A column by Barbara Kay quoted some interesting statistics on male/female preferences about politics and the reasons for them. Women overwhelmingly vote Left while a plurality of men vote Conservative. Women are less supportive of freedom of speech that causes offense than men are, and much more prone to support BIG government that takes care of people, that, in effect, 'mothers' them, with scant regard to costs and budgets. That includes a strong degree of climate alarmism as well as support for minorities and disadvantaged people. Again, without regard to costs. The percentage of women attending university has been rising steadily while male attendance continues to fall, and those women report themselves to be liberal or far left in ever greater numbers compared to men. On average, “women are more willing to suppress science for moral reasons, and men are more willing to allow offensive or even potentially harmful ideas to be shared. (In time), support for including moral and harm concerns into the scientific and publishing process is likely to increase, and support for academic freedom is likely to decline.” Women account for 80 per cent of gender studies graduates in the U.S., which are essentially activism boot camps in radical gender ideology. These are the women disproportionately likely to end up as diversity, equity and inclusion administrators in universities, and to be in a position to enforce the illiberal tendencies they sharpened in university. Taken together, studies show that women in higher education are more likely than men to: believe hate speech is a form of violence; endorse shutting down a speaker; defer to Indigenous “ways of knowing” as equal in value to science; approve censure of scientific findings if they conflict with woke doctrine; and claim it should be illegal to say offensive things about certain minorities. When female activists meet with verbal opposition — as anyone who watches student protests on YouTube can observe — they are far more likely than men to react emotionally, sobbing or screaming, which effectively shuts down any dialogue, let alone the kind of open, sometimes abrasive debate that typifies male-dominated forums (like the male-dominant university I attended in the early ’60s, where I learned to think critically and fight my polemical corner with evidence, never — ugh! — tears). A 2011 study found that women cry emotional tears an average of 30-64 times per year, compared to five to 17 times for men. And it’s not the male students who are asking for “a designated place on campus to cry,” as one female student demanded during a cancellation crisis at Georgetown University’s law school. In his Substack, Richard Hanania, president of the Center for the Study of Partisanship and Ideology, tackled the quandary in an insightful recent post titled, “Women’s tears win in the marketplace of ideas.” He notes that it’s considered bad form to make women cry, while neither women nor men have sympathy for men who cry.2 points

That is an asinine article. Joe Biden is as establishment as they come. Vanilla. Very old vanilla. Get back to me when we come anywhere near impeachable abuses of power, let alone an attempted coup. Maybe he'll call Zelensky and threaten to withhold military aid from Ukraine unless Zelensky slanders his Republican opponent. ?2 points

But if that POS had gotten away with his election lies and his coup d’etat succeeded, then he’d be a dictator, whether you like him or not.2 points

I'm betting on a finding that's common in collision cases in maritime law, where it's rare to see blame being assigned 100% to one vessel or Master. Given how many Canadians are half convinced we're already dictated to by Nazis and commies hasn't this ship sailed a long long time ago? You didn't see Trudeau's tanks crushing the trucker's convoy last year? I'm pretty sure Goddess or some such around here did before the MSM/PMO's censors stopped us from seeing it. Maybe it'll be mentioned during the legal challenge. Seriously though it's great that the Canadian Civil Liberties Association is involved, hopefully they'll bring a big enough degree of seriousness to the challenge that blunt's anything really retarded from being cited by the applicants, like MSM brainwashing mind control conspiracies for example. I do think it would be useful to call WasteCanMan as an expert. He's the 7th smartest guy on the Internet and likely our country's (if not our planet's) foremost expert on the crimes and abuses committed by the government/MSM/Big Pharma.2 points

Well - that certainly was a compelling and well thought out response. Everyone involved will now take the next 18 hours to re evaluate their lives. Thank you for your guidance.2 points

We all want to move to democracy, so why are we following presidential systems in number of countries which are creating dictators ? Examples are Bolsanaro, Trump, Edogan, Putin and the list goes on. Not to mention 3 levels of bureaucracy - president, lower house/house of rep and senate/upper house. Why can't we all implement just Westminster system (where Prime Minister is the leader of the country) ?1 point

What we're seeing now is the further emasculation of western society, which was already underway especially in German and British societies, where men have been reduced to virtual ladyboys. Only this time trannys are being used to take it step further. The men themselves become women, fully on but even more so. More extreme, more outrageous. A characture of women. And this is specifically for presenting to the kids. It's many things but for one an assault on women's dignity. Carry on...1 point

Religion is involved in more wars than any other cause, have killed more people than any other cause or sickness, religion has been involved or is reasonable for most dark periods in human history, it was religion that had a major hand in how this nation treated our indigenous population during their supposedly reeducation programs, abused children etc etc etc.....It was Rome that had assisted in escaping Nazis after WWII, the list is full of examples of religion, not serving god, but instead of individuals religious workers, such as the pope, etc...So ya there are frauds... and a lot of them...1 point

the Totenkopf predates the Third Reich the Totenkopf actually originates under Frederik the Great with his Husaren-Regiment who became known as the "Death's Head Hussars" for their distinctive capbadge here is Kaiser Wilhelm II wearing the Totenkopf and make no mistake, Kaiser Bill absolutely despised Corporal Hitler and the Nazis1 point

