How would it be so different though from " the election was stolen" claim, without a single piece of evidence thrown out by dozens of cases and still all of the MAGA and half of Republicans (seemingly) believe it? If one has moved from the standard of fact and objective truth, to "whatever serves me best becomes, is made into the truth", how much sense does it make to fish for the lowest bottom? There wouldn't be any, obviously. Every new low will be breached by the next enthusiast of false news and manufactured lies.4 points

No blow is too low for Donald Trump, who this week began peddling the claim that Nikki Haley is Constitutionally ineligible to serve as President, because her immigrant parents were not yet citizens at the time of Haley’s 1972 birth in South Carolina. Trump, who is himself Constitutionally ineligible to serve as President, has also falsely claimed that Barack Obama and Ted Cruz were born overseas and Constitutionally ineligible to serve as President. Meantime, I await for the day when the MAGA wake the F up and realize that Donald Trump is a conman who’s been lying to them for years about practically everything. https://truthsocial.com/@realDonaldTrump/posts/1117214846093842093 points

So protesting is bad in your creepy totalitarian vision of society? The truckers had the right to protest and so do Palestinians. You don’t get to have different rules for the groups you like. Either you support free speech or you don’t. Obviously violence is another matter. The courts can and do shut down highly disruptive activities, though in Canada they generally let much more go if it’s an Indigenous railway blockade or BLM riot. Too much radical left ideological capture in Canada.3 points

When a leftist or a minority does it, it's always ok, so whether or not it's hate speech depends on who's talking. Examples of "OK hate speech": https://www.westernstandard.news/news/trudeau-calls-the-unvaccinated-racist-and-misogynistic-extremists/article_a3bacece-2e14-5b8c-bf37-eddd672205f3.html Got it?3 points

Did he have any evidence for those claims? What was the substance of them, any, objectively speaking? Fox News admitted they were "false statements". If not, they have to be one and the same thing: the difference is only what completely made up "truth" comes out of one's finger. You need to see things for what they are, and "grow up".2 points

Incorrect. Conspiracy to commit murder can be charged without an actual murder. It's not the job of any SC to determine guilt of a crime. Doesn't mean he hasn't been victimized So it's just hatred that motivated the anti trump crowd. We've known that for some time now.2 points

Of course you aren’t convinced! After all; we saw with our own eyes the live video of a violent riot consisting of people who were trying to stop the certification of the Electoral College. But you say we didn’t see it. We did see it. Now you say there was no insurrection that day, yet people were convicted of seditious conspiracy. So you say that all of their convictions were false. It’s obvious that you do not accept reality. Whether that is from an in-born neurological defect, a learning disability, too many punches to the head, extensive drug use… I cannot say. But the facts are clear: It is extremely difficult to convict someone of seditious conspiracy. Not only does the prosecution need to prove that the person engaged in sedition, the prosecution must also prove that the accused did so deliberately in concert with other individuals. You cannot be convicted of seditious conspiracy if you act alone. The Proud Boys were highly organized on January 6. They left Trump’s speech very early, in order to surveil the Capitol for weaknesses. They used radio communication to select the most vulnerable points to attack to gain entry to the U.S. Capitol. When one point failed, they coordinated to attack a different point. There is extensive evidence of these facts, leading Tarrio to not only be convicted of seditious conspiracy, but to rack up the maximum punishment allowable by law for the act.2 points

It seems universities are teaching their college age children to trigger themselves over anything they or their radical professors don't like to hear. For example, when someone like Charlie Kirk or Ben Shapiro visit a left-leaning university, they are met with liberal students who are easily traumatized and readily insecure. It makes for entertaining video, but it illustrates how powerful the left has gotten with its bullshit take on "hate speech".2 points

What Trump’s lawyer said was neither sensible nor was it true. What he said was the only excuse he could think of to justify the absurd. The Constitution does not say that the President is immune from criminal prosecution unless convicted by impeachment. What’s more, Trump’s lawyers argued that Trump could not be convicted by the Senate because he was no longer President, and several Senators voted for his acquittal for that very reason. Thus, Trump’s logic says that if a crime is undetected until after the President leaves office, or if the President resigns one day before the Senate votes to convict, then he cannot be charged with criminal offenses. This would create a unique system of justice in which one person cannot be tried for crimes the same as anyone else.1 point

I, for one, am so beyond tired of it. However, I know humanity and know that some simply need something to obsess about. They can never be satisfied or content without something to rail on about or hate.. WCM being the best example.1 point

Lefty liberal snowflakes will never get anything right. They are just to bunch of emotional children with emotional mental problems to even try to reason or deal with. They are just a bunch of snowflake Karen's. They do live among us alright. 😁1 point

No, you're the one who's confused, and you're also pissed off. You've seen that the Trump accusations of insurrection don't hold water and out of TDS fueled frustration you've turned to the "J6 convictions" to help soothe your fevered brain. Now admittedly, I haven't looked into the cases nearly as much as you perverts have, and that's to be expected given that I'm not saddled with Trump Derangement Syndrome. I know you're desperate for a win here, but it's going to take some time to familiarize with the cases. You're waving the question of "exculpatory evidence" around like a banner of wokeness, but you don't take the time to ask me who I think might be innocent or guilty, and that's going to take a little research, which I will do going forward.1 point

