even posters like ecos with the absolutely detestable Frank Greaves who swore he would use his powers to defeat poilievre now show the liberals and conservatives at basically a tie after weeks of insisting that there was double digit spreads between them I don't know why but a lot of posters this election put their thumbs on the scales I think. You look at their methodologies and you look at what they said and there were a few that were fairly honest but most were less so. As I predicted a few days ago now that we're getting close to the end they're all going to pretend that they're pulling is saying it's magically a tie. Last night, everybody changed their minds and that hugely leads vanished and wow it's actually a tie now who'da thunk it This will allow them to pretend that they were at least close no matter who wins. It's pretty obvious from some of the commentary that they believe that the conservatives are trending right now and have momentum. The poles are currently showing a liberal minority. I have a funny feeling we're going to see a conservative minority in reality but you never know. If that happens I expect that mark carney will drop out of politics and go do something else despite having promised that he was in it for the long haul win or lose. Hopefully at that point the conservatives will call a snap election and say seeing as they got A free ride in the last leadership race there's no point in waiting for them to finish this one2 points

dude, if someone asks you what 2+2 is, and then you answer 22.... and then you get mad when they complain..... Your links are pretty useless. I think even you have to acknowledge that. The things they're trying to spin his lies simply aren't. Meanwhile we have carney who is out there insisting even after being corrected that it is absolutely a fact that poilievre will ban abortions. Everybody knows that's not a fact but he insists is an absolute fact not just his opinion. He said he had nothing to do with the move of his business the states we have found that that's not true. He said he had resigned from all of his boards we know that that's not true. Sorry but as far as honesty goes poilievre is one of the more honest politicians we had. I think you could honestly argue that Blanchette is also pretty honest, jag meet not so much and is pretty dishonest, but there's no doubt who's at the bottom of the pile and it sure as hell isn't Poilievre2 points

Dumbass. Thats Ratification. A Canadian-U.S. free-trade agreement was concluded in 1988, and NAFTA basically extended that agreement’s provisions to Mexico. NAFTA was negotiated by the administrations of U.S. Pres. George H.W. Bush, Canadian Prime Minister Brian Mulroney, and Mexican Pres. Carlos Salinas de Gortari. Preliminary agreement on the pact was reached in August1992, and it was signed by the three leaders on December 17. NAFTA was ratified by the three countries’ national legislatures in 1993 and went into effect on January 1, 1994 Here’s actual footage of Reagan signing the first free trade agreement:2 points

No it was not Clinton. He just happened to be president when it took off. NAFTA was signed under Bush but based on Reagan policies for example. 1) America became a global superpower after Ww2, and USA built the global international order we know today 2) After the cold ear, that international order was expanded to include Russia, China etc Free trade agreements were signed, “globalism” commenced STARTED UNDER REAGAN 3) Through the 90s Globalism was championed by Republicans more than anyone, becomes a universally accepted principle by people in both parties Americas wealth continues to grow exponentially as a result, a need class of billionaires is created. America continues to be richer than ever before Republicans continue to bus unions, rill back workplace safety and labour protections and claim the offshoring of factories is just hiw capitalism works 4) Americas wealth is greater than ever before….However wealth inequality in USA continues to increase as the rich get richer and the poor get poorer and the middle class is hollowed out. All the wealth is being distributed to the billionaire class and none is shared with the rest of society. Democrats continue to call this out but republicans ignore it and call this talk socialism and “divisive class warfare”. Republicans continue to say anyone can simply work harder if they want more. 5) Republicans suddenly falsely pretend to care about the destruction of the working class and promote a bunch of phoney baloney working man policies that are really just a smokescreen to preserve the status quo and just increased pollution, reduced consumer protection etc. Sorry the factory jobs aren’t coming back and those that do aren’t going back to the obscure rust belt cities where they left 5) The leading cause of bankruptcy in the usa is healthcare. Basic social safety nets that keep people from becoming financially ruined when they have an illness or provide a temporary source of income when they lose their job is a far cry from what you’re derisively calling “welfare”.2 points

Bullseye. Even the prevailing economic theory of the Chicago school of economics percolated for 20 years or so before it gradually gained acceptance. If you want to see something remarkable, watch the talking heads at CNBC, MSNBC, and FOX business ... Those shows that cover the markets ... Trying to get their heads around. What's going on here. They're slowly coming to the realization that Trump actually thinks he's smarter than the business world. That the economic orthodoxy they all buy into is under direct threat from The mad King that they supported. Most centrists were unnerved by his statements during the last election campaign, and felt there was at least a good chance of him pursuing the trade war and doing damage. Those who supported him felt it was rhetoric only, and that he would listen to advisors who would keep him grounded. If he doesn't give this up, it could be calamitous.2 points