Don't fool yourself. There is absolutely nothing democratic about the left. Joe Biden is a f*cking menace. Read below: "Biden's Not So Subtle Lurch Toward Dictatorship" https://www.heritage.org/progressivism/commentary/bidens-not-so-subtle-lurch-toward-dictatorship1 point

Well fair enough. Also fair enough. Sufficiently equitable. Ignoring the autocorrect error there sure. the situation is complex enough that we're likely beyond simple amendments. I would guess that there's a lot of moving parts that a solution would need to align across a number of acts.1 point

Yes is, you just carry on blithely assuming instead of knowing. It seems you can't help yourself. Must be those jerky knees of your's. There are also groups that challenge the abuse of power, who are unwilling to throw their hands up in despair. You're the one who's convinced here not me. You guess or assume? You also assume Canadians are okay with being told lies so I seriously doubt your ability to think straight about things. I'm assuming you can rise above yourself when you want to but I guess you're not in the mood.1 point

They will get away with whatever the public allows them to in any system. Many of these countries also have military, courts and national police that have been politicized. Uncommon in mature western democracies but not the rest of the world. I do not include the US in that category yet although their SC is a big concern. They elected Trump but also fired him 4 years later and wouldn't stand for his attempted coup. For all its ugliness, the checks are still working.1 point

Russian claims are completely ahistorical nonsense the Warsaw Pact then the Soviet Union itself : collapsed of its own accord NATO had nothing to do with it NATO was in fact caught completely off guard by it the Supreme Soviet met under the presiding General Secretary Gorbachev and that Soviet then voted itself out of existence nobody forced them to do that, they are the ones who voted to bring themselves down1 point

"A national civil liberties group is set to argue that "nebulous or strained claims" about economic instability or general unrest weren't enough to legally justify the Liberal government's use of the Emergencies Act early last year." What are they going to argue? What are they expecting? Both claims were addressed in the Report. Lets not bring up that non event again. Yes, a woman was pushed by a horse and fell down. Standing in front of a bunch of horse is inherently a dangerous thing. There was lots of yelling and screaming and crying and shouting police brutality but in the end, after she was released form hospital with no injuries, it all went away. No charges, no court, just lots of noise.1 point

Yes. I don't think celebrities get cancelled. Some of them lose jobs, but they don't ever lose their career unless they do something as bad as Bill Cosby. TBH, the only celebrities I can think of who legit got cancelled were Cosby, Harvey Weinstein, and Kevin Spacey.1 point

Sounds like something we should be saying to you actually. The same people who think school shootings should just be an everyday fact of life now want to force child rape victims to have their rapist’s baby and some are even suggesting rape victims who take the morning after pill following an attack should be eligible for the death penalty. Because they’re so “pro-life”1 point

Obviously, it's satire, so there's a slight exaggeration. But conservatives will support fascist politicians like Donald Trump, Viktor Orbán, Giorgia Meloni, and Benjamin Netanyahu. Then when you point out that these people are reactionary and anti-democracy, which is fascism, they'll say the line "you think anyone who disagrees with you is fascist!" Orbán is a literal dictator who was invited to speak at CPAC. But if you say this is an example of CPAC embracing fascism, they'll say the line.1 point

If you don't know what free speech is, sure. And yet these "small government" conservatives don't mind spending taxes on helping the rich. Interesting how that works. It's also pretty funny how baby-brains think anyone stands on their own in a society, as if you built the roads you drive on. You're against the government doing things, but you're also against defunding the police, because on some level you know that we ALL rely on government.1 point

Lol ok there’s no racism. Genius. 1. Talk about Canadian Cancer Society’s position on Scandinavian Diabetes. It must be that they want all Scandinavians to die of diabetes unless you can show that they’ve said something to the contrary. Otherwise they would have called themselves the All Countries All Diseases Society 2. Talk about Canadian Cancer Society’s plans to cure ALL medical conditions.1 point

I'm not sure he can explain it slower. You're simply wrong. "Delegates" refers to the already elected congresspeople from each state and the "state delegation" refers to the entire set from each state. Whether that is one (AK, WY, etc.) or 52 (CA), each delegation gets a single vote. You should just absorb the information, learn and move on. Indeed, the contingent election would have been a foregone conclusion that overturned the will of the voters entirely. That's why team Trump tried so hard to make it happen. They weren't "challenging" the election. They were trying to steal it outright through means they knew to be illegal.1 point

I can't speak for anyone else but I keep my thermostat low. I drive a small car. I have had upgrades to my home, windows, more attic insulation, high efficiency furnace. Soon new siding and Tyvek wrap underneath. I try not to drive on weekends. I cut out some things on groceries. And yet, in spite of all this, I am paying out more every month than ever before. I do have to go to work and public transit is not an option because of where I live. What more do you expect from people that are already getting squeezed?1 point

@Contrarian in science you do not have the option to ignore the evidence that you don't like or doesn't fit / isn't compatible with your favorite theory (that's what the good doctors did and do routinely, but that practice is not science). This is not how science works. The valid options are: - Point an error in the presented evidence - Add valid evidence of your own, by presenting it for an open and impartial review by the peers - Add logical arguments connecting the evidence with earlier established knowledge, again, open to a review and critical discussion - Update or reject your theory This is how science developed over the millennia now, to an astounding success and the good doctors can change or subvert this process (the scientific method) only to its detriment with serious risks and / or costs to the society.1 point
