  2. Apparently he had a history of violent crime including assault with a weapon, battery and break and enter. At the time of his arrest he was in possession of a firearm and knife. His initial arrest was the result of an altercation with local police... they didn't grab him out of his bedroom doing homework. It was that arrest which led to ICE taking custody of him.

  4. And there it is. Carney has already floated a few 'deal killers' for pipelines, he's always been anti pipeline, And here's his deathblow. Pipelines can only be built with appropriate levels of carbon capture, Which makes them too expensive for the private sector to be interested in as a rule. Carney is PRETENDING to be on board with pipelines and infrastructure but in reality is throwing up roadblocks and speedbumps. How long till alberta gets pissed?

  5. Canada is the largest supplier of meth to New Zealand and it is costing lives. It is put in the beer and young men who drank it have died. One man who took one mouthful of the beer, had complete organ failure and died a week later. The sentences in Canada are very small for this crime. It should be capital punishment. It could be done with the assistance of MAID. Thousands of people every year in Canada are choosing to take MAID for various reasons. So what is problem with giving capital punishment to a relatively small number who are killing people with their drug dealing? This may be the only way that they will think twice and stop dealing in it. MAID seems like the best solution for these people. A significant number of people in Campbell River, BC are dying from illegal drugs. This also is another example of the failed justice system. People are dying unnecessarily. One reason is the relatively light sentences for drug dealing. There is no serious deterrent. We need to change the system and start saving lives. News report Campbell River has experienced a significant spike in suspected drug overdose deaths, with at least 11 fatalities reported in the past five weeks, raising serious public health concerns. Recent Statistics and Concerns The RCMP in Campbell River has issued a public safety warning following a sharp increase in suspected drug-overdose deaths. At least 11 people have died in just five weeks, prompting authorities to urge drug users and their families to take extra precautions. The Greater Campbell River Local Health Area has one of the highest rates of unregulated drug deaths in British Columbia, with a rate of 109 deaths per 100,000 population in 2024, more than double the overall rate for Island Health. 6. Carney and Ford had a bromance but Trump is coming between them | Toronto Sun Ford worked hard for Carney during the election. He sent his attack dog to hurt the conservatives, he basically said he'd rather have Carney and then gushed about carney when the election was over so hard you had to wonder if he had his poster up in his room. Now carney has thrown him under the bus. Carney gave up autos to the us and that's clear. He's done little for steel and it sounds like the best he might do is get a small amount of steel tariff free to the states and then heavy tariffs after the quota, which will keep the industry suffering. Ford has just learned a valuable lesson about trusting liberals. The guys' 90 percent liberal himself these days anyway, getting screwed over looks good on him. It's just too bad his province will suffer as well.

  8. What do you mean, we said we'd care about it deeply and consider it a crisis as soon as you provide scientific documentation that it is a crisis and that there's something we can do about it that would actually make a difference. Asked many times. Still waiting Nice attempt at deflection though

  9. Only in your fantasy world. According to USAToday, Trump has ended 7 wars and conflicts (not including Israel and Hamas). That is Biden's failure. So? It has also created millions of jobs for people who are here legally. You can only say that because you assume a government program is a good thing. I believe most government programs are an attack on our freedoms. I know far more than you do.

  10. Trump solves 7 wars, creates an alliance in the middle east that might last, stops illegal immigration, eliminates a bunch of fraud, waste and abuse and makes the Democrats defend the bad side of all those issues, so now we are back to the sky is falling Boogeyman. Go figure.

  11. I think Carney laid down too soon. I supported Ford’s approach, but the US economy is growing well and has enough data to justify its trade wars so far. In an economic battle with the U.S., Canada pays a higher price and the costs of less economic dependence on the U.S. are also high. We’re basically paying a massive tax for distinctly Canadian values and independence that aren’t well defined or very different from American values and independence. Integrated with the US, a Canadian’s vote would have the same value as an American one. The problem is that Canada wouldn’t be like any other state culturally and in terms of geographic scale and resources. Canada can’t be a 51st state. It might be ten states and three territories or at minimum four states and territories. It’s too messy to scrap Canada as a nation. Better to have an economic union and over time remove duplication of departments and policies. Until Canadians and Americans have unlimited access to each other’s markets, resources, and jobs, plus the ability to live and work anywhere in both countries, we’ll continue this anxious battle for access.

  12. I wonder if herbie has a carbon capture device on his bong, or are those pipelines exempt?
    1 point
  13. Or possibly no company, which means that a) he won't have to build a pipeline which keeps his envirofreaks happy and b) he can now hire a bunch of his buddies to do an 'evaluation and study report' for the gov't into why there's no carbon capture. Should be worth a couple dozen million each

  15. I'm not doubting that it's important to keep high-paying manufacturing jobs here, but our class-clowns don't seem capable of winning that battle. Judging by the way they treat our energy sector, it's surprising that they're even trying.

  16. Let me guess what options are available for these "Carbon capture" companies: Brookfield or some other Carney-involved company, his friends' companies, an Iranian company, Hamas, Zelin-Carne Industries, etc.

  17. If EVs are "saving the world", then what sense does it make to have tariffs on them in the first place? It's kind of like a "kill the planet" or an "I don't trust the science" tax lol. Dropping tariffs on Amaerica's competitors doesn't sound like a bad idea right now anyways. If the US gov't is demanding that they get to produce all of the vehicles made in North America, then I am 100% in favour of buying from anywhere else, and that includes Russia, China, and even from Satan's Motor Vehicle Company, if he starts one up.

