I voted yesterday. It was an hour standing in line to cast my vote. I overheard a few people grunbling about the wait an I thought about the kids who lived in mud that had the consistency and temperature of ice cream and the smeat of things I won't mention. They spent 2 - 3 years in that hell from 1915 to 1918 with other kids trying to kill them. When my Grand Father returner to Canada, he spent a hear in hospital and convalescence. I was able to stand in line for an hour to cast my ballot because of their sacrifice. So, yes, thank you Betsy. Get out and vote. 👍3 points

The political commentators of 24/60 have all insinuated that Mark Carney won the English and French debate and were constantly sending him flowers and the police say that it is caused by the Chinese, but in my opinion it is rather caused by the $150,000,000 bribe that Mark Carney promised to Radio-Canada. The CBC is trying to manipulate the election result in favour of Mark Carney.3 points

Got kids? Want them to grow up with micro-plastics in their blood and brain? Or maybe you just don't give a shit about anything except scoring a few political points. This is beyond short sighted politics.3 points

All the carney has is fear mongering. His entire platform is based on "Trumpy". The carney is a theif, a liar, and bereft of ideas to actually help Canadians. Bye bye to the carney. GO VOTE CONSERVATIVES. SAVE OUR NATION!2 points

Carney's eyes almost popped out of his head when Pierre said "I already got my top-secret security clearance back when I was a cabinet minister." He also didn't seem to be aware of the reason why Poilievre refused to re-up that clearance to read these docs. How did he not know those things? Didn't he even do his basic homework? He wants to become PM and he didn't even have a clue what answer he was going to get there? Kids fresh out of law school know better than to ask someone who's on the stand a question if they're not sure what the answer will be, and Poilievre has answered that question several times now. Even Thomas Mulcaire answered that question for Poilievre, and Carney should have known that as well. How was Carney so utterly clueless there? He seemed so smug there, I know that he felt like he just asked the ultimate gotcha question... My only guess is that Carney must believe everything that he sees on CBC - apparently he doesn't know how propaganda works 😂. CBC has been probably been telling the story of "No top-secret info for Pierre!!!" for months, as if there's really something to it, in order to keep the brainwash cycle on "heavy", and Carney was sucked in by it as well. Luckily for the Carney, CBC burned that footage from their own reels and buried its ashes with radioactive waste. Mulcaire on CTV:2 points

What a load of cobblers. I'm a lefty and don't like anything vaguely right and my feelings make me call people derogatory names. I really don't have a cogent argument so lets call everything Trumpy.2 points

With HDTV, I was surprised to learn that Poilievre is left-handed, like Obama. And like Obama, Poilievre has brown eyes. Carney has blue-grey eyes. Blanchet has striking blue eyes: like Trudeau Snr. -Apparently Lincoln also had blue-grey eyes -JFK had striking blue eyes ===== Carney and Blanchet are short guys. Singh and Poilievre are taller. Carney is fit. ==== With HDTV, in modern democracies, I reckon that a bald man, a fat woman are un-electable.1 point

Blanchet did the best and is probably the 'winner'. Jagmeet lost hard. He looked desperate and whiny PP definitely took second. Carney gave him a freebie with that 'security clearance' question. Carney placed 3rd, and it wasn't bad per say but it wasn't great. He probably thought he was better off playing it safe and that's arguably true. But he really could have used a splash of passion, something that made him look alive and in control, and all he looked was either mildly annoyed or cardboard. I thought of that old joke from a comedian - " Listening to him reminded me of those professors in college that really knew how to inspire the kids to do drugs." boring, no hard hitting points, etc. Now in fairness many people have been saying it's his boring nature that has made him appealing so far. People want something relaxed and steady during these turbulent times. But I think he went a little far The problem for him is that poilievre had momentum going into that debate. About a ton but it was definitely there, and he just needed to shore up his fortunes a little bit. And that just didn't happen. I don't know that he made anything worse but he didn't make anything any better. So now people will be discussing this over the long weekend and Monday will start to begin to see some of the polls start to reflect how things went. I think his economic plan is going to hurt him as well.1 point

Right. So you take words out of context and then try to tell me I'm out of context. When answering a question about "is it justified" an answer of yes implies support because you think it's justified. I conceed that an assasin has reasons. But reasons does not equal justification. The definition of the word justification is to be justified. Justified means: having or shown to have a just, right, or reasonable basis. If you say you think something is justified you are saying it has a moral and reasonable basis. That's support. Let's stop the pedantic reasoning. You really should since you are demonstrably wrong.1 point

The only big elephant in the room in that scenario is that, the people behind Carney are the very same elected people behind Trudeau.1 point

He looked very pleased with himself while asking it though. His whole demeanor quickly changed when Pierre began answering.1 point

Sure, Carney had to ask Poilievre a question, but he chose very badly. Poilievre just gave the same answer that he gave a dozen times already, and he alluded to the fact that even Mulcaire said that PP did the right thing. How did Carney not see that coming? He just lobbed Pierre an ice cream cone question like a CNN "reporter" that was busy cupping Joe Biden's balls. Why didn't he ask him about immigration, inflation, deals with First Nations people... I guess that Pierre was going to hoist the poor old Carney on his own petard no matter what he asked him. Who do you think won the debate? 😘1 point

It's fairly obvious from your description of that that you mean basically liberals. This is A variation on the I would vote for conservatives if they'd elected Mike Chong as leader protein that we hear constantly from the left. By any reasonable measure poilievre and his version of the conservatives are comfortably center right. They believe in slowly balancing the budget, not radically doing so. They have no interest in messing with gay or women's rights in the slightest. Smaller more effective government and power to the provinces which is a very center right way to think. And their economic plans are very much a right of center series of proposals But according to you there are some sort of hard right group. Nothing could be further from the truth. So obviously your idea of center right is actually what most people would consider to be either center left or perhaps fully left. The left wing frequently suggests that anyone right of Castro is alt right extremist types. The only reason you don't see the CPC as center right is that the left has moved so FAR left.1 point

The citizens don't want these rules, they don't care one way or another, sure they talk a good game but as soon as they have to pay our of pocket their done...most of the liberal rules set around getting our resources to market are designed to keep all of that in the ground....And when they do get approved every man, women and dog along it's route needs to be paid off....Carney has no intentions of freeing up all these resources, unless they are green....He has already promised to spend 500 bil in the next 5 years, the old liberal money tree is already pretty bare, where is all this new money coming from....1 point

Did you not get the overall Tory message that they want to end or reverse every f*cking environmental regulation. Because as you're supposed to believe that the extra 5¢ and hour you'll get from companies being freed of them will be worth living your life neck deep in shit and industrial waste. Progress bad, going backwards good.1 point

Drinking a soft drink with a paper straw makes any beverage taste like drinking cardboard. The longer the paper straw stays wet, the more it becomes useless. We need to do what Trump has done in America. Plastic straws are back in America. The little bit of plastic banning that Canada is doing has no real effect on the environment at all because most countries still use plenty of plastic on so many things. It is impossible to ban all plastics which is what crazy people like you want to do. We brought or bought in the use of plastic to save the trees. Now we are trying to stop the use of plastic, and start cutting down more trees for making more grocery paper bags. Dam politicians, always trying to mess with our heads. 🤮1 point

You love to say how we agree, yet disagree with the things the things that make us like that. You want provinces with populations smaller than some suburbs to entirely fund itself? Halifax to have fewer or lesser quality services than Toronto?1 point

The whole point of federal programs like this and even the so-hated-by-extreme right transfer funds is so we don't have rich and poor provinces with totally different standards of living. If you're opposed to that idea, you don't belong here.1 point
