  1. We should prioritize by funding and making existing programs work properly before we spend on new ones. You can't demand billions to fix something you already have while at the same time demand billions in new spending for new programs. That's a sure way to be half assed or worse at everything. Singh wants everything with no regard how to pay for it.

  2. This guy is on his way to the White House. So is Kari Lake, they should be a team… Edit: I’m not saying 2024, btw. Although, even if. Can you imagine Trump with one of these 2 as running mate? Knock out punch, as long as the voting mechanism is clear of cheating and mules.

  3. Every new spending program is a blatant redistribution of wealth. Most people will never see $10 a day daycare or free child dental care. These aren’t universal programs. A small segment of the population will enjoy these benefits at a time of extreme public debt. These programs are headlines to buy votes.

  5. Katie Hobbs was the Sec of State, and therefor in charge of overseeing the Az gubernatorial election that she just 'won'. As the SoS she sent at least two requests to Twitter to remove tweets for alleged misinformation" and Twitter complied. This is in addition to refusing to recuse herself from overseeing the election that she was running in, the ballot fiascos that occurred under her watch, and the counting fiasco in Maricopa County. I haven't been keeping a close eye on the Arizona election, but it was a pretty bush-league event to say the least.

  7. Al Capone was a hell of a crook, but it wasn't until he failed to pay his taxes that he went to prison. The facts are that Trump's company stole over $17million dollars from the tax payers of New York. No "persecution" involved. Just equal justice before the law. Can hardly wait the Trump and adult children's trial next October. They are at risk of a minimum of $250 million and designation as a felony convicted fraudulent enterprise.

  11. "To Leftists, the solution to all forms of inequality is to call for equity. They believe that the single source of solutions is governmental regulations that provide direct advantages to those deemed “disadvantaged.” The leftist theory, extracted from communist dogma, is that it is responsibility government is to make outcomes “equal.” " Simplified pap. Let's talk about "united we stand" "right to work" "corporate payouts" "limited liability" and all of the pro-combine, business protectionist policies that Republicans invoke to please the masters that pay for their campaigns. If access is so equal, why are working people falling behind ? Even the right-wing folks on this board seem to think so, although they'll attribute it to an 11 cent carbon tax or TFWs working at Tim Hortons...

  12. TomT is the American version of a Michael Hardner here. He's a leftist who feels like his opinions will pack more punch if he starts his sentences with "I'm a conservative, but...." and then he rattles off a litany of CNN talking points such as "I believe in Russian collusion, the FBI's crimes don't matter, Trump's characterization of the amount of rainfall during his inauguration is the most serious lie ever foisted on the American people, etc". Just think about the blatant partisan idiocy of this one comment: The Dems have gone so far as to say that anyone who supports Trump is a danger to America, they talk about how conservatives are the main terrorists in America, they ran America through the mud for 3 years with their bogus Russian collusion BS, they used covid as a wedge issue instead of fighting it along with Republicans, they tol their voters to "get in the faces of Republican politicans and push back on them", they pretended that calls for violence against the president were freedom of speech issues, they called protests at SCJ's houses free speech, etc. Democrats are the very worst in the world at defining their political opponents as “the enemies of America”, and it's not even close. TomT = Michael Harnder with a southern drawl.

  13. Who is cheering on an invasion? Contrarian described a bunch of positions when it comes to the war in Ukraine, but he forgot to mention folks comfortable subscribing to binary thought, because: · If you’re against the war in Ukraine you must be a Kremlin/Putin apologist · If you think Biden is a spaz you must be a fan of that uncouth bully named Trump · If you question Lula’s rise back to power you must be a pro-fascist Bolsonaro supporter · If you doubt how organic most social uprisings are you must be a conspiracy theorist · If you want Hunter Biden made accountable you must want to give the Trump kids a pass · If you’re for abortion you must be a demonic baby killer · If you’re for gun control you must be an unpatriotic wuss · If you’re for border control you must be a heartless racist · If you’re for legalizing all drugs you mustn’t care about how drugs destroy families or be a druggie yourself. · If you’re for funding the police you must be for police brutality · If you’re for heightened mental illness awareness you must want increased discrimination. · If you’re for lowering taxes you must be a selfish elitist · If you’re for limited government you must be an out-of-touch idealist And so it goes… Binary thought prevails because it doesn’t concern itself with nuances or the pursuit of integrity. It provides an easy go-to argument that doesn’t require thinking and is the reason why too many feel comfortable subscribing to it.

