Ya, established news sources with actual addresses and real people presenting stories is so phony. Put your trust in the internet where no one is identifiable or accountable and then accuse others of being manipulated.6 points

To stand in solidarity with those who are being forced to get vaccinated against their will, it's time for the rest of Canadians to boycott the Booster, and all future vaccines until the government respects individual rights. We as protesters, must make it known, that we're boycotting vaccines until the government get rid of these mandates. If people promote a widesprad boycott of Vaccines, prehaps Pfizer and Moderna will convince governments to end these mandates, since they don't want to scare away future customers. If the Majority of Canadians refuse to take vaccines, until individual rights are protected, the power established will see their policies as contradictive. Speak up and tell your friends to start protests that supports boycotting vaccines. We need boycotts against vaccine mandates.5 points

Hospitalizations is not spread. You said vaccines reduce spread and now have flipped your story to hospitalizations. Your recent response shows that you are either completely ignorant to the differences or you are willfully lying which is a forum violation. Which is it?4 points

They have no clue. Vaccines can help many but mandates aren't protecting anybody. They are only covering cluelessness combined with arrogance and thirst for more and more power.4 points

1. So what? People have a choice. 2. This is patently false as both vaxxed and unvaxxed spread covid. You could manipulate stats to pass any policy. What if the next guy shows that a certain race of people is causing disproportionate crime? Start restricting mobility of that group of people?3 points

CTV: I was looking for the start date for the convoy and came across some vile filth from CTV: https://www.ctvnews.ca/canada/freedom-convoy-protest-how-did-we-get-here-1.5772901 The Freedom Convoy is the exact opposite to what they're making it out to be, but the sad fact is that one day people might be looking at this bullshit thinking that it's a part of the historical record. Will future generations study this time and call it "the fake news era", when overtly corrupt media outlets in Canada lavished false praise on an ethically challenged hate-monger, or will sheeple just sip their coffees and talk about "the vile legions of racism that slimed the capitol while majestic Justin stood firm in the basement of his secret lair"? History won't remember this two ways, eventually something's going to be forgotten and there's a good chance that it will be the truth. It's not even unlikely that the story is eventually change to: "Justin stood bravely in front of the long line of trucks and put his hand up like Superman, stopping them all." Seems implausible now, but there are people denying the holocaust ffs. It's not unusual for truth to make way for fantasy, and fantasy is already off to a roaring start on CTV. Goebbels' News: https://globalnews.ca/news/8533779/truckers-convoy-canada-vaccine-mandate/ Funny thing is, I did a Google search and couldn't find Goebbels News commenting on Trudeau's hate-laced anti-freedom screed from Jan 4th. It's like it never happened. I tried to watch their news from Jan 5th but if they talked about it, it didn't make their headlines. Weird how the leader of a first world nation can hatemonger millions of his own people and it doesn't make the domestic news. CBC: They're as useless as tits on a boar. They're congenital liars and they've lived off the public tit for long enough now. We've thrown billions into them and it's sink or swim time as far as I'm concerned. I don't care if we end up watching Al Jazeera and NoKo news. I don't want to give the CBC another cent. Here's some CBC shit for ya: https://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/london/trucker-protest-freedom-convoy-1.6339862 She's holding up a picture of him, his neck looks like a hot water bottle ffs. "No major health issues" lol. And 70 yrs old. Margaret Makins is dumb AF, and yet somehow she's CBC's posterchild for covid info....... Guess what CBC? Over 1,000 fully vaxxed people died of covid in the last 6 weeks. Did you cover that at all? Do you have any stories about vax-nazis who said: "The unvaxxed should be left to die if they get covid"? Of course not, but for sure they're out there.2 points

Give it up. No one with a sense of reasonable respect for others wants to live under continued mandates and restrictions in the current context. They have to go. Trudeau is foolish to hold back reopening to make a point that he is in command of our lives. No PM can override our rights without damn good reasons. So the question is, how long do you think Trudeau can get away with flogging his reasons? One only has to look across the border to see freedom returning. Oppression is a hard sell now.2 points

-
Michael the conspiracy is in broad day light. What is it going to take you to wake up? Trudeau is acting like vaccinating 16000 trucks is going to end the pandemic. If 85% of the Canadian population are vaccinated, getting an extra 16000 vaccinated only pushes that number up to 85.05%. Since the vaccine barely works against Omicron, what difference does it makes? The Omicron wave is on decline, yet Trudeau wants to push Canada to the brink of Civil war over 0.05% of the Canadian population. If that doesn't seem like a conspiracy to you, I don't know what does.2 points
-
Not peer reviewed. It’s a pre-print. I’d love to educate you on the difference but it would be a waste of time. In BC this week…76% of the cases are from the fully vaxxed who are 80% of the population. Other provinces show similar if not closer numbers yet you are insisting that draconian mandates are needed when there is no benefit. Again…stop lying2 points

