“He is still saying he didn’t lose the election,” Mr. Walz said of Mr. Trump, turning to Mr. Vance. “Did he lose the 2020 election?” “Tim,” Mr. Vance replied, “I’m focused on the future.” “That,” Mr. Walz said, “is a damning non-answer.” There was a reason, he added, that Mr. Pence was not on the stage as Mr. Trump’s running mate anymore. “America, I think you’ve got a really clear choice,” Mr. Walz said, his eyes getting bigger, “of who’s going to honor that democracy and who’s going to honor Donald Trump.”4 points

why not? The first nations are colonial settlers. They didn't involve here, they walked here Nope, nope, nope, well sort of with booze, not drugs, nope and nope. In fact the majority of rapes then and now done to first nations are by... you guessed it.... first nations. Its' an age old tradition from a group who consider women to be chattel for trade. When they did the missing women enquiry the indigenous women begged that the rapist men not be punished for it, and that was not the first time that had come up. THe first nations still have their land and have every single right that 'whitey' does, and then some. And the destruction of their culture was at their own hands for the most part. I know - you'd like to blame whitey for every single thing that's gone wrong with the first nations as if they are children with no ability to manage their own affairs or build something on their own. You would have us believe they are a child race. Dozens of other cultures came here with nothing, and within a generation were thriving. Those fleeing russia often got here with the clothes on their backs fleeing massive death and war and torture in their home lands during the revolution, and were gifted a small bit of land but thats it. They went on to form strong communities, learn the language, build a future and have a thriving life in no time nope. It is 100% their own inability to take responsibility for their own lives and their own communities and their own people and to turn to the government to hold their hands and wipe their butts while at the same time complaining that it's the government that caused all their problems Every other group that comes here finds solutions to make their way even though they often came from horrible terrible circumstance. These guys have been crippled for 200 years because they went to school? I don't think so3 points

"When a campaign aide warned a Trump operative ― both of whose names have been blacked out ― that attempts to block vote counting in Detroit could lead to unrest, the operative responded “Make them riot” and “Do it!!!” ...The aide alerted Trump to the developing situation, in the hope that he would then take action to ensure Mr. Pence’s safety. Mr. Trump looked at the aide and said only, “So what?”2 points

This is something I notice with leftists a lot. They take something small and then try to use it to blur the lines of sanity. Like they will point out some area where the lines of morality are iffy and use that to justify the absurd. They have to be aware of it. Like Chrissy for instance has to know why people don't want a drag performer reading to their children but would be perfectly fine with an actor who has worn makeup doing so. She would even be able to predict which people we would oppose.2 points

These are the keys: The economy and immigration, and Harris is in over her head on both. What clearly doesn't help her is that she's already the VP, and has done NOTHING to resolve both - in fact, you could say that she FACILITATED illegal immigration, and I wouldn't be surprised if she had a hand in facilitating inflation. This election will be a landslide in favor of Trump if we can keep the democrats from rigging it.2 points

Who decides whether the child is killing the mother? The doctor who recommended an abortion to save the mother’s life? What if the doctor says the chances of the mother dying is 90%? 50%? 25%? Who should decide? YOU???? Or the mother and her doctor? Why do you think this is any of your business?2 points

As if anyone needed more proof that Trumpism is a cult: Trump tells cheering audience that he doesn’t use teleprompters while the teleprompters are clearly visible on either side of him As always his kool-aid drinkers are clearly indifferent when Trump’s words directly contradict observable reality just like good little cult followers2 points

Yes, Graham was the speaker at Trump's inauguration who said the rain during Trump's speech was a sign from god. Trump, of course, claimed it didn't rain. And it's not faith in god that brings them together, but the shared faith that there's a fortune to be made fleecing the rubes.1 point

Dude, you are way off base here. As pointed out, there are "3,394 reserves in Canada set aside for more than 600 First Nations. According to the 2021 Census, there are 1,127,010 First Nations in Canada.https://www.rcaanc-cirnac.gc.ca/eng/1100100013791/1535470872302" all of whose population live there for free...housing, clothing infrastructure etc ... all free and every resident gets government monthly cheques. The indigenous lost the war and therefore their "traditions lands" mean shit. Their "reserves" are on their "traditional lands". They chose it. But hey, you are deflecting again. You still have not answered the question i asked you waaaay back "What have the indigenous done for Canada in the past 300 years???? What value do you add to Canadian society? Answer that!! "1 point

According to undecided voters, who matter most, Kamala lost because there was no substance to her answers. FYI "I grew up in a middle-class neighbourhood blah blah blah blah blah blah blah and we are creating a hope-based blah blah blah" only resonates with cultists. She could promise to serve you the blood of aborted babies on your breakfast cereal and you'd call it a win. No one else watches that and says "OMG OMG OMG!!! We really need a candidate who grew up in middle class neighbourhoods to run this country. There are really no other criteria that we would consider in a candidate. The fact that she has never accomplished anything means nothing to me. The economy will fix itself."1 point