Dumbass. USA effectively created and controlled WTO, along with IMF, world bank and all the other globalist institutions and USA benefited greatly from them, more than anyone else did America became even more rich and powerful after the cold war ended ESPECIALLY during the Clinton years but it didn’t start there it started under Reagan. Clinton years were just peak America before the economy crashed under Bush and all the tea party nutjobs started coming out of the woodwork American capitalists wanted globalization and they became billionaires doing it. Republicans were the biggest champions of it. Basic social safety nets are not “welfare” and your ridiculous attitude is exactly why USA ids full of destitute shitholes not seen in other first world countries.2 points

Now the Mad King is tanking the markets even further because he’s butthurt over an opinion Dow ends down nearly 1,000 points after Trump’s latest tirade against Fed’s Powell U.S. stocks suffered steep losses on Monday as President Donald Trump ramped up his attacks on Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell, prompting investors to worry about the central bank’s independence even as they grapple with the effects of Trump’s ongoing, erratic trade war. All three major indexes tumbled more than 2%, and the U.S. dollar continued to get hammered, sinking to a three-year low against a basket of major currencies. The equity selloff was less intense in Canada, thanks largely to another surge in gold prices to fresh record highs. Trump escalated his criticism of Powell on Monday, saying the U.S. economy is headed for a slowdown “unless Mr. Too Late, a major loser, lowers interest rates NOW,” in a bellicose Truth Social post which raised concerns over the Fed’s autonomy…. https://www.theglobeandmail.com/investing/markets/inside-the-market/market-news/article-premarket-stocks-dollar-slide-as-trumps-attacks-on-fed-shake-markets/2 points

Dumbass. USA became a global superpower in the aftermath of WW2. That is a fact most people learn before high school. It’s not even up for debate. The US created and lead the post-war world order which only allowed it to become even more powerful relative to other nations. The “globalist” world order started with Reagan/Thatcher but really took off in the 90s, championed by Republicans and conservatives who called liberals and democrats communists and socialists for opposing the “free market” offshoring factory jobs and corporate mergers that resulted in mass layoffs. The real reason US factory towns remain “hollowed out” is because of a failure of US domestic policy and lack of a social safety net for people who fall on hard times. In “sink or swim” America those places were left to sink amd that’s what happened. Spoiler alert: for the few factory jobs that do come back to USA, they won’t be coming to those rusted out meth-head shitholes, they will be located somewhere new, close to centres of commerce and technology.2 points

