much more for their new homes, but Canadian lumber producers are going to have to reduce their output, once Americans find other alternatives... US is always going to be our biggest customer, I personal think that we should be looking at restricting the amount of lumber sold to the US...i mean we have been accused of dumping it on the US market, it will either force the Americans to find other sources, or come back to the table and agree of less tariffs.......Sell our lumber here at home, and other nations....we need to start building homes like everyone talks about....1 point

I've been trying not to waste my time with same thing mentioned over and over, but you keep coming back to me with it. No I don't live in NB or NS but I have woods where I live. For the 30th time.... It's not because of Trump. Carney and JT before him are trying to protect the Canadian auto industry. Lots of jobs in vote-rich Ontario. Now with Trump attacking those jobs himself it becomes much more complicated. I'm of the opinion that it's only a matter of time before our market is dominated by Chinese EVs. I just don't know the financial implications of turning our back on the domestic auto industry. But Trump's rhetorical is making such a move more likely.1 point

If only it were that simple... https://opencanada.org/china-canada-relations 11 July, 2025 "Chinese Academy of Social Sciences also elide the reality that the hardening of Canadian policy has been driven primarily by public opinion and government assessments that the CCP’s agenda and actions are harmful to Canada’s interests, rather than by ideology or American pressure. Canada’s growing threat perception is due to China’s support for Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, regional aggression, cyberattacks, espionage, transnational repression, mercantilist economic policies, and “wolf warrior” diplomacy. Foreign (Chinese) interference sparked a series of formal Canadian inquiries, heavy media attention and the expulsion of a Chinese diplomat. But all that passes unmentioned in recent Chinese commentary. Chinese counterparts had found Stephen Harper difficult to deal with because of “his notorious anti-China stance” according to a People’s Daily article that called him a “stubborn donkey”. China’s state-supported EV exports create complex dilemmas: they offer consumers cheaper vehicles and policymakers a means to reach net zero emissions and other green transition goals more quickly and affordably. But they also threaten to decimate Canada’s legacy automotive sector and stymie efforts to foster an infant domestic EV industry. Hence the tariffs are not only a signal of North American solidarity, but also a necessary policy alignment to prevent cut-price Chinese EVs diverted from the US being dumped in Canada. Canadian national security officials also share American cybersecurity concerns about connected vehicles running Chinese software." Yeah this sucks big time, but it's not a surprise. The World's economy is a series of games of political Jenga. Pull the wrong block and a pile crashes. Better to not pull a block in many cases. Better no deal than a bad deal.1 point

Sure I did. Like I said lots of lefty losers try to wine and paint it as being somehow a bad deal at the time but history has proven them to be wrong and him to be right. Canada’s softwood lumber industry - Natural Resources Canada They did that with him a lot. They said that reducing the GST was the worst thing in the universe and we were all going to die. Economists later pointed out that this actually helped save Canada's banking during the recession by stimulating spending. They said that his little trick of having cmhc by a mortgages to ensure liquidity in our banks was a terrible idea and misunderstood, turned out to be the most genius financial tool a government invented in the last 50 years and even Trudeau used the same technique himself, but that didn't stop the liberals of the time complaining about it Like most losers on the left you enjoy rewriting history, but the numbers are quite clear. The softwood lumber deal went on to be a huge and massive victory for Canada. Yes in the very short term we gave up a small amount of tariff money we collected to make the deal happen but it was well negotiated and served us brilliantly for years. Name a deal that the liberals have done that have managed to survive and allow Canadians to prosper that much for that long Sorry kiddo, you might believe your hatred and bigotry echo chamber but intelligent people won't1 point

"Hi everybody, your favorite president here, the Fabled Genius, always working to keep America safe from democracy. You heard my little oopsy the other day about going to Russia to hang out with Vlad the Invader. The cat's out of the bag, we're letting Russia keep Alaska so we can have peace in Ukraine. Won't that be nice? Is Alaska named after Baked Alaska? We have Baked Alaska at Mar a Lego, but sometimes it's too hot so I told the chef we want half-baked Alaska. And Jeff Epstein liked his egg foo young if you know what I mean. But maybe Canada wants Alaska for a province, that's what they call states up there. I mean look at it it sticks out like a cauliflower ear, like somebody took a pencil and drew a line. Then Alaska wouldn't have to pay tariffs or doctor insurance... wouldn' that be a beautiful thing? Many people have said so. And me and Vlad and Vlod and Mark, we'd play a round of golf and I'll get my Nobull Prize...And we're going to Investigate Biden for Pearl Harbour- never would have happened if I'd been president...Well, gotta go, RFK's gonna give my my shot of bleach and shine a flashlight up my ass, maybe he'll find Giulanni....."1 point

A random observation wrt the hatred directed at jews: Media reporting of some of the assaults is an interesting study if you take the time or have the inclination to look into individual attacks on Jews. Here's the CBC report of one in Montreal: https://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/montreal/montreal-police-investigating-attack-father-1.7605147 For whatever reason, It didn't include an available video though. Even though it's limited and inconclusive it still reeks of deliberate targeting when you see the presence of children and the kippah getting tossed at the end. I took a passing interest in this particular event because of the kids and found the video on (Gasp cover your ears Roboturd) Rebel News... Here it is Zoom in on the attacker, is that the reason it was omitted? Maybe just me but another point of interest is that in all the (albeit random) cases I've looked into I see that the attackers are not "fighters" by any reasonable definition of the word and there seems to be no shortage of people standing about with cameras filming the action. There was a time when immediate intervention in such things would have been far more likely than reaching for a cell phone. In fact, were you to stand back and simply video the action you would have been viewed as a loathsome creature. That's clearly no longer the case and we're now (collectively) OK with that it seems. I think we've lost a piece of ourselves in the bargain though. If the statistics I hear are close to true, it seems that well under 1% of the population now have the skills (at a basic level) or inclination to intervene in cases of obvious need. The presence of children here is what adds a "sense of urgency" IMO. Not sure what to make of that but somehow I feel disturbed by it. It also explains (at least to me) why military and police recruiting / retention is so challenging now. The people inclined to throw themselves into such things have always made up the recruiting demographic that used to run at about 5%. Small number I know but we're losing ground if the new number is truly under 1%. Artificially expanding the traditional demographic parameters through targeted / DEI hiring will not fix the problem, it will make it worse. Perversely (to some) getting into the stream needs to be significantly more difficult, more selective... and yes, more elitist in terms of competency. Running fat farms prior to basic training may be inclusive but it doesn't seem to be "working out" too well and I'm inclined to say "I told ya so." I'm guessing most people who watch the video (or similar ones) have a range of emotions: disgust maybe, concern, anger perhaps, a sense of how did we get here, etc. BUT, how many get that burning head to toe adrenaline rush that smoulders for the rest of the day and propels their pushup count to new levels. Personally, this will have me smouldering for days... not good during a fire ban eh?1 point
