It is actually a sign of a healthy democracy when members of a party don't vote as a solid block. A few years after Florida decided to grow a brain and quit electing Democrat governors, our legislature and Governor Jeb Bush passed a bill called 10-20-LIFE. It was (and still is) the ONLY reasonable gun control law on ANY books in the United State because it targets ONLY the criminal. Bring a gun to a crime and you get ten years automatically. Fire the gun at a crime and you get TWENTY years automatically. If you shoot someone, (whether he/she dies or not) LIFE IMPRISONMENT automatically.
