  2. When I pay taxes there's the understanding I get better roads, garbage pickup, education and health care. Paying carbon tax, I don't see where the money goes. Just another liberal false equivalency.

  3. I do too. Because for the last 3 years, we've only heard from one "position." This is why the world's pandemic plan, which every country threw out the window except Sweden, included experts in a large variety of fields. For instance, if we had listened to the engineers who are experts in aerosols and the physics of dispersal, who understand the efficacy of masks and know which situations call for them and which don't, we would have known the benefit is miniscule. Then we could have done the proper risk/benefit analysis - does damaging children for years on end warrant the miniscule benefit to 97 year olds? Maybe we would have required them in nursing homes, but only during flu season and not when elderly ones are on their deathbed and need to be with and see their loved ones. Unvaccinated fathers could have attended their children's births and parents would not have been barred for years from seeing their children play sports, or watching them at dance and music recitals. Instead, we had people with zero education in this particular science, making decisions based on political expediency and how to wring out every last stitch of fear in the general population. None of this is new science. We've known all this since long before covid. We threw established science out the window in favour of superstitious fear and manipulation for monetary gain. So yeah. I think it's way past time we started paying attention to other "positions." Lots of us have been saying this from the beginning.

  7. Some highlights: 1. White privilege is a myth and a lie and should be completely destroyed. It is rooted in racism. It is a racist idea. 2. Why don't they talk about Asian American privilege? Asian Americans were treated horribly in the 1940s and 1950s. We treated them horribly and put them in internment camps. Then through a series of decades of making good choices, they have now become the richest per capital racial sub group in America. We never hear about Asian/American privilege. I never hear about people getting so upset that Asian Americans are getting the PHDs, the degrees, all the good jobs in California, yet they are trying to target white people. I'll probably be back in a couple of days, to see how stupid this thread becomes. Facts are facts. There is NO White privilege whatsoever.

  10. The most divisive and divided political party is whoever happens to be stuck with America's deplorables. Democrats, although it took them years to recover, were able to wash their hands of them when George Wallace's followers split the party. Now it'll be the Republican's turn to wander the wilderness after the deplorables follow Trump into oblivion.

  11. The Dems are the party of division. They're the ones who encourage riots and who try to act like everyone who voted for Trump is a domestic terrorist. For some reason you're regurgitating the propaganda of the most worthless, divisive political party ever to run for election in North America. I'm not gonna bother telling you what that is.

  12. Incorrect. Once again you’re caught with your pants down and fact-free In February-March 2014, Russia annexed Crimea outright, and invaded Donbas with irregular “militias”, Wagner mercenaries and de-badged Russian regular troops. The Azov regiment was a resistance group that formed in the Donbas in May 2014 and was absorbed by the Ukrainian government in November 2014.

  22. You and ex-flyer are the last holdouts eyeball. Everyone else here understands basic arithmetic. TBH I said I was a giant compared to you. That doesn't make me a Mensa candidate. IIRC it was rebound that was saying he has an IQ of 140, which is probably true on the leftist scale, the conservative avg is about 2000 on that one. Who said everyone else was wrong? Millions of people know the vaccines aren't working, they just didn't bother to look at the Health Canada website because they didn't expect any real stats to be there. I think pretty much everyone wants to help someone, it's just a matter of whether it's themselves or someone else. I'm done having kids, my reproductive system doesn't matter. If the reaper comes tomorrow I honestly can't complain, I'm pretty sure that the amount of happiness I've experienced in my life is in the top 1% from a historical POV. We are a lucky generation in a (formerly) beautiful country. If I took the vax and it had some bad side-effects for me I could handle it. Does it seem to you like I'm trying to save my own bacon by drawing attention to the abject failure of the vax, the danger it poses to young people, and the fascist nature of the mandates? If we're being honest, you're way too happy to see young people being forced to take the vax when we both know that there's no danger to them from covid. You want children and young adults to take the vax to protect you. Selling out the younger generations is the lowest form of cowardice there is dude. You make me sick. I wouldn't even say the slimy, cowardly things that you're saying under the cover of internet anonymity. Gross.

  23. It's apparently not simple math at all given no one else seems to get what you alone possess the ability to see amongst the stats. We have to allow for the possibility you really are the intellectual giant you claim to be, apparently on par with or even exceeding that of a Mensa genius. Anyone who knows he's right where everyone else is wrong especially given the significant number of deaths that could be prevented has a moral obligation to put that information into the hands of proper authorities. You're a liar for saying you want to help people and a coward for not showing any conviction.

