  1. Maybe he figured out it would be easier to turn the Liberal party into actual conservatives than the CPC into ones.

  2. No. You did not give me an authoritative source. You don't get to quote a lwnj and then appeal to authority when your authority is just a lwnj that is promoting the same fantasies you want to be true. I quoted the rulings. If you want to prove me wrong, bring up the actual rulings, like I did.

  3. Nobody was pretending prices didn’t go up during the pandemic and supply chain crisis (which was mostly out of biden’s control btw). But it’s also completely irrelevant to the fact that they were going DOWN before Trump came into office and are going back up now solely because of Trump’s tariffs, not to mention the fact that Trump said prices would go down “on day one” of his term and still occasionally lies that they’re going down.

  8. Carney clearly beat him to it. Probably stole the idea. Poor stupid Conservatives are probably as useless when it comes to capturing an agenda as protecting one. This is 101 election campaign stuff. And Poilievre's failure on both counts is the plainest evidence there could ever be especially to other politicians, how far out of his league he is. Trump would have made mincemeat out of him.

  9. For Canadians, real wage growth has been stagnant for a long time. Policies and markets are conspiring to keep labour cheap, and higher paying jobs scarce. Temporary workers and legal/illegal immigrants are bottom feeding all the entry level employment away. You have cited many instances of crazy fishery management practices that have gutted owners (pun intended) and stifled access to resources. When will that change ? When Canadians take back their country from politicians worshiping feel good performative nonsense. Build it...grow it...mine it...drill it.

  13. That would be before you were born. And let's face it the only thing you're complaining about or saying there's a problem with this harper. You absolutely love the liberals and what they were doing. Thought it was great. And anything Justin did wrong was harper's fault anyway according to you So what you really been doing for most of your life is lying And we know that But the fact is when I said was 100% true. America is doing fine and we are at the absolute bottom of the pile. So it would seem that trump understands the impact of tariffs better than you do. Oh by the way, that inflationary pressure you kept suggesting tariffs would cause? Happened anyway. Canada's annual inflation rate rose to 2.4% in September

  14. Why would I cheer? As always you project, you're the kind of person that would rather see Canada fail than have your belief system proven wrong so you think that everybody else is the same. Just because you would happily cheer if the roles were reversed doesn't mean that I do. I was in fact complaining and pointing out that we have a problem. You were the one cheering for the last decade while the liberals created the very problems we're facing right now and have led to Canada down the path have no future for our kids had a weaker economy, higher crime, lack of international respect, all the good things we're enjoying right now It only gives me pleasure to be right when people listen because then good things happen and I'm happy. It does mean no good to be right when losers like you continue to vote for the liberals and we get what we have now. Disaster

  15. I saw a bit of a Trump interview from CBS or something the other day, the woman interviewing him was trying to act like the prices of everything was up, after 4 years of pretending that prices weren't up under Biden. Your news down there is a cesspool, and I'm not exaggerating.

  17. I've been willing to sit back and watch Trump tariff away at every other country because I read quite a bit of what his strategy is and was hoping it would work out, albeit with some growing pains. But I'm kind of getting to the point of wondering how bankrupting other countries benefits US in the long run? It's like Trump is sitting at a Monopoly board with other countries and just sweeps all the properties, hotels and homes to himself and says "This all belongs to me now." It's a nice thought for the American citizens to get the biggest end of the stick every single time, but at some point, all the other players at the Monopoly board and going to say "F%#@K this guy" and start another game themselves. Like I say, bankrupting and short-shrifting every other country in favour of the US......who is going to buy your USA sh!t when we're all broke?

