First, let me start by giving my opinion, that I do not like superficial slogans which involve no thinking, but this debate is more than a slogan. From the Libertarians, reason.com: Last year, a Michigan middle school forced two students to remove their "Let's Go Brandon" sweatshirts because they violated a dress code rule prohibiting clothing with "profane" slogans. The students have now filed a lawsuit against their school with the support of the Foundation for Individual Rights and Expression (FIRE), a First Amendment nonprofit. Poll: Should schools be ALLOWED TO FORCE students to remove clothing with potentially controversial slogans? Options: 1. Yes 2. No 3. It depends on the situation 4. Other

A few months back, I came across a report from the German Intelligence that shed light on the pervasive reach of China's Communist Party in the West. The report highlighted the politicians' naivety and lack of understanding of the CCP's tentacles. The Germans aptly compared Russia to a storm and China to climate change, emphasising the long-term and far-reaching impact of China's actions: https://www.dw.com/en/china-spying-on-germany-say-intelligence-chiefs/a-63467038 Obviously, there are so many threads on this forum as well about the CCP's Foreign Interference scandal here in Canada. This second article below speaks to the overall point and traces the history of the intelligence war: via Foreign Policy One week ago, TikTok CEO Shou Zi Chew was questioned by members of the U.S. Congress, before the world’s media, about whether the Chinese government uses the wildly popular video-sharing app to spy on Americans. His testimony came several weeks after the appearance of a Chinese spy balloon floating across the United States. What are we to make of these two stories, which are at their core both about Chinese espionage? To borrow a phrase from Mission: Impossible: Relax, it’s much worse than you think. We are now witnessing some of the effects of a decision made years ago by China to use every means and medium of intelligence-gathering at its disposal against the West. Its strategy can be summarized in three words: collect, collect, collect. Most Westerners do not yet appreciate just how sweeping China’s intelligence onslaught directed at their countries is; for decades, their own governments likewise didn’t understand because their attention was largely directed elsewhere. Poll: Will Trump benefit politically from an arrest? Elon Musk also predicted if a real image surfaces with his arrest, he will most likely be President. Do you agree with this? Ok, so the previous federal prosecutor and the one before him did not want the case of him paying an adult star (yes I know the money used is the issue, but most people see only the surface). Yes No Other, add a comment. My opinion is that yes, he will benefit from this, any bad publicity is good publicity for MAGA. 87.3M of Cultists and rising. By the way these are FAKE AI pictures generated, can you imagine if he will decide to get into a brawl with the cops for rating?

I'd like to have a sincere discussion about what type of improvements we can make to the MLW forums. I want to attract more members, and I think the best way to do that is to appeal to the existing membership for ideas and opinions on what we could do to make this forum the best in class. I'm not just interested in new forum features, but modifications to existing forum features. This is an open thread, so lets hear from everyone, but PLEASE keep it on topic. The sky is the limit, I'm interested in all suggestions.

The Asia-Pacific region is the largest region of the planet, comprising more than 40 countries. Today, the APR is the most dynamically developing region. In this regard, the strategic national priorities and interests of the United States are increasingly shifting toward the Asia-Pacific region. The state of international security largely depends on the situation in this region. In the Asia-Pacific region, there is a disproportionate increase in military capabilities, which reduces security in this part of the world. As part of the rebalancing of forces in the APR, the United States intends to strengthen its military presence in the region. On the territory of Japan and the Republic of Korea, the Pentagon has created a network of military bases consisting of 240 objects for various purposes. The sustained US policy of deploying the Asia-Pacific segment of the global missile defense causes the greatest concern in the world. It should be recalled that in 2017, a full-fledged “standard battery” of the United States Missile Defense Thaad (THAAD) appeared in South Korea, consisting of a radar, command and control system, six launchers with eight antimissiles each. About 200 US soldiers and officers, for which the corresponding infrastructure was built, ensure the operation of the systems. A similar US missile defense system is planned to be deployed in Japan by 2023. However, it is worth noting that all these actions of the Pentagon in the Asia-Pacific Region are accompanied by protests from residents of both South Korea and Japan. Protesters fear that electromagnetic radiation from radar will harm their health: for example it can lead to infertility or to the occurrence of cancer. Moreover, these fears are not in vain, scientists physicians and environmentalists point out the effects of electromagnetic radiation on human health, because it can cause various diseases, including cancer. Constantly staying close to the station is quite enough to provoke a surge in the incidence of cancer of all forms, an increase in the number of untimely deaths, the birth of disabled people and infertility. Furthermore, environmentalists are concerned that such a powerful radar can have a serious impact on the environment. Thus, on the territory of South Korea, agricultural lands will undoubtedly suffer, it is worth noting that after the deployment of the American system, the harvest of melons, which this agricultural region is famous for, suffered. In Japan, they fear for the marine flora and fauna, which the US military facilities are already damaging. Moreover, in Japan, they know firsthand what diseases are caused by nuclear radiation. Therefore, Washington’s plans face criticism from local residents and authorities in Japan and South Korea. However, despite numerous protests from local residents, Seoul and Tokyo agreed to deploy the American anti-missile system on their territory. Thus, at the beginning of September 2017, a full-fledged US missile defense system Thaad (THAAD) appeared at a military base in South Korea in Sonju county. A similar system is going to appear in Japan in the northern prefecture of Akita and southwestern Yamaguchi. Thus, following its goals, hiding behind the protection of the interests of some APR countries, the United States negatively affects the region’s ecology, which leads to the emergence of various serious diseases among local residents.

