Nancy Pelosi Begins Drafting Articles Of Impeachment | Babylon Bee Nancy Pelosi reportedly drafting articles of impeachment against him for his involvement in the 2024 presidential election. "He won, and that's against the law," Pelosi said. "And, quite frankly, he's admitted it. He's admitted to winning the election, but no one is above the law." Though Pelosi no longer serves as Speaker of the House and was unable to cite any specific law or statute Trump had broken by winning the election, she remained determined to follow through on impeaching him again. "He must be held accountable for this heinous crime," Pelosi continued. "This is an urgent matter. We don't have time to deal with citing actual reasons why he should be impeached. That's not necessary. The important thing is to make sure he gets impeached for... something. We cannot let him be president again because that would be very bad for me, and that's illegal." Literally how they think as far as I can tell4 points

America has grown tired of carrying the torch. We understand. It happened. It happened this time not through some terrible calamity, no great recession no desperate decline. It just happened. Boredom. Tiredness, absence of paths forward, dimmed hopes. Well, the reasons and causes can be many but the exam is done and there results are in. They do not lie: about a half of the nation are ready to accept and/or embrace fascism, in the right form if it's wrapped in the right posturing and rhetoric. And one more time: this is the reality. Factual. A half of the nation is ready to embrace fascism. Numbers don't lie. Where do we go from here? Hope for another election? "Better connect with voters"? Will it work better than the last time? Could it? Not a chance. Sleepwalking into the disaster in the hope that things would fix themselves at the very last moment, somehow, is exactly how the world ended up in a big trouble the last time. Back then, to remind, it was a world without nukes, gigantic stockpiles of it and brutal and ruthless totalitarian dictatorships ready to use them to redraw the maps and rules of the world. Someone is frightened to peek out the window? Or will double down on the belief and worshiping of false prophets promising the salvation out of deep throats? And you need those votes, right? So you can't say it, the real state of affairs, the truth and will slide further and down in the vain hopes that will melt and evaporate with each passing day? That would be exactly what you did the last time. Not sorry to break it: it doesn't work. And it will not. One cannot overcome a change and a challenge of this magnitude by ignoring it, looking the other way and playing happy tunes. It would only be an illustration and manifestation of the underlying cause of this conundrum, as always: it rose because nothing was left standing to it. The rules, conventions and traditions of the past eroded rusted and fell apart gradually but surely one by one. And nothing new came up, was built thoughtfully and persistently to replace them. All the way until, out of the blue, one deep throat of a common demagogue - not even a master of the genre as they come, was enough to bring it all down. All the while you were coasting in self-imposed illusion that something drawn on paper could last indefinitely. Even the last chance offered by the time you blew blissfully, without as much as a flicker of a thought. So no, small chance that it would work now. No miracle escapes and cures in these cases. One possibility one could think of is an open national conversation, with a simple, clear topic: should we become a fascist nation? Are we ready to walk this path, from words that were spoken and are a fact now, all the way to reality? Not everyone would like it. Some will try to ignore or rejected with near-infinite number of reasons and excuses. That changes nothing. No election, no miracles will fix this problem easily now, at this stage. And ignoring it will almost certainly help it progress to the final ones. Now that you know it (it was in the book all along but you forgot) it's in your hands to make use of it - or ignore and squander yet again. A free choice. And there would be nothing new in it for the history that can't even recall the number of times it seen it happen. Nothing lasts forever in the entropy world. Things that need to be standing require constant and persistent thought, care and work. How easy to remember it. And so easy to forget.2 points

Even more divisive than what to put on a pizza. You pineapple people can go to hell, BTW. When you have a car with cup holders like this, which cup holder is the driver's and which is the passenger's? I say, without reservation and with full knowledge that my way is the only correct way, that the rear holder is reserved for the driver. This is because the reach is shorter and the driver doesn't have to navigate the passenger's drink. Putting the Driver's beer in the front cupholder is just dangerous. ***LIBERALS*** THIS IS A PARADY THREAD. RESIST THE URGE TO BE YOU. YOU CAN DO IT. RESIST THE URGE. ***LIBERALS***2 points