  26. I was a huge climate change fan, i bought solar panels to power my home, got a massive heat pump, pellet stoves, had my home spray foamed for the extra r value, purchased high efficient appliances, the only thing i did not do was buy a Pruis that's not happening. I love the outdoors, i hunt, fish and would be content just living off the land. Now i question the whole climate change issue, to a massive money-making machine where very little goes into preventing climate change globally. here in Canada, we are content to hack off the arm that feeds us, to please a few disenchanted, brain washed extremists to push an agenda that the majority will say HHHRRRAAAHHH climate change is real mother trucker...until they say this is what it is going to cost then the slowly close the door and you're talking to the doorbell cam. and for the most part the majority is happy with all the action the government has taken today... I mean have you seen the COP's number on where Canada sits in progress with climate change near the bottom. Russia is ahead of us with China just below us, does that sound like a nation that is serious about climate change. I have not heard one Canadians complain about how much it cost us to get to this point in our lives, or for the most part our quality of lives, which is due to generations before us building what we have today. How many people give the future a second thought when providing for their family of right now. did i think how much carbon went into building my solar panals, or how the earth was affected by building with wood, nope not a second thought.

But this will give NATO more reason to provide Ukraine with way more air defence, it shows they are a threat to NATO airspace if they're going to be that reckless with their terror campaign against civilians.

  33. What information am I supposedly withholding eyeball? Weekly Covid deaths never changed at all after we vaccinated 85% of our population, and the vaxed crowd have the exact share of deaths that their percentage of the population would expect if they all took HCQ or ivermectin (assuming that those cheap, off-patent drugs do nothing). Just pretend it's a Trump vax, and Trump was out ballyhooing about the yuuge success of it: Trump: "I'm telling you eyeball, that covid deaths are way down since we got the beeeautiful vaccine. Look how the weekly death total charts just plummeted after the rollout! They may look identical in 2022, or even a bit higher, but that's an optical illusion that people experience when they need another booster. There's nothing like this vaccine I tell you. Some people say it's the most beautiful vaccine ever. They can't even believe how shiny the bottle is. You couldn't put a cheap vaccine in that shiny bottle, it would look really really bad. So now only 85% of the covid deaths are among the vaccinated. That means that 15% of the covid deaths are coming from the rest of the population, when they only make up 15% of the population. You do the math. It's beautiful and it's yuuuge. The vaccine is a yuuuge success and I think that covid is over now, because of the beautiful vacciiiiine and its massive success. vak SEEEEN! Sounds so beautiful. Enjoy, eyeball, I still love you even though you think I'm a bloated, crass, misogynistic, racist imbecile with no friends." And just remember, my whole point isn't to say that "the vaccines are useless". Maybe there's some evidence out there that I'm not seeing that shows a benefit. Maybe they do help. All I'm saying is: "THERE'S DEFINITELY NOT THE KIND OF SUCCESS HERE THAT JUSTIFIES FORCING PEOPLE TO TAKE THE JAB IF THEY DON'T WANT IT!" There's also not enough evidence to say that the puny side-effects, like myocarditis and changes to the female reproductive system, are trivial by comparison. You can believe for yourself and for your family and that's your right. But telling me that "IT'S WORKING AND WHEN PEOPLE DON'T TAKE IT THEY PUT THE REST OF US AT RISK!" is like pissing in my face and telling me it's raining.

  34. We haven't done nothing, though. We have spent a fortune on climate change to no actual advantage for anyone but those getting the money. There is nothing Canada can do about climate change other than see to ameliorating the effects in its own territory. Climate change is inevitable and almost no one in the world is doing much to avoid it other than the West.

  35. Total CO2 in the atmosphere is very small because it is a trace gas to begin with. 97% of this trace gas called CO2 in the atmosphere is natural. Man only contributes 3% and out of the total CO2. That means man contributes next to nothing. The atmosphere is also full of water vapour which is also a GHG and effects the climate. How do you know it is man's tiny contribution that is a cause of climate change? You have not explained anything. The fact is you don't know and are just assuming man is the cause. You are like little Greta assuming the worst about mankind and anyone who has any resources or savings like Canada. Canada's contribution has been likened to throwing a medium size Tim Horton's coffee cup into an Olympic size swimming pool of CO2. It is nothing. You really think punishing Canadians will make any difference?