The Truckers Protest was a loose organization of thousands of people who heard there was going to be a protest against the little dictator and they were not convicted of a crime and most did nothing illegal. A few involved in the occupation were charged and being tried. But the overwhelming majority were not charged or convicted of anything.1 point

Well its' not exactly a 'council' you'd sit on, but she might have worked for them. That would be more challenging to prove easily. It's just the gov't deparment that advises ministers and cabinet and basically turns out little "Humphrey's" for those who are fans of Yes Minister The clerk of the council is the head of the civil service in Canada. That list is published so we know she was never the clerk, but she could have had an important role, its a huge department1 point

Track record is a real thing. If people are known to be honest then they get the benefit of the doubt when a questionable situation comes up. If they are known to be DIShonest - then the opposite is true Myata, Michael and Treebeard appear to be supporting the idea that track record should never matter. Given their track records, i think we can understand why they'd feel that way Translation - live within your echo chamber so that you don't hear anything that might be disquieting Mike - you couldn't be more of a left winger if you tried.1 point

LOL there absolutely is and it's not an uncommon charge If i tell someone "here's a gun, go kill john over there" and he says "Sure" and then goes to the police i wll for sure be charged with conspiracy to commit murder. Even tho no attempt was made, i conspired to make an attempt Once again Roboattourney shows he doesn't understand the law1 point

When someone cheats at cards, it's automatic to assume that they're going to cheat again. When they pull 4 aces on their next hand, of course you're gonna look into it if possible. You're trying to get through this conversation without acknowledging the fact that the Dems are habitual cheaters, they were completely busted multiple times, they're pathological liars, they have an unholy alliance with the FBI, and that a lot of very dodgy things happened: late truckload ballot heroics, counting rooms blocked from public view, boxes of ballots pulled out from under desks after people have left, a candidate who didn't campaign yet got 80M votes after a few 20-minute videos from his basement... The 2020 election reeked to the high heavens.1 point

These were not convicted criminals. There were people who were not charged with anything and committed no crime who had their bank accounts frozen. The Trucker's Convoy was not an illegal organization.1 point

I never agreed with the occupation of Ottawa and still don't agree with it. I don't think they should have brought trucks into Ottawa or honked horns. No. Why are you evading the reasons for the protest? Do you support Trudeau seizing bank accounts of people who donated a few bucks?1 point

Grow up, dummy. This appears to be what's known as a 'spurious allegation', more along the lines of "He paid Russian hookers to pee on a bed", which CNN and CBC ran with. As an anonymous internet poster, I hold myself to a higher standard than they do. Trump's accusations were more like "The guys who were caught cheating several times on the 2016 election appear to have run some more of their scams", after they spent years making scams easier, and then truckloads of post-election ballots swung a state or two.1 point

Unless it’s to oppose COVID restrictions, in which case there is am unlimited right to indefinitely blockade border crossings and the streets of the national capital, no matter how much economic damage it causes and how many lives it ruins, is that correct?1 point

I know there was a Delta variant that came in a second wave and killed a lot of people, and then Omicron became the prevalent strain and it was far more transmissible but much less deadly. The original two variants, Alpha and Delta, were replaced by the far more transmissible, but less deadly Omicron. Plus, very high proportions of the most susceptible age groups were vaccinated, making Omicron even less deadly. New York was hit hard because of very high population density, it’s the crossroads of the world (LOTS of international and domestic travelers coming and going), it got hit very, very early, when the virus was its deadliest and there were absolutely no vaccinations, and insufficient availability of PPE. That’s what happened.1 point

Seems like you take the opposing view to everything. You are obviously against the west. I am beginning to wonder if you are a Russian or Chinese internet plant or working for China or Russia trying to cause division in the west in some small way. My guess is that is how they would operate. We don't have to be a genius to figure this out.1 point

It does not seem like you have the best understanding of history when it comes to Ukraine. The Ukrainians do not want to become part of Russia. This war has been ongoing since 2014, when Russia invaded the Crimea and Eastern Ukraine. Historically Ukrainians have suffered horribly under Russian rule. The whole "NATO is to blame" is just useless Russian propaganda. I know of new Ukrainians in Canada, and literally every single one is in support of fighting off the Russian invaders. The Ukrainians can give up, but that would mean Russia annexing 20% of Ukraine, and having the ethnic Ukrainians persecuted.1 point

It's what I'm reducing it to I guess - I don't feel like I have much else to work with. For what it's worth though I think the entire ME was dealt a truly rotten hand by powers-that-be that should have known better. It's little suspicious how easily Israel's supporters cite the UN when discussing the legitimacy of Israel's creation and then just as easily condemn the UN on virtually everything else it's done since. I know. But this is another two way street where unfortunately there are plenty of Israelis and their supporters who want to destroy Palestine. I suppose. What Hamas is firing seems pretty easy for Israel to deal with. What Israel throws back seems like overkill to say the least. In any case I really think Israel's supporters need to neutralize Iran.1 point

Do Francophone schools in Quebec have students sing the national anthem in the mornings like much of the rest of the country? I'm beginning to think most do not: https://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/montreal/schools-should-sing-national-anthem-says-st-lazare-resident-1.1331635 Do they sign the anthem in indigenous schools on reserves? Is there a school in the continental US that doesn't sing the US anthem and/or recite the pledge of allegiance? Doubtful. Here's a wedge issue: does a voter consider themselves "Canadian" in nationality, and are they glad to be one?1 point
