It is simply and absolutely mind-blowing that a country like the United States of America can e blessed with the knowledge & ability to successfully land human beings upon the moon, lead the world in scientific & medical development, be a global beacon of entertainment-culture, etc. etc etc. -- and yet seriously & legitimately consider electing the likes of Donald Trump into the most powerful position on Earth... His latest bleatings on allowing Putin to do what he might wish to do to NATO members that are in arrears is simply incomprehensible. And that, surely, is but a miniscule tip of the next Trump presidency iceberg. I would urge readers to catch a showing of the movie "Idiocracy" which is surely available via streaming on some TV channel-outlet or other, near you. Because that is the very future that America is destined & doomed for.3 points

Libbies are unhappy because "Build Back Better" has failed miserably.! The Libbies in this site are also unhappy because our site leader allows us to respond to Libbie lies and insults in kind. That drives them wild. They're not used to dealing with opposition on an even footing. All the other sites shut conservatives down for feeding the Libbies their own crap. For that alone...we are indepted to the leadership of this site.2 points

Just because someone claims to have been diagnosed with mental illness does not mean that they actually have. Second, you can be diagnosed with bipolar and prescribed meds but not have the diagnosis be done correctly. Counter-research.. if done correctly would take years and would have to have access to personal level data.. which you know is very hard to get. So what is left... educated guesses.2 points

This claim has been circulating in the comservo-sphere for several years now. As has been summarized elsewhere on the internet: The Pew study in question did not determine the prevalence of mental illness in any group. It asked this question: “Has a doctor or other healthcare provider EVER told you that you have a mental health condition?" A yes answer means you’re willing to admit to a pollster that a healthcare provider told you at some point in your life that he or she thought you had a mental health condition. A yes answer does not mean you were ever formally diagnosed with a mental illness (the provider might have been suggesting a referral to mental health fir a possible diagnosis) A yes answer does not mean you are currently mentally ill (maybe you had a brief bout of depression 5 years prior but have been fine ever since). A no answer does not mean you’ve never had a mental illness (maybe you have or once had a bout of depression in the past but were unable or unwilling to see a doctor about it, or are unwilling to admit it to a pollster). On this last point, we also know that social stigma around healthcare topics especially mental health, are MOST prevalent among older, male and conservative demographic groups and lLEAST prevalent among groups that are younger, female and liberal. Therefore so his young AND female AND liberal belongs to all 3 groups who are most likely to: 1) admit to themselves that they might have a mental health issue, whether they actually have one or not 2) speak to a doctor about a potential mental health issue 3) admit to a stranger that they spoke to a doctor about a potential mental health issue. Liberals also tend to have higher educational attainment and greater worries/expectations about the future for themselves and their children than conservative counterparts which adds to stress. Liberal women in particular tend to have more demanding jobs and marry later in life than conservatives so the stress of the “ticking biological clock” for single women or juggling a young family with a upwardly mobile career for married women is more prevalent also.2 points

Wow. Do you have any intelligent critiques of Trump's presidency, or do you just wanna tell us how you feel? Did you miss that H.C.'16 bullet that the US dodged? Did you notice how the country has fared under the keen, steady guidance of one Joe "duuuuuuuuuh" Biden? Honestly, would you elect Joe Biden to be the mayor of a small town? Could he manage a Boy Scout troop? Could he run a lemonade stand for 20 minutes straight? Honestly dude, just tell me if you think he could be trusted to run a lemonade stand for 20 minutes and I'll tell you how much you can be trusted. Buddy, stop trying to take offence to things like that and look for the meaning, intended effect, and what the actual outcome would be... Trump was the only American with the balls to bring that up in the last 20 years and look how important NATO funding has actually been recently... It's actually a big deal. Obama, Bush Sr, Bush Jr and Clinton failed America in that regard more than Trump did. I would urge you to make a more compelling argument for us to pay attention to you. It seems like you just came here to spout CNN platitudes and pimp some drivel. Buddy, look at how the US and the world at large fared under Trump, then do the same for Obama, then do the same for Biden. In the years from 2009-2024 the US had 4 ok years from 2009-2013, and 3 great years from 2017 - 2020. The rest of those years were crap. 2014-2017 was all rioting and racial violence within the US, and if you look abroad Crimea was taken over and islamic state grew to the size of a large country and committed a huge genocide. All of those things were directly Obama's fault. The only crappy thing that happened when Trump was Prez was covid, and that obviously wasn't his fault. Trump fought covid far better than our PM here in Canada. 2021- the present has been a long downhill slide for the world and the US. Major war in Europe, rising interest rates and inflation in the US, rampant crime and homelessness, absolute chaos at the border, the Afghan withdrawal debacle... Can you tell me how the US has succeeded in any way under Biden? Your opinions appear to be absolute garbage Eddy. The last thing I'm gonna do is take your advice about what to watch on TV.2 points

