The mandates set forth by the government and the response to the Ottawa protest were in violation of the Charter. https://bwcentral.org/2022/02/last-living-premier-to-sign-canadas-charter-in-speech-to-freedom-convoy-section-1-of-charter-being-illegally-used-by-governments/ I assume your argument is based on the idea that; A. The Rona was a big enough emergency to scrap the Charter. B. The bureaucratic community in Ottawa being inconvenienced, are more important than the Charter. Well...the architect of the final copy of the Charter happens to disagree with that. And knowing what we do about The Rona and the mountain of lies we've been fed in order to maintain this trashing of Canadian rights and freedoms, clearly shows how our current government feels about Canada and her citizens. You wanna defend this trash? Go ahead. That is your "right" as a Canadian and I would defend that right. You however...have a very selective idea on how the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms should be interpreted, and I suspect you'd stand idly by while thousands of fellow Canadians are destroyed, simply for protesting and providing a little inconvenience for the Ottawa bureaucratic army.3 points

-Freedom of Assembly (police became violent) -Freedom of Association (government froze the GiveSendGo/GoFundMe) -Due process (bank accounts were frozen without due process or criminal charges) -Unlawful detainment (protesters were put in handcuffs only to be dropped out of the city) Shall I go on?3 points

We’ve learned that there’s no outside to the Liberal Party in Canada. Any forces that run counter to official narratives are deemed racist-fringe-misogynist. That’s the game. Demonize, and if you can get away with it, criminalize the opposition. The actions of our government in recent months are unprecedented in their level of overreach. We’ll see what the civil liberties legal action can do. Much legal action afoot, but the denial and whitewashing are pervasive.2 points

I was saying exactly that on Friday to a friend at hockey. With Trudeau as PM I was terrified when Trump was elected. I was not sure he had the good sense to keep his mouth shut and not try to score cheap political points poking that big orange pig. Surprisingly, he mostly did aside from a few gaffes. Doug Ford was another welcome surprise. At the start of COVID he was the most articulate and most forthcoming of pretty much all of Canada's federal and provincial leaders. The messaging got confusing as time went on but he did a better job than Trudeau I would say overall. Listening to people smarter than you is type of intelligence in itself.2 points

You don’t know, actually. There are cases before the courts and an Ontario judge has already granted a parent’s right to refuse a vaccine for her child. Peckford has a big challenge before the court. The use of the Emergencies Act is also under review. I’ll only agree with you insofar as the courts are generally aligned politically with the Liberals, which is a huge problem. The judge who ruled against Tamara Lich was a former Liberal candidate. Not exactly blind justice. Also, our press, which relies heavily on government funding, is hardly a free press anymore. These facts are becoming increasingly clear to Canadians.2 points

Quarantine is different as its actually in legislation. Mask wearing for healthy people, discriminatory travel bans, and coerced vaccinations are the main issues.2 points

The Charter of Rights and Freedoms continues to be violated by our federal government. You cannot take away citizens’ rights. Vaccine mandates do this, as they restrict movement and the ability to work. Our constitutional freedoms can only be suspended under an emergency. There’s no public health emergency anymore, yet the federal government refuses to even discuss removing vaccine mandates and passports. Why? No one can honestly say that this is an accident, as we just saw Trudeau bring in the Emergencies Act to crush protests against vaccine mandates. Why? The only reasonable conclusion I can come to is that the federal government wants to reserve the right to control your movements and remove constitutional freedoms based on whatever criteria it wants to add to your digital ID vaccine passports. This is straight out of the WEF and WHO playbooks. It’s not even a secret anymore. It’s not a conspiracy. Our federal government has handed authority to international bodies, completely abdicating Canadian democracy and sovereignty. Of course this is all crazy nonsense, right? Why would we ever let such a thing be done to Canadians? Trudeau has maintained vaccine mandates and passports, and he won’t even discuss their removal. Actions speak louder than words. Canada is well on its way to authoritarianism.2 points

