  1. Two different models of democracy are right before our eyes. Big buck, the number of zeroes rules or the people think, discuss and decide. It's difficult to find an alternative without cutting into the essence. This project makes sense and I think the time is right not only to talk about it but to make real, practical steps. Your medications should cost a fortune yes of course it makes all the sense for you, we have the right to pump lies about smoking, guns, crazy conspiracies with no accountability. Or great transit, high speed trains, low cost food and medications, low cost or no cost education, great diversity, unified rules, thriving business and culture - a staple people expect it across the continent. This is the realities they can set side by side and examined. Eyes and brains, only two things.

  2. Denmark in ‘crisis mode’ after ‘horrendous’ phone call from Trump demanding to buy Greenland 24 January, 2025 Denmark is in “crisis mode” after Donald Trump made a direct play for Greenland in a “horrendous” phone call with the country’s prime minister. The US president spoke to Mette Frederiksen, the Danish premier, for 45 minutes last week and made clear he wanted to place Greenland under American control. Ms Frederiksen told him in their call last week that despite his “big interest”, Greenland was not for sale, the Financial Times reported. Mr Trump then became “aggressive”, according to the newspaper, and threatened to impose tariffs on Denmark unless Greenland was sold to the US. This is an insanity plain and clear as it is and they just shrug it off like nothing much happening. What will they not accept? The decay is complete. The Republicans went to a third world authoritarian cult, abandoning the rule of law and long standing principles in international politics. Denmark is a founding member of NATO. Sane America should not ignore these manifestations of insanity and budding lawlessness. It may only be testing the ground, and most of the Republicans are showing full readiness to fold and applaud.

  3. mostly because the stupids made them forget that they set these all up so the USA could get it's way and then got so incompetent and obstructionist they forgot how. Forgot how NAFTA was so they could sell us more stuff without building factories and jobs here. Forgot the difference between military alliances and Trump Golf Club memerships Forgot the difference between trade deficits and subsidies Forgot how much good tariffs did during the Depression Forgot America First got Pearl Harbour bombed and dragged them into WW2 late. Forgot that they were the ones behind setting up the UN Forgot diplomatic skills that got them UN approval for the Korean War, stripped Britain of its Empire and Ruler of the Seas. Forgot the Suez Crises where they stopped Britain and France from 'taking back' the Suez Canal. Oh how easy it is to just close your mind and swallow the lies and misinformation.

  4. Meanwhile, Putin’s useful idi*t in the White House has : 1) frozen aid to Ukraine 2) reneged on his ridiculous promise to magically end the Russian war within 24hours of being president and now seems to be no longer interested in doing anything other than watching Russia overrun a choked-off Ukraine 3) pledged to withdraw tens of thousands of US troops from Europe during its darkest hours 4) preparing to launch completely unprovoked and unnecessary trade wars against NATO allies, threatening use military or economic force to annex their territory 5) barely found a single critical word for Putin, despite the fact that he throughly enjoys insulting , trolling, shitposting and otherwise criticizing everyone including his fellow Republicans and his own VP and cabinet picks Trumps “America first” foreign policy will only surrender the US sphere of influence to Moscow. Russia, China, North Korea, Iran, Houthis, Hamas and Hezbollah have now all formed a bloc. Russia is also bringing several west African dictatorships into the fold. Helping Russia is helping the others in the bloc even if the Dictator On Day One and his MAGA cult are too stupid figure it out

  5. I visited and worked in Europe and don't care about ideological scares there's all kind of crap for those looking for it. No it's not perfect but here are the staples that you can simply expect across the continent, except maybe in the newest members: - Great public transit - Great food and very affordable too. I have a shock every time I go to a mediocre place with an astronomical bill. 10-15 Euro can buy you a great lunch in most places with a drink too. - High speed trains are common across the continent. 200 km in just over an hour (compare Ottawa to Montreal). - Great road infrastructure. - Free mobility across the Union, to work, live and study. - In many places, low cost or free university education. - You feed absolutely safe in most places I visited. Not a shred of fear for personal safety. - Cheap medications even without insurance one can literally not think about the cost. Yes it's not like a free gift but it's a know how to build societies with more equal and shared quality of life and prosperity. Or we can have trillionaires pumping into our ears while its so great and important for us to pay for their outrageous profits and that's the only way it can be.

