  1. A federal appeals court has unanimously ruled that Donald Trump can be put on trial for trying to stay in power after losing the 2020 election, rejecting Trump’s sweeping claim of presidential immunity and moving the case one step closer to a jury. “For the purpose of this criminal case, former President Trump has become citizen Trump, with all of the defenses of any other criminal defendant. But any executive immunity that may have protected him while he served as President no longer protects him against this prosecution,” the panel of three judges wrote. “The interest in criminal accountability, held by both the public and the Executive Branch, outweighs the potential risks of chilling Presidential action and permitting vexatious litigation.” https://www.washingtonpost.com/dc-md-va/2024/02/06/trump-jan-6-immunity-appeal-denied/

  4. unbelievable the mental hoops that MAGA GOP supporters have to jump through on this one. you can ask over and over "why does Trump want to help Putin?" all day long, and they won't come up with an answer. because Trump has not said why. he doesn't say why. and so, his alias don't say why.

  5. This crap is getting less and less hilarious all the time. Jan 6th seems like a huge deal to them because it happened to them personally, but in the grand scheme of things, it was nothing. If this was a BLM riot at the Gov Abbot's mansion, 100% of the Dems would have supported it wholeheartedly. These scumbags really need to go.

  14. Let's remind once again, if only to those who can still observe the reality and think with their own brain. 1, There's no logical connection between the security of Ukraine, Israel and the southern border of the U.S. Yes you can pursue the safest border ever but it doesn't have to block crucial, life-sustaining aid to the nations fighting for their very existence. That connection does not exist in the reality. It was created by the lying Republican leaders for the one, sole purpose: to promote the agenda of the lying buffoon. Hostage politicking in its purest, ugliest form: nothing to do with responsible democratic politics. 2, this is no charity. The U.S. was one of the guarantors of Ukraine's security and sovereignty when she agreed to give up her nukes and other strategic armaments. The credibility of the U.S. is at stake here. Having seen this, no one in their right mind would agree, ever to give up their nukes. 3, the Axis of tyrants that has been rising will not stop at Ukraine. The overall cost of letting it win and continue, will be immensely, without measure higher, and not just in dollars, than what you pretend to be saving by this cowardly inaction. Yes, you knew. This is what's at stake here. You cannot pretend to not understand it; there can be no excuses like was just following my (lying) leaders. Your choice, act or inaction will be recorded in the history exactly as it stands: cowardly submission to the lying agenda of an authoritarian cult on track to lose sanity. Your names will be read and cited by the posterity as useless principle-less cowards lacking the will and the spine to stand for what's right for as long as the democracy persists. This is what's at stake here. And you knew.

  16. It honestly sounds like you're talking about the Russian collusion 'investigation". I can fix that for you: The "Justice" Department and FBI officials committed widespread, cartoonish abuse of the legal system during their collusion witch hunt, and the fact that it resulted in only 1 criminal conviction against the FBI is a sad proof of just how broken America's justice system really is. Lady Justice is now a kangaroo, her proverbial blindfold has been replaced with a live feed from CNN, and the scales that she's holding have bananas on one side and a pile of cash on the other.

  17. The Republicans who let their rotten leadership betray every claim and principle of defending freedom, only to play into the glory aspirations of the lying buffoon will have their names written into the history books. Of shame. For perpetuity, or as long as the democracy lasts. This is not just political games, not just another election. The freedom of people who put their lives and future on the line is at stake and you're choosing to play with it, and betray it with empty, pathetic and meaningless, lying rhetoric. The history won't be fooled as a mindless cheering mob. Your names will go into it. As you know. Think of it now.

