LOL, great. The same folks who refuse to define what a woman is in any meaningful way, so that they can protect dudes who think they are women... are now going to try to define what MAGA is?4 points

I have always been conservative until PP took over. His rhetoric and inability to help make Canada a better place and his dismal house of commons voting record made be abandon the conservatives. He has never proposed any bill. Never left the country to see how we are in the world circles. Never did anything in the house except criticize Trudeau. https://www.greenpeace.org/canada/en/story/69079/pierre-poilievres-voting-record-and-the-politics-of-exclusion/ Had a 28% lead and when it came down to it, the people of Canada saw he had nothing to offer.... he lost the election for the conservatives and even his seat.2 points

Lmao.. ok. So you tried to make it about me and when that back fired you just decided to call them names, as if you are a child. So, here's the deal. You've come down on the side of a known MS13 gang member that beat his wife and smuggled people, massive government waste and a forever war in Ukraine. All because Orange Man bad. You do you slick.2 points

You really don't believe in rule of law or the Constitution. You are all in for a dictatorship. What are you going to do if some day someone decides to come for you or one of yours?2 points

Lets see, if you're wanting to send everyone you don't like to a foreign concentation camp then the thing you would need to do is get rid of immigration courts. Just claim everyone you don't like is MS13 or some shit and kick them out right? No part of the process in your way to question any facts or consider evidence?2 points

They may not be Nazi as of now. But they are using the same, 100% playbook and program as them to get to the power. Lying fascist propaganda deafening all common sense, reason and independent thought in the society.2 points

It's impossible to argue against anything that she said here: she mentioned what Alberta "requires" from the federal gov't, and mentioned a few recent issues: "Half a trillion dollars in investments scared away by federal gov't policies" "Canada dead last in GDP growth" "interfered in provincial matters" "police harassed gun owners" She just went off on ridiculous LPOC policies and outlined their cost to businesses and families here.1 point

To put it simply and succinctly, maga is a political technology of principle-less antidemocratic populism that combines fascist-style massive propaganda with modern channels of spreading the message into the population. It works as this: - Appoint an unconditional diabolical and hellish adversary, then the enemy. There's nothing good about them and no understanding and/or compromises are possible - Fan out hatred and raise the temperature by drumming half-lies, groundless allegations and far-reaching allusions - Avoid and denounce any notion of responsibility, or relation to the reality - Use massive financing of private capital to amplify and spread the message - Promise instant solutions and miracles without any regard for the reality This is maga and it always works the same, trying to undermine and destroy an imperfect but functioning democracy without offering any positive and feasible ideas and ways to improve it. Maga is about destruction and power, power and destruction only and it has no other intent and doesn't understand any other purposes of democratic politics. Maga can try to blend into democratic political process but it's not a part of democracy and in fact, anti-democracy. Maga is a real, present and factual threat to democracies. They need to develop means and instruments to defend themselves against maga. Not in the least in these domains: - Veracity and objectivity of political news. Tight control of foreign ownership. Responsibility for spreading biased false messages. - Strong and immediate prevention of anti-democratic authoritarian tactics and practices, such as threats, intimidation, vandalism, public messages of hate with responsibility up to the level of the party if its leadership fails to denounce and restrict such practices. - Illegal practices, conspiracies to undermine democracy should carry heavy sanctions including fines, prohibition to take public office, etc.1 point