George Clooney taking step back from politics after being made a 'scapegoat' for Kamala Harris' loss | Daily Mail Online George Clooney feels he is being used as a ‘scapegoat’ in the furious blame game over who could have cost Kamala Harris the election – and will take a step back from politics The Hollywood star, 63, threw his support behind Harris after penning a blistering op-ed on why Joe Biden would cost the Democrats the win if he didn’t abandon his campaign, but it still wasn’t enough to prevent an historic victory for Donald Trump. Clooney has since been criticized by Democrats for his influence during the election, with some claiming Harris' loss was his fault. LOL Bad news to all you Celebs who pushed Harris - the left tends to eat it's own when things don't go it's way nom nom nom...2 points

The Blue Bombers look to get revenge for their 2022 loss against Toronto. Winnipeg started off with a pathetic 2-6, before turning things around and going 10-1, to finish 11-7, good for 1st place in the west. Tje Bombers continued their winning ways, destroying the Saskatchewan Roughriders 38-22 in the West Final. Toronto upset the first place Montreal Alouettes in the East Final. Toronto is a good team, but they lost their starting QB, Chad Allan, who is considered the best QB in the league. Winnipeg has the advantage, and will be ready next Sunday in Vancouver!1 point

No, your posting links without any thoughts of your own is easy. I actually made an argument, you can't come up with a response, so you do what you do instead.1 point
-
The very problem you are sitting here claiming you are solving. That there is some need for language to clarify what a real man is. No, we already have that language. Men are men and trans people are trans. Posting links instead of actually engaging in a real argument is easy too. Wikipedia is not substantiation. Certainly is not any research, nor is posting links and spamming other peoples words persuasion.1 point

This is comical. You are now going to pick nits on what constitutes a "formal" commitment as you are here arguing over Trump not saying a magic phrase that is neither a formal or informal commitment NATO members all agreed upon every new elected leader uttering. Give me a break. That aside, the 2% commitment is still in fact a commitment NATO members have agreed to several times starting in 2006 and again in 2014. Because actually spending $$$ on your military is what makes NATO strong. It doesn't matter if Trump comes out and says the magic words every day of the week for 8 years straight if no one has a military capability actually to contribute to that common defense. Sure dude. You are here arguing about how much Trump uttering magic words matters while ignoring Trump pushing people in NATO to actually increase spending on their military... Sooo much rhetoric. Like how they redefine words. Again, being emotionally centered, they use words based on the emotional response rather than the actual definition. Example: fascism makes them angry and Trump makes them angry, so Trump os fascist. But fascist centralize power, seek control over the citizenry and engage in imperialism. Trump decentralized power, reduced regulations and withdrew from forever wars. That doesnt stop them though. Fascism = bad = Trump so Fascism = Trump. But it is also fun to see them finally realizing taxes are paid by the end user. Granted, they don't take the next logical step (because that step isn't emotional) and talk about the additional revenue the government generates, the jobs that are created/saved or the environmental value in not shipping goods thousands of miles. I guess the environment only matters when it is needed to restrict capitalists.1 point

Wow. They just don't learn. They lost the male vote after running around calling masculinity toxic, but those things aren't related right? They lost the middle of the country after calling it fly over country and saying those people cling to their guns and Bible. That was just a coincidence. They lost Hispanics after claiming you all are just as unique as your breakfast tacos. ¿No puede ser? The lost black men and women after claiming they wanted more weed dispensaries. They lost the middle class after telling them they were to stupid to understand the economy was awesome. I guess those $7 tubs of butter are actually cheap? But, yeah, it is Looney Clooney's fault. (That was is middle school nickname. I made it up, but it tracks so I am going with it.) Insulting large voter groups couldn't have possibly been the problem.1 point

I thought that one went without saying... I actually pared the list down so as not to challenge Herbs attention span. And yes, certainly, some Dems are selling it as causal and they have a point. But ionically (and speaking personally) , it's about the only factor I (might) have had the capacity to forgive had there been a rational exit plan up for consideration. I could have acknowledged that she was the VP, not the POTUS and cut her some slack because of it. During the campaign it was the elephant in the room though, and that poor elephant was wearing a miniskirt and lipstick in a failed attempt to get a dance partner... it was hungry for something more substantial than salad and it starved to death waiting.1 point

