Lol... Christian values are western values bud. Now lefties are trying to erode that by allowing pedos to change with little girls at the swimming pool but aside from the perverted nonsense in recent years Christianity has built the greatest civilization we've ever seen3 points

Seymour Hersh, the renowned journalist, has released a jaw dropping story on his sub stack. In it he accuses the US military of taking out the Nordstream 2 pipeline last fall. He has an unnamed whistle blower who has the receipts, apparently. This is no joke. All hell is going to break loose on Sleepy Joe. His threats to, “bring an end to the Nord Stream 2 pipeline”, were the single dumbest thing a president has ever uttered. So now the powers that be are trying to take down Seymour, cancel him, let’s just watch this develop. https://seymourhersh.substack.com/p/how-america-took-out-the-nord-stream?utm_source=substack&utm_campaign=post_embed&utm_medium=web “Last June, the Navy divers, operating under the cover of a widely publicized mid-summer NATO exercise known as BALTOPS 22, planted the remotely triggered explosives that, three months later, destroyed three of the four Nord Stream pipelines, according to a source with direct knowledge of the operational planning.”2 points

There's a lot of specific detail in his account here. But sure it could still be fake I guess. But somebody blew up those pipelines. If it were real I question why a journalist would report a story that would damage the interests of their country with no real good coming out of it.2 points

It WAS YOUR characterization of what left wing "extremists" believe AND what "NOBODY" is going to vote for. Firstly, YOU DON'T KNOW what Democrats are going to vote for HERE. Extreme weather IS HERE NOW. Secondly, AS I SAID, concern for the environment is NOT "extremist" just because YOU BELIEVE THAT. It the view of anyone who KNOWS about the science. AKA, not you. Your interpretation of "the world will end," is NOT what ANYONE SANE believes. You are just repeating the hyperbolic claims of nutcases.2 points

It's partly irritating and partly amusing how the Left in Canada is so disapproving of the US but at the same time is so desperate to imitate whatever the US Left is up to. Nothing makes that more obvious than the subject of Black people. About 13% of the US population is Black. They obviously have a very long history with racism and prejudice and the majority of Blacks in the US (or their parents and ancestors) experienced that history. And so they have things like affirmative action, and Black History Month and all kinds of 'anti-racism' seminars, lectures, books and insistence everyone take courses. Canada has no such history. That's not to say we were paragons of virtue but we simply had almost no visible minorities in this country prior to immigration being opened up in the nineteen seventies and eighties. Most visible minorities in Canada are immigrants. Most of the remainder are their kids, born to them here. Hasn't stopped our Left from doing their best to imitate the Americans. We too have hiring and promotion quotas for visible minorities - especially blacks. And we have the same fixation, even obsession with 'antiblack racism'. Black History month is where the Canadian Left searches desperately for something to say about Black people in Canada and about how important they were despite there being almost none of them here. Today, about 3% of the population is Black. In the 1970s there weren't more than 30k Black people in Canada. We put a black woman on the ten dollar bill, replacing our first prime minister with a beautician who had been fined a dollar for sitting in the wrong section of a movie theater. She appealed the fine, lost, and went back to being a beautician. There are no quotes from her because she never said anything notable. Then she moved to the United States. Not, I'm guessing, to escape the virulent racism in Canada. Canada Post has a new stamp for "Black history month". Who did they find, what notable person to put on the stamp? A woman who was a slave about 80 years before Canada was even formed. Apparently fearing the Empire was about to end slavery her master took her south to sell her in the US. She struggled and made a lot of noise so that people noticed. That was it, people. That's what get her a stamp. The governor of upper Canada banned such future transfers. Okay. So? It just shows the desperation our woke government has to invoke guilt and shame on our 'dark history', despite our history being as pure as the driven snow compared to just about every other nation on Earth. Because that's the purpose of such exercises. To shame Canada, and for Black people to wallow in victimhood while white liberals strut and virtue signal. It's divisive and stupid.1 point