Since PM Carney seems to want to portray himself as different than Trudeau, it would be nice to see what he is going to do about some of the policies that happened under Trudeau. But I have not heard about what changes Carney will make. In this case I am thinking about foreign aid spending which was in the billions per year. From this article, it looks like much of it was questionable and it appears to have had very little affect. As PM Carney is a long established globalist and spent many years mixing with the WEF, Vatican, and U.N. globalists, I have a feeling that billions of dollars will continue to be doled out to the rest of the world every year, much of it without accountability. " The government of Canada’s annual donations in foreign aid to Third World countries is one of the most overlooked issues in Canadian society. Billions of dollars are being shipped out of the country each year under spurious circumstances. In 2020, the Liberal government increased international assistance spending by 3.5% to $6.6 billion, up from $6.4 billion in 2019. It must be mentioned that the outflow of these billions began well before Justin Trudeau came along. Historically speaking, the funding reaches back to Canada’s United Nations affiliation established decades ago. Still, no previous PM has played Robin Hood to 3rd World nations like our current prime minister. To add perspective, our foreign aid budget is more than the Liberals spend on departments of health, the environment and the Canada Food Inspection Agency combined. According to Canadian Taxpayers Federation, foreign aid also costs more than the cumulative budgets of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police and the Canada Border Services Agency. The bulk of the aid budget goes to the Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA)– which has been folded into the Foreign Affairs and International Trade department. All the while, there has been a growing consensus that although foreign aid is well intentioned, it has had little to no impact on the countries it seeks to help. Why would this infrastructure remain in place if the billions are entirely ineffective? Is this not the odd-ball situation of the century? According to Special Inspector-General John Sopko, “billions of dollars in western foreign aid to Afghanistan, including from Canada, has been lost to widespread waste, lax oversight, and corruption. Nobody is really held accountable for wasting the money,” Incredibly, unlike the United States, Canada does not independently audit the money it puts into trust funds for international aid. Why have these circumstances remained static for decades? The answer is one which also applies to Canada’s Multicultural infrastructure– because it employs thousands of people. An entire industry of civil servants and bureaucrats are receiving steady paychecks based on the maintenance of this structure. The result is big government of the variety that the socialist-infused Liberal Party enjoy. To dissolve the status quo is to wreak havoc upon the lives of government and non-profit organization employees. Therefore, it remains. Another reason can be found in what CAP call “globalist optics.” This is the area from which PM Justin Trudeau has accumulated his greatest success as a political leader. Another question nags at the heart: why has Canadian media for decades hidden away the reality of the wasted billions? Just think of the positive impact these funds would have had upon the Canadian economy. No comparison with what similar trips have cost others. For one of the major political figures of Canada to go on a diplomatic mission With three other political advisors and politicians and spend only 10 grand is peanuts. To put it in perspective Trudeau spent a quarter of a million dollars on food in 7 days on his plane in one trip. Although that did include snacks. It's a billion dollar oil and gas industry and a promise with millions of people and they're trying to pretend that $10,000 is this big amount and find some professor somewhere to say how incredibly questionable it is. And the vast majority of the money went to airfare. If you book a last-minute flight you don't get any discounts.1 point

Insane authoritarian madman at the helm, no elected body promoted any of these ideas, invented an imaginary 'national emergency' to personally dictate every single thing. You're starting to foam at the mouth. Calm down I thought you'd make these same statements about Quebec and yet they're every bit as true or untrue depending on your point of view People in the east hate Alberta. They always have they always will. They tend to dislike the west in general. Always have, probably always will And Trudeau spent 10 years abusing the hell out of Alberta. And when the trump tariffs came up the very first words out of the federal government's mouths were well we might have to sacrifice Alberta's oil Sorry, but this is a normal reaction to that kind of crap1 point

What if someone who doesn't like you tells ICE they think you are or are sheltering an illegal. They barge into your home and before you know it ,you or someone you love is on a redeye to el Salvadore. By the time it becomes clear a mistake has been made will you be able to depend on a government that doubles down on stupid when it is shown to be wrong coming to your rescue, or make up evidence to show you were an illegal or gang member in order to avoid admitting it was wrong. I think we both know the answer to that and that is why everyone is entitled to due process under the law.1 point

Quite frankly...none of you really have a point. You have a lot of accusations and made-up chickenshit designed to shock and scare the mindless. But a real and honest point? No. But hey...if your happy acting like that mush-brain @myata...then I'm happy for you.1 point

It says "no person" it doesn't say illegal alien or any other category of person you decide to make up. Maybe they are but that doesn't give the federal government or anyone else the right to ignore the constitution. People who violate laws are guaranteed due process. It's in your f*cking constitution. It's also in Canada's constitution and the constitution of every other country that believes in rule of law and human rights.1 point

