  1. And you think Trump could do that? Donald Trump? Yes we all remember how united the U.S.A was when Trump was President. Jesus you must really think we're as dumb as you are.

  2. https://nationalpost.com/news/politics/why-poilievre-is-distancing-himself-corporate-canada The Conservative leader is ditching the traditional business luncheon circuits in Ottawa, Toronto or Montreal to speak directly to voters Traditionally, the Conservative Party of Canada, seen as the party closest to business groups, would meet with big banks and various chambers of commerce to get their message through to Canadians, said Dimitri Soudas, who was the director of communications to former prime minister Stephen Harper. Not anymore. Poilievre has been bypassing those events and instead speaking directly to blue-collar workers and union locals to get his message through. “We never did that (before),” said Soudas. On Friday, Poilievre told a full room of CEOs and lobbyists at the Greater Vancouver Board of Trade that he would be doing them no favours if he is elected prime minister and said that they would have to convince not just him, but Canadians, if they want to see policy changes implemented. He also slammed “utterly useless” corporate lobbyists in Ottawa, which he claimed are more interested in dining with cabinet ministers than working for people on the ground, and told corporate leaders to “stop sucking up” to the Liberal government, which he said is “doing the damage to our country.”

  4. The truth is it's usually the liberal party who's been the biggest friend to big buisness, but the conservative party (PC's anyway) have always been in there too. PP has very successfully rebranded the CPC as a "party of the people" as corny as the term is. That's why he's stealing ndp votes and union votes as well as PPC voters and those on the right. Trudeau was able to harness his 'star power' and stagemanship effectively but he's only a decent campaigner. And when his socks stopped wowing people he slipped badly in the polls and has done poorly since Harper was just horrible in campains. But he got results - and that kept him getting stronger gov'ts. PP However - This guy is probably one of the best campaigners that Canada has seen - the first Trudeau is the only one i can think of that comes close and even he never swept the country (of course he didn't need to). He is winning in EVERY demographic and in EVERY part of the country other than quebec where amazingly he's in a tight three way race. And i suspect he's actually going to be an effective leader and will actually also get results. Put those two together and this guy could be in power for a while

  5. It’s truly frightening what the Trudeau regime pushes to legislate. Bill C-63 is the end of free speech. Bill 376 is the end of freedom of religion. Any view that someone dislikes can be viewed by some as hateful. Really we need to get away from the idea of banning “hate speech”. Speech isn’t violence. Threatening violence isn’t okay and there are already laws to prevent that. There are laws to protect children from online harm and revenge porn, but they must be enforced. There are ways to prevent people from being targeted by verbal insults that don’t require speech bans, jail terms, and fines. Employers and institutions have codes of conduct. Parents can prevent young kids from having cell phones or going online unsupervised. So can schools.

  6. Canada is creeping toward becoming a Communist state. "The Liberal government’s proposed Bill C-63, the online harms act, is terrible law that will unduly impose restrictions on Canadians’ sacred Charter right to freedom of expression." I chaired the Human Rights Tribunal. It has no business policing 'hate speech' (msn.com)

  13. The full video is available here. If you want to be propagandized watch this video. The propagandists in this video act like the gun shouldn't have been drawn, and they don't show all the clips of G F pretending that he can't breathe. What do we learn from this video: 1) Clearly the incident got off on the wrong foot with George Floyd refusing to show the arresting officer his hands: George kept his right hand hidden from the officer's view, down by the passenger seat. The officer asked George to show his hands multiple times, then drew his gun for his own safety. 2) The officers determined early on that Floyd was "on something". His bloodwork says that he had covid, plus he had Fentanyl in his system. He also had marijuana and methamphetamine in him. 3) He was carrying on saying "I can't breathe" and acting like he was dying from the time he was arrested, even when there was nothing at all restricting his breathing. It's not surprising that officers didn't believe him when he was on the ground. 4) Floyd was resisting arrest the whole time. Takeaways: 1) It's 100% clear that AG Keith Ellison (in true, divisive Dem fashion) only allowed incendiary footage to be released, and he kept somewhat exculpatory video under lock and key. All this while his city and state were experiencing violent riots, arson and looting. The property damage was in the billions of dollars. I don't say it's completely exculpatory because Floyd died when he should't have, but this video clearly illustrates a situation where the police couldn't get Floyd into the car, they had to restrain him on the ground, and they had every reason not believe him when he said he couldn't breathe. 2) If Floyd had just been reasonable and allowed the officers to do their job he would have eventually arrived home safely. The officers were calm and just trying to do their job. They didn't say or do anything racist. 3) With the new video in, the rioting looks even more ridiculous. An investigation into the incident is still necessary, but AG Ellison might have ruined any chance of getting a guilty verdict when intentionally selected the worst video possible to release while hiding the mitigating circumstances from the public. The entire juror pool in the USA has been prejudiced against the police now.

  14. How many MILLION illegal aliens are in America today? Most of us want those animals deported. But I'm willing to compromise. 1. Legalize ALL of them. Amnesty, but 2. They have the same status as convicted felons (since they ARE criminals.) They do NOT have the right to vote, in county, state or federal elections. (There is NO constitutional right to vote for an illegal alien.) 3. If any of those animals want to be able to vote, they must leave the country and get in line with the LEGAL IMMIGRANTS who are waiting to LEGALLY come to this country. Okay, goose steppers. Tell us why you would oppose this.