Do you notice the difference between the Demis' reactions to riots that affected other people and a single riot that affected them? It's night and day, dummy. When people were getting their businesses destroyed the Dems revelled in it. When people were assaulted on the streets the Dems couldn't care less, even when they knew that the rioters were just caught up in a false narrative. When homes were burnt down the Dems felt like it wasn't worth mentioning. When the WH was attacked with molotov cocktails, fireworks, bricks, bottles, blunt weapons, etc, and over 60 police were injured, the Dems felt like it was ok. When BLMers with guns overran police stations the Dems were ok with it. When BLMers with guns claimed sovereignty over part of Seattle and then their CHAZ police killed a 16 yr old black kid and critically injured a 14 yr old the Dems were ok with it. When BLMers laid siege to federal buildings in Portland for 100 days the Dems were ok with it. On the one day a riot affected them personally suddenly the Dems weren't ok with it. Suddenly it mattered that the reasons for the riots didn't turn out to be 100% true. They sent almost 400 people to prison. Dude, that works for you because you're the exact type of person who followed Hitler like a puppydog and then cried when he died. Even one coal fired plant that can charge 100,000 electric cars emits less CO2 than 100,000 gas vehicles, but no,,, that's too hard for some people to grasp. Just like the fact if you drive 50km to work and back everyday. you are the stupid one for not owning a BEV, a PHEV already, Admit it, you just can't afford a new car you you've found something to whine about the people who can, I enjoy Scotty Kilmer's videos, but as far as electrification of cars, he's an obstinate id10t. Just the other day mentioned a guy in Northern Manitoba with an F150 Lightning who's range was cut massively at -40 degrees. Adn another who's Tesla took hours to charge as reasons not to go electric. Failing to mention the Tesla was intentionally left outside in the cold overnight on purpose to show what happens if you freeze the battery. Or that someone in rural Manitoba should consider an F150 EV only, let alone go for a 'drive' at -40. Things common sense NOT TO DO being used to make con EV arguments. If it's -40 your gas or diesel F350 won't start unless you left it plugged in, your tires are gonna go flop flop for miles, steel parts are gonna snap if you hit a pothole and even if you have full defrost blasting right at your face the whole time the slightest moisture's gonna ice up the outside of your window so you can barely see. The leas"plus" in an ICE vehicle is that some of the energy p1ssed away by ICE as heat will keep you warm. Think about licking a flagpole at -40 and clue into how cold a battery the size in an F150 Lightning and made entirely out of metal gets and how much energy it takes to warm it up, knowing since you were 6 that your D cell barely runs a flashlight when it's cold unless you stick it in your pocket for a while. If I leave my vape on the dashboard at -20 just to run in and buy more pods, it's only good for a couple drags unless I sit it on the heater. So let's be honest, the gripe is you can't afford an EV and from some of the responses about prices, you can't afford a new car at all. At the start of this thread we saw "well if they were available for $20,000" posts when the average price Canadians spent last year for new vehicles last year was well over fifty thousand dollars.1 point