I see people willing to give everything for something they obviously strongly believe in. They're literally putting their asses on the line here. While everyone else sits back and moans about government overreach, or condones it. The impasse will continue until something happens. But even if they do get cleared out, it's a statement and perhaps a welcome beginning or rebirth of political consciousness in otherwise sleepy Canada. Go Truckers, Bring on the hot-dog barbeques, While political motherf*ckers call for the riot police right on cue.2 points

Don't take it badly Goddess. MH is a Conservative...remember? @Libbies: You folks have a truck bearing down on you and you don't even realize it. Instead, you mock patriots who will protect your own rights as free Canucks. None of you have a real rebuttal. Government and media have tried to paint the protests as just a movement of anti-vaxers pushing back against vaccine mandates, but it’s much bigger and deeper than that. The protests are really about pandemic privilege and the differences between the ways “protective” policies impact different classes differently. The political class and the corporate executive class that devised the directives were the classes most insulated from their impacts. They could work from spacious homes, get away to cottages and other family retreats, and import into their households many of the amenities that the public had to sacrifice: gyms, pools, and during the strictest lockdowns, even natural spaces. It’s interesting that many of the pro-mandate/restriction posters on here and other sites tend to fall into or closer to this privileged group. The truckers have been the essential workers who couldn’t remove themselves from the risks of public work, nor did they demand that insulation. The powers that be quickly forgot the truckers’ sacrifices when the opportunity to further insulate themselves from risk arose by making sure that everyone got vaccinated (even after we saw that vaccines reduce rather than eliminate risk). A small percentage of truckers asked that their healthcare discretion be respected if they chose not to be vaccinated, but that discretion wasn’t respected by government. Of course many people from all walks of life wanted the same discretion, but once again it was the truckers who put themselves at risk by taking on everyone’s cause, this time the right to medical discretion, not just being able to have goods delivered. The reason the government is having a hard time getting the police onside is because the police are essential workers too. They can relate to the cause of the truckers, farmers, and other essential workers. They’re from the same economic class and bear similar burdens. Taking away rights is no small matter. We the vaccinated lost freedoms in the name of fighting a “health crisis”, but the unvaccinated lost more, including the respect of government and the same media who lionized many of these same people when we were most at risk and needed food on our table. Of course we want the blockades to end, but for the sake of our very rights as citizens, our government owes the protesters serious consideration and attention. I know in my heart that vaccine passports are unethical. They have pushed some people to the brink of what a person can handle, including unemployment. Governments still can’t explain how many requirements should be added to the passports and how much the passports have encouraged vaccination. More worrisome, it isn’t clear that vaccines are enormously effective with our current variants, though I’ll grant that they probably have helped prevent deaths and hospitalizations. It’s certainly not clear that making people get vaccinated subject to the loss of citizens’ and basic human rights is justified. Given where we are with the milder variant Omicron, falling hospitalizations, and two years of pandemic mandates and restrictions, there is simply no persuasive argument to maintain vaccine mandates. Mr. Trudeau, it’s time to back off of your untenable position, respect the Charter of Rights and Freedoms, and let the truckers who served us so heroically throughout the pandemic return to their jobs without mandates. Many of the unvaccinated are from vulnerable socioeconomic groups, are people of colour, or have mental health challenges. Many have legitimate concerns about the safety of vaccines that haven’t been around long. Call them paranoid or conspiracy theorists, but there are plenty of historic events that illustrate the dangers of government overreach, such as the sterilization of developmentally delayed people. Removing the blockades through force will not end the protests and could lead to bigger problems We need a political solution. Given the trend of western governments lifting mandates and restrictions, there’s really only one responsible solution: End vaccine mandates.2 points

Go watch some more Goebbels' ? Do you honestly think that I was waiting for an intelligible counterpoint from a leftist? ? I wasn't dumb enough to believe in H2H. I'm not stupid enough to believe that kids and octogenarians are equally affected by covid. I'm not stupid enough to believe that "even though fully-vaxed people are getting sick enough to die from covid, they don't spread it". You know better than to float your idiotic opinions in one of my threads. Scram.2 points

Re: #1 it is kind of crazy we are pushing for mandatory vaccination for COVID. Far worse viruses have never had mandatory vaccination in Canada. A list would include: smallpox, polio, MMR, diptheria, tetanus, Hep B, meningitus, varicella, HPV. Unless I was over 75 I don't think there's a single one of these I'd choose to get over COVID. Even then it'd be a toss up.2 points

In the last few years, we have witnessed a delamination of civil order. From the election of President Trump to the growth of populist politicians in Eastern Europe, from the January 6th events in Washington DC to the current truck convoy in Canada, vaccine resistance and climate skeptics. These are all symptoms of a deeper problem. A segment of the world's population are angry and they feel no one is listening. My question is what is the real source ot this anger. I don't know, but if we are to reverse the trend of unfocused anger and mistrust, we need to find out what it is. Any suggestions?1 point

