  1. 1. Are you saying that you are not addressing me, or your addressing all the other you's out there ?... 2. I'm not acting .... i am explaining to you their is a right side and left side and center who can't make up their minds...and that there is a huge difference in mind set and thinking between the right and the left...how do you explain the difference in opinions on say deficits, spending, social programs, law and order, pipe lines and other infra structure. if everyone thought the same, why do we need different parties... The bridge gap you talk about is the center and those that have not made their minds up, or want to pick a side that offers more... but between conservative and liberal the gap is wide they may agree on a handful of issues... nothing more... And right now no one is talking to each other, unless you have a different source, watch CPAC for 30 mins tell me they are cooperating or will to see each others point of view, or maybe your watching a different government work than i am... 3... your explaining the center here... 4.. No my goal in life is to write shit that pisses you off... look you don't have to like what i write or like my opinions, i am not selling you anything...it is my opinion... And i know this is going to be hard to read, but some of the shit you write does not make any sense to me either... 5. don't get me wrong i have learned some things from you and others, on this forum it is one of the main reasons I've stayed this long.... and i am normally the first to admit when i am wrong....or when I've been proven wrong... There is the center vote to which i have acknowledge exists on numerous times...that being said I have repeatedly said there is no comparison between someone that has voted for Justin, or remains a supporter of Justin to a person that voted anyone other party...certainly not conservative party voters... Here comes those wild lies again, i can not support a man that is dishonest , out rights lies to Canadians on a regular basis, that breaks what rule he wants only to get a small slap on the wrist...a leader who can't seem for the life of him make a timely decision on most topics or serious issues in this country, and when he does manage to make one it is so vague it is comical real, his reputation inter national is a joke, which reflects on out nation a great deal...he is good at apologizing to any number of groups or people, and he is a very emotional guy who can tear up in a moment notice... I've grown up in a military family, so has my Son, myself, and my father words like honesty, honor, loyalty, integrity, hardworking, mean something...and i don't see any of that in Justin... and i can not for the life of me, see those that voted or supported him having the same respect for those words as well... for me that is the divide, that i can not see past...

  2. Keep your fascist ideas out of Canada. If you want to wear a space suit and hide in your basement, knock yourself out, but don’t impose your arbitrary controls on citizens. You got to oppress people for two years. Take your wins and go home.

  4. Whether people agreed with the convoy or not, all Canadians should be extremely concerned about how the government handled it. The lying media, the stolen funds, the jailing and beating of protesters, the freezing bank accounts.....the actions were all very Russia/China, not Canadian democracy.

  5. In contradiction to all I have said, you should read Michael Crichton's State of Fear. It is a thriller. In it, he talks about the Political-Legal- Media complex. Those three industries depend on keeping people in a state of fear, with the threat of communism in the 50's nuclear war in the 60's and 70's, etc. In the current period, it is global warming. While his skepticism of global warming has been questioned, his arguement about the politisization of science is valid. So, Z, you might be right. To avoid accusations of complete thread drift, I will say that we need a leader with a positive vision rather than just being against things. Rather than just pointing out the failings of the grits, we need to be looking ahead. Whether climate change is real or not, it is an opportunity for a long term ecomomic boom. We need to re-vitalize, not just the economy, but our outlook on the future.

  10. Can't speak for Boges, but myself, I've been making a bit of a personal study of cable news since the Ukraine thing began. I go for news updates now and sometimes stick around. It's interesting. I haven't spent so much time on those leftist cable news stations since the last big conflict. Can't even remember which one that was. CBC is on boycott with me, and I don't get Fox so not them, but Global and CTV 24 hrs. Also MSNBC and CNN. I find CNN and Global the worse. The blatancy of their BS is joke-worthy. CNN kind of surprised me because the new management has been saying he wants to get the network back to the days of long ago when the claim of "most trusted name in news' wasn't met with derision, mockery if not outright guffaws. To make a long story short don't hold your breath waiting for that one. It's not happening right now. That's for sure. Without having current knowledge of CBC TV news (personal boycott) I'll say Global is the worst in Canada for partisan, twisting, spinning contortion of something they like to call news. CTV and MSNBC are surprising me. They're locked into the narrative, of course, but the narrative doesn't necessarily always have to be wrong. The caution with those two would be when they start to present what they call experts and especially if there's a panel. When those guys come on change the channel. Save yourself some mind warp.

  11. You have a lot of "what ifs" in that post, however you have not explained how Ukraine is a threat to Russia. But for the sake of the discussion let's see what threat they could be. There are two possibilities that one might argue is a threat. 1. Ukraine joins NATO. The problem is NATO by definition is strictly a defensive treaty. By their bylaws they cannot instigate an attack on Russia. As long as Russia doesn't attack a NATO member they have nothing to worry about. 2. Ukraine joins the UE. The UE by its very nature cannot mount an aggression against Russia because of the complexity of the organization. The physical threat to Russia in both instances is slim to none. This is not about a threat to Russian sovereignty, but Russia's sphere of influence and its political system. If Ukraine becomes a western style democracy and thrives, then Russians might want the same and Putin cannot allow that to happen and he is prepared to destroy the Ukraine in have his way. Of course he has miscalculated in the extreme. The Ukrainians have not folded up like a cheap blanket, the west has not stood by and much to my surprise neither have multinational corporations. Who would have thought that MacDonald's would shut down their 500 plus stores with the resultant hit to the bottom line. Of course you could argue that it is just good PR, but they are also going to continue to pay their employees for no work. Let hope Putin doesn't do something stupid.