  20. Not really, it's fallen WAAAAAYY down the list of public priorities. Remember how much it got talked about last election? Me either. Before he came along the polls were saying nobody was interested in carbon taxes etc No, we can't. CO2 in the atmosphere has reached highest level in 800,000 years: WMO report | CBC News You posted a news story which does not arrive at the conclusion you made and isn't science, and is easily refuted, And that is my problem. ANd the problem a LOT of people are having with climate change. I can find 100 papers of the highest quality looking into things like the vaccines, or crime, or a dozen other contentious issues but i have yet to find any actual science that shows that there's a crisis or that anything we have or could do will mitigate that. And nobody else i've asked has been able to provide it either. Which is pointless as near as i can tell. It hasn't done a thing to reduce climate change and frankly the numbers are slightly fudged. It's pretty easy to make things look like you want by picking and defining things to your favour. As a silly example if emissions fell from 100 to 10 in one year and then climbed to 20 in the next year i could claim an 80 percent reduction in emissions OR a 100 percent increase in emissions just by choosing the year Where's the science that shows us how much that alleged 'reduction' actually saved is in climate temperature or events? I see NO benefit, we're still hearing that climate change is getting worse. And i don't think anyone else is hitting their targets, we're sure as hell not. And here we go. You don't like the facts, so you're going to lash out at me. Hey stupid - those things will happen BECAUSE of conservatives. Because we're not spending money on stupid carbon taxes that drain our economy and do nothing. Because we're not doing ev mandates that try to make an immature solution work for everybody. We're the ones who are saying adapt for now and let the technology happen. You guys are the ones who managed to turn the country away from climate change with your snake oil, lies, and fake solutions. You better hope for the planet's sake that conservatives can fix your mess. But you don't. Nor have you ever produced a single bit of actual science that shows this is a crisis or that anything we can do can mitigate it. Just like every other climate snake oil peddler.

  21. Is it a prerequisite of the Maga cult to ignorantly deny anything and everything that has to do with clean energy, the climate and vaccines? Get your head out of your ass... Solar panels are tried, tested and proven technology that has been around for decades. There is as much risk with a solar panel as there is with bad or faulty wiring. Hail damage is non-existent unless the hail is bigger than 1' in diameter then most everything else the hail hits like cars is going to get damaged. The maintenance of cleaning a solar panel is not insurmountable... think cleaning your windows. Lithium battery storage adds no more fire hazard than the furnace in your home and whatever you're trying to talk about with silicone carbide is just that...whatever. Here is where you minions always stay on script and go sideways... Anything having to do with clean energy of course has to be because we're all concerned with saving the planet. There is a lot of validity to that but adding solar panels is also a cost benefit to the homeowner with typical break even on the investment in 6 - 10 years then after that, it's 'free' electricity. It add's value to the home for resale and yes, it does help the environment. Is that a bad thing?

  22. And honestly i think that's her long game. For sure the cpc would back it, and suddenly we're talking LNG, oil, and something we desperately need to share but is rarely talked about - electricity. That would truly be a nation building project, i think you're dead right there. It is what is needed, and for alberta the most. They already have the ability to get oil to market to the west, the BIG money is in being able to supply europe and get away from being reliant on china, and that means a corridor to the atlantic or at LEAST a corridor to hudson's bay for oil and gas. And i think that's what smith is going to push. "WHAT?!?!? YOU SHOT DOWN THE EASY PIPELINE TO BC"S COAST?!!? BUT YOU PROMISED US YOU WOULD BE DIFFERENT! Now albertans want to split again and it's your fault so what are you going to do to fix this? How about......" As for the northern gateway pipeline, i think that'll happen eventually but it's going to be much lower value to alberta than an eastern pipeline and it can wait till we have a sympathetic bc gov't which probably won't be long based on how badly eby's doing, and when that time comes then sensible negotiations with the first nations can happen and it'll get worked out.

  25. The worst of those released were actually deported to other countries as part of the agreement (not returned to Gaza) and included folks like Iyad Abu al-Rub, a Palestinian Islamic Jihad commander responsible for orchestrating three suicide bombings in Shadmot Mechola, Tel Aviv and Hadera between 2003-2005.... 13 people were killed in those attacks. Also deported was Muhammad Zakarneh, a Fatah operative who planned a 2009 attack in which taxi driver Grigory Raginovich was murdered, and Muhammad Abu al-Rub, who in 2017 carried out a stabbing attack that killed Reuven Shmerling. The final list of prisoners was disputed by Hamas negotiators up until the last minute and was altered several times as the group fought to free several key terror chiefs, including popular Fatah figure Marwan Barghouti, who is serving five life sentences. Lots of links to that sort of information, and lots of mixed emotions in Israel about the cost of the deal... here's one from the daily mail: https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-15182487/Fury-Hamas-bomb-victim-Israel-Palestinians-hostage-deal.html The Monkey says: You walked right into that one, so I hope you don't get a black eye OR WORSE a RED ONE BEFITTING your CLOWN MAKEUP.

  41. My equipment vendor is using solar panel as a roofing product, not even wiring it up for electricity. Because solar panel are now cheaper than galvanized steel sheets LMAO! But yes there are other risk associated with solar panel, hail damage, maintenance, fire risk especially if paired to lithium battery. Inverters are not a forever device, it will need to be replaced at a later date, think of it alongside the line of an appliance like your heat pump. The silicone carbide IGBT do wear out with use. Bottom line, everyone considering solar need to evaluate if the math works for them. The big players are no exception, they just deal with larger numbers. The eco fanatics propaganda of saving the planet is what’s dishonest about it. Not only is the carbon math wrong, it’s used as a justification for overpaying for solar products that doesn’t make sense for their geographic region in the first place!
