You failed English class didn't you? Absolute comparisons are not the same things as relative comparisons. If you are short then then you are LIKE Hitler. If you have a mustache then you are LIKE Hitler. If you say things like "Do we tolerate people" then you are LIKE Hitler. None of these mean that you ARE Hitler. @WestCanMan said it best. If you took the "Do we tolerate" statement and replaced the association of the unvaccinated with ANY other group, there would be a riot. For example. Blacks....do we tolerate? Chinese...do we tolerate? Gays...do we tolerate? Trudeau is not a dumb guy so saying that his English skills are poor is not a fair assessment. He chose those words to inflame and to incite hatred towards the unvaccinated. He wanted to rally the rest of the vaccinated against those who chose not to get the shot and low and behold it worked as suckers like you vehemently go after the unvaccinated and let Trudeau off free. With all that said, I love the fact that I have posted numerous clips of people drawing the same Hitler comparison, one of which is a known Liberal pundit and yet you have posted only your opinion. And somehow I am the idiot? At least you got the spelling right because the rest of your English comprehension needs a lot of work.3 points

Exactly. The passport is our version of China's social credit system, where the sheeple get more rights than citizens who aren't in lock-step with the government. Dr Patricia Daly, the Chief Medical Health Officer for Vancouver Coastal Health, admitted on a zoom call that the vaccination passport has NOTHING to do with stopping the spread of covid in public places. It is merely an incentive program to reward people who do as they're told and to restrict the freedoms of people who think for themselves. https://tv.gab.com/channel/redvoicemedia/view/busted-chief-medical-officer-admits-vaccine-617148ad302c3230188d9998 But hey, let's throw some truckers in jail if they protest against such an unconstitutional farce.3 points

It's too bad that "sides" get demonized. Extremists on both sides give an excuse for the other side to point fingers and use words like racists, misogynists, commies and fascists.3 points

Some ridiculous arguments I hear from leftists on here: 1. I have a right to deny you basic human rights because the majority agrees with me 2. Government mandates such as making it illegal for someone to treat an unvaccinated person with dignity by allowing them to sit at a table in a restaurant or firing someone over a jab aren't actually an infringement on bodily autonomy. 3. Governments intruding into your personal finances for giving to a protest that they disagree with aren't actually a violation of your privacy or human rights. 4. You can protest but only as long as the government allows you to. Failure to accept that makes you a radical and a treasonous individual. 5. God is okay with human rights violation because he supports all governments no matter their actions. 6. Coercing someone to do something against their will is totally fine and not a violation of human rights. 7. You are selfish for wanting autonomy over your body free from government coercion and manipulation. 8. A healthy person not staying home or wearing a mask is akin to killing a grandmother. Are we being gaslight by the left?2 points

no it's not it's based on being a government toadie you supporting them demonstrates what kind of person you are sad2 points

Whatever. Enjoy China’s latest territory on the Belt Initiative, Canuckistan. Just carry your digital passport and don’t oppose unconstitutional policies or your bank account will be frozen and your business license cancelled. Don’t protest either because you’ll get arrested and your kids will be taken to protect them from potential police violence. Awesome socks. Where do I sign?2 points

With Alberta and Quebec, having managed to solve the problem they've had with their own convoy protests without having to invoke any martial law - why does Justin Trudeau think it's needed in Ottawa? The lack of policing in Ottawa has something to do with their internal problems! Furthermore, isn't it hypocritical to demonize the convoy the way Trudeau did when he himself had supported the farmers' blockades in INDIA. Trudeau voiced support for farmers in India who blocked major highways to New Delhi for more than a year in 2021 https://www.investmentwatchblog.com/trudeau-voiced-support-for-farmers-in-india-who-blocked-major-highways-to-new-delhi-for-more-than-a-year-in-2021/ Trudeau brushes off India's criticism for standing with farmers in anti-Modi protests https://www.ctvnews.ca/politics/trudeau-brushes-off-india-s-criticism-for-standing-with-farmers-in-anti-modi-protests-1.5217584 So, you can just imagine the reaction to his emergencies act: https://twitter.com/knowlogy08/status/1493620908455444483/photo/1 Btw, didn't his dad declared martial law?2 points

what rights? there is no right to live in a city free of any large protests the right to peaceful assembly is a right and certainly more important than the convenience of Ottawa residents2 points

Absolute shame of the CPC is that "law and order" was once a pillar of Conservatives and the right. Now they're a mere mirror image of obstructionist US Republicans who'll glom on to any policy no matter how abhorrent, immoral and destructive it is, just because the "libs" are on the other side. The delay in law enforcement has been seen as encouragement by extremists on the pipeline now to vandalize millions in property, threaten and shoot flares and flaming torches at workers on the gas pipeline. They better not "get away with it"!!!!!!!!!!!!!!2 points

Does anyone else find that putting children between them and police to be extremely cowardly?2 points
-
No protesters are committing acts of violence. Clearly the police are preparing to use force and they’re already carrying protesters away, taking away children, and arresting people without providing any cause.2 points

He did the same with the WE Charities and the SNC Lavelin debacle. At this point, either you are a very corrupt person to keep voting Liberal or you don't pay attention2 points

This came out quite a while ago, there is a lawyer who posted about it being investigated. Conveniently, Trudeau cannot be investigated about this while we are under the Emergency Measures Act.2 points

