No you go ahead and have your day in the sun, mock away i'm sure that's what some conservatives would be doing right now if the situation was reversed... To suggest that after 8 years of liberal rule, a lot of that rage posting was unjustified is just you making excuses to throw shade....Liberal actions over 8 plus years deserve to be highlighted when they can be... While it is a liberal win, Carney is going to find out just how hard it is to govern as a minority government, making some of his plans and promises not possible without selling his sole to once again the NDP... Not sure if the next NDP leader is going to see this as an opportunity seeing what happened to the last NDP leader...but who knows... Not sure how PP can govern over a party without a presence in parliament, and will he take over another riding not sure if thats the right choice either.... he has had his chance and unfortunately he has failed to form government....perhaps he will see that and take that walk into the wilderness, the next question would be WHO will replace him...i think it is to early for that right now. but the search should at least begin3 points

And pray for our leaders, and the battle ahead. It was an exciting night, but couldn't keep awake waiting whether it's a majority or minority. Congratulations to Liberal-supporting members.2 points

There were some tensions within the party and between the Federal and Provincial Conservatives. There could be issues among them, that we don't know about. A pundit had suggested that Ford would want to become leader of the Federal Conservatives, and run for Prime Minister in the next election. Poilievre might have to step down as leader. I was thinking Lisa Raitt, might make a come-back and become leader. Your thoughts.2 points

The lieberals and the CBC used the fear that Trump was the bogeyman and the older people fell for it. It does not much matter now because the damage has been done and the liberal Marxist dictatorship are in again. The old Canada is now gone and it will be replaced by the WEF globalist elite ilk and Corney is very much pro-China. And Canada will now be flooded even more with massive third world unwanted immigrant invasion. Another decade and Canada will start to look like a third world country. It has started already. Look around. The war has begun between America and Canada and only Canadians will be doing the suffering. What have those imbeciles done to Canada who voted for Corney. 👎2 points
-
Canada sucks indeed. They say it was the old people 65 and up that gave their vote to Corney because they were brainwashed by the lying and fake leftist liberal Canadian media into believing that Trump was the big bad bogeyman. It is the old folks that handed the country over to the WEF globalist ilk and China and Corney. We are all now going to pay big time for their stupidity. And here we have been told all our lives that we should listen to older people. It is obvious to me now that they do not know anything. I think that the older people get, the dumber they get. Thanks all you elders for your service and what you have done to finish off Canada today. It was a very dumb thing you have done. Now go to your room and stay there. You have caused enough problems for today already. 🤣2 points

You mean the two prairie provinces, correct? BC, Yukon and MB seemed to elect plenty of Libs and don’t seem to be party to the grievance culture of the prairies. Saying “the west” seems to exaggerate the problem.2 points

Weeks into the campaign and Trump's tariff war, he was still throwing his slogans around and verbing the noun. He was still railing about woke this, woke that, radical left this, radical left that. This was an own-goal of epic proportions. Pierre's fluffers are out there trying to paint this as a big win for them because he increased the CPC's vote, but the bigger story is that he increased the Liberal vote by even more. 🫠2 points
-
Yes, polling is difficult, but if the pollsters had a conspiracy to tank the CPC campaign, they wouldn't have been saying they're 25 points ahead the last two years. You don't always have to look for a conspiracy every time you lose. You should try growing up and accepting that sometimes you lose fair and square2 points

Justin Trudeau was arguably the worst PM in Canada's history. Huge deficit, conflicts galore, etc., etc., etc. PM Carney was at that time a part of that poor government. Canadian voters endorsed Mark Carney, so in essence, Canadian voters are ok, and approve of all the antics of the Trudeau government, but they just grew weary of Justin Trudeau. PM Mark Carney has the voters approval to carry on with the lies and deception Justin Trudeau left as his legacy. Begs the question: Are the voting Canadian public just stupid?2 points

Look at some of the ardent CPC supporters on here who are being wholistic in their perspective. Politics is only a spectator sport if, like sports, it doesn't matter. We're at an existential crossroads here, so take it seriously.2 points

If you can point to which part of Dad Kapital Marx wrote about converting to electric vehicles? I'm really hoping that all the parties change, to become more collaborative. I don't see the Liberals going back to the moralism that help bring Trudeau down and I hope Conservatives can return to the pragmatic functionalism that has marked every great conservative PM that we have had. I don't know if Carney is going to be able to weather the political economic storm that's coming, but even if he's out in one year he can do a lot for the country by bringing up the level of dialogue between the factions.2 points

I woke up this morning to a phone call from my daughter. She's at home crying because she saw a Conservative win as the last chance for her to buy a home and raise a family in Canada. That hope is dashed by gutless wonders who cast votes for a liar and a thief. The carney is gonna sell all your asses out and you chickenshit fools don't even realize it. TDS seems to be the condition of Canada and Canadians. I don't like scared little men. I find them annoying and destined for failure. So congarats chickenshits. You will get what you've just paid for.2 points

Provincial parties and Federal parties rarely were on the same page. The conservatives seem to have gone a bit too far right in my opinion. Canadians have never been far left or right and that is what made Canada as great as it was. The more and more we become "Democrats and Republicans" the more we will split up. Provincial leaders are too concerned about their turf and will not make good national leaders. Eby ...BC only. Smith ...Alberta only, Ford... Ontario2 points

