  1. Not that I agree with the premise of the OP and that Indigenous culture should be considered when doing Pipeline projects. But it is quite ironic that the poster creating the thread is upset that Spirituality is being used to make decisions at a Political level, but will often cite the Bible as evidence for why a certain policy should be pursued or not.

  3. Another word for Oral history is Oral fiction. You know, they do these tests were someone is given some information. They then pass it on orally to a second person, and they to a third and so on. It doesn't take long for the information to get distorted, even when it's being passed on same day. Doing it over centuries from generation to generation is an absolute guarantee that what you wind up with bears only the most cursory relation to the truth.

  6. I honestly don't see how this drag queen story hour/grade 3 sex change BS is supposed to work out in the long run for leftists. In a few years there are going to be thousands, maybe tens of thousands of young adults who were sterilized as elementary school students and completely regret it. The ones who don't kill themselves will have a powerful message to tell about the pressure they felt to conform to woke dogma and the general shortsightedness and wickedness of the prog cult. Some of those kids will be Latino, some will be Asian, some will be black, and their message will carry a lot of weight within the communities that the Dems are trying to brainwash. It looks like a train wreck to me, tbh. I'd personally hate to be the guy who has to look Stewart --> Susan in the eye and say "Sorry I helped you to get sterilized when you were 8. I thought that you had the wisdom and foresight to understand the ramifications of what you were doing, and that I was helping you. Please don't kill yourself."

  9. to cut off the inevitable assumption of WCM.. I got vaccinated simply to avoid having to get tested every week and do a bunch of paperwork. Did I feel some sort of civic duty? No. Was it because I read stuff on CNN/CBC/Facebook? No again The policy at the office was that if you did not get vaccinated by July 2021 then you had to submit to testing every friday at 2 pm at a location in downtown. I chose to get the shots simply to avoid this hassle. Nothing all that complex.

  11. The fact that you're so sure of your beliefs vs other people is the problem. I believe in a God, but that people think that their narrow view of the God is the only one that's right is where we get into so much trouble as a society. I support the message of Jesus, but are we really to believe that if there's mortality beyond this world, that God will only allow those who specifically accept Jesus in Heaven, otherwise eternal punishment? Because that's what the Bible teaches us. These FN beliefs actually seem more friendly TBH.

  12. See, you're disparaging their beliefs all while trumpeting up yours. Who's to say who's right when talking about Religious beliefs? The Bible says a lot of things that we laugh at today. Many principals we do adopt, like a few of the 10 commandments, but not all. Imagine if Dishonesty, Envy or Idol worship was treated the same as Murder by our laws?

  13. Environmental policy is a mess. And our relationship to the FN people is an even bigger mess. Can this stuff be used for corruption, I'm almost certain it does. But again, this is no different from plenty of instances where "spiritual rights" are asserted.

  14. Well you aren't of course. You're lying about people calling for genocide and then trying to attach them to the nazis because you feel that furthers your goal. Very Fascist of you Yep - and was clear he was talking about the political element of it, and noted this would be better for both transgender people and the population in general. He was very clear he was not talking about transgender people. Oh - but that doesn't fit your narrative does it. Better lie about it. Exactly. It's not like that at all. People like YOU - who go around insisting that everyone's a nazi (and then support 'punch a nazi' campaigns) spark that violence. You spread hatred and ignorance and convince people that YOU - a violent hate filled radical bigot who thinks all "others" are subhuman inferiors - are somehow representative of trans people and other lettered people. Sorry but if you're looking for a source of the negativity towards trans - you need to look in the mirror. You can't spread hatred without causing hatred.

  15. The same could be said for all Religious beliefs. Including those derived from the Bible. For example, the idea that life begins at conception is a completely subjective spiritual belief, but so much political pressure is used to have the views of religious people enshrined into law.

  17. It clearly is to most ontario residents - thats what they chose to do in the last provincial election. So it was definitely an option they were comfortable with by and large. They voted for trudeau. And his approval ratings in the area line up with the vote fairly well at the time. So its pretty clear it's NOT that they didn't have options. What conspiracy theories? Who has suggested that trudeau didn't win the election? Honestly you're just making crap up at this point. Trudeau won because people in your area felt that his corruption was acceptable and they were ok with it, so they didn't mind supporting him. Also he managed to convince them that the anti vaxxers were all out to kill them, and once again turned canadians against each other (remember - he was singing a very different tune just 2 weeks before the election.) Well - it demonstrates that the NDP will do anything for a taste of power at this point but as i noted canadians tend to give elected prime ministers at least 2 full terms worth of mandate to work with. So about 8 -10 years. Harper got that and justin's going to get that. Remember - the libs lost three times to harper as well, and paul martin damn near lost his first go around and was held to a minority (propped up by the ndp ) And also remember this - harper got stronger results every election he fought until he lost - trudeau is getting weaker and weaker every election, and hasn't won the popular vote in 2. Ontario and the ndp prop the libs up. But they're not what the majority of Canadians want.