First off you shut the hell off yourself. If you are stupid enough to not understand my writings then don't attack me like a wild animal out of cage. Read my posts. I did not blame Muslims as a whole but the ideology that some of those people acted and still acting the most recent examples are violence against women and children murders and rapes committed by a bunch of Islamic clergy in Iran and Taliban extremists in Afghanistan. Those whose ancestors committed those crimes 1400 years ago are still committing same crimes TODAY and they or the ideology they act upon both deserves condemnation as of 1400 years ago AND AS OF TODAY.1 point

I am not 'generally' unhappy. I'm specifically unhappy at the way we are being deliberately divided by government policy because the Liberals see this woke shit as politically advantageous in attracting left-wing voters who might otherwise vote for the NDP. I'm specifically unhappy at a government which has allowed our national security interests to take a greatly secondary priority to their electoral interests in attracting Chinese voters. I'm also specifically unhappy at them allowing our military to deteriorate to the point of uselessness because they don't see military spending as being politically beneficial enough. I'm specifically unhappy at how this government has worked against our natural resource industries instead of taking advantage of them, embraced climate change penalties for those who need energy - thus impoverishing us all while driving manufacturing offshore, all while accomplishing nothing. I'm specifically unhappy at drawing in massive amounts of immigrants to overwhelm our infrastructure, greatly increasing housing costs while holding labour costs low. I'm specifically unhappy that Canada is falling further behind our OECD competitors in wealth and economic well-being - as well as their attempts at hiding this by importing massive numbers to increase our GDP (while lowering our GDP per person). There are a lot of reasons to be unhappy here, and specifically unhappy at this government and its actions, statements and policies.1 point

There's a million ways to make things more efficient and technology is #1, I live where they're still 'faxing' things back and forth, taking days to get results from the hospital lab to the doctor's office 1,000 ft away and no one ever contacts patients back about anything. All results are on YOU to nag and pester and demand services. A central database that all doctors can access in an instant is needed, office staff should be required to take the results of every visit, enter them immediately with links to scans etc. instead of what I see - sitting with their thumbs up their ass reading the magazine that should be reserved for patients waiting in the lobby, THe database should spout a list to their clinic of who needs prescriptions renewed, has appointments there or is due at the lab and they should make an effort to call them to make things run smoother. Also, the doctor doesn't need to see you every time to renew an ongoing prescription unless there's new info or something changes. FFS I've been on metformin almost 8 years and they always tell me no appointments available for 6 weeks for a 2 month prescription renewal for something I'm supposed to take every effing day for the rest of my life. Just send an auto-refilling prescription to the drug store and call me and set up an appt. if a change is needed.1 point

I think this is even worse than the military, in a way. Where the military is a neglected and under-appreciated by our politicians, there's at least no conflict of interest in that. Nobody is really profiting from it. While we sit here mired in deficits, we've hobbled the only agency in the country responsible for bringing in revenue, and made it easier for criminals to launder money and for the wealthiest to play accounting games. Canada's a haven for these sorts of shenanigans, and perhaps I've a little conspiracy theorist in me as well, it's hard not to feel like this is how our MPs want it to be.1 point

Last week there was a show about Canadian black combat vets from WW2. They were denied certain positions in the military simply because of their race. In combat units they were treated as equals by their comrades but discriminated against when they got home. There was one incident cited where two black vets went into a coffee shop in uniform after they arrived back in Ontario and were refused service by an owner who was also a vet. This was not unusual at the time.1 point

Ancient? Was islamic state's genocide that long ago? Is it ancient history when the Iranian gov't was whipping women and sending them to prison for decades just for taking off their hijabs, or does that still happen today? Was it really that long ago that the taliban were shooting at girls for going to school? And they're pretty popular in Afghanistan, don't ya know? Pakistan has committed two religious genocides, each killing millions of people, since WWII. You'll tell any manner of blatant lie to defend your ridiculous narratives. This reminds me of when you were seeing the swastikas and confederate flags that the CBC told you to see. Pathetic.1 point