When Carney isn't doing deals with the Communist Bank of China, meeting with the Chinese Gov't, meeting with the Jiangsu Commerce Council of Canada, leading his board to vote to move high-paying jobs to NY, sticking up for his MP's who are making threats against their political opponents on behalf of the Chinese gov't, hiring new MP's who are brimming with love for mother China, or giving the CBC a Billion dollar raise right before the election, he's lying to Canadians. A lot. You remember all the lies, right? Because CBC is talking about them. Kinda. Not really. Welllll, not at all. But it's not because CBC is biased, and we know that because Trudeau gave the CBC and other media toadies hundreds of millions of dollars to ensure media integrity during the elections. We're solid. Oh, and Carney even gave the CBC a Billion dollar raise when he announced the next election, so you know that CBC is honest too. Wellll, except for that one time that Rosemary Barton lied a couple days ago. Either that or she thought that she remembered a mass grave of children being discovered in Canada recently. Let's be honest: did she lie, or did she really get so overwhelmed by all the CBC propaganda about "there just have to be some mass graves of indigenous children at rez schools, because Canadians are so racist, that's the kind of thing that people would here, and could get away with" that she just felt like she remembered a mass grave being discovered? What's worse: if she actually lied, or if she was so overwhelmed by CBC's propaganda that she actually thought that she remembered the discovery of conclusive proof of a residential school mass-murder? We all remember that it was proven that there wasn't one in Kamloops, why didn't she remember that? Was CBC's coverage of that so scant that she forgot about it? But enough about CBC's main political correspondent lying to Canadians, here's a refresher course on Carney's main, proven lies: From Western Standard: "I do not have a connection with Brookfield Asset Management. I resigned all my positions because I am all in for Canada. The formal decision of the Board happened after I ceased to be on the Board." (Fact: Carney was the chairman of the board at Brookfield when the board voted to move to NY) The Standard goes on to say 'a December 1 letter to shareholders, signed by Carney, called the relocation “in the best interests of Brookfield Asset Management”.' Same article: "Carney also declined to clarify his claim that he personally helped balance the 1998 federal budget. At the time, he was a 33-year-old economics student at Oxford, not working for the Canadian government". Carney constantly lies about his role in helping Canada avoid the 2008 recession. He wasn't the main guy, he wasn't even close to being the number 2 guy. He was the number 3 guy, and our own laws prevented him from making the same kinds of mistakes that the US made. It's beyond revolting for him to try and take the credit for something that was obviously not his own doing Carney actually slandered the Globe and Mail in his next lie. He said that he never met with the Jiangsu Commerce Council of Canada, but he did meet with them, and he even had pictures taken with them. (Toronto Sun) “Well, I’m sorry, but you can’t believe everything you read in The Globe and Mail,” Carney said. Is it worse if he lied, or he met with them unwittingly? Here's how the CBC broaches the topic of Carney's [main] lie about Brookfield. This is their own words, 100%. It's a pure, unedited "cut and paste" job: Conservatives say Carney is lying about his role moving investment firm's office to U.S. Formal decision to move Brookfield's head office made after he resigned, Carney says Liberal leadership contender Mark Carney helped steer two G7 economies through turbulent times and his track record as a central banker earned him praise and offers to serve on the board of directors of some prominent businesses, non-profits and philanthropic organizations, including one of Canada's largest publicly traded companies, Brookfield Asset Management (BAM). Now, the Liberal leadership front-runner is facing scrutiny for some of the decisions taken by BAM during his time as board chairman — including one to move the company's head office from Toronto to the U.S. Carney downplayed his role in that decision at a news conference on Tuesday night after the Liberal leadership debate, saying it was a decision formally made by the board after he left the company in January. But company documents show the board approved the move in October 2024, and the decision was affirmed by shareholders at a meeting late last month. The wording of the investor relations document announcing the office move in October makes it clear the company wasn't waiting for shareholder approval. [later in the CBC article] A spokesperson for Carney told CBC News that Conservative Leader Pierre Poilievre is "desperate to misrepresent Mark's serious experience in business because he has no economic experience whatsoever." From waaaaay later in the article: "The formal decision of the board happened after I ceased to be on the board. I do not have a connection with Brookfield Asset Management and no longer have a role obviously as I resigned in the middle of January," he said. "I'm all in for Canada, all in for this leadership, all in during this time of crisis to build our great country." Here's how CBC's article ranks on the truthometer: The conservatives didn't "accuse him", they "caught him". And that's based on documents that the CBC got access to. They just quoted him, that part is 'fine'. The article starts off with a nice rim-job for Carney... I'd love for a CBC/Trudeau/Carney apologist to try to find an article by the CBC that starts off with unnecessary flattery of Pierre Poilievre Eventually CBC got around to telling the truth Doesn't seem like such a big deal, but it's the only quote from anyone in that article on the topic of whether or not Canadians believe Carney lied... what does that quote have to do with Carney's lie? Why did CBC just let them off on an obvious deflection from the topic? Why did CBC just allow that gratuitous slander against Poilievre into their article when it was just, again, an obvious deflection? Are there any random insults against Carney in that article, or just all that random praise from CBC themselves? Does the CBC really not have a quote from anyone in the Bloc, NDP, Greens, or anywhere else that calls that a lie? No one else on planet earth thinks that Carney lied? It's just "conservative party members" who think that? That quote is in the center of "pants on fire territory", right on the upper level of seriousness. It was a LIE. 100.0%. A total fabrication. Still, the CBC couldn't find a quote from ANYONE who wasn't a member of the conservative party, so it seems as if this just remains a "CPC accusation", as far as that article is concerned. "I'm all in for Canada, all in for this leadership, all in during this time of crisis to build our great country". When he said that, it was part of a lie to Canadians which proved that he was actually more concerned about Brookfield than Canadian jobs. Summary: Carney is a monumental liar. CBC are monumental liars and propagandists. Has CBC, to this day, found anyone who thought that Carney was a liar, side from Conservative MP's? Questions for leftists: Do you agree that Carney is a serial liar? If not, then how do you explain away all of these massive lies from just the last few months? Can you name some similar lies that Poilievre was caught in, from his 21 years as an MP serving Canadians? Carney told more lies in TWO MONTHS than Poilievre told in TWENTY-ONE YEARS. Prove me wrong. 😘1 point

When you're within the margin of error one way, you can call that a statistical tie. Mainstreet definitely, and maybe EKOS could say that. These predictions are made on distributions, however, so the further from the polled number, the less likely they predict it will be. For most of the other polls to be "ties", you need the unlikely scenario that their margins of error are both fully realized, and that they both go in the direction required for the Conservatives. That's wishful thinking. It's not impossible, and momentum could swing, but if the election were held today they're still predicting a Liberal majority, and by 1 point higher than they did yesterday.1 point

