The Emergencies Act can only be invoked, according to its own terms, when a situation “seriously endangers the lives, health or safety of Canadians and is of such proportions or nature as to exceed the capacity or authority of a province to deal with it,” or “seriously threatens the ability of the Government of Canada to preserve the sovereignty, security and territorial integrity of Canada” and when the situation “cannot be effectively dealt with under any other law of Canada.”

The Emergencies Act is there to address these kinds of extreme threats to Canada, not to protect the economy.

Governments regularly deal with difficult situations, and do so using powers granted to them by democratically elected representatives. Emergency legislation should not be normalized. It threatens our democracy and our civil liberties.

Michael was stating that one can't say Trudeau hates the unvaccinated simply because no one has ever heard him say those words. I countered by saying actions and other speech can clearly show hatred and used Hitler as the example knowing he is the extreme example.

It's not a straight up yes or no question, you are just conflating my comments with his.

In short, this is a case where I was 100% correct and the turd was just being a hatemonger and a bigot.

That's because he said that people who are against vaxing are "very often racists and misogynists", and there are a lot of people who didn't vax: it's in the millions if you do the math.  

In fact, I just did a quick google search which said that 30.7M Canadians are vaxed, and there are 38.01M Canadians. That means that 7M people here aren't vaxed. Not all of them are old enough to make that decision for themselves, so I won't say that they're all anti-pseudo-vax, but it's still in the millions. 

He said that they are "very often racists...", so the number of people that we are talking about is a large portion of millions of people. 

2) Seeing as the group of people that he's referring too isn't actually small, Trudeau was lying again. Don't act surprised.
