  1. I think the person is referring to a recent Supreme Court of Canada justice who said women are to be referred to as "persons with vaginas."

  4. In todays sexual climate, it is not. It could very well be someone that "claims" to be female. Anyway, in my opinion, the Conservatives made a real stupid choice when they denied Rona Ambrose the opportuntiy. She would have beat Trudeau and made a good PM.

  14. If Justin Trudeau was hoping that this budget would give him a bump in the poles, he has utterly failed. If anything the tories have picked up some ground and are pulling at an all-time high. Meanwhile it's pretty obvious that the majority of Canadians who are paying attention hate the budget. https://www.ipsos.com/en-ca/tories-hold-steady-19-point-lead-over-liberals https://www.ipsos.com/en-ca/tories-hold-steady-19-point-lead-over-liberals A huge percent in the latest poll said they would never vote liberal: When asked which party they would never consider voting for in the next election, almost a third said Liberals (32%). That is a very large hunk of the population who is effectively completely lost to you as a party. Usually you see it around somewhere like 25%. Obviously for every party there's going to be a certain percentage of people who will never vote for you, but the liberals have turned off so many people that it becomes exceptionally hard to win. I think that Justin has been facing a lot of pressure to either get the poll numbers up or either step down or call an election before things get worse. I think he thought this budget would give him a bump and maybe they could go to the polls based on that. But he has severely misread the room. And he is quickly running out of road. I suspect this puts an end to the idea of a spring election, which means he's got a fall election or next spring and then that's it, it gets decided for him.

  19. Trump can speak freely for hours at a time with less gaffes than Biden will have while answering a single pre-scripted ice-cream question. Trump can walk up and down stairs. Trump doesn't talk to drapes, or shake hands with imaginary people. Trump doesn't fall off of bikes. Trump doesn't shuffle through his notes to see who gets to ask the next "question" and then read the answer to it off of the same page. Biden is one heartbeat per minute ahead of Weekend at Bernie's.

  22. Sorry, you may not be into politics, but "soft coup" is a well known term, and it certainly is a coup. And no, it is not an opinion. There's not a question. He didn't hypothetically pressure Mike Pence to unconstitutionally appoint him President. He didn't hypothetically send fake electors to provide cover. He actually did it, deliberately and on purpose, a plan documented in writing.

  25. Man are you ever one dumb stoopid bunny. It has been Bidumb that has been trying to destroy the American constitution and end democracy in Amerika ever since his first day in office. Trump in all of his rallies has always shown that he is pro-American, unlike Bidumb who is and has shown just how anti-American he really is. So, maybe you can tell me as to what the Bidumb regime has done to make America great other than create a more and bigger surveillence state like he has done already? Over to you, lefty boy.

  35. šŸ™„You clearly didn't put much thought into ^^this post. Were the BLM protests (a small fraction of which turned violent) related in any way to an election? No? Then of course one would not expect an election to trigger a repeat. Was the Jan 6 insurrection related to an election? Yes. Then it's reasonable to expect an election--with the exact same candidate and supporters--to potentially trigger a repeat. Try reasoning instead of reacting. It's not that hard.

  38. That's not what's being debated, donkey. Nobody, anywhere, ever argued that population density doesn't help spread viruses, which in turns leads to more deaths. Once again, you're just debating yourself. The point of contention is that the USA's horrendously bad COVID performance wasn't because of population density. There are 185 countries in the world with higher population densities than the US, but only 13 that did worse with COVID. šŸ™ƒ Obviously, other factors were at play...

  43. Well we can't actually. There's a limit to how many we can build or more specifically the rate at which we can build them. We can't build a million new homes next year. That's beyond us. And yet we're bringing in a million new people. That means the demand for homes will be higher than the supply. And that drives up the price. Well, you started off okay but you kind of screwed it up at the end there. It's not exactly that immigration is the problem per se. The actual problem is that our population is growing faster than our ability to provide homes and medical services for them. If we could build homes fast enough and increase our other infrastructure fast enough it wouldn't be a problem. But we can't, ,and all of our population growth right now is from immigration. So it's not crazy to say that immigration is sort of the problem. As long as immigration and population growth does not exceed our ability to provide for them it's not an issue. Speculation by investors is largely meaningless. They're buying homes and renting them. Which means if someone bought that home and lived in it there would be less rental spaces for the people who couldn't afford homes and needed to rent. Renting is already severely unaffordable due to a lack of rental spaces. So if you cut that down even more you're still hurting people. Whether it's a foreign speculator or a local person who owns the property it doesn't make any difference, if there are not enough properties then the prices are unaffordable. The only way to fix that is to build more homes or have slower population growth. Right now for a variety of reasons it's very hard to build more homes. Therefore reducing population growth to a number that we can accommodate makes sense. In the long term building more homes is the solution and the government will have to focus on that. But those two factors under control for an investment no longer becomes a problem and you don't get speculation buying. So at the end of the day it always comes back to the same thing: We need to build more homes and reduce our population growth to match what we can build. Absolutely nothing else matters. Fix those two issues and the problem goes away, fail to fix those issues and nothing else you do will help.

  48. Your own cites say they're protesting the government for not bringing the hostages back, not for being mean to Gazans. The last poll I saw said Israelis feel the government isn't bombing Gazans ENOUGH. The Oct 7 attack was the fears of all Israelis for the last seventy years brought out into the light. They've lived in a small country all their lives with the knowledge that every day there are people all along their borders in every direction willing to die to try to get over, under, around or through their defenses just to find a Jew and kill him or her. and Oct 7 wasn't just a couple of terrorists but thousands of people, some of them not even Hamas, but civilians who saw what was happening and eagerly joined in. There is little sympathy among them for Palestinians right now.