It's looking a lot better for the minority government I'd much rather see. Which way matters less really. No, the judge literally disagreed they were journalists, citing that almost nothing they produce is original news content. It was an emphatic rebuke of who Rebel Media is and what they do, with the federal court judge summarizing that the large majority of what they publish has no basis in facts and that what little that does is almost all coming from other organizations and being reposted. For you to sit there and point at the fact that 2% of what they post is actual original news content is proof of their journalism chops is peak comedy. The idea that the "left" (meaning somehow Democrats and Liberal Party) created globalization is just one of the head-spinning ideas that people with no sense of history float regularly. (Another example is saying that the Nazis who jailed socialists were themselves socialists). Of course the Liberals and Dems were glad to keep the agreements in place after the hard political work was done. It worked out nicely as you ended up with 8 years of Dems and umpteen years of Liberals due to the economic boon. Ah well...1 point

Lol Trump is not trying to make that happen as you can see in real time he is wiping out people’s savings and driving up prices. He could care least about the middle class Every society needs a social safety net because hard times happen no matter what. Americas unique problems have a lot to do with the fact that they uniquely don’t have a social safety net that helps people get back on their feet. Instead it has a predatory system that preys on people when they are more vulnerable.1 point

As a fan of the network upon which Pete Hegseth was recently a pundit--another job for which he had no real qualifications, but at dramatically lower stakes--it's clear that you have no idea of journalistic standards. If multiple outlets are confirming it from multiple sources, it happened. And the irony of your post is over the top hilarious. You "knowing" and it being "proven" that Garcia is a gang member based on a tip--no evidence. You call him a wife beater? Hegseth's own mother called him an abuser in writing. Abrego Garcia has been in this country 16 years with steady employment, no criminal record and a lasting marriage. While Hegseth has been certainly accused of rape, sexual harassment, alcoholism and more. And Abrego Garcia has never put our military at risk. Maybe Hegseth should be deported? 1) Trump has only been President for 86 days! 2) Trump had damaged rhe entire global economy 3) Trump’s damage is entirely self-inflicted and self-created whereas Trudeau’s policies, including the bad ones, were affected by covid and global supply chain challenges that were not of his making 4) Even if Trudeau’s economic policies were incorrect, they were broadly in line with other OECD countries and so were the challenges Canada experienced, e.g housing shortage 5)As Ive said many times already what makes Trump’s mismanagement so absolutely isnt that he’s trying a policy that’s having negative results. Look, Policy failure is part of being in government sometimes. Every president and prime minister experiences this on some level. If elected, PP will have them too, as much as you’d like to pretend he’s a god he is kot. What makes Trump’s economic disaster the ultimate level of misconduct is the fact that this is something of such national and global importance and his disastrous actions are being done with NO policy at all and NOBODY with any expertise is in charge. Trump is a man who knows nothing about macroeconomics or trade t is being allowed to just rule by whim and make it up as he goes. He’s doing things completely contrary to all known principles of economics, with global economy just getting worse and worse every time he says or does anything. Surely even you must realize that policy especially something this important is the result of ideas that have been studied and refined dor years by a wide variety of experts and stakeholders and are only implemented when they have achieved the highest levels of scrutiny and broad acceptance from some segment of society Trump’s uninformed and half-baked tariffs ideas haven’t been put on paper much less studied or refined and what he has uttered about them is absolute gibberish to anyone either even a basic understanding of economics. Even many in his own administration don’t support them. It is absolutely unfathomable that the “leader of the free world” is acting in a manner that would get even a McDonalds manager fired1 point

-
Uh no the Trump administration’s mismanagement of this issue outclasses Trudeau and the worst administrations of any western democracy by a country mile. As I already said this economic disaster isn’t simply a case of bad policy, poor planning, or poor policy implementation, all of which could be said about things Trudeau and other governments have done. Trump is unique in that his followers have anointed him to sit on a throne and make shit up as he goes day by day despite the fact that he clearly has no knowledge or understanding of what he’s doing and his actions contradict all understanding of economics and geopolitics. Even his own cabinet members don’t support what is happening have no idea what he’s doing or why and what will happen next, it’s government by whim of the emperor and it changes daily Trudeau tried novel policies some of which didn’t work out as expected or were poorly executed but it wasn’t due to Trudeau alone making shit up every morning and changing his mind then changing it back again day after day because he’s in a bad mood. And the fact that you try to downplay this completely self-inflicted economic and geopolitical disaster that has cost the economy trillions of dollars and the US its position as trusted global leader as some easily reversed minor misstep or hiccup is laughable. By all measures the economy was “firing on all cylinders” in 2024 under Biden and Trump has erased all of that. You have no basis to say it would have been worse under Kamala other than your own deep bias. It hurt US agriculture badly and Trump provided bailouts That was another of Trump’s unsubstantiated claims which resulted in Canada imposing counter-tariffs. Ultimately while it created a few thousand new US steel jobs, up to 75,000 US manufacturing jobs were lost as steel prices soared and certain specialized types of steel not made in the US but still tariffed by Trump became expensive and scarce. Like what exactly? Be specific1 point