Lying again are ya...what a surprise. This is a word-salad lie. Poilievre's plan is to speed up the EVALUATION of skills of any immigrant who wants to work in his or her trained profession in Canada. For instance, a doctor from India. A nurse from Syria. Such people should not be cabbies or cashiers at the grocery store. That's called "merit-based immigration". But you already knew that and decided to lie instead...Mr. faux conservative.2 points
-
So...you agree with how the Trudeau government trashed the Charter of Rights. OK understood. This folks, is the Libbie mentality. Laws and constitutions don't matter. What matters is their beliefs and desires. Remember that and also remember to thank these people for their support of authoritarianism.2 points

Trump was the best POTUS since Reagan it is Biden who will go down as one of the worst most Canadians are on the far left and their perception of the freedom convoy is a clear example of that PP is a run of the mill Harpercon, and you think that is somehow worse than Trudeau which just goes how far to the left you are O'Toole was much further left than Harper and he still wasn't far enough to left for you to even come close to voting for him you won't vote for any CPC candidate at this point no matter how much further they move to left all you will see is Donald Trump regardless they could become the furthest left party in Canada and you'd still consider them far right white supremacists who are ignorant, distasteful and stupid, regardless of their actual politics you will simply vote for whoever the media claims the "knowledgeable, tasteful and smart" voters are going to vote for and against whoever the media claims the "ignorant, distasteful and stupid" voters are going to vote for you do not think for yourself and you have no principles, you've descended into knee jerk identity politics2 points

Is Canada a threat to the peaceful existence of the USA? Not at all, we're very weak compared to them. But look at it from this angle: What if Canada decides to enter into a military pact with China, Iran, Russia and NoKo, allowing them to park soldiers, tanks, artillery, and strategic nukes here? What if it's known to the Americans that we are operating multiple bioweapons research labs here in partnership with China and Iran to work with bioweapons that terrorists are interested in? What if the Americans warned us not to to do but we kept inching closer and openly stating our keen interest in furthering such a pact with those guys? What if the Americans started massing hundreds of thousands of troops on our border and we still kept saying "Let's get this pact going" and it was getting closer to a reality every day? Then China sends their VP here who says: "Let's get this thing signed"? Would the US stand by and let China, Russia, NoKo and Iran park their weapons here? What did the US do when Cuba built missile silos to hold Russian nukes? Was Cuba a threat to America? Were they a sovereign nation like Ukraine with every right to form their own military alliances? How many people in Canada and the US are angry that Kennedy threatened war with Russia if they didn't remove their nukes? How is the Ukraine situation different? I know that 99% of leftists have already formed their own opinions and they won't be able to understand any of this, whatever.2 points

Blah, blah, blah. Another leftist who "has legitimate sources but won't name them". Why is that such a common refrain, EF? Why is it that you don't want to admit that you sometimes watch CTV and you feel like it's "the news"? Or CNN? CBC? Global? Why don't you come out and say that you don't think that 'C__' is nothing more than propaganda? Or Global? WashPo? The Star? NYT? How is it that you know you'll be a laughing stock the second you say you believe any of that shit, but yet you still believe in your heart of hearts that they're legitimate? And you still regurgitate their screed? C'mon EF, take the puck to the net, don't just be a perimeter player. Support a MSM outlet. Pick a side. Are you a man or a mouse?1 point

I'm happy for her but some Canadians are assholes and are not showing the same compassion... It is just that, a good number of Russians don't want this war, and a good majority of them probably don't know what is happening, except what is being broadcast on state media...As for Marina, god knows what has happened to her, one could only guess , but would it surprise anyone if she was no longer with us...would it be the first time this happened.. Your putting words in my mouth again, i did not say that nor was it my intent to say that, i said our contempt should be for those responsible, not joe blow Russian... I call it war, and I'm good with all the action NATO has been doing...but Russian Canadians are not aggressors as the Canadians Chinese were not responsible for the actions of china... and like i said before some Canadians are assholes...did you see the reception alex Ovenkin got from Calgary fans...he denounced Russia's acts many times, shit the NHL was considering banning all Russian players form playing the game...along with the special Olympics banning Russian athletes because they had a role in this whole thing... some times we get carried away... And while sanctions are good at the moment , but once they have destroyed their economy, and Russians go hungry in the streets, it will force Putin to escalate even farther...all these actions must be measured carfully...1 point