Or hillary who's STILL going around insisting trump wasn't the legit president The consensus around the web and even just watching the debate is that vance did better than Timmy But i don't know that there was a 'winner'. In much the same way that Kamala did better than trump But there really wasn't a winner and she didn't pick up anything in the polls afterwards There was no knockout blows, but vance did get him to admit that he personally had lied a few times and that's a big deal It was nice to see them talk a little bit more about policy than in the other debate which in my books is what debates are for1 point

Now he claims he’s going to give the money to a church that forces its employees to sign a document disavowing homosexuality and same sex marriage. Great. A “church” that paid its “minister” over $800,000 last year. What kind of minister takes a salary of over $800,000 from charitable donations? Doing that is taking the Lord’s name in vain.1 point

LOL ahh yes, your usual admission that you know you're wrong "Derp... i don't have facts, lets go with insults!!!" No, it's quite obvious to me and well documented. But we STILL have massive amounts of room for expansion there, and the first nations were never concentrated there. Soooooo ... kinda blows your theory out of the water No, the fur trade was still at it's peak in the mid 19th century. it would decline later in the 19th century but it was still a major factor especially for the fathers of confederation. And at the time there was as mentioned tonnes and tonnes and tonnes of land. And further much of the issues around how the first nations would be treated was dicated by previous agreements with various kings, who had to sign off on Canada being confederated at all. we didn't need the land for settlement. And considering that a number of the reservations were right in prime land then your argument makes even less sense. Read a book once in a while.1 point

Bullshit. Second largest country in the world and one of the smallest populations. The last thing they cared about was ' a shortage of land for settlement' . If anything they wanted the first nations to continue because the bought the goods and pelts they brought in.1 point

Not a single person of 10 million population was killed and that is because bunch of idi*ts have taken over the military after islamic revolution and now you are saying that an Iranian missile was so accurate that it targeted one person out of 10 million and killed him!!!!!! Islamic Republic is a threat to the whole world and is now after intercontinental missiles to land their nuclear weapons all over the world and they don't care about massive human death and encourage end of the world.. The world must help the people of Iran to overthrow this evil regime. What if next time they have nuclear bombs on their next missile attack? Excellent source: “The Tax Cuts and Jobs Act of 2017 applies to taxes starting in 2018, and the first quarterly data on tax revenue are in. This graph compares current tax revenue categories with categories for the previous year. Most noticeable are a major drop in corporate tax income and the increase in taxes from production and imports. (In the latter case, both excise tax income and import duty income increased.) These changes are actually quite impressive: -35% for corporate tax income, +16% for production and import tax income. Personal income taxes are slightly down ” https://fredblog.stlouisfed.org/2018/06/movement-of-the-federal-tax-receipt-front/?utm_source=series_page&utm_medium=related_content&utm_term=related_resources&utm_campaign=fredblog1 point

Other Trump lies/idi0cies in the current news cycle, Trump on Hurricane Helene: TRUMP: “nobody thought this would be happening, especially now it’s so late in the season for the hurricanes.” FACT: The Atlantic hurricane season is June 1st to November 30th and peaks in September TRUMP: Biden never called Governor of Georgia Kemp to discuss hurricane damage FACT: Confirmed by Governor Kemp (R) he had in fact been in touch with Biden and was offered all the help he needed https://thehill.com/homenews/administration/4908016-georgia-kemp-biden-hurricane-helene/amp/ Trump is just so desperate now he’s just blindly and aimlessly shooting off half-baked easily disprovable lies in every direction, whatever pops into his head at the moment. Of course this has long been his hallmark, so it’s probably not so much that he’s taken his lying to a whole new level as much as he is just speaking a lot more frequently now. But the subject of his lies does seem to be a bit more random and less focused than before1 point

B. It's not a person in that it lacks the basic characteristics of personhood. It has no identify, no sense of self, no autonomy, no ability to process information. If an extra-uterine human has that level of cognition we understand that it has passed beyond personhood. We call it a "vegetable" and pull the plug. C. You can snip the irrelevant first three paragraphs of your reply. There is no tenable philosophy that proposes that either the intended or unintended consequences of a sex act magically create a supremacy of rights. And indeed, if you really want to make an argument for the supremacy of fetal rights, you can no longer give consideration to the life and health of the pregnant person. In such a cockamamie scheme, they must die before terminating a pregnancy. Your mother does not owe you her blood and tissue, period. If you try to take it from her, she is well within her legal and moral rights to defend herself against you. Go ahead. Try it. See how that goes.1 point

This has little to do with the "values" you're touting. You've said before that all you really care about now is what the federal government can give and your community. I took your comment as more of the same. Greater local management...when it suits you, but not so much when it doesn't. You're not so much about local management when it comes to drilling for oil one province over, are you?1 point