It says no person, period, no exceptions. How does one appeal from a jail in el Salvadore? You have a constitution, either follow it or burn it and become a dictatorship where your rights will be dictated at the whim of whoever happens to be in charge.1 point

Good manners? The folks on the political left have no cares in the world for the 1 million aborted children every year, but yeah, sure, lets fake outrage over another Trump troll job. I am not defending this idiocy from Trump. Still, I am certainly not going to care much about the same folks who, 5 seconds ago, were joking about not trusting any priest because they are all pedophiles. The same folks don't care about 1 million aborted babies, now all of a sudden act like the Pope and Catholicism must be revered because Trump posted a stupid picture.1 point

Do people not have the faintest grasp on good manners any more? I don’t have to belong to a religious sect to respect those who do, so if I were a politician I would not have to be told not to mock a recently deceased, widely respected religious leader. Why are people defending the indefensible here? It’s a form of collective madness.1 point

Actually the LPOC support mostly comes from the vax-fascists, not young people. When the LPOC opted to hurt young people in order to protect the most gutless members of the boomer generation, they generated a lot of cultist support from that community. People like ex-flyer and eyeball, who were so terrified of covid that they cheered when our gov't inflicted the pseudovax on young & healthy people who didn't need it, will vote LPOC for life, regardless how much higher they push our homeless population, how much higher they force energy costs, how much harder they make it for young Canadians to buy homes, how much life expectancy dips here, how much more dangerous our cities become. They're banking on the immigrant vote replacing the boomer vote in future elections.1 point

I'm questioning whether even a billon in savings has been confirmed. I don't need a source to ask a question lol. What we do know is that the doge bs has been wasteful--taxpayers paying hundreds of millions to fire and rehire tens of thousands of people. 75,000 buyouts involving 8 months of full pay and benefits (while doing no work). Meanwhile cutting 40% of the IRS which will mean hundreds of billions in lost revenue from lack of enforcement of tax law. And these are just a few simple direct costs.1 point

Who said no other point of view required? If you really think that why are you here offering one? Where was DOGE fired? So, if there were not Trillions in savings any of the savings so far are bad? Oh well...1 point

The First Step Act? You mean the bipartisan (and veto-proof) bill that Trump vocally opposed before his son-in-law persuaded him that it would be advantageous? Opportunity Zones? You mean the opportunity for wealthy people to avoid capital gains by buying up rental properties in poor areas? (This could have worked better if the incentive were for business investment. Alas there's the rub. It's almost all real estate.) And the wealth gap is basically static since the 80s. Small peaks and valleys if you zoom in enough, but it really hasn't budged. That little peak there? It's housing prices. Black wealth is disproportionately in housing, so it got a nudge upward. But it's not new wealth, jobs, income or anything else to signal meaningful gains. Those gaps are largely consistent as well. You're looking at a mirage. Trump is actively destroying DEI efforts, repealing anti-discrimination measures, removing Black history from museums and schools, lionizing confederate generals--and so much more. The idea that he's any kind of friend to minorities in America is downright laughable.1 point

Give up with your foolish love for Canada. Canada is dead. Corney will bury Canada very soon by bankrupting the country and will be bankrupting you also. Canada will soon die on the vine, and it will be all due to Alberta separating from Canada. Thanks to Alberta, Alberta will be giving Canada a nice slow RIP ending. Well deserved and rightly so, Canada. You were once great Canada, but those who voted for Corney did not like the idea of Canada being so great. They voted for it's demise. 🤣1 point

As with most things, I don't think you've thought this through. We didn't have RINOs. We just had Republicans. That's just what Republicans were for many decades. The right wing radicals taking over that party are the ones who are outliers adopting a new name. Right now it sucks to be any American who believes in American values. People who believe in the virtue of the constitution, in checks and balances, in the rule of law, civil rights and democracy in general are not having a very good time, watching 250 years of idealism unravel does indeed suck.1 point