Lol. No, progress isn't over. Change is not over.🤣 You're the archetypal angry old man who hates and fears change. 200 years ago you would be scandalized by a woman's bare ankle. 60 years ago you would said rock and roll is just noise and protested that Elvis should only be filmed from the waist up. 30 years ago you would have said that the "rap fad" isn't even music. The things you are b!tching about right now are the things that will simply be part of our society a generation from now. And be glad. That progress is the reason your son can live a happy life full of love, marriage, children and career instead of being locked in the closet or stoned to death. People like you die off, and the young voters of today--who think you're a joke--will take your place, and their norms will be normalized. And then some of them will, sadly, turn into you, to grow bitter and angry and eventually be displaced and discarded by the generations that follow. It's just the way the world works.1 point

let you in on a little secret... folks lie. In my experience, folks lie about their health because it is some badge of honor to say that I have x, y, and z yet still soldier on or whatever schpiel they have. Surveys are notoriously difficult to design because folks lie. To really get the truth.. you need data such as receipts, medical records, etc. Second, doctors and health professionals do not always act with the best intentions. Finally, mental health is not like a cut on your arm which is not open to interpretation. I could say that there is no cut on my arm but the evidence is objective and obvious.1 point

Ever seen a lithium battery on fire, friend? It will make a light so brilliant and hot, brighter than the sun. And cannot be extinguished with water. That's a truth that doesn't even need to be acknowledged. Wrong. Trump authorized the guard, but he didn't have the authority to send them into DC. It was Pelosi who decided not to deploy them. https://mynbc15.com/news/nation-world/trump-admin-was-ready-to-deploy-national-guard-on-jan-6-capitol-police-timeline-shows-january-donald Liberal “fact-checkers” like The Washington Post and PolitiFactargued the claim about National Guard assistance coming from Meadows and other top Trump administration officials was false, but an official timeline of the events leading up to Jan. 6 apparently shows differently. According to the timeline, a DOD official reached out to Capitol Police Deputy Chief Sean Gallagher four days before the attack on the U.S. Capitol to inquire about whether Capitol Police anticipated they would request National Guard troops be deployed to prepare for Jan. 6. “Carol Corbin (DOD) texts USCP Deputy Chief Sean Gallagher, Protective Service Bureau, to determine whether USCP is considering a request for National Guard soldiers for January 6, 2021 event,” the timeline reads in an entry listed for Saturday, Jan. 2, 2021. The next morning, the timeline indicates, “Gallagher replies to DOD via text that a request for National Guard support not forthcoming at this time after consultation with COP Sund.” Within 24-hours of the new assessment’s circulation, then-chief of the Capitol Police Steve Sund changed course and began requesting permission to deploy National Guard troops from the House and Senate Sergeant at Arms – both of whom report to House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Senate Democrat Leader Chuck Schumer, respectively. requesting permission to deploy National Guard troops from the House and Senate Sergeant at Arms – both of whom report to House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Senate Democrat Leader Chuck Schumer, respectively. requesting permission to deploy National Guard troops from the House and Senate Sergeant at Arms – both of whom report to House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Senate Democrat Leader Chuck Schumer, respectively. requesting permission to deploy National Guard troops from the House and Senate Sergeant at Arms – both of whom report to House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Senate Democrat Leader Chuck Schumer, respectively. In case you missed it, robotard: requesting permission to deploy National Guard troops from the House and Senate Sergeant at Arms – both of whom report to House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Senate Democrat Leader Chuck Schumer, respectively. Furthermore, as word began circulating around Washington of the Capitol Police’s changing stance on the need for National Guard troops on Jan. 6, Democratic Mayor for the District of Columbia, Muriel Bowser, wrote a letter to Miller and other Departments of Defense and Justice officials asking that National Guard troops not be deployed unless the local Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) approved. “To be clear, the District of Columbia is not requesting other federal law enforcement personnel and discourages any additional deployment without immediate notification to and consultation with MPD, if such plans are underway," Bowser wrote in her letter, When the "bipartisan" Jan 6th committee released their initial round of disinformation, the fabrications about the Nat Guard were "fact-checked" and the fake-checks haven't been updated.1 point