  18. I'm not sure I disagree. I was simply trying to explain the concept of "indigenous knowledge" in a vocabulary a fundamental religious zealot might understand. Then I just attempted to clarify that not all "indigenous knowledge" was supernatural, sometimes they were just about things like how, where and when to hunt I personally don't think any kind of spirituality should be used in politics

  20. do not know about Canadian Government but I work for a state government in the US and the issue is usually that they care so much about efficiency that they are paralyzed. You have to get it right and even if that demands that you take six extra months to do so.. its fine. The bureaucracy is supposedly a way to filtering out unnecessary stuff and getting a refined, efficient result... Well, it mostly does not work.

  21. I think you're over thinking it. I think Jagmeet knew he woudln't ever get to be prime minister so what he's doing is putting forward a platfom that gets his uninformed voters excited and rallies the left wing to him. All he has to do is take enough seats from the libs to keep them in a minority position so that they need the ndp's support - and then he's got power. That's why he always talks about how he'll fight. We'll FFFFFIIIIIIIGGHGGHHTT for you!! FIIIIIGHGGHT! (you wanna fight? I'll fight you right now!) Whereas layton for example talked more about building. You can't make a great country by fighting, you make a great country by building things. But "Fighting" appeals to the left wing youth and social justice warrior types - and he's hoping to get enough of them to win enough seats from the libs to hold the balance of power

  23. "Yet apparently nobody is able to define what indigenous knowledge is." Let me try and explain this to someone with your specific beliefs. The knowledge of the indigenous is much like your Bible, a bunch of oral traditions passed on from generation to generation. The difference is the indigenous knowledge pre dates what your bible claims to be the beginning of time and has not suffered from as much political interference in the last few thousand years

  24. 1) I looked for about ten minutes and couldn't find any of his January/February 2020 video where he described the origin of covid, when he said "We know covid comes from....", but just remember, Google is his friend. If Trump was the one who said it it would be easy to find. I will eventually find it. It's definitely out there. I just looked again, I can't find any video with him saying the word "pangolin" or using the term "intermediary species", but if you can find a video with him saying those things, that's the one. My Google search is bombarded with less relevant videos. https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-11824905/Emails-Dr-Fauci-commissioned-February-2020-paper-disprove-COVID-leaked-Wuhan-lab.html That's about Fauci citing his own study and pretending that it's from other scientists. Not 100% OT, but germane and probably even more important. 2) My point isn't "IT WAS 100% FROM A LAB LAK! ANYTHING ELSE IS IMPOSSIBLE". My point is that 1) it was a massive conflict of interest for Fauci to unilaterally declare the intermediate animal species theory the champion, and 2) for the unholy alliance of the Dems/TNI/Google/Twitter/FB/CNN to ban people from social media for saying "BSL4 lab".

  25. I would add that the NDP motto seems to be make the rich pay or make the greedy corporations pay. This demonstrates their very simplistic view of the world, a complete lack of understanding of how the prosperous free nations have accomplished what they have. If it wasn't for the wealthy who invest all their money in stocks and corporation, there would be no well-paying jobs. That is where all the well-paying jobs come from. But the NDP are completely blind. Unfortunately, the Liberals are moving more toward the left in an effort to gain more NDP votes. Watch the Liberals come out with their budget tomorrow. They will be handing out billions of dollars for everything they can think of.

"The Papists or Laurentian Elite that live in Quebec" turned against Harper and inserted NDP (a short lived but still anti Harper and Trudeau action) In Ottawa, where I live, the Conservatives have not put any candidates up that could entice voters. And the 905, well, they have been liberal for many many decades and do not change. Same goes for out West, no valid conservative candidates so, they went NDP.

  30. Correct. Invest in schools. Invest in transportation. Being poor shouldn't mean poorly educated. I have seen countless schools cut programs like shop courses, and entrepreneurial courses. You're essentially making kids job ready with these courses. Invest in rehabilitation of felons who qualify. The current US prison system profits on crime. Committing a crime and paying your dues, shouldn't destin you to recidivism due to the Scarlett A you have branded yourself with, regarding a jail record. Rap artists teaching you crime and glorifying it, are essentially teaching you how to be a government slave through prison systems. I don't understand how hand outs help. You fix the broken system. Provide opportunity for black families to provide for their families. Handing out cash is like the lottery. Majority go bankrupt within 5 years. Do you know why? Give a drug addict 1000$, what do you think most will do? Give an uneducated family 1 million, what do you think they will do? Wisely invest it? You're pushing for bandaid solutions, and masking them as permanent ones. Ask Aboriginal families how tax breaks and hand outs have helped their communities.