Joe Biden was inaugurated President, but I didn't watch the inauguration. I'm not a Joe Biden supporter. He didn't win because of me. I voted against him in both the primary and the election. I voted for Mike Bloomberg in the primary and Donald Trump in the election. I hope that Biden will be a one term President. I do not like Joe Biden. If this offends some readers, I apologize. But I have to be honest. I'm not a Joe Biden supporter.

All over Ontario, people have been quarantined for weeks in order to flatten the curve and save lives, for the majority of places it has been working. Health officials are now saying that some places in Ontario have reached their peak and the daily number of cases are slowly starting to decline. However, long-term care homes are still at high risk and are being closely monitored to prevent a wide-scale outbreak. READ MORE AT https://www.youthinpolitics.net/post/leading-death-of-covid-19

Canadians won’t be able to return to life as they knew it before the novel coronavirus pandemic until a vaccine is available, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau said Thursday. “Normality as it was before will not come back full-on until we get a vaccine for this… That will be a very long way off,” the prime minister said during his daily news conference on Canada’s response to the COVID-19 outbreak.

As Canada confronts the worsening COVID-19 outbreak, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has hinted his government might declare a federal emergency, giving his cabinet extra powers to battle the pandemic. “It is a major tool and I can tell you that we already have a lot of tools that allow us to do what we need to do,” said Trudeau, at his Thursday news conference outside Rideau Cottage in Ottawa. “If there are other steps that need to be accomplished and can only be accomplished through invoking the Emergencies Act then we will do so.” Some experts have been urging the government to invoke the Emergencies Act, while others have shuddered at the idea, which would be an extraordinary step in the government’s response to the crisis. “We do recognize that the Emergencies Act is an extreme law with certain implications that would also require us to bring back the House of Commons to pass these measures,” said Trudeau.

Premier Doug Ford has declared a provincial state of emergency in response to a worsening COVID-19 outbreak and will now order the closure of restaurants and bars not providing takeout service along with a host of other venues where crowds are known to gather. Ford made the announcement at a hastily-called news conference at Queen’s Park on Tuesday morning, noting that the province is facing an “unprecedented time in its history” and must “act decisively” and “take any and all actions necessary as COVID-19 continues to spread.” He says that under the order the government will prohibit all organized public events of more than 50 people until March 31, including services in places of worship. He said that the order will also force the closure of all facilities providing indoor recreational programs, all public libraries and private schools, all licenced childcare centres, all bars and restaurants that don’t provide takeout services and all theatres, cinemas and concert venues.

Can you ever imagine a country like Canada not having clean drinking water? In the 1970s the Canadain government promised to bring clean drinking water to all of Canada. Now in 2020 100% of cities of clean drinking water and 99% of rural areas have clean drinking water. the 1% which is missing is the Indigenous reserves. People living on the reserves don't have access to clean drinking water. They are poorly funded. Now the question of what would the Canadian government do if Toronto had no cleaning drinking water? BTW if you guys want to know more about me and my youtube channel check it out. I interview high profile politicians including Former PMs and MPs and Senators.

Im currently a grade 12 student who started an Initiative to Inform Youth about Politics and World Issues. I started this podcast in the summer of 2019 after seeing the lack of attention being given to the Canadain election of 2019. My older friends were not voting, and if they were voting, they voted without the proper knowledge. That led me to create this podcast where I try to inform the youth about world issues and politics, and hopefully encourage them to vote. CHECK IT OUT HERE & TELL ME WHAT YOU THINK

Ray Dalio, Founder of the World's Largest Hedge Fund, Says the System is Broken Of course, most progressives know what Dalio and others like him have been blind to all along. Without strong measures to restrain the worst of capitalism and force redistribution of wealth, this is exactly how capitalism always works - or rather fails to work. When you define success as being richer than everyone else, people will find a way to do just that. Whether it's fair, whether it's moral, whether it's legal; those are things for lawyers and ethicists to quibble over. Only ideologues and idiots think that it's relevant that capitalism is transparently not a meritocracy.