  13. It's not anyone's win if we go back into lock down once again... I have discussed this with some others and it was agree both sides are not going to change their positions ever..... you say science is responsible for the recent down grading of mandates, i say it is becasue of mandate fatigue... The science and a lot of doctors are saying now is not the time to relax soon but not now...their science has been thrown out the window... Pandemic warnings from the Feds are still in High... mode, numbers are coming down but they are higher than what initially threw us into lockdown also said to have been based on science...i guess all the sciences are not on the same page or they would not be any confusion as to what is going on...science is what ever the politicians what it to be...

  14. Okay so now we have a right, a left and then a centre. Great. Now we're getting somewhere. Even amongst those groups, however, there are wide ranges of attitudes and they can't be strictly defined. Rather than looking at this (as you seem to) as a one-dimensional sliding scale of left to right, you'd be better of looking at it as a Venn diagram, where the groups and subgroups within them have varied attitudes that can overlap on some issues but disagree completely on others. A red Tory, for example, might be on board for everything you said above. He/she just might also be pro-immigration, strongly pro-science and emphatically anti-Trump, which would put him in conflict with parts of the Conservative base. This voter therefore has to measure the trade-offs and will end up voting for the party that can reassure . You don't have to support Trudeau. He's deeply unpopular and your views are shared by people across the political spectrum - liberals, conservatives, NDPers, quebecquers etc. He should be easy to defeat...unless the opposition is Pierre Poilievre and Jagmeet Singh. ?

  22. That’s my whole point. Russia wouldn’t be taking extreme measures to protect its security if she hadn’t been treated like the enemy after the Soviet Union collapsed. All that relationship-building with Gorbechev, Glasnost, Perestroika, the inclusion of Russia in the G8, the joint missions to the International Space Station…all for nought now, because we couldn’t help ourselves from NATO expansionism. But whatever, Putin is a madman, all things Russian are bad, ignore extremist elements in Ukraine, and fuel the fire of military conflict rather than seeking a good political solution.

  24. I know what your overall position is, it's called abject stupidity. You said that some of my comments were wrong but you don't have the balls to talk about any of it. Go cry to your mommy if you think that what I said is wrong, I'll post the facts again, just so that they don't get lost in the shuffle: Q: How bad did her handling of the Benghazi (learn that spelling) have to be in order for her to be investigated on 7 different accounts? Info: She actually was 100% caught on a lie about "why the attack happened". Info: The attack went on for 13 hours and the group that finally rescued the Americans weren't even "other Americans" or known allies, they weren't even a Libyan militia that the US gov't contacted themselves, check this out: https://www.businessinsider.com/benghazi-militia-gaddafi-2016-6 The key takeaway here is that even after 13 hours the US gov't still didn't even manage to save those guys. They had effectively done absolutely nothing up to that point in time. They got lucky, and some remnants from the old regime - that the US Gov't had deposed - pulled their fat outta the fire, or the rest of the Americans there would have eventually been killed and dragged around the streets of Libya. Info: The US Gov't was told many times that their security wasn't adequate to deter Libyan militias from attacking, and that they weren't capable of withstanding an attack. Long story short, 1) people under Hillary's watch were left in a volatile & untenable situation, 2) Hillary herself was warned of it multiple times by the people who knew the most about the situation there, 3) she still chose to do nothing to prevent the carnage that ensued, 4) during the 13 hours that Americans were being killed she effectively did absolutely nothing to put a stop to it. 5) If not for some unsolicited help from the most unlikely of people, every American in Benghazi would have died. 6) Hillary lied emphatically about why the attack occurred in an attempt to make it seem like the US Gov't had no reason to expect that an attack was imminent or even likely, but she knew all along. Stop weaselling for Hillary. Hillary was proven to be a colossal, amoral idiot with no integrity. Trump never had a stinker that was even remotely close to this level of failure in his tenure as President, and there were a lot of situations that had the potential to go very wrong for the US. In Trump's "Benghazi" moment, a US embassy was attacked, the attackers were repelled, only 1 contractor was killed, and the top 2 generals in Iran (a nuclear-armed country with modern ships, fighter jets and rockets/missiles) paid with their lives. That is the only war in history where a country of Iran's power lost two rooks for a pawn and just STFU about it.