  36. Are you for real? Michael please don’t be such a complete sucker. Climate change may or may not lead to a crisis. I mean it will eventually as it has in the past. A super volcano or meteor could end us a lot sooner than climate change. We don’t know the human impact on climate change. Our world population will be flattening soon and our energy technology is improving. Throwing tax money at “fighting climate change” is pissing in the wind. Giving money to developing countries to compensate them is next level stupidity on the scale of making reparations to the Loyalists for the land they left behind to in the US. PT Barnum would have a field day with this naivety. “There’s one born every minute.” This is all about leveraging power to China and Russia who have lesser climate obligations and are selling oil and infrastructure to the world, making money like bandits. What a joke. Honestly Alberta and Saskatchewan should sue the Feds over the destruction of our resource sector and energy security. Canadian citizens should vote this government out of existence for its punishing carbon taxes and government overreach.

  37. Retired general's speech slamming Canada's climate change policies, cancel culture and weak leaders applauded by officers Ret. Lt.-Gen. Michel Maisonneuvee made his speech as he accepted the Vimy Award, which honoured him for his life-long contributions in defence, at an Ottawa gala Serving senior Canadian military officers gave a standing ovation to a speech by a retired general who criticized everything from the removal of historical statues and apologies to victims to government climate change policies. Retired Lt.-Gen. Michel Maisonneuve, accepting a top defence award Nov. 9 in Ottawa, also took a swipe at leaders who he claimed divide rather than unite. While not specifically naming Prime Minister Justin Trudeau or Hillary Clinton, Maisonneuve said “can you imagine a military leader labelling half of his command as deplorables, fringe radicals and less-thans and then expect them to fight as one?” https://nationalpost.com/news/national/defence-watch/speech-slamming-canadas-climate-change-policies-cancel-culture-and-weak-leaders-applauded-by-canadian-forces-officers/wcm/f9ff4f6a-2ac8-4efd-b828-cd186ecad1bd

  40. Without Trump, there is no Republican Party. They have no other figures as powerful with as strong a message. And with another Democrat, there won't be an America. This place will be Venezuela with a multi trillion dollar national debt. What America should be saying to Republicans is GET YOUR HEAD OUT OF YOUR ASSES AND PUSH THE MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN THEME AND QUIT TRYING TO BE FRIENDS WITH THE DEMONAZIS. Trump is the best president of the 21st Century. He belongs in that office. Get over yourselves, Romneys.

  41. It's framed as "Parents' Rights".... BUT... It's such a narrow lane of issues ... like "the school has to let you know if your kid is talking to counsellors about changing their gender". Given that you have a country of 300 million people with major economic, environmental and unity problems ... with responsibilities for global governance as well it's tough to see how they can make that a framing issue. Also to point out that the folks who get angry about LGBTQ are dying off every day. Young people don't care about these issues as much.

  43. Your links "prove" that you don't know the difference between fact and opinion. You've shared opinion, now try dealing with facts. Look at the numbers. Higher GDP growth. More jobs. More stock growth. Reducing deficits vs growing deficits. Etc. Obama performed better in every category. You say the Obama economy was one of the worst ever, yet you are factually incorrect in every way. You claim Trump outperforms every Democrat in history, when his results poorer in every way. Hm... Shameless lies? Ignorance? Credulousness? All of the above? I don't think you're capable of sorting and comparing the data, but I'm rooting for you to surprise us. Let's just start with one. Find some primary sources and go for it. Good luck, because the fact is that Obama started with a terrible economy and it recovered to a healthy, growing economy. Trump took over a healthy, growing economy and left it terrible. There are obviously extenuating circumstances for both men, but the tale of the tape is what it is. Trump loses by a landslide.
    1 point
  44. Are these some of the so-called "facts" you've been telling us about? And yet, the actual data shows that Obama, who took office at the peak of the Great Recession, still managed to outperform Trump, Bush 1 and Bush 2 in every metric. Better on deficit. Better on GDP. Better on jobs. Better on stocks. Better on deficits. Comparisons are plentiful and easy to fine. This one is very user friendly. Or go do your own with primary sources. Trump told you his economy was awesome. One more thing he lied about. Hell, even if you throw out the pandemic year, Trump took over a healthy economy, started "printing money" with increased deficit spending and still didn't accomplish much except putting us into a poor position to deal with an actual disruptive event. Trump's a loser through and through. No surprise he was a one-termer.
