  1. I just got back from the convoy, and what was most incredible was seeing people live freely. A steel drummer was playing Caribanna sounds. Feminists, interestingly enough, talking about free choice; Christian farmers, Siks, Iranians, Israelis, Saudis, Russians, Latinas. All religions represented. Everyone talking about importance of freedom, free speech, the human spirit and liberty. Very warm environment. Most social I felt in public in two years. Like a great awakening of humanity. People talking about Christ, Buddha, Mohammed, the Charter protections. Black, White, everyone just enjoying life.

  2. It says a lot about those who continue to support Trudeau even with his dismal record as Prime Minister. Too many Canadians think of politics as a team sport and they'll support their "team" no matter how awful they are. The bar is set really low for Trudeau.

  3. May be a referendum on the issue would solve all the problems. Maybe Trudeau should be looking at this option to end the deadlock. Protesters going back home, a referendum to be held within a month and the nation decides. It is democratic and it will quickly resolve this serious issue smoothly and without violence and for good, As well it will free the people of Downtown Ottawa. What do you think?

  4. 'The world' ? People are using the pandemic as an excuse to make noise about Trudeau. There's no expectation that a conservative government would be much different, nor an NDP one since we have conservative and NDP governments and they have been pretty similar in their actions.

  5. Why do you think the citizens of Ottawa should be treated like this? What did they do to deserve this?

  6. This just in: the Freedom Convoy organizers have in their hands the zoom video that exposes the Ottawa mayor and his staff as directly involved in getting Go Fund Me to shut down the Convoy fund. Pat King showed it on his face book page. Things are heating up. Ottawa has now made it illegal to refuel the trucks that are in Ottawa streets. Elon Musk has come out condemning Go Fund Me for shutting down the convoy page when they kept open the BLM page when they were raising money for the Seattle city block take over.

  7. It also tells us the the root cause of this problem is not political, right or left. It's in the different plane, liberty - control, up to and including authoritarian control. If government overreach is not limited by effective and constant, unconditional checks and oversight by the society, a government of any political or ideological flavor will be sliding into authoritarianism just because it's easier, because it can.

  8. This is the biggest irony of all. It’s the anti-Liberals who are the ones having to safeguard all the rights and freedoms that Liberal Pierre Elliott Trudeau worked to enshrine. What does it tell you when feminists with signs saying, “My body, my choice,” are walking arm in arm with Pro Life Christian farmers protesting the government mandates and restrictions? It tells me that government is violating our rights and freedoms as Canadians.

  14. And every time you post that BS claim I'm going to remind you it's from some shaved head guy with a ring in his ear who claims he was once a "communications consultant" (whatever that is) making some allegations using a blurry video that doesn't actually show anything. Keep digging.

  15. We're not on the verge of hyperinflation, or even anything close to hyperinflation. That term is a bogeyman word that 4dchan conspiracy clowns bandy around without understanding what it means or how it comes to be. Explaining monetary policy to those folks is a lost cause though. As far as they're concerned, the money-printing machines are just going brrrrrrrrrr! and that means that the $ is going to lose 50% of its value per year or...something.

  16. Oh wow. Jesus ministered to the prostitutes, thieves, tax collectors(robbed the people) and beggars. He took a whip and drove law abiding sellers(they were there legally) out of the temple. He called the religious leaders(respected law abiders) a brood of vipers. Keep reading the Bible…

  17. Chances are most of the reasons for having this referendum will be over before it ever gets organized. The noisy confused minority that imagine's it might make a difference simply needs to chill out, get a grip and try to be a little less impatient. Look around you, normal may only be creeping back in on little cat's feet but it is happening.

  18. I don't think there is growing support at home. Downtown residents are more fed up every day demanding police action and as the nation watch their Capital City under occupation over time, even those minority who may support the illegal blocking of streets will turn against them. They have to leave sooner or later.

  22. Not really. Sometimes parties are on the right side of history on issues and sometimes they are not. Trudeau has overplayed his hand. He thinks that having won a minority government in September entitles him to ignore a massive opposition to his government’s current pandemic policies. Policies can change. If Trudeau won’t change them or justify his actions in an open debate with the opposition and protest movement, then he is behaving like an arbitrary dictator.

  23. I didn’t mean you specifically with my 2nd comment. Apologies. I should’ve been more clear. Referenda on public health policy is a,poor idea. Why not ask if better masks should be mandated? Why do a handful of truckers illegally protesting get to dictate policy direction?

  25. I agree. But isn’t the criticism by Conservative supporters of Trudeau that he was “just a drama teacher”? The drama teacher seems to have way more work experience than Pierre Poilievre, no?

  26. The thing with politicians is they don't like getting their hands dirty so they get others to do their dirty work. What will probably happen now that there's backlash against governments is they'll pressure organizations like the Chamber of Commerce to self police masks etc. Government can say its not their rules while still applying pressure in behind the scenes. It's what Moe did in Sask until enough people ie the Saskatchewan Roughriders refused to do the Government's dirty work for them

  27. No you’re following the government-mandated script perfectly. If the people don’t demand a return of their Charter protections, they will remain suspended indefinitely. Trudeau is seeing what he can get away with. The world is watching for sure and international bodies are seeing if the top-down schemes for controlling human behaviour worldwide can be implemented. Canada’s sovereignty and constitution are at stake, nothing less.