  25. the Russians continue to shoot up the suburbs outside Kyiv, in a two pronged attack in the northwest at Irpin and to the east at Brovary but still remaining well outside the city limits the Russians continue to bombard Chernihiv, Sumy, Kharkiv & Mariupol the Russians have occupied Kherson, but are facing large civilian protests, firing in the air failed to disperse them the Russians are fighting in Mykolayiv, but have not made any progress down the highway to Odessa the Russians are launching cruise missiles into west Ukraine, all the way to the Polish border but the Russians still have no ground forces at all in the west of the country at end of day 18; the Russians have still made no real progress from where they were on day 1 in the north; they have failed to take Kyiv & depose the government in the south; the Ukrainian port of Odessa remains open on the Black Sea

  26. Barbecued? Kind of an exaggeration wouldn't you say? Fossil fuel-driven economic growth over the past 30 years has pushed us to the brink of a global climate catastrophe. If the small amount of warming we have experienced were such a catastrophe, why has everything gotten so much better? Fossil fuel-driven prosperity has cut extreme poverty around the world by nearly two-thirds, allowed us to dramatically increase food production and cut hunger and malnutrition around the world, spread access to electricity to billions of people on every continent, cut child mortality in half, and added 7 years to average life expectancy. If you could have prevented the fossil fuel use at the cost of never having experienced all this progress, would you have done so? “The burning of fossil fuels is destabilizing the very foundations of life on the planet.” (An actual quotation from a recent Canadian newspaper opinion piece.) No, actually the burning of fossil fuels has radically improved the foundations of life on this planet. It has given us safe and inexpensive lighting, heating, cooling, refrigeration, transportation, electricity generation, construction, food production, and just about everything else we depend on for our standard of living. To the extent it has also caused a slight warming of the atmosphere due to CO2, that clearly has not turned the whole thing into a net loss. Weighing the costs and benefits together there is simply no question fossil fuel use has served to benefit humanity greatly.

  28. You're talking about another failed Dem strategy now. Am I supposed to say "Good job" or something? We should actually go by recent history and Trump's track record, the opinions of posters is usually just a waste of bandwidth, right? For one thing, it's worth noting that when Obama was Prez, America became incredibly divided to the point where massive riots went on for 3 years, and Putin took what he wanted. When Trump was Prez, Putin took nothing. He didn't have his armies threatening Ukraine. It was 'all quiet on the eastern front'. Terrorists also went silent. NoKo also simmered down. Iran bit the pillow when they briefly stepped up. Islamic state, which grew to be the size of a large country under Obama, was reduced to almost nothing within 6 months of Trump being Prez. All across the globe America's adversaries were laying low or getting gob-smacked. It took all the power of the MSM's disinformation to create 3 months of rioting under Trump. When the bodycam footage of Floyd's death hit the internet even the riots stopped. As soon as Biden became Prez, Russia started moving troops to surround Ukraine. Biden and Harris played stupid games about Ukraine joing NATO and now they're winning stupid prizes. Russia attacked Ukraine and they're destroying it. NoKo is testing new missiles all the time now. Iran just launched ballistic missiles at an American embassy. China and Russia entered a new alliance. China is openly talking about their plan to take over Taiwan. THE AMERICAN GOV'T IS OPENLY TALKING ABOUT ENGAGING RUSSIAN FIGHTER PLANES IN OPEN COMBAT (FYI that means WAR WITH RUSSIA), AND IT'S NOT JUST A SMALL MINORITY THAT IS 'PARTLY IN FAVOUR OF IT'. MANY CONGRESSMEN AND SENATORS ARE RABID ABOUT SETTING UP THE NO-FLY ZONE. We both know that the world wasn't in a warlike stance when Trump was Prez. Now the world is mostly at war or openly talking about it. This isn't partisan in nature, it's entirely factual.

  29. Mr. Poilievre is tainted with the remnents of the toxic Reform / Social Credit experiment, making him unacceptable. Prime Minister Harper carried that baggage as well, but he made a point of suppressing it. Whether a government is grit or tory doesn't matter because governments can only choose from a few narrow, pragmatic options. When a government drifts outside those few options in persuit of some ideological fantasy, they court disaster. Governments require pragmatism. They must reflect the electorate, not some haywire base like the NDP or the reformers.

  37. Hang on there...I went to school in Canada and can tell you we were taught ALL CANADIAN HISTORY as it happened. That includes the creation of the Acadians, the relationship the colonists had with the natives and the relations with black folk. You desperately try to create this alternative historical perspective and accuse white people of some nefarious warping of history. But in reality...while you scream and deflect...you also lie. It is the Libbies who are warping history in order to tear at the fabric of society and culture. They slip nonsense into their arguments like... "When you decide that you will teach about Christopher Columbus or the early settlers but not about the millions of indigenous and African people they enslaved and massacre" You are lying. We've always been taught these seedier parts of our history.

Ottawa has the requirement to protect all Canadians and they do so, with caution. it's like the problem in Ontario right now, the government does away with the mask mandate and yet, school boards, some businesses and some restaurants and hospitals will not... damned if they do and damned if they don't. This isn't a win for anti vaxxers, it's just lessening restrictions due to science. All adults LOL