Now you’re making things up. At what point did I reference “adherents of the Muslim religion”. I referred to the government of the Islamic Republic. Not once did I “exonerate Christian nationalists from killing worshippers.” You’re lumping people together unjustifiably and making all sorts of assumptions about what people think. It’s very irresponsible. Poor moderation, if that’s what you’re still attempting to do.1 point

From the article: "He was referring to testimony by CRA commissioner Bob Hamilton to MPs in late January that “it wouldn’t be worth the effort” to review and try to recover every dollar of $15.5 billion in Canada Emergency Wage Subsidy (CEWS) payments recently flagged by the auditor general. " If they can get 90% of it back i'm fine with that.1 point

The statement isn't that it's not worth the effort to collect any of the overpayments. He said it wasn't worth the effort to review or collect all of it. I don't really agree with his position, but then we gutted the CRA back in the Harper years and Canada has become a hotbed of tax evasion and criminal money laundering for awhile now. The Trudeau government's done nothing to improve the situation. Simply put, we've understaffed the only agency in the country responsible for government revenue and can barely even go after the most egregious and obvious offenders. The average business owner can get away with almost anything these days, and only the remote fear of audits keeps any of them honest.1 point

The New York Post has covered this story: https://nypost.com/2023/02/08/seymour-hersh-claims-us-navy-behind-nord-stream-2-pipeline-explosion/ “Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said in response to Hersh’s report that Moscow has “repeatedly expressed” its belief that the US and NATO were involved in the explosions. Prior to the invasion, President Biden had threatened that the Nord Stream 2 project connecting Russia and Germany would not move forward if an attack took place, causingsome to suspect US involvement when the pipelines exploded seven months later.” …“Hersh’s report suggested Biden ordered the explosions to stop Russian President Vladimir Putin from “weaponiz[ing] natural gas for his political and territorial ambitions,” as Germany — and the rest of Europe — relied heavily on Russia for natural gas. Without the pipelines, Europe would be forced to end its reliance on Moscow, starving Russia of billions of dollars that could have been contributed to its war effort, the report alleged. Hersh, a former reporter for the Associated Press and New York Times as well as a longtime contributor to the New Yorker, quoted White House spokesperson Adrienne Watson as calling his report “false and complete fiction.” Hersh also quoted CIA spokesperson Tammy Thorp, who wrote in an email: “This claim is completely and utterly false.”1 point

Trump is doing exactly what he is supposed to do....BE TRUMP, not giving a damn about the impact on existing political machinery...instead, hoping to cause as much chaos as possible, which is a sandbox that favours his chances, same as in 2016. Disrupt...disrupt...disrupt. Keep getting free media attention, even in Canada. The burden is not on Trump, as he is playing with house money, having already won (and lost) the presidency. He certainly cannot do any worse than many other GOP wannabes. No, the burden is on the Republican party to find its way out of this quandry on its own, Trump be damned. Trump is not a long term strategy. Consolidating gains in the House and winning back the Senate should be a higher priority.1 point

No, Trump never "became" a conservative. Attempting to end the republic and seize the presidency without being elected is not conservative. Suggesting we suspend the constitution to put him back in office is not conservative. Those actions are radical in the extreme, far more radical than the "socialists" who hope to persuade people to vote one way or another. Trump never became anything other than the self-obsessed megalomaniac he's always been.1 point