  31. 1. Ah... a real WORKING MAN. As Canadian as a pelt trader I say !!!! A real MAN OF THE PEOPLE. 2. Of course! And never consider TEACHING to be work. Trudeau taught math, drama and French for Christ's sake! That's worse than licking subway grates for a living, of course. Every Canadian looks down at their kid's teacher as being a horrific idiot and clown who is openly scorned.

  33. Bylaw infractions.. give them a parking ticket if warranted. You are more worried about a parking infraction then your Prime Minister uttering divisive rhetoric and mandates that promote discrimination. Nice to know where your priorities are. Christians get a bad name because often times they are feckless in the midst of some pretty disturbing times. Some Christians have rightfully spoke out though many remain silent. Nano's poll on CBC reported over 50 % support ending mandates, and really pro vacine or not, if someone ask you today why don't we just end all this right now , no mandates , back to normal living i think that number will just climb...These convoys are now starting up in other major city centers, it is hard to say...

  37. You do know the recent polls suggest the majority are for getting rid of the mandates, open up the country and get on with life. Who would not want to get rid of mandates, everyone is sick of them. The question remains what to do about vaccinations, could that be the carrot to get more people vaccinated. what is next, and are we still looking for better vaccinations or cure ?

  38. There's a lot to that Burisma story. Biden bragging on TV that he threatened to pull $1B in loan guarantees from Ukraine if they didn't fire their top prosecutor. Biden stating on TV on more than 1 occasion: "I didn't know that Hunter was working at Burisma. I had no knowledge of it." He even got mad at reporters while he was saying it, as if it was an affront to democracy itself to question honest Joe Biden. Hunter said the same thing. Somehow the world was supposed to believe that Hunter got a $30K/mo job and didn't even mention it to his dad. Then a picture came out of Joe, Hunter and Devon Archer golfing together from back when Hunter worked at Burisma, and Joe and Hunter both had to admit that they had blatantly lied, and Joe actually did know about Hunter's lucrative job. Long story short, Hunter didn't speak the language, he never worked in the oil and gas industry, and while his dad was leading the US's efforts to clean up corruption in Ukraine, and Burisma's CEO was being investigated for corruption, that CEO hired Hunter and gave him barrels full of loot, and then Joe Biden unleashed the mother of all quid pro quos on Ukraine to get them to fire Ukraine's top prosecutor "and put a guy in his place that was solid". Coincidentally, a guy who never lifted a finger to investigate Burisma. Leftsists in unison: "I don't see nothin'." China was the same. Joe and Hunter flew to China together on Air Force 2 when Joe was VPOTUS. Joe "thought that Hunter was just doing some tourist stuff." Hunter was wheeling and dealing into the billions of dollars. https://nypost.com/2021/11/28/chinese-titan-lavished-hunter-biden-with-3-carat-gem-offer-of-30-million/ Leftsists in unison: "I don't see nothin'."

  41. Yeah would really have to ask them I suppose. Be prepared for an incredibly thoughtful and balanced response of course. I've been asking a lot of questions of people with regards to the convoy, for example. The response I usually get is that it's their right to do or say whatever they want. Not really an explanation of why they're doing it though. "Why are you farting this elevator sir?" "It's my right to do so."

  42. indeed but web polls let anyone vote on them so they biased in favor of causes that are far more popular on the internet than in real life and the website who does the poll has an audience bias too for example Ron Paul used to win all the online polls after every debate still never came anywhere close to winning the Republican nomination beware of web polls no matter the sample size

Now they want to control who you donate to (injecting at will isn't enough - and who said that there will be a line, somewhere that would be enough, for sure and for all time?). Best of all to them and their buddies - cronies. They will know how to take best care of it. Just watch them.

And while the charges filed against this Republican - one of the highest ranking Republicans in the state - are not for being a crook or a pervert , he’s obviously unstable and unfit for office House Republican Leadership in Flux After Harassment Charges Filed Against Leader By Hannah Gaskill December 21, 2021 The Maryland House Republican Caucus is in flux ahead of a leadership election, mere days after harassment charges were levied against House Minority Leader Jason C. Buckel (R-Allegany) in relation to his pending divorce.… Last week, a Maryland State Police trooper filed an application for a statement of charges in Allegany County District Court against Buckel for harassment. The complaint details more than three dozen messages the man said Buckel sent him through Facebook Messenger, most of which he characterized as threatening in nature. The court records indicate the trooper had a relationship with Buckel’s estranged wife, which prompted an angry response including threats of physical harm from the lawmaker On one occasion, the trooper alleges that Buckel sent more than a half-dozen messages in the 3 a.m. hour on Sept. 26, threatening to take his job and pension and to “destroy” and “bury” him. Other messages included threats of harm from Buckel’s supporters…. https://www.marylandmatters.org/2021/12/21/house-republican-leadership-in-flux-after-harassment-charges-filed-against-leader/