The question now is will Carney and the Liberals reverse their grotesque Marxist policies brought in by Trudeau and Guilbeault such as the anti Alberta, anti oil and gas sector laws, no more pipeline legislation (C69)? Will they reverse their soft-on-crime, catch and release legislation and stop the mayhem in the streets caused by dangerous offenders? Will they reverse their Marxist no more gas vehicles by 2035 legislation? The economy and cost of living are still major issues. If Liberals don't reverse course there could be a serious threat to the continued existence of Canada as one nation. It's all in Carney's hands now. He should realize many Canadians supported the "stop the carbon tax" movement and oppose the Marxist agenda of the Liberals and the only reason Carney was elected was because of the threats from Trump. Conservatives were 10 to 20% ahead in the polls until Trump began his threats and Carney replaced Trudeau. Is that the only thing supporting Carney now? He better start thinking about the failed Liberal laws and policies. The love of hockey and fear of Trump may not be enough to ensure Canada's future.1 point

Thanks, dummy. 1) The reason that he wasn't talking about woke BS this year (CBC even noted that) is because left4rds turned down their woke rhetoric after Kamala lost. Left4rds used to think that being a useless liar with some fake polling and 24/7 MSM propaganda was enough to win elections, but actual polling in the US showed that crap like "people shouldn't be allowed to say 'mom' anymore" wasn't winning hearts and minds. That's how dumb you guys are ffs, you needed to conduct polls to figure that out. 2) If he was talking about wokeness when his popularity theoretically surged to infinity and beyond, then it didn't bring him down to the popularity of dogcrap and cancer just because of Trump, and then suddenly make a miraculous recovery right before the election becauuuuuse, what? Why the surge in the polls at the end, if not just to make the polls seem more accurate?1 point
-
Yes. A lot of the criticisms are justified. The Liberal record does deserve to be highlighted. I think a plurality of Canadians agreed on what the problems were and how the Liberals mishandled it and in many cases made it worse. The problem was that they didn't agree that PP was a serious leader best equipped to deal with it. Highlighting affordability and how the Liberals have ballooned the public service and the deficit is a compelling message, but that not when it's wrapped in Trumpian packaging and all of the nonsense that comes with.1 point

I think where he actually did a good job was in places like Windsor where he was able to flip NDP to CPC, broke into the 905, and how he was more in-tune with younger folk. The problem is that those gains were overshadowed by the fact that he got even more people to vote against him. He grew the Liberal vote more than he grew the Conservative one, and that's no-bueno. I think the telling part of all of this is that at the ending stage of the campaign where the CPC started to gain ground in (especially in Ontario), was when they removed Poilievre entirely from the advertisements and messaging. The commercials during the Leafs games didn't even mention him.1 point
-
Some, maybe? Which of the above that Flyer's mocking do you think understand what perspective even means? I think we can oblige ourselves a bit of shadenfreude after enduring years of their rage-posting and conspiracy theories. I don't see this as a win for Carney or the Liberals either. The Liberal Party, especially, didn't earn it or deserve it. Rather, I see it as a repudiation in Canada of Donald Trump and Pierre Poilievre, and their cultivation of incoherent populist rage and worthless culture-war bullshit. I could end up being very wrong, but I think the CPC are fooling themselves if they think that their creep leader has momentum and can ride it into the next election. The better part of 4 years of Trump are ahead of us, and it's already a debacle and only getting worse. Poilievre will need a massive rebranding and image overhaul to shake the association, but I'm not sure he's capable of it like Harper was.1 point
-
You're right. Poilievre did lose the race by not growing a spine and publicly calling out the carney as a liar and a thief. I am incredibly disappointed in him and his election team. They looked a gift horse in the mouth...so to speak. Poilievre should have had ads all over the place exposing the carney for what he is and for stealing the axe the tax platform. As for Canada...I'm tired of waiting and hoping that next time will be different. Canadians have grown woke and soft. The carney is gonna fck this country dry and Canadians will take it willingly.1 point

As I see it, the polls were quite correct. CBC had nothing to do with the polls or the Canadian response to the polls. CBC had one poll, soo did all the other news outlets ans well as all the media and all the independent polling companies. They were all very close. It was a tight race and the polls showed it. Thing is, from the beginning all the polls did note that Carney was a clear choice as a leader. Maybe that is why the conservatives lost? PP even lost his own riding by almost 5K votes. As I see it, during the debate, 3 1/2 weeks into the campaign, Carney slapped PP in the face with the fact Trudeau was not running and the carbon tax was already axed. PP had to change tactics and he just did not recover. He could not get over not fighting with Trudeau. His only mantra for 10 years was anti Trudeau and now that Trudeau was not around, PP was lost.1 point

Ecos Skewed the poles in the election. Virtually all of the polling experts who spoke up about it agreed. They wanted to encourage the hard left voters to move to the liberals and convince people that the liberals were going to win a landslide to discourage CPC support. So they have the liberals at 12 or 15 points above the conservatives. We can see from the results that obviously was never the case. Setting aside the other parties the liberals and conservatives are very close to 50/50. The real difference was minor differences in voter efficiency. Well I'm sure the liberals were slightly ahead at some points it's quite obvious that the whole double digit lead was a complete fabrication1 point

Not that much more money and it is not a "patient" we are talking about, these are people who have been convicted of crimes harming others who shouldn't be let back out on the streets... and many of these cases are not one off's, they are repeat offenders.