1. I said: "Organization and management professionals are professionals and a domain of expertise on their own. Medical people have weight and perhaps even veto over organizational changes but they should not be in charge of organizations, normally, IMO. Paying people more as an incentive is an option, so to say that someone gets paid a lot doesn't say whether they provide value for the $. I also say that an informed "public" (and I don't mean all voters, the general public or the masses really) will help us have better discussions. Those are ideas I don't see often. I thought you were agreeing with me because you put some blame on poor administration. 2. Ok, so what declined ? I think that organizations need renewal and the comments you make about Healthcare have been echoed in Education, Policing and General Services too. And the echoes come from people inside the system. Organizational renewal is hard, and success is hard in a world where every misstep is broadcast as evidence of failure. 3. I used to hear this from teachers too - that the "suits" were "others" who only cared about money. Maybe, but that's evidence of bad management right - if they act that way or even if they are perceived that way ? Let's stop thinking of managers and sales people as selfish c***ts should should be got rid of. The question is: Who should the managers be listening to - which classes of stakeholders ? It seems to me to be: Patients and providers, as people, and taxpayers as the ultimate bosses. It sounds simple but I have seen that triangle used in management, generally, and it's a great way to think of things. If anybody answers automatically with "spend more" or "cut" then they don't understand the concept of providing help for $, which is what this is about. A smart "public" understands this, which we have never had.1 point

Right now, a DOWNS SYNDROME teenager would do a better job than ANY Democrat. But if you're looking for a preview of President Trump's second term (outside of his reversing Unelected Joe's WORST policies, getting gas prices down, taming inflation, and fixing the clusterfck overseas) this little speech bought his reelection, (at least in the minds of reasonable and intelligent people.) Ronald Reagan was very old in his second term and he STILL accomplished miracles. Right now Trump is the BEST president of the 21st Century and he should get his second term (one he ALREADY won in 2020.) And AGAIN we Floridians do not want our amazing Governor to short us even a DAY of his brilliance as governor. When President Trump's second term is over, Governor DeSantis will be the perfect choice to continue the run of prosperity, world peace and security for the United States. Trump is going to run in 2024, and I can understand the concerns about his age. But we are looking ahead into the future, the unknown. Let’s first take a look at what he’s been up to since Jan 20, 2021. He’s been working hard since he left office, hasn’t he? Rally after rally, and more importantly, speaking the truth about the Biden government wherever he goes. The border. The economy. The trans, climate, and Ukraine agendas. Hunter. On and on it goes, dropping truth bombs. Thats been giving conservatives hope and courage all this time, all across North America. When there otherwise didn’t seem to be any. He’s been relentless, not bad for an old guy. And fighting off dozens of law suits at the same time. I’ve never seen anything like it. His efforts have helped to give energy to conservative pundits and the social media platforms. People I watch on YouTube for instance. We all know he’s doing things in the background that may never even come to light. He’s earned the right to step into the ring one more time. The media that hounded him are down by one. CNN, or the fake news, as he liked to call them, are toast. Do you think that’s a coincidence? He won that battle. But if he runs, he’ll be wiser in regards to the needless tweeting, etc, I think. Oh yeah, that’s two down, since Twitter is now an ally. A good running mate, and he’s a shoo-in. Really, in spite of the 2000 asses.1 point

1. I don't think it is. 2. I don't think I have. 3. I do not. The principle you and others are employing is to tie ancient historical events to present day adherents of the Islamic religion. It's pointless and unhelpful. 4. You seem to think that tying things to historical wrongs from this century is ridiculous and yet defend some blather about Ancient Persians as relevant to today's Muslims. 5. On the contrary, intellectual dishonesty and unprincipled points of view are the death of moral dialogue. You want to blame people for things that happened in Medieval times and exonerate Christian nationalists from killing worshippers it seems to me. You need to gain some context IMO.-1 points

1. "Proper" .... riiiight.... Remind me to consult on you on proper interpretation of the Bible and Koran. And I take it there's a proper way to extract the sins outlined in the OLD testament because some of them are proper, right ? 2. You have just completed a circular explanation: Why are there violent Muslims ? "Why they are affected by their holy books" But other religions have bad passages in their holy books "Yes, but their adherents aren't violent" 3. I don't agree. It's your insistence that you are morally superior because of your selective "proper" interpretation of your Holy Book that I think is hateful. You are simply better than them, in your view.