  18. There's 'overwhelming evidence' tariffs have raised consumer prices, says Bank of America Analysts at the Bank of America said tariffs have raised prices for consumers. They wrote in a note that consumers have covered about 50% to 70% of the cost of levies to date. This suggests tariffs will continue to put "upward pressure" on inflation, they said. Whaaaaaaaaaaat?!? 🙄

  19. Exclusive: BBC ‘doctored’ Trump speech, internal report reveals A Panorama programme, broadcast a week before the US election, “completely misled” viewers by showing the president telling supporters he was going to walk to the Capitol with them to “fight like hell”, when in fact he said he would walk with them “to peacefully and patriotically make your voices heard”. The “mangled” footage was highlighted in a 19-page dossier on BBC bias, which was compiled by a recent member of the corporation’s standards committee and is now circulating in government departments. Apparently this kind of thing is common and this is the problem with the left wing media these days. While they love to pretend that it's the right that changes stories the fact of the matter is the left wise even more. But with their cot the left wing supporters kind of just blow it off has nothing and then scream about how fox is fake news. Really this kind of deliberate editing to create a story that doesn't really exist should be punishable under law. The freedom of the press is the not the freedom of Deliberate lies

  20. This is alarming. But what are the possible solutions? Cut back on programs that Canadians are using now. Raise taxes. Refuse to increase our military spending and risk getting kicked out of NATO. Implement additional pay-per-use policies for government-run services such as tolls on roads, 911 calls and airport fees. Perhaps some of this spending will result in increased future wealth creation (hopefully sooner rather than later) down the line.

  23. PP is actually a smart guy who isn’t scared of a scrap. No party will do well in government right now. I do think it’s important to stand firm on these issues with targeted counter measures even if tariffs hurt us more than the Americans overall, because the important thing is that enough Americans feel the pinch of Trump’s tariff war on Canada to turn voters against him and the Republicans on tariffs against Canada. If Trump realizes that his ability to govern and leave a good or popular legacy is in the balance, he’ll back off for political survival, unless he really doesn’t care about his party or legacy. However, if this is all about animus against Trudeau or Canada, that’s a sign of a serious character flaw that puts America and the world at risk. No man should be in power who makes decisions that impact millions of people’s lives on the basis of whims and ego. We saw the Nero film already. Not good.

  24. Nicholas Maduro is a murderer and a common criminal. His reign has seen mass murders of Venezuelans both in Venezuela and in other countries. What i will always defend is a country's right to defend against criminal activities designed to destroy said country's citizens. And you have no credibility when it comes to "THE LAW". Today the SCOTUS may decide if Trump can impose tariffs. Should he win, that will be the law. Will you respect "THE LAW" then Sweetie?

  30. I think it was less about the impact on consumer products in Canada and more on industrial purchases like machinery, software auto parts etc which was harming business. Not only are Americans buying less Canadian-made products but the Canadian products that require inputs from USA are getting more expensive. Trump and the Republicans holding congress hostage are just ignoring all the massive damage his tariffs and trade wars are inflicting on Americans while he builds his new lavish ballroom. But the governments of other countries don’t have the luxury of being so aloof and corrupt.

  32. Counter tariffs punish Canadians which buy American products, and like most Canadians will find another alternative...so yes it is short term pain for Canadians but only to those that continue to buy American products , and in the mean time Canadians will move on to cheaper products, made some place else... So it does achieve something....Like trumps tariffs are doing, forcing American to buy American products instead of the more expensive Canadian products...in the long run it is the manufactures that will pay on both sides, in the long term trumps tariffs will benefit Americans by changing their spending habits...

  33. The 5 % new target was put in place because so many NATO countries had let slide their spending , it is not goin g to be this high forever, just until everyone starts to get caught up...As for Canada even at 2 % we would not be able to field much more than we have right now, which is not much when our deployment to Latvia is stressing out our combat numbers... Last thing Canadians needs to do is freak out about 5 % of GDP when we have starved DND for the last 30 plus years....we need this to replace the JUNK we have now for much more modern equipment...and while we may not give a shit about current serving members, i want to remind you....if and when a crises does come, it will be your sons and daughters that will be manning that equipment....The world has never been closer to another world war than it is today.... What we should be demanding is Canada start moving on this spending to equip our forces to at least give them a fighting chance when the next crises comes...because it is coming...And like every crises we have faced as a nation it has come at the cost of our young sons and daughters, before we started paying for equipment that saves lives....That fact seems to fly over most Canadians heads...