  6. It's not the fact that Trump has become a delusional madman that upsets me. It's the fact that so many Republicans bow down to him and let him take charge of what was once a respectable party. It's time for Canada to get together with Denmark and the rest of the EU. It matters little to Trump who the PM of Canada is, or how some are trying to appease him. Trump is hell bent on exploiting our natural resources, and he is prepared to use force to do so.

  7. Simply not true, and that's your answer for everything as to why Justin has failed. No matter what the subject is you try and claim it's been a mess for decades. Our government functioned very well under harper. Minority, majority, didn't matter it functioned well. It function well under chretien. You may not have liked all his policies but the government worked and it worked well. And so on In fact our government has been a fairly well-oiled machine for quite some time until Justin came along. Suddenly the airports didn't work, passports didn't work, problems like crazy with unemployment and so on and so forth programs, everything takes way too long to respond to when there's any kind of Crisis, the rest of the world responds in Hours and we respond in weeks And now, the government is completely dysfunctional even by justin's liberal standards. He has personally crippled us at a time when we needed to be our strongest So no, not for decades. For Justin. And never more for Justin than right now.

  11. People are appalled that Trump would consider slapping a 25% tariff on Canadian imports. Guess who also puts taxes/tariffs on imports from Canada? Why, it's Quebec! That's right. The average taxes on interprovincial movement of goods in Canada amounts to 21%. Our GDP would bump 4-7% if we eliminated those taxes and trade barriers and had free trade among the provinces. But provincial governments - especially Quebec - won't hear of it. The elimination of those barriers would completely offset any damage to the economy of Trump's tariffs but almost no one is even talking about them except as a throwaway line.

  12. Perhaps an appropriate editorial from the G&W. It's time for Canada to Grow up. It may seem odd to say that Canada, the world’s fourth oldest continuous democracy, needs to start behaving like a grownup, but that is precisely the moment in which the country finds itself. For too long, when it comes to the two areas of statehood that most require a firm adult hand – national defence and the economy – Canada’s federal and provincial governments have displayed the self-indulgent complacency of a teenager who tries to get away with doing the bare minimum. This lack of maturity is the result of an over-reliance on the United States for military protection and as a built-in source of export revenues. It has been so easy to do well enough that doing better hasn’t been deemed worth the effort required to get up off the basement couch. https://archive.is/9c6sU

  13. There are pros and cons. https://connectusfund.org/14-european-union-pros-and-cons International cooperation can be a good thing of course, but when it comes to entities like the EU or the WEF, it seems that it comes with the loss of full sovereignty. I read about Poland and Hungary having issues with the EU with regards to mass immigration. Currently those countries are not going along with the EU policy of mass immigration. And those countries are not experiencing the same problems with Islamic terrorism and immigrant crime waves.

  14. Good for your grandparents....Back then the country had their militaries backs, they had the country's full support..which was lost decades ago, today the average canadian does not give a sh!t about it's military or people that served...your an example of that I served this nation, I've seen Canadian soldiers killed or wounded in combat, only to have to come back to our nation and fight the government in court for basic medical needs, I heard our PM tell a soldier we are asking for more than we can provide...this after running one of the largest deficits that same year....Canada pays it's veterans 20 cents on the dollar when compared to WWII vets.... Our government has said to the public the last veterans were from the korean war, and todays vets are not entitled to the same Veterans benefits...A Afghanistan vet who lost both legs to and IED still need to prove every year that his legs have not grown back just to receive his current benefits... I would suggest going to a Veterans affairs website, and read some of the complaints Canadian vets are having or just research how many court cases veterans have still outstanding and then tell me Canada has their backs.... I served my country, for 35 years, been to alot of the worlds sh!t holes....and was under the assumption that if we came home broken they would look after all of us... well not all of us have been looked after....the sad part about it is you and Most canadians already know this, that Canada betrayed us...not the other way around...and sat around and did nothing...just let it happen.... So don't pretend your a loyal Canadian, who supports our military, your just a wanna be...who does not have the qualities it takes to serve...How do i live with myself, i do all right, i take a pocket full of meds to sleep , i have access to free prescription weed, and i volunteer at a private veterans center and local food bank...I'm own my own home , i pay my taxes, and spend my time with my grandchildren, fishing and hunting....What is it that you have done to serve the nation again? ...thats what i thought...your more of a chirper than a do'er