  31. I think a lot of this dumb-assery stems from an overwhelming hatred of Orangemanbad. The Democrats, the DOJ, the FBI, the media, all have bombarded the public with the idea that if you do not agree with and follow the doctrine, you are sub-human and should be in jail. Now...for as absurd as that sounds, just take stock in what's happened the last decade. These people willingly believe the destruction of not just America, but the entire western world, is justified because...Orangemanbad. I wish just one Libbie would find a way to explain this raw hatred and how that justifies what is obviously a series of very bad decisions. Please...someone rationalize this display of self-destructive BS?

  32. Should Jewish people be persecuted for things of the past, or were they just as victimized by it? Where would you put a white person, who is Jewish? Focusing on where America went wrong, ignoring its progress doesn't do anything for anyone. All it does, is create a culture war, where you just turn the tables, and white people are now being segregated against, bullied and shamed for existing. Again, what is the end game to this or purpose? I just don't see what good can come from this. I'm assuming England will take the bill? Or are you going to have tax payers, who have nothing to do with that slavery, foot it? In the name of equality, right? What you're asking for makes absolutely no sense, and is rooted in zero logic. Fix what is broken in black communities, and stop making people believe they're entitled to hand outs. I would vote out any politician pushing for this, vs allocating funds to where they are truly needed. This victimhood of "you know they enslaved us, that's why I can't get a job" type of mindset just confuses me. I wouldn't support the movement, as my first question would be "how many resumes did you send out?" Again, there are currently no US laws holding back black people. None. Problems in black communities, are community based. Giving people in broken communities more money, doesn't fix the deep rooted issues in the community.

  33. Maybe the word 'studies' is used like the word 'science' now...? That's to say that, once it has been invoked (especially without any attempt at substantiating it), to question it automatically makes you a very bad somethingist. "'Science' has determined that questioning science is [insert pejoratives here]." "'Studies' conveniently show exactly what we expected, because they were done at Berkeley or somewhere similar by sciency people in white coats who are unbiased and intellectual. Any evidence to the contrary can be ignored out of hand because the studies are conclusive and infallible. Only a crazy qanon conspiracist/_______ist would even question the legitimacy of the aforementioned nameless studies. Do you want to be called a _______ist? Just try me."

  36. Okay, so investigations are free. My bad. Europeans have destroyed more of this planet than any other demographic, combined historically. Blaming white people (without being specific), is shortsighted and is done to shame and control. Yeah, including white people. What's your point? Not sure what this has to do with AOC, but okay. Am I a slave now? Can I go to school now? Could I make a conscious choice, with my life? So what's your point? Like what's your end game? That I deserve government money? I'm confused. Buying that I'm a victim, is me buying that I'm somehow inferior, and only government aid could help me stand. This is ridiculous. It doesn't help anyone in my community, and in fact, makes the communities worse.

  37. Part of me can't blame people for believing what they see on almost every single news channel all the time, but at some point people also have to notice that Kamala is advocating for violence at some level. Or they should have noticed Fauci's massive conflict of interest once they found out that he funded GOF research on the coronavirus long before he ever casually stated "We know that covid came from a bat and mutated through an intermediary species to become infectious to humans." That reads like "It isn't the virus that I helped create which is killing millions of people!", with the benefit of hindsight. Anyone who can't see that shouldn't be allowed to voice their opinions publicly. There should be an IQ test for people who want to post on social media lol.

  44. Oh, by the way boys and girls. Here is an actual link to this story. Nobody was fired. (Geez! These goose steppers never let up.) https://www.newsweek.com/florida-principal-forced-resign-showing-students-michelangelo-statue-1789976 A school principal in Tallahassee, Florida, was forced to resign because, she said, a Renaissance art lesson included a section on Michelangelo's sculpture of the Bible's David, which one parent described as pornographic. Hope Carrasquilla, who had been the principal at Tallahassee Classical School, stepped down Monday during an emergency board meeting, the Tallahassee Democrat reported. She was appointed to the position less than a year ago. The school board's chair, Barney Bishop, told Carrasquilla that she could either quit or be fired but gave no reason for the ultimatum. She told the newspaper that she believes it was because of the art lesson, saying, "It saddens me that my time here had to end this way." For those who aren't quite that observant, the relevant idea here is "she could either quit or be fired but gave no reason for the ultimatum. She told the newspaper that she believes it was because of the art lesson." So we don't really know if she was asked to resign because of that exhibit. Of course, the goose steppers here probably didn't know about this either: But three parents complained that their children felt uncomfortable with the lesson, which included a section on David, a marble statue of a nude male that represents youthful beauty as well as the Italian city of Florence. It is considered one of Michelangelo's masterpieces as well as one of the Renaissance's greatest sculptures. Gee! The goose steppers here are ready to wage a cyber war if children are uncomfortable with their fcking PRONOUNS but somehow seeing a statue of a NAKED MAN doesn't seem to be a problem. Florida education? We elected THIS: A blue state elected this: You goose steppers have NO room to talk.