  34. True, but I liked the trajectory Chretien and Martin set for the country. We went from big deficits to budget surpluses and debt reduction. Harper added some great middle class tax cuts and credits. From the late 90’s to the early 2010’s Canada had excellent fundamentals, including about the lowest debt to GDP ratio in the OECD countries. We skipped the 2008 recession stateside and our dollar strengthened. Trudeau Jr. squandered that by massively increasing the size of government and public spending. He also brought the country into a creepy top down interventionist command economy with a program for everything, often mismanaged and of dubious morality (mandatory pro choice MP’s, expansion of MAID, free birth control, expansion of “safe drug sites”, and all sorts of dubious identity politics around race, gender and sexuality). Invoking the Emergencies Act was the coup de grace. That the Liberals got back into power is dumbfounding. Carney is certainly much smarter than Trudeau, but the spending is worse and bringing us back to the crisis levels of the early 90’s. Trump is indeed killing the Canadian market that buys more U.S. goods than any other country.

  36. I don't know why, but this is not letting me post the link for this article. You'll have to look it up, sorry. The report analyzed publicly available information on every approved carbon mitigation-focused project being financed by the world’s two major multilateral climate funds: the UN-backed Green Climate Fund, and World Bank's Climate Investment Funds. This is 100% grift. Project Analysis and Findings The report evaluated publicly accessible data on every approved carbon mitigation project funded by two of the world’s primary multilateral climate funds: 178 projects from the UN-backed Green Climate Fund and 466 from the Climate Investment Funds, initiated by the World Bank and regional development banks. The authors scrutinized nearly 650 projects against a comprehensive set of criteria, utilizing a computer program that was later verified manually. Reactions from Experts Bert De Wel, who serves as the global climate policy coordinator at the International Trade Union Confederation and was not involved in the report, expressed that the findings reflect the experiences of workers and their unions worldwide. He noted, "Climate finance is determined by the needs of the investors instead of the people affected by the emergency."

  40. Should be obvious, they are people with computers for personal use. Most Business users MUST accept whatever MSoft sells, it's just too hard to change. Besides, tax expenses and depreciation encourage them to just keep buying and paying more and more. Like the corporate 15 computer installation I did in October. They HAD to get AntiVirus software, picked a useless one and bought 15 licenses without knowing each license was good for 3. They HAD TO buy MSoft Office, Libre Office can't possibly be any good because it doesn't cost anything. And of course bought 15 licenses without ever knowing no one will ever use some of the features, that Office Outlook can't be configured to work with their ISP's email and that the Home version was good for 5 computers and did all they required. Or they'd paid me to kill OneDrive on each one so their info wasn't copied to MSoft's cloud and to add Local Accounts rather than log onto MSoft ones. It's one thing to worry about possible snooping into the pics your sister in law sent you, quite another to expose internal company correspondence and blueprints etc. Granted, I push the scenario on everyone. Did you buy a computer and expect it to be yours or just rent it to pay monthly fees for everything and someone else controls it? Then pay me $75 to do that instead of Geek Squad $125+ to do the other. Simple terms: Buy a new Windows 11 machine and you can't even set it up without having internet and signing up for a Microsoft account. There are ways, but it's not easy and they won't tell you. Once you do that, you've given them enough basic personal information. Clicking on all the next steps blindly set you up even more so. Then using that account you set up, it starts immediately saving your files on their server, a tiny space that quickly fills up so they can bombard you with ads that you must buy more for a monthly fee. And it will pester you to use Edge instead of the browser you prefer and reset your saved choice with every update. HTG all OSs work the same way, you point at what you want and you click. The names of the apps and programs may be different but they're all similar. Linux Mint is no harder to adjust to that moving from Win10 to 11 is.

The right wing must feel such an incredible sense of vindication. I do too actually, the path we're on was all quite obvious to people decades and decades ago. The economy has been mucking about bottom of this barrel for some time already - a lot of young people born here have long been subjected to working for next to nothing as apprentices.
