waldo Posted May 24, 2016 Report Posted May 24, 2016 What planet are you on right now? poochy, poochy - calm down! Does your fantasy workplace include co-workers acting nefariously toward another? When you simply refer to those co-workers as a benign, uninvolved and detached, "group of people... the crowd", are you crafting a self-serving, selective narrative? You went a long way for that post! Cool story, bro. . Quote

PIK Posted May 24, 2016 Report Posted May 24, 2016 In the new world, white people can not stand up for themselves or you will be called racist. Everyone else can but we cant, that the way it is. What is worse is the white people that agree with it. Quote Toronto, like a roach motel in the middle of a pretty living room.
Big Guy Posted May 24, 2016 Report Posted May 24, 2016 In the new world, white people can not stand up for themselves or you will be called racist. Everyone else can but we cant, that the way it is. What is worse is the white people that agree with it. How can you "stand up for yourself" strictly based on the fact that you are white? Of course that is racist. If blacks "stood up for themselves strictly because they are black" you would be the first to call them racist - For example "Blacks are better athletes than whites" - Is that racist? How about "Asians are smarter than whites". Is that racist - or fact? PIK Posted May 24, 2016 Report Posted May 24, 2016 Start a white tv station and see what happens. Blacks are better athletes then whites and that has been called racist. Most people don't understand what racism means, to most if you disagree you are racist. Time for people to grow some thicker skin and we would all be better off. overthere Posted May 24, 2016 Report Posted May 24, 2016 For the protection of the Opposition members and women MPs in particular, the House of Commons Sargeant at Arms needs to post some armed security guards on the floor to keep people from crossing the floor with ill intent. Only that way can intimidation and bullying by front row thugs be prevented, stopping them from jumping on bystanders and not interfering with the nations business. They should also issue portable panic buttons to all members, not just women, to shout an alarm when they are threatened. Parliament Hill is a dangerous place, especially for women in the NDP caucus. First Pacetti and Andrews, now PM Trudeau. When will this institutionalized Liberal brutality toward women end? Imagine, in 2016. Quote Science too hard for you? Try religion!
Topaz Posted May 24, 2016 Author Report Posted May 24, 2016 Both, members of the Tory and Liberal party have cross the floor in the past or now, but I don't the think has, BUT the NDP were wrong in playing their political games of blocking the Tory Whip from seating down to start the voting. Just like Justin didn't need to cross the floor, the NDP didn't have to block or stall the vote because the Senate is already saying it probably won't pass by June 6th. SO, let punish or warning the members concerned and get on with the work, especially for those dying of cancer or other nasty disease. Quote
PIK Posted May 24, 2016 Report Posted May 24, 2016 Actually topaz it was a stupid liberal motion to take the power away from the opposition parties that caused the whole mess. Not only did his handlers tell him to apologize for the 3rd time to get it right, they also dropped the motion. Quote Toronto, like a roach motel in the middle of a pretty living room.

Fill it with hungry piranha. It would serve two purposes; Keep the members from opposing parties from crossing the floor for a fight (may also discourage reps from changing parties) and providing relief during votes. If a member voted against party lines they could pick him/her up and toss them into the moat. It would also increase TV audience for votes. Big Guy Posted May 25, 2016 Report Posted May 25, 2016 Nick Nanos, the darling of CTV polling just "ate his hat" on TV after promising to do so if Trudeau's popularity continued to increase. His latest poll shows that Trudeau not only did not lose support because of elbowgate but gained because of it. It appears that his actions showed "leadership" and the opposition as "childish". Go figure. Quote Note - For those expecting a response from Big Guy: I generally do not read or respond to posts longer then 300 words nor to parsed comments.

Go figure. No doubt he gained it at the expense of the NDP. They're considered the union-friendly party and not many union types would appreciate the histrionics and weakness on display that day. In the short term I don't doubt that Trudeau supporters got a bit more vocal over that but people are starting to get a better understanding of who he is. He's not getting elected again. kimmy Posted May 25, 2016 Report Posted May 25, 2016 Polls appear to indicate that most Canadians don't care about "elbowgate". I think most people who were aware of it saw it as a bunch of fake, manufactured outrage on the part of the NDP. This poll indicates a solid majority say it was "no big deal" and "we should all just move on". And I still can't get over what a pathetic baby Ruth Ellen Brosseau is. If being bumped inadvertently makes her run away crying, how can she ride public transit? How can she function at all if she's that fragile? I don't know which is worse; either way its pretty pitiful. You suck, Ruth Ellen! You're an embarrassment to women everywhere.