  16. You have to admit, prior to Musk taking over Twitter, their hate speech policies were most certainly not applied equally. They banned the Post, but Twitter didn't take these tweets down (nypost.com) To be perfectly accurate, Twitter didn't really have a hate speech policy that was intended to be fair, it was only about shutting down opposing views to the left. In the link I posted, there is the Ayatollah tweeting that he wants death for American politicians (Trump administration at the time). Apparently, that did not violate Twitters hate speech policy and it is still up. Most people on the left simply cannot distinguish free speech from actual hate speech.

  20. Never trust the government to look after you. Look after yourself. You care a lot more about yourself and your family than the government does. The politicians don't care. They have privileged access to the healthcare system. They will NEVER wait to get their kids looked at. Rich people can also go to the US to get treatment. No 2-tier my butt.

  21. The problem is they want to increase spending (the politicians on the left) but they don't want to increase taxes to pay for it. Increasing spending is popular, and increasing taxes is not. Being fiscally responsible if clearly not a priority at the polls. We can have whatever programs and spending we want as long as we're also willing to pay for it. The provinces can fix the healthcare system tomorrow because its caused by a staffing shortage. The solution is to temporarily increase pay for medical staff in hospitals until the health pressures caused by the pandemic is over. However, the provinces don't want to fix the problem, because it costs money. They would rather wait for the feds to bail them out and give them the money...until it starts hurting the premiers in the polls. Let's never forget: most of our politicians, especially the ones who have had any success, are self-interested careerist sociopaths. It's very hard to get to be powerful by being nice or ethical. I'm sure the back benchers for the NDP are mostly nice people.

  30. On the other side of the coin, what does it mean to be left-wing? I think it's complete nonsense to suggest that it's the Republicans who are moving farther to the right when compared to how far to the left the Democrats have clearly moved. It is the Democrats that are constantly putting down their own country and it's history. It is the Democrats that are attacking the Constitution, particularly free speech and the right to bear arms. It is Democrats that invite drag queens into schools while denying parents rights. It is the Democrats that sit back while crime flourishes in their cities. Biden appointed a Socialist as one of his economic advisors (Bernie Sanders) ! There are more radical Democrats than there are radical Republicans.

I don't operate myself based on my "feelings" nor by what twits like Biden and even McConnell say...and certainly not based on anything CNN, MSNBC, NYT or WAPO say. But you go ahead and cheer this on. We all know by now that NATO is NOT going to battle with Russia, over Ukraine. Especially not over the Russian portion of Ukraine. It ain'-a-gonna happen. No...they'll just dump OUR money into the bottomless pit that is Ukraine, making Comic-Boy and his band of arms dealers rich. 'More sanctions on Russia! Ohhh...we got that evil Putin now boy!' 38. No it hasn't. The rest of the world has simply become more left wing. Even just 20 years ago much of what you're calling radical would be called common sense. The Republican elite that took over the party during the Bush years are the only problem. Take your Mitch McConnells and your Lindsey Grahams and your Thom Tillis's and start your "New Republican Party" then. You'll be missed less than you think. 42. Hope MTG can get some support on this one: " Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA-14) wants a federal investigation in Arizona where Kari Lake is disputing results of the gubernatorial election against Secretary of State Katie Hobbs, whose office reports preliminary results that Hobbs has won 50.3 percent to 49.6 percent. Greene’s call was also a reaction to a post of emails showing that Hobbs’ office reported misinformation tweets to Twitter on January 7, 2021. “The SOS of AZ and Gov candidate, Katie Hobbs, used the power of the AZ SOS to collude w/ Twitter to unconstitutionally violate 1st Amendment rights of Americans for her own political gain. This is communism and Hobbs can not be governor. I’m calling for a Federal investigation,” Greene tweeted Sunday morning." https://georgiastarnews.com/2022/12/05/georgia-u-s-marjorie-taylor-greene-calls-for-federal-investigation-over-emails-from-arizona-sec-state-hobbs-to-twitter/

  44. Nobody HAS to lie. It's just a choice you've made. I gave you the chart directly from the FED. The other is simply because I don't trust that you know who was president in a given year. Because it's factually correct that Democrats reduce deficits over their terms while Republicans generally grow them. Clinton turned the Bush 1 deficits into a surplus. Obama (the biggest Democrat deficits) took office amidst the economic crash of the great recession and after the Bush 2 deficits from his first year, decreased them over the next 8. Trump grew the deficit again over his years and Biden is again reducing Republican deficits. This is all easily verifiable fact if you simply look at the data from the Fed or CBO or anywhere else. You're welcome to debate the "why" of any given point, but the facts and figures are simply what they are. And your buddy Reagan, despite preaching fiscal responsibility, ran huge deficits and is the first modern president to blow up the national debt. But hey, at least his term coincided with a robust economy (for which he should've thanked Carter and Volcker.
