  2. I only saw the word 'transform' in the original article, nothing to say insurrection was at hand. Certainly not like blockading the Ambassador bridge or anything. Here's another version. 6. 1. It's called a comparison. One torched several cities across the US. The other dared to serve hotdogs on a public sidewalk 2. Ambassador Bridge was already cleared before invoking the EA. 3. Only to those who watch global news. At the time the majority saw mandates as deeply unpopular and patients was running thin with the usual nonsense of blind trust of the experts They just happened to raise about 20 million dollars in a go fund me account plus by estimates 20k per day in cash from Ottawa residents. But nah nobody supported them ? 4. Okay good. That's what this is about. Instead it's turned into character assassinations of Canadians who opposed mandates and what appears to be an orchestrated effort for the Trudeau government to dig for info for a private class action lawsuit which is bizarre this is allowed

  7. The title of this thread is too long, but the subject needs to be addressed. But first, Moonbox, Luz did not call Trudeau an authoritarian, nor compare him to Putin. Why not debate what was said rather than what you think was inferred. There was a time when I was a cheerleader for the USA. They could do no wrong in my eyes. Wow, it feels strange to even type that. But I’ve come to realize that most western governments no longer really serve their people. The US is the worst of all. The leaders hide their true agendas, pay lip service to the people when it’s election season, and from one political party to the next, the insidious agenda is basically the same. The CIA has terrorized people around the world, tortured Americans and started wars. The FBI has become weaponized to achieve Biden’s domestic goals. Americans are stuck in what’s become an evil empire. At this stage, the only answer is for America to go bankrupt. The upcoming economic depression may do just that. No empire lasts forever. There will be a day of reckoning for these scumbags. My mantra these days is, “Let Justice be done though the heavens fall.”

  11. crushing peaceful assembly, protest & associated civil disobedience in violation of their solemn oath to bear true & faithful allegiance under Section 1 of the Charter of Rights & Freedoms "subject only to such reasonable limits as can be demonstrably justified in a free and democratic society." most egregiously seizing private property without court order, with no judicial review there is no law in Canada which empowers them to do that, including the Emergencies Act thus that is utter lawlessness, seizing bank accounts without any authority other than intimidation by definition, that is literally our government committing bank robbery by any other name if they can get away with that, they can get away with anything, they could get away with mass murder

  14. This is the sort of hysterical rhetoric I was talking about in the other thread bud. You can't complain about how the trucker protestors were portrayed in the media and then slap these sorts of gems down on the forums. Maybe pull some quotes from the article or something, rather than just a one-liner and a paywall link.

  16. The premise here is incorrect to start with. The right half of the chart is indeed better, vertically and horizontally. Spikes are smaller in bothe dimensions. The big spike post vax in Jan 2022 is when Omicron landed. I don't think Flu season is likely meaningful in a COVID count except for the fact that they spread under the same conditions. And no, it's not a control group. Many people took advantage of the vaccine protection to abandon other mitigators like masks and social distancing to return to normal-ish life. And the "people I believe" are the same people you believe, and indeed the same people who furnished you with this chart. Except that you only believe them when you think what they provide confirms your bias, and you dismiss the exact same data when it shows you to be incorrect. That's nuts. Let's try something else. Look, here's another view - same PHAC data from which you arbitrarily pick and choose what to believe. ^^The boosters are dramatically more adopted by the elderly and high risk, but the top two rows are the most reaonable comparison. (Not standardizing for age is extremely generous to your case, and still it fails spectacularly.) The unvaccinated account for 40.8% of cases but account for 47.6% of hospitalizations and deaths. Those with standard vaccination account for 32% of the cases but only 19.9% of hospitalizations and 16.8% of deaths. Even without standardizing the data, it's plain as day that the vaccines significantly reduce severe outcomes and death in people who contract COVID.

  17. There was no more reason for Pat King to be in Jail than Trudeau. I still don't even know a lot about Pat King TBH. I don't care. His back-story is meaningless to me. I care about vax-fascism a lot, and Pat King is anti-fascism. Vax-fascism is far more of a threat to this country than Pat King ever was. The enemy of my enemy is my friend. I was on Pat King's side for a while. Pat King should not have been in jail for standing up to fascism.

Carter's weakness led to the Soviets marching into Afghanistan. Reagan came in and defeated the USSR without firing a shot. It's about competence in leadership.

  19. Okay, but then you're not even making a fair comparison between the two. You are presenting BLM in the worst possible light, while trivializing the impact of the Freedom Convoy. If you can't avoid spinning yourself, how can you complain about the media bias with a straight face? Right, but what are you complaining about, exactly? I've already agreed with you that the EA was unjustifiable. I thought we were talking about media biases now. No, they were deeply and broadly unpopular protests and surveys across the country confirmed that, with almost 50% of even conservative party voters disapproving. Whether or not you agreed with the medical experts is irrelevant. This is where you and the truckers lost support and sympathy, because when you start making medical arguments you're no longer arguing about individual freedom of choice, or the economic cost of mandates, but rather broadening it into conspiracy theory, anti-science and culture war garbage. Who said nobody supported them? 20-30% of the population is a lot of people. No, these are two separate issues. A lot of Canadian media has questioned and criticized the EMA. That doesn't mean that they can't still be deeply critical of the freedom convoy protestors. If the inquiry finds that the EMA was an overreach (and they probably will/should), that's not a vindication of the protestors, but rather official censure of law enforcement and lawmaker's incompetence in dealing with them. These protests should have been ended sooner, and they shouldn't have required the nuclear option.