No but I always thought it was disgusting when teacher unions on the picket brought their children. I just don't think children should become political pawns. It depends of course what age they are. But elementary children - I am just not up with that.1 point

Good god, you are such a victim. Trudeau can't cave to a mob that is demanding a change in government and anyone with more than 2 brain cells knows that. You guys hate him and the idea that these people would leave if only he would talk to them is laughable. They wouldn't leave and that would make him look weaker. What right of yours has he been overriding? I mean ones you didn't just make up. We have a process for defending rights and it isn't decided by who can assemble the biggest mob and dictate to elected governments. You better decide what kind of country you want to live in because the way you are going will guarantee the death of democracy. You will end up with an autocrat who got power by catering to the mob, because that's how real autocrats get power.1 point

The vaccines are likely causing the variants. Amazing how only vaccinated people were allowed to travel yet we keep having new foreign variants show up.. Logic blackbird, logic1 point

I don't actually think it prevents more spread with Omicron. Maybe if you're boosted, but how long is that going to last? The main goal of vaccination is to reduce severe illness. And it's done that. The spike in Hospitalization was due to the volume of people being infected. We already know almost half of the people Hospitalized weren't even there for COVID, they just tested positive.1 point

I'm fully vaccinated and think it's dumb that I still have to wear a mask and flash my personal health information to eat in a restaurant. Lots of people feel the same way. I'm also not perpetually afraid that the guy in the booth next to me may have made a different decision regarding the vaccine. If it works the way they say it does I should have nothing to worry about. The fact we are in masks still shows the ineffectiveness of the vaccine and certainly undercuts the narrative that a pass is warrented1 point

Usual...what...Dear? Facts? Do you not like facts? Is that why you follow this faux conservative around? Faux facts do it for ya? Now...I do listen to and watch CBC, CTV and Global daily. I DID see a CTV reporter being fair and balanced at the beginning of the protest. But alas...he's no longer reporting in Ottawa about this anymore. You might call that simple "re-assignment". But common sense says otherwise...don' it. Please understand...I don't think you're a bad person or even malicious. I just think you're in that majority bucket that follows along wherever the shiny thing is. So...in hopes of jarring your personal fortitude a bit... I met a guy sitting at the bar of a local pub several years ago. We began chatting and even shot a game of darts. During our conversation, it became clear this man was fairly wealthy from playing the stock markets. So I asked him, 'How do you know what to buy and what not to buy?' His reply was genus. 'I watch what the masses are doing, and I don't do that.' Think for yourself Mah. And always remember... If it swims like a fish and stinks like a fish...don't let the MSM or common dolts convince you its a horse.1 point

The reality of this situation must burn their tender li'l all-white backsides. Put simply, they have no clue. They don't know how to manage the disease, and so decided to manage the population instead (easier and more rewarding too). Every single round of restrictions resulted in new all time highs; lockdowns, masks and lockdowns, vaccines plus masks plus lockdowns always sky is falling and new all time highs. This is not an effective management, not doing the job. This is something else. And these are the facts. Sweden never had a lockdown, nor any mandatory policies. And it learned valuable lessons. It knows how to live and coexist with the disease. The only thing the exspert + government bunch learned here is how to shout "aj, let's have another lockdown!!" at the top of their lungs every time cases twitch wrong way. And sure, they'll keep twitching, leaving little hope for this country to return to any resemblance of the normal anytime soon.1 point

Commie Bonnie Henry and her socialist backers in the BC NDP will death-grip onto the power as long as they can. As all the other Provinces get overwhelmed by reason and drop their mandates though even Commie Bonnie will capitulate. That's my prediction. Considering provinces and other jurisdictions are dropping these mandates primarily because fully vaxxed are spreading Covid then there's no legal reason these things should still exist. Anyone who supports these policies still are only doing so to punish people for their political position.1 point

The Right in America ironically demonized Carter but that was based not just on political bias but he was in office for several years. Biden has been in office less than a year and the same sturm and drang are rising up about how Biden has "failed". It's nothing more than plain old political silliness. Biden's term has been rough, we are in a once-in-a-century pandemic that was grossly mishandled by Trump and we have a large enough percentage of Americans who would rather risk death than take a vaccine or even wear masks to help stop the spread of it that the pandemic will continue on. The economy here is doing better than any rational being could expect (and sometimes it is doing well enough in some sectors as to make it seem irrational itself). Biden isn't perfect and his tenure so far has not been absolute perfection, but it isn't as bad as "advertised" on some US media. This blather about Biden as a failure is nothing more than sore-loser Trumpists kvetching from the sidelines hoping that more disinformation will swing a few more low-information voters in the mid-terms and possibly in 2024.1 point