  18. This puts into bald perspective just what a failure Trudeau has been as a financial manager, and the level of debt his government continues to accumulate largely through vote buying and vote buying deals with the NDP to keep itself in power. Start with program spending. Since taking office, the Trudeau government has greatly increased federal spending (excluding interest costs) from $256.3 billion in 2014-15 (the year before it took office) to $448.2 billion in 2022-23—an increase of 74.9 percent. After adjusting for inflation, the Trudeau government has recorded the five highest years of federal spending per person in Canadian history. Put differently, it has spent significantly more than past governments did during the Second World War or the 2008 financial crisis or other emergencies in the country’s history. Post-COVID levels of spending have still not returned to pre-COVID levels. Most of this spending growth has been deficit-financed. The government has recorded eight consecutive deficits and its latest fiscal projections anticipate more deficits for at least the next six years. This deficit spending has come with a big cost. Not only has it led to the accumulation of nearly $1 trillion in new federal debt, but it’s come with rising interest payments that are paid through tax dollars. Federal debt servicing payments currently stand at $46.5 billion in 2023-24 which amounts to more than one in every ten dollars of federal revenue. That deals with the Canadian government's finances but it's handling of the economy has been terrible, as well. The broadest measure of living standards is GDP per person (adjusted for inflation over time), which calculates the total value of all goods and services produced in the economy in a given year on a per-person basis. In the pre-pandemic period between 2016 and 2019, growth in per-person GDP (inflation-adjusted) was an anemic 0.9 percent. One study in fact found that Canada’s per-person GDP growth from 2013 to 2022 (0.8 percent) was the weakest on record since the 1930s. Overall, inflation-adjusted GDP per person has only grown by 1.9 percent since 2015. The United States, by contrast, grew by 14.7 percent during the same timeframe. https://thehub.ca/2024-02-03/jake-fuss-the-trudeau-governments-terrible-economic-record-cant-be-brushed-aside/

  19. From Politico: ”A Florida-based federal judge has ordered nearly $1 million in sanctions against Donald Trump and his attorney Alina Habba, calling the former president a “mastermind of strategic abuse of the judicial process.” In a blistering 46-page order, U.S. District Court Judge Donald Middlebrooks said Trump’s sprawling lawsuit against Hillary Clinton and dozens of former Justice Department and FBI officials was an almost cartoonish abuse of the legal system. “Here, we are confronted with a lawsuit that should never have been filed, which was completely frivolous, both factually and legally, and which was brought in bad faith for an improper purpose,” Middlebrooks wrote. “Mr. Trump is a prolific and sophisticated litigant who is repeatedly using the courts to seek revenge on political adversaries. He is the mastermind of strategic abuse of the judicial process, and he cannot be seen as a litigant blindly following the advice of a lawyer.“ The judge ordered Trump and Habba to pay $938,000 to cover the legal costs for the 31 defendants Trump linked in his year-old lawsuit. It’s the second time Middlebrooks has sanctioned Habba in the Clinton lawsuit. The first time was a $50,000 order sought by a single defendant, Charles Dolan. The new round of sanctions was sought by the remaining defendants. In the new order, Hillary Clinton got the biggest award of fees for a single defendant: almost $172,000.“ https://www.politico.com/news/2023/01/19/judge-sanctions-trump-habba-clinton-00078700

  27. They changed the definition of vaccine so that the covid shots would now be called vaccine. Under the old, more scientifically rigorous definition, covid shots would not have qualified as such. Maybe to call them liar is too strong a word. But they used dirty tricks such as changing the definition. I find this very morally problematic and this is why I don't trust the authorities. And further, like CdnFox said, you called it "hooey". You should back this up.

  32. From the study... What do the findings mean? The researchers found a strong link between COVID-19 vaccination and myocarditis, especially in kids and young adults. This can lead to hospital stays and, in some cases, death. We need to study more about how the COVID-19 vaccine might cause heart inflammation to find ways to prevent it and make sure the vaccine is safe for continued use in all age groups. I note the authors didn't say we need to stop listening to woke left-lib Vax-Nazis. Another swing and a miss kiddo.

  43. Not in those ways. I agree it's troubling, or write it off as a mystery. I meant in that he is like a rebel. He stood up to the authorities to try and speak the truth. As a young man I read the bible and was fascinated by this aspect, which made me question all that I knew of him and those who now claim his pedigree. (Priests and churches). He enabled me to believe in a personal, secret relationship between myself and god. That the message is not spoken aloud by a man on his soap box. "If they say to you, 'enter, for Jesus is there.' Do not go. It won't be me. For many a false prophet will come in my name." Shortly afterward, at age 16 I dreamed I walked around through crowds of people, and a face came out of the crowd and said "You know, Jesus is not a person. He is a way of life." And my eyes were opened.

  44. My biggest issue with climate change is the claim that it's man-made. I am not a scientist, but I honestly haven't seen any conclusive evidence that proves that our climate is changing due to our activities. Anthropogenic climate change is just a hypothesis. This hypothesis is inherently flawed because it's unfalsifiable. There is currently no experiment that we can carry out to either prove or disprove this hypothesis. This is why I feel it would be very irresponsible of governments to start passing laws prohibiting this or that based on this mere hypothesis.
