Michael Hardner Posted April 21, 2015 Report Posted April 21, 2015 I'll check into it. If that is the case, then I suggest everyone have a private profile. What ? The question was answered above, twice. Quote Click to learn why Climate Change is caused by HUMANS Michael Hardner
GostHacked Posted April 21, 2015 Report Posted April 21, 2015 What ? The question was answered above, twice. I thought I'd try what other posters do. Not read anything. Quote

Michael Hardner Posted April 21, 2015 Report Posted April 21, 2015 But I am now logged in 'anon', not sure what the advantage of it is. I don't know either. I think you should ask WCR. In any case, we've answered this simple query. Quote Click to learn why Climate Change is caused by HUMANS Michael Hardner
bush_cheney2004 Posted April 21, 2015 Report Posted April 21, 2015 What ? The question was answered above, twice. Yes, but the power of suggestion and resulting behavior/discussion has been fascinating. Private advantage....indeed ! Quote Economics trumps Virtue.
cybercoma Posted April 21, 2015 Report Posted April 21, 2015 Why can't I see them logged in? Are they special? Most forum software has the feature to remain invisible. It might be in your User Control Panel or whatever. I haven't looked into it here. Anyone can do it. Quote
cybercoma Posted April 21, 2015 Report Posted April 21, 2015 Log out, then when you go to log back in, there's a box you can check to sign in anonymously..........be forewarned though, once you attempt this, you're transformed into a Conservative WASP middle aged male...... There we go. Quote
Bob Macadoo Posted April 21, 2015 Report Posted April 21, 2015 (edited) Yes, posting anonymously is available to any poster I believe. Log out and try it.There are no technical advantages to long time posters here, just moderators and demi mods. Ego.....ready to explode? Edited April 21, 2015 by Bob Macadoo Quote

Big Guy Posted April 22, 2015 Report Posted April 22, 2015 Why is that even given as an option on an anonymous opinion board? Quote Note - For those expecting a response from Big Guy: I generally do not read or respond to posts longer then 300 words nor to parsed comments.
jbg Posted April 22, 2015 Report Posted April 22, 2015 Why is that even given as an option on an anonymous opinion board? Employers or spouses maybe? I don't know. Quote Free speech: "You can say what you want, but I don't have to lend you my megaphone." Always remember that when you are in the right you can afford to keep your temper, and when you are in the wrong you cannot afford to lose it. - J.J. Reynolds. Will the steps anyone is proposing to fight "climate change" reduce a single temperature, by a single degree, at a single location? The mantra of "world opinion" or the views of the "international community" betrays flabby and weak reasoning (link).
GostHacked Posted April 22, 2015 Report Posted April 22, 2015 -- because they do not want anybody to see them logged in. No more and no less. What really does it matter? When they post, we know they are online. Quote

WWWTT Posted April 22, 2015 Report Posted April 22, 2015 (edited) Deleted! Edited April 30, 2015 by WWWTT Quote Maple Leaf Web is now worth $720.00! Down over $1,500 in less than one year! Total fail of the moderation on this site! That reminds me, never ask Greg to be a business partner! NEVER!
-1=e^ipi Posted April 25, 2015 Report Posted April 25, 2015 The sex and gender issues forum should be renamed sex, gender issues and social justice, because it is difficult to discuss sex and gender issues without discussing social justice. That is what 3rd wave 'feminism' is all about (intersectionality). Quote
Shady Posted April 30, 2015 Report Posted April 30, 2015 For improvements for the forum, what about some games? Like old-school Pacman or something. Maybe Tetris too. Quote
littleguy1 Posted May 14, 2015 Report Posted May 14, 2015 I am new and I have responded to quite a few topics over the past weeks. I can't find my posts and don't know why. If their is a process that removes posts I think the person should be told why it has happened. I am not sure if this is a forum closed to certain people but maybe an email of introduction and explaining the censorship and moderator process would help. Quote

Charles Anthony Posted May 15, 2015 Report Posted May 15, 2015 I am new and I have responded to quite a few topics over the past weeks. I can't find my posts and don't know why. Open up your own profile. On the left side of the screen, there should be a vertical menu that appears thusly: LittleGuy1's Photo Overview Profile Feed Friends Topics Posts Click on the last one and it will display your posts. In the top right corner of that following page, there should be a vertical menu with the following "Add as Friend" and "Send me a message" and "Find Content" buttons. Depress that the last "Find Content" button and you should get a new screen which gives you more sorting and display options. If their is a process that removes posts I think the person should be told why it has happened. I am not sure if this is a forum closed to certain people but maybe an email of introduction and explaining the censorship and moderator process would help. If we take down a post, we usually send a message explaining why. Lately, we have not been doing that if the post is indesputably and 100% trolling. In simple terms, if there is no hint of addressing the topic of discussion and we have to explain why stupid is stupid, we do not bother sending a message. WestCoastRunner Posted May 21, 2015 Report Posted May 21, 2015 I am signed in on my smart phone and it's not very mobile friendly at all. Can we work on getting this working more favourably for us mobile workers? It's very frustrating for me to post and I'm sure it is for other mobile users. I post stuff and then I lose it. I would rather walk away then try and have to post it again. Can we fix that? Quote I love to see a young girl go out and grab the world by the lapels. Life's a bitch. Michael Hardner Posted May 21, 2015 Report Posted May 21, 2015 Can we fix that? Hi WCR, I don't have an answer but I feel the need to point out: the software for this forum is open-source, and not maintained by anybody here. It's "out there" on the web somewhere, and there are people smarter than us who design it. I don't really like the phone experience that much, but you shouldn't be losing posts. You can only do the basic stuff on mobile. Quote Click to learn why Climate Change is caused by HUMANS Michael Hardner
cybercoma Posted May 21, 2015 Report Posted May 21, 2015 That's strange, WCR. I find this forum one of the better ones for mobile users. There's other more popular forum software that's not even remotely as good. Quote
Boges Posted May 21, 2015 Report Posted May 21, 2015 The only problems I have with the mobile option is the lack of emojis and the inability to monitor status updates, I have to switch to classic mode to utilize those features. Quote