  29. but it really all comes down to Canadian culture the Canadian "Peacekeeping" myth Canadians invoke that the Americans are the "Warmongers", while Canadians are the "Peacekeepers" so the politicians just pander to what the Canadian people desire the politicians say that Canada doesn't need firepower, protection nor mobility, because that's not for "Peacekeeping" that is literally the Liberal policy from the 1990s they said all Canada would need is lightly armoured cars & jeeps to do "Peacekeeping" even after 9-11, the Liberals still declared that Afghanistan was just going to be "Peacekeeping" even when the Liberals decided to charge into Kandahar, that was going to be "Peacekeeping" it's never going to change, because this is Canada, this naive self righteous pacifism is Canadian culture and culture is destiny

  30. What Trudeau was and what he became are just so wildly different. At least Harper was pretty much the same throughout his tenure as PM. In 2015 Trudeau seemed genuinely optimistic for the future of Canada. I'd say even by 2017 the narcissism really came out. I mean, yes all politicians are to some degree but Trudeau is just off the scale.

  31. Note that the initial spike in the graph attached is at the beginning of covid, when it was a completely novel virus. It's not January 2020 or January 2021. The two highest spikes are 1) when covid was new in Apr/May of 2020, and 2) Jan of 2022, when 85% of Canadians were multi-vaxed. Theoretically #2 was a "pandemic of the unvaxed" spike, but 85% of those deaths were actually among the multi-vaxed. The bump for January of 2021 is the 3rd-highest bump there.
    1 point
  32. Tell me eyeball, if there were x number of Canadians dying in 2021, and 85% of our population took a vaccine that brought their death count down by 80%, (divided them by 5, as in 1/5, or multiply that number by .2, whatever your prefer) what should the total death count be? If we were to call death rate of the drooling unvaxed Canadians "y", that would make the death rate of the superimmune vaxed group .2y, right? Because they're 5x less likely to die. Surely you understand that in early 2021 the death rate of 100% of Canadians would just be y right across the board, because they were all the same. Therefor the number of Canadians expected to die in 2021 was a simple 40,000,000y. Our entire population times the death rate for tards. Yes, sadly we were all equals once. So 2021 deaths totalled 40M times y, or 40My. In 2022 the 85% of our population that vaxed (.85 times 40M, or 34M people) had a death rate of y/5 or 0.2y. Are you with me so far? The total number of deaths among the vaxed should be 34M x .2y (down from 34M at 1y). That's the same as 6.8M times y. 6.8M x y. (6.8 comes from 34M x .2 = 6.8M.) The total number of deaths among the drooling, racist, misogynistic, unvaxed should just be 15% of the population (6M people) multiplied by the death rate for conspiratards, which is straight up 1y. 6M people dying at the full rate of 1y. 6My. If you add all of the deaths from both groups up, that would be the total number of deaths to be expected from Canadians. Vaxed 6.8My + unvaxed 6My = 12.8My. Our total is now 12.8Million times y, down from 40My. 12.8My/40My = 32%y. So in 2022 there should have been 32% of the total deaths, just like I said before. I just did the math a different way this time but still came up with the same answer. I can do stuff like that because math isn't my enemy. Note that there's no "adjusting" for anything required here, because literally all of the same Canadians are represented in both years. The only difference is that a lot of people who had a full (1y) chance to die in 2021 when they were unvaxed now got to face 2022 with an 80% higher chance of survival (0.2y), right? So, why wasn't the total number of deaths in Canada down to just 32% of the previous year? Why did it stay basically the same? Please tell me that you understand that vaxing 85% of our population should have brought the total death toll down......

  36. The whole Emergencies Act declaration looks pretty bad now, considering it was all about vaccine mandates, and vaccinating 85% of our country didn't lower the number of covid deaths at all in this country. Turns out that the truckers had every reason to refuse the jab and our gov't had no good reason to inflict it on everyone.

  37. No, we don't. If this was the aboriginals or some trans march, it would have been tolerated for awhile, and then dispersed. Interestingly, the trans community has never shut down the Ambassador Bridge or anything like that, and I imagine you'd have trouble finding any examples of them locking a city core down for three weeks. It's not false. We all saw/read/heard the testimony. Pat King was not the only jerk in that protest. That there's nuance to this and it's not as black/white as you'd like it to be is also...not false. Finally this is not a trial, and even if it was, we are fortunate to have trained judges to determine these things rather than online forum posters with questionable legal credentials. and somehow you don't see the hypocrisy of criticizing others for doing the same thing you're telling us you do here. and again, you fall back to exaggerated rhetoric and hyperbole, while misrepresenting and character assassinating people who don't share the same views as you. That you can complain about all of these things and then immediately do it yourself in the same breath is ...I don't even know what to call it.

  38. Moonbox, the gig is up. We were told there was a safe, effective vax, we were even told by the US CDC director that you wouldn't get infected or spread covid if you got it. Now we know that was 100% bullshit and we're just as done as done can be. We hit 85% vax status and the number of covid deaths hasn't slowed down at all in this country. Death rates for the vaxed are directly proportional to the % of vaxed people here. What's left to see here? If you're not mad at all the vax-Nazis and all their vax promises then you need to raise expectations dude. Way up. Stop being used by people who don't give a f about you, and who just want big pharma bucks.

Striking right now - as in sky-high inflation, making low wages, and offered 1% ? They should wait a few years ? I just did a little math and, compounded, this would be 5.9% real loss year-over-year, compounded to a 25% pay cut over four years. I guess striking right now is their only option.