  15. 🤣 Thanks Beave. You just made my day. -----------Merged posts, ugh-------------- What makes you think there's a conservative cult, Aristedes? Is it cultist to appreciate that there were no new wars started under Trump, and that the old wars ended? Is it cultist to appreciate that he led an exceptionally strong economy? Is it cultist to appreciate that he forced NATO members to increase their military budgets? That he supported police? And order? That's what healthy people do you basic ret4rd. Healthy people don't say "Mostly peaceful but fiery protests". Only cultists repeat things like that. Healthy people don't say "Joe Biden is mentally healthy" when he can no longer string 3 sentences together without a teleprompter. Only cultists repeat things like that. Healthy people don't say "Kamala wasn't the border czar" when she was "the border czar". Only cultists repeat things like that. Healthy people don't ignore the fact that the FBI was committing crimes and telling lies for the Dems, and they don't pretend that it's normal to ban the NYPost from social media for telling the truth. Only cultists do things like that. Healthy people don't say "The covid vaccine is safe and effective, and children should be vaccinated for some reason that no one has ever attempted to tell us". Only cultists repeat things like that. Healthy people don't say "It's a pandemic of the unvaccinated" when 86% of the people dying of covid are 'vaccinated'. Only cultists repeat things like that. Healthy people don't say "I still believe that Fauci was primarily concerned about fighting a pandemic that originated in a wetmarket". Only cultists repeat things like that. Healthy people don't say "The covid vaccine keeps me safe, but unvaccinated people can carry covid which will kill me". Only ret4rds and cultists repeat things like that. Aristedes, I'm not just name-calling when I say that you're a cultist. You pretend to believe things that are blatantly false, irrational, and illogical, and you react with anger towards people who present with facts, stats and sanity. I showed you that 86% of Canadians who died of covid were multi-vaxed. Did you even allow your brain to process that information? No, because you're functioning exactly like a cultist. I showed you that 36% more Canadians died of covid in 2022 than in 2021, and 24% more than 2020, after we were 85% vaxed as a country, and the MSM had stopped talking about covid death. Did you even allow your brain to process that information? No, because you're functioning exactly like a cultist. Look at this chart, Aristedes, right from the government of f'ing Canada: That's how many people in Canada died of Covid-1938 in 2020, 2021, and 2022, Aristedes. Hospitalizations were up by triple. So where did all the panic go? You keep on wanting to act like you're rational and I'm a cultist, so why do I have facts, stats and perfect examples, RIGHT FROM THE GOV'T OF CANADA, while you just have snotty insults and discredited CBC propaganda? Run away now cultist. There are nothing but facts here, and you aren't permitted to discuss any of them like an adult. Not a single one. ^^ @Aristides ^^ How's it going, my little cultist buddy?

  16. Have worked a bit with pipeline intrusion detection technology. From 50km away, the good stuff can locate source of noise within a couple of meters and even identify the type and size of approaching vehicles/equipment and then applied force of the intruders's ground engagement tool. Hamas/Hez/Iran could indeed detonate a small nuke on/within their borders but I can tell you with certainty that Israel excells at building and using this technology (behind only UK)

We are going to focus our military on lethality to fight and win wars and deter our enemies. No one is crawling into any hole over here, we are just not wasting our money on BS organizations like the WHO anymore.

  18. Hence the need for guys like Ray Epps to stir the pot, to ensure that the J6 protest crossed a line far enough into the sand that meant the Dems and their propagandist dogs at ABC/the FBI could convert it into another witch hunt against Trump. It's just bizarre that the Dems could incite/cheer on violent protests that led to multiple mass-murders of police and billions of dollars in damages and then try to use J6 to prop themselves up as the party that's against rioting 🤣

  35. LOL This is a joke, right? The entire reason the US should right have abandoned the WHO is because they were already in the pockets of China. The WHO helped cover up for China which led to the global pandemic. China continues to be the largest polluter in the world... Oh no, they are going to do more to join the Paris accords on climate? ROFL Yeah, OK.

  37. As long as Hamas and Iran keep winning the PR war, there can never be more than a temporary cease-fire. Hamas will keep firing rockets and missiles into Israel, and they will keep digging tunnels, and they will keep committing as many terrorist attacks as they can, as long as they can still get university students in NYC to March in their protests. This is just an opportunity for them to refresh their missile stocks.