It's more than a parking violation; people are stuck in their homes and businesses have had to close as a result of all the vehicles that are parked there. "Parking violation" is deliberate understating of the issue and is dishonest. I understand the trucker's (and everyone's) frustration with mandates, but that doesn't mean I approve of the way in which these people are protesting. In the same way, Trudeau condemned the attacks on Churches, even as he said he understood the reasons why people were so angry. Misstating what he said as "oh well" is dishonest.2 points

this is the part that makes it a war crime anybody who participated in it, Trudeau, the cabinet, the cops everybody involved in employing counter terrorism forces against peaceful assembly is a war criminal under international law and the laws of armed conflict the Liberal tyrants using tactics from Burma, Iran, Cuba, etc Canada is not a free country anymore2 points

Trudeau complaining about foreign donations is like Adolf Hitler complaining when the Americans freed Germany2 points

Yes...this transcends any specific citizenship (Canadian or American). Basic principles for liberty and freedom are at stake here, far beyond the Covid mandate merry-go-round. Lots of Americans are pulling for Canadian patriots.2 points

Very true...American conservatives are watching this northern neighbour fiasco with great interest, not unlike the way that Canadian liberals watch the USA. Very good fodder for U.S. mid-term election season too. As some Canadians are fond of saying about the U.S....Canada is now the burning car wreck that demands our attention.2 points

Very disingenuous. The Charter defines our rights. It is the government that is changing the Charter to suit themselves. The rest of your post is just.....silliness. Try to add some adult thoughts next time.2 points

They want to paint the convoy as a FAR-RIGHT WHITE SUPREMACIST group - and yet, I see on tv - many indigenous people, and even an obviously non-white person, being interviewed in his truck - saying he's willing to die for freedom. Lol - some First nation leaders complaining when protesters were using drums that it's unacceptable. Cultural appropriation, they said. Lol - I saw a group of indigenous people doing their dance and drumming! What, we're not free to use drums anymore?? Now we see why this explosion of protests! People are soooooooo fed up!2 points
-
all these people who showed up at this protest are having their fundamental Charter rights violated by police obeying unlawful orders so even if they just showed up for this one event they are all in a position now to sue the taxpayer for damages1 point

It all has happened before too. "Bread and circuses" and to heck with everything else. Circa two millennia, a hundred generations. Always worth repeating, just in case something changed.1 point

He was using inflammatory, sweeping rhetoric and it's perfectly fair to criticize him for that. His attempt to characterize all the protestors all as racists was stupid and unscrupulous and you can see it for what it was - an attempt to capitalize politically on the presence of a handful of idiots. That's what this is about. Twisting your panties over the word tolerate just makes you look silly. The Speaker of the House had to scold Trudeau in Parliament the other day for spouting off his hyperbole, and that's what people are listening to and noticing, not the contrived outrage over one dumb word you've blown up to absurdity.1 point

I have a feeling that this is the last stand of anything that resembles independent thought and democracy here, in this country. The Liberals and their quasi-independent stooges are bent on bringing in millions of immigrants. They are counting on an enlightened rule (by the fist, if need be and for as long as necessary) in perpetuity. Of course, they are a) clueless b) arrogant c) never listen to anything but themselves aka their supreme leader d) ignore and resent the reality e) incompetent and entitled while generally, having no clue. And of course, it's never a good mix in the long run. Not sustainable, ever. And so, this country is going down the slope. It's going to diminish and degrade. The process has began already. These are only the first early bells.1 point

Oh - so you are now qualifying your views on protesters ? You don't say ! You know - people could also qualify things - for example the impact of the protest itself. So I guess you like protesters now, even though you didn't admit it here. I mean, why would you do that ? That would be principled right ? Also... Frappuccinos are not my thing... it's what you like to drink at night on your way home from necking with random Daschunds at the local dump.1 point

Government can't vote on emergency act, because they can't access parliament buildings ... as if they haven't been having zoom meetings for the last two years. Ridiculous.1 point

Ridiculous arguments on the other side: 1. I get to define something as a right and demand the law be changed to suit me 2. Going to Arby's is now a human right 3. Funding illegal activities should be OK if I like the activity. 4. There should be no limit to the damage people can do if I agree with them. 5. I can put God in an argument and people should take it seriously 6. Laws don't apply to me 7. Me me me me me... also ME 8. I want to cough on your grandmother because I want to. 9. I am ridiculous.1 point

It's all a conspiracy. There is no popular support for this movement and now a new spokesman Tom Marazzo now says they're willing to form a coalition with the conservatives, NDP and bloc. You can't make this shit up... Again - I'm in support of resistance and protest but this is just a clusterf*ck mess. It's like the posters I have on 'ignore' all got together and wrote down their thoughts...1 point

He's probably smart enough to learn something from the mistakes previous populists have made. If he's really clever he'll be noticing how the trucker's convoy protest is being captured by a more extreme, international better organized right-wing sphere of influence. If he's hoping to hitch his wagon to the convoy he's up against people who also want to hijack it for their own benefit and a more virulent form of conservatism than Canadians will ever tolerate. It's probably already too late and the options for Trudeau are looking better the longer this goes on and the more influence outsiders have. Unless there's some huge Canadian shift rightward Poilievre will have no choice but to lean into the centre to distance himself from the more extreme viewpoint wedging itself into place.1 point

Culture destroyers will heartily agree with you. That's what this is all about of course. In the past, places had names and that is what they were always called. Places like Maple Leaf Gardens, etc. have a history and are identifiable cultural icons. Now we have names like the Air Canada Centre, later renamed to the Scotiabank Arena, and next year it will get renamed to another corporation again. In fact I don't know what these places are called anymore. If I want to go there, I cannot say where I am going. Even if I did, there's a good chance people wouldn't know what I was talking about. It's just that place, you know, the one that used to be called something else.1 point