After several friendly fire accidents by US air support i did pray to the big guy more than once "i wish we had Canadian air support....And i will also be the first to say i owe my life to those Yankee flyers, on more than one occasion... On the helo side, been dropped off by some of the craziest Canadian Chinook pilot that could balance that bird on the side of a mountain, with just the ramp on the ground....saving us from humping all the way up the mountain....trust me with a ruck weighing in at over 120 lbs in was well appreciated....1 point

That's a Dem accusing Trump of fascism. You've seen that meme 10,000 times since 2015 and you finally got your chance to use it, only it isn't applicable now 😉1 point

I don't get why you don't believe this, this is literally what you have been telling us was going to happen if Trump gets back in office. Well buckle up buttercup.1 point

LGBTQ communities will get their rights and freedom and nobody can prevent this from happening. It is human rights to choose their lifestyle and no one's business how others choose to live their lives. That said I am against teaching of sort in schools or any kind pf gender change related medical intervention for anyone under the legal age of 18. An adult person can decide for self. I am also against sharing of bathrooms and changing rooms among different gender. Only those born as female should have access to female bathrooms and changing rooms.1 point

The republicans now control the house the senate the courts and the presidency and those FEMA losers are in the unemployment line How's that Darwin thing working out for you?1 point

Thank you for recognizing that in todays combat or fighting situations it is not just Army, let alone foot soldiers that are involved. The Military has always assisted and supported the fort soldiers otherwise they truly would be "foot" soldiers The vehicles and all ancillary equipment and weaponry was brought to them by either the Air Force or Navy. In todays military, the "foot" soldier plays a significant role but, Air Force, drones, satellites and even Navy has a major role as well. I dare say, Air Force deployment and support and transport is more evident now than soldiers on the ground. Had to get the Boys in Blue in this discussion1 point

That's just ignorance and stupidity. Did Kennedy enforce a naval blockade ( or "quarantine") of Cuba for no reason? Nukes in Cuba was an unacceptable treat level just like NATO in Ukraine. And don't fire back with something stupid like "NATO in Ukraine is no different from NATO in Estonia".1 point

No I think he's just an a**hole who toes the party line from his side.1 point

I guess it's easier for you to avoid the issue than deal with the cognitive dissonance involved with supporting a party that wants to hand Ukraine to Russia.1 point

Your reading comprehension is as shitty as your critical thinking skills if you think that's what that thread was about. Again, if the GOP gets its wish and pulls aid from Ukraine, why would Russia settle for the eastern bits instead of the whole damn thing? The point of this invasion was to end Ukraine's existence as a sovereign state, no reason to think that's changed. But again, you're a Putin dickrider so that's a great outcome for you.1 point
-
lmao, pulling Ukraine funding has been the Republican Party's stated policy preference for ages. Trump himself has refused to commit to maintaining support. Just what the hell do you think is gonna happen here?1 point
-
Invasion was plan B. Internal coup while Trump sat on his hands was plan A but they couldn’t get the deal done in time what with Trump being impeached and under scrutiny for threatening to cut off aid to Ukraine1 point

Counterpunch is a far left website. You are only aligned with them because they are anti- military while you are only anti-opposing Putin. The ridiculousness of the article is to pretend that this conflict only dates to 2021 and pretends Putin’s invasion in 2014 and Georgia in 2008 never happened.1 point

Curious how you can square your support for Ukraine with your support of a leader who will ensure its defeat.1 point

I think most reasonable people would prefer peace. The problem is Hezbollah, a proxy for Iranian foreign policy against Israel (among others), has been launching attacks at Israel. That's a clear act of war. Israel would likely be attacked by them less had they not illegally occupied the West Bank and the Golan Heights. Israel would not have occupied the West Bank and the Golan Heights had Israel not been attacked by its Arab neighbours in 1967. I could keep going for 1400 years.1 point