  15. https://vancouversun.com/news/local-news/can-driving-electric-vehicle-save-money-ubc-researchers-crunched-numbers Here's how much — and how long — you'd have to drive to make an electric vehicle worth the money, according to UBC researchers The farther you drive and the longer you own your car are key to determining if an electric vehicle will save you money compared with a gas vehicle, according to a new study by researchers at the University of B.C. British Columbians must drive an average of 64 kilometres a day for seven years to make the costs associated with an EV break even with the costs associated with the same model gas car, said Bassam Javed, a sessional instructor and PhD candidate at UBC. While the “break-even” point between EVs and gas cars is 64 km a day in B.C., the numbers vary widely between provinces. In Nunavut, where electricity rates are higher, you would have to drive 181 km each day for an EV to be the cheaper choice. In Ontario, it’s 88 km. Given that B.C. drivers travel an average of about 34 kilometres a day, according to Statistics Canada, the study found an EV costs about $8,000 more than the same gas car over the average seven-year lifespan of the vehicle.

  16. I asked USAMan (former cop) on the SD site why Chauvin thought he could get away with killing Floyd ON TAPE, and he didn't know. I think it's obvious that Chauvin believed he had the backing of his Union and that was strong enough to protect him. It is clear evidence of a culture of CORRUPTION in the MPD. At least USA admitted there is a blue wall of silence.

  17. Increasingly it seems that our society would be leaps and bounds ahead if our Feds stopped governing and drafting new legislation several years ago. All of these bills are so obviously bad that it would be better to have stopped passing bills altogether than to attempt even to modify these bills. Our next government needs to drop the activism and get the basics right.

  18. So you figure PP will tell Canada that Canadians want fewer services, and that their bosses should pay even less tax, like you suggested here? Tax the rich less and no more freebies is the answer people will go for and they'll elect politicians that agree.  Your buddy justin has shown the country that taxing the rich is a fast way to go broke. They'll have even more if we stop wasting their money on poor people.  The middle class has realized when you tax the 'rich' its the middle class that suffer and they're done with that. Says the guy who'll now spend the rest of the day derailing his own thread.

  19. Sounds good. Lets hope he does some serious damage to a government's capacity for being sucked up to. All he'd have to do is tweak the Lobbying Act. He could easily do this within a month. In fact there's nothing stopping him from proposing that in-camera lobbying be outlawed at any time. Force the Liberals to say no and defend the secrecy they and their corporate sponsors/buddies presently enjoy. If he doesn't then I'll be leaning towards concluding its a sham as well.

  24. That’s impressive. He sounds like a Stoic. If he can remain his own person, speak his mind, and advocate for prosperity and constitutional rights, he may have a long bright future as PM. The rot sets in when politicians become beholden to special interests and create sinecures for cronies. Trudeau has inflated the size of government by 40% and increased our debt by as much in 8 years. His government is obsessed with creating and imposing expensive government programs on the population when they can’t get the basics of federal government responsibilities right: issuing passports, running the Indigenous file, procuring for the military, etc. Poilievre will have to slash spending, eliminate carbon taxes, and ban DEI/woke shit. If he does these three things alone, he will be successful.

  32. This is a prime and complete illustration how it works: first, they turn off their brain, not the automatic functions maybe like feeding and breathing, but the thinking part. Eyes too. Then in the place of a thought (with alive, real people) they stick a coined phase, empty words a placebo with zero meaning. "Negotiate" with a psycho. "Ceasefire" with a hitler. No thought, nor checks with reality is possible. Just keep shoveling it and hope that a million of sh*tloads of zero meaning could add to anything. Will it, could it? Of course not. A second-grader already knows.

Once they thought Putin slighted the holy Hilary Clinton by getting Trump elected the gloves came off and they decided to do what they do with every obstacle they face, throw tax money at the problem in the hopes Ukraine will fight Putin off. Come on they would never enlist and fight them on their own, they will just write checks with other peoples money to handle it.

  43. Low birth rates are an issue in all developed countries, including China. I don't understand the animosity toward the EU. It has been responsible for the longest period of peace in European history. The whole principle behind the EU is that if you bring people closer together the more they have to lose and the less likely they are to try and kill each other. So far it has worked very well.
    1 point
  44. Of course it depends on your point of view. The French Revolution, like most wars, was a tragedy. The issues were already underway to reform the political system to create a constitutional Monarchy. You under estimate Napoleon's contribution to society. He modernized the delivery of healthcare, science and brought in the metric system. Immigration is a Christian act. There are millions of people who are living in regions of the world that are no longer habitable. The are leaving a life surrounded by poverty, chaos and violence. They have to go somewhere, and Europe is the logical destination. Would Jesus turn away anyone in need? The mass migration from the south is only going to increase into a tsunami of humanity. MAiD is a choice that each of us should be able to make. It is a matter of freedom of choice. To take that freedom away is socialism. The issue of women's right to reproductive choice has been argued to death. The issue of sending western troops into Ukraine may be a signal to the tyrant Putin that his actions are going to lead to War. In the absence of American support, it is now up to Europe to ensure Ukraine's freedom and independence.