Trudeau is holding onto them. My guess is that another crisis will be manufactured soon to justify continued unconstitutional controls over the population. I take that stance until I see the Nazi health purity pass removed. I don’t trust our government because they’ve proven themselves to be an oppressive anti-democratic force.1 point

Nobody has my vote yet. You got caught making a false statement. You want to call that "lack of clarity", which I and several others apparently, have noticed you do almost daily. Your addled grasp of "clarity" seems to conflict with your pronouncements of being "conservative". Quite honestly, I get the sense that you're a CBC writer or something like that.1 point

1. Oh for FS. 'Skilled Immigrants" are a subset of immigrants. Imagine if you parsed everything from your side so carefully and haughtily declared 'lies' as often. Imagine... I think that in 10 years, his advisors and team will be more famous than him. Given the major trifecta of challenges with Trump, Covid and the Ukraine War he has a lot to deal with for someone without qualifications. I maintain that he, and Doug Ford, had the basic wisdom to recognize that they are the face of their advisors. And it's lucky for us too.1 point

But in your world, MSM is all the same source. Which it's not. Fox News will frequently report similar facts to CNN. Such hyperbole is unrealistic. You need to work on your narrative devices comrade.1 point

The numbers were posted. What is not clear here? Norway, no vaccination mandates, peak fatality rate: 13 Sweden, no mandates or lockdowns, ever: 50 Ontario, count lost of mandates and lockdowns: 80+ Proportional to Ontario's population: 35; 70.5; 82. That is Ontario, Quebec with the same plus curfews, even worse: 73 versus Sweden's 50, with a smaller population. What else can be added here? These are the facts, what kind of bullsh*t pseudo "science" can convince you that objective facts looking in your face are wrong and their mantra, the correct, alternate reality?1 point

1) Ukraine is several times bigger than all of those states. It's easier for Russia to find targets that they need to eliminate in a small space than in a large one. It's easier for their spies to get the info from that small area. 2) Those Baltic states are a problem, but you eat an elephant one bite at a time. Russia is doing what they can right now.1 point

Hey Demmie you play stupid like a world champion. So was Cuba. Can you refresh my memory about what happened when they built Russian missile silos there? Can you tell me how many Americans think that Kennedy was wrong to threaten the Soviets with war for that? So I have facts and history on my side, and you're just gonna keep playing stupid because it's all you've got. Thanks for coming out.1 point

Did you watch it? Blackwater killing civilians - children and all. The US government that hired them, supposedly distancing themselves from them, but renewing their contract in 2007 and never keeping any of them accountable. That is because US army and them are basically the same same thing - going after the same interests. You can also witness the propaganda, calling those killers "civilians". US civilians in the middle of the war in Fallujiah? Civilians, my ass! Don't care what you call the arguments but it is clear what Russia does today is not in any way different from what USA did in Iraq, Afghanistan and other countries around the world.1 point

Looking back now, it seems such shutdowns are only useful in the short term, a few weeks. Beyond that they cause harm. Not just the harm to economy or mental health, but makes the virus worse. Whether people agreed with the convoy or not, all Canadians should be extremely concerned about how the government handled it. It is so sad that people are so wrapped up in the existence of Jesus, that they miss the message he brought. It is not what you believe that is important, but how you live, and how you treat your fellow man. If everyone learned the teachings of Jesus, and tried to live as he taught us to, the world would be a better place.1 point
