  2. No one was killing "babies" under Roe, dick-head.

  3. They had 50 years to codify Roe and didn't. Our Congress is lazy and they don't want to deal with anything that is controversial so they use it as a wedge issue but never do anything about it. It is the very reason the President has way more power than he should because Congress is like "whew, he made the decision" either a. they can attack him on it but never do anything about or b. praise him and not do anything about. Lets face it Congress largely stopped really legislating years ago and let the President do whatever he wants and then uses the Supreme Court to maybe stop him when he does something they don't like.

  5. um, do you guys read anything you cite? i mean, beyond the headline? '“Zoom remains committed to DEI and ensuring its principles remain firmly rooted in our DNA across our entire company.” ' "Too often, when companies are forced to trim headcount, DEI jobs are among the first to go." not defending it per se... but KPI's that drive profit are going to be hard to nail down. so it'll be one of those things that go first if you are just trying to keep the lights on.

  6. Good, DEI is awful and incredibly racist and creates the opposite effect than they anticipated when it comes to race relations in the workplace.

  7. The problem the government has (and especially with anything advanced or tech-related), is that high-performers and those with the most expertise have no interest in working for the bureaucratic public service, even if the benefits are wonderful. As a result, the public service is chronically short of actual expertise and know-how. For something like ArriveCan, the people on-staff in the public service are so woefully inadequate to the task that they wouldn't even know where to start on something of that scale, or where to even find the people who would, nevermind managing and directing them. This story begins and ends with a bloated, ineffective bureaucracy being bureaucratic and wasting our money, and our time.

  9. So, what do you think Putin will take from Trump's comments? You really don't think it will be an encouragement? Putin is the one who made European members increase defence spending, not Trump.

  10. That's what I thought until I saw Black Dog's posts in the "Mopey Leftists" thread earlier today. I suddenly realized that I had never even thought about what the penis area on the Trump squishy should tase like. I didn't know there were options. Here I was thinking about the huge smiles on their faces the day they got their emotional support buttplugs, I had no idea that the tase of Trump's dick would set them off. Could I get sued if it doesn't taste right? Didn't Trump already get sued for that by someone? @Black Dog, when you get your Trump squishy, what do you want the penis area to taste like? Don't say "yuuuuuge" because that's not a flavour and there won't be an actual penis on it. You'll have to get that doll from @robosmith, if he's even selling any of his.

  11. I know drinking and driving is a provincial matter, but in" BC GO figure"we have a special case here his a guy working on his 22 nd charge...yes that is right 21 times before that he was charged and convicted of drinking and driving...he has spent a total of 9 years in prison...he has been charged with hurting someone in a car crash, and yet he continues to operate a motor vehicle, while impaired...maybe it is just me or do we really need to tighten the laws up in this case? not just provincially but right across the nation... How do things get this bad... I had a guy that used to work along side of me have 9 charges and i thought that was crazy, but this case takes the cake, plus supper as well. one would think after the 10 th time...the government would have atleast seized his car, or made him pay an outrageous fine..or given him a lengthy prison term...Nope we have to wait until they kill someone...This particle laws suck in all these cases...I guess when cars drive themselves is the day we will have solved this problem... ‘This is what takes innocent people’s lives’: B.C. man receives 21st conviction for impaired driving | Globalnews.ca

  12. So you don't think there's any kids out there whose parents might abuse them if they find out they're trans but not otherwise? This problem is vastly overstated and is not what we're talking about here, which is social transitioning at school. But that's all we've talking about! No one is saying teachers should buy kids hormones or anything like that. Also lot of right wing types think any instruction about sex of gender of any kind is brainwashing so I don't put a lot of stock in these "they're pushing gender" narratives. I agree there needs to be more and better research on the relationship between gender questioning, other mental health issues and domestic abuse. But (see next point). What it boils down to for me is I don't think teachers should out kids to parents against their wishes whether the kid is gay, trans, ace, enby or whetever. IDK, I only see one side using the coercive power of the state to enforce gender norms.

  15. So committed they fired all the staff. Gotcha Because it's useless and does not do anything positive for the business other than some mindless virtue signalling. Yes. Development matters. sales and marketing matters. DEI is utterly useless and in fact frequently makes businesses less competative. So it gets the axe first. The thing is that trend will tend to coninue. Zoom will likely be more successful and competative as a result, and other companies wanting to compete with them will have to step it up as well and that means trimming the fat. When things get tough companies cut the bullshit, and DEI is bullshit.

  21. Still a long way to the election and the campaign is really going to matter. But - there's no doubt that Trump has the advantage right now strongly. He's got good polling but more importantly he's got momentum. Momentum cannot - CANNOT - be underestimated in political campaigns. Those with positive momentum tend to keep climbing and growing stronger and it requires less effort to maintain that and those with negative momentum will tend to sink and it requires much more effort to correct that. (as justin is finding out). So it's looking good for trump right now but a lot can happen in the next 8 and change months. We will see if he can maintain it. The one big problem for biden is that he's going to have to do something to really 'wow' people to break out of his slump. HE's already spent all the money, done what he can do, and i just don't see where he's going to pull a big 'win' out that's going to make people think 'gosh maybe he really IS good for us"

  22. From the article: You would think that anyone alive today, and having the privilege of living in the United States, would be filled with amazement and gratefulness. And many are. But not the progressive left. Over there, they somehow find an endless supply of smaller and smaller and less and less significant grievances to be furious about. The more privileged they are, the angrier they are. Take the student body of an Ivy League university. That’s about as privileged a group as you can find anywhere in the world. And yet those people are furious beyond belief. Bingo! They define their status within their cult by their ability to virtue signal, whine and accuse, that's it. The flimsiness of an accusation doesn't even matter to them, their sole criteria for meeting the burden of proof is "Do I dislike the accused?", and at that point there's a huge prog-race to see who can be the most outraged by it. Eg, whether or not the "perp" in this story is likely guilty has nothing at all to do with evidence or logic, it's all about the accused: I was out walking in 4” heels in late fall or early winter of 1995/96 when I met a famous guy as we were going into a dept store. We talked for a few seconds and then he asked me to model lingerie for him, and I agreed. He picked something out and we went into the change room together, and as soon as the door was shut he pushed me against the wall and started kissing me. I pushed him away and giggled. Then he pushed me against the wall again and grabbed my **** and I giggled some more. After that he stuck his penis inside me, so I pushed him away and ran out. No one heard it or saw anything, and I never reported it to the police. I was raped by _________. There are 137 words in that story and none of them matter at all when weighing its merits: all that matters is the name on the bottom line. If progs like the accused then the story is farcical and the accuser can legally be called a "narcissistic loony toon", if they hate him then the story constitutes incontrovertible evidence of guilt, the accuser has protected status, and it's the duty of all progs to show their devotion to the cult with displays of outrage.

  23. Sigh. I doubt anyone does. but sure - media bias isn't a thing, it never changes and it appeared out of nowhere and did not exist betwen the 1900's and five minutes ago. That makes sense.

  25. At last one intelligent response that even relates to the subject. Churchill, Marxism, as per usual no one can reply to the subject. The fire downtown, the murder in Surrey, the car crash on the Ironworlkers bridge, if it's gonna rain overnight so roll up your windows or if tomorrow's a snow day, who won the game -all leftist communist biased MSM lies. So say the brain dead. I do know one woman who doesn't watch the news because it's 'too biased'. Still hot as hell in her fifties but dumber than most teenagers. She has an app on her computer screen that tells her the current weather even though there's a window behind he monitor.

  26. No, he is saying to Putin, fill your boots because maybe I'll do nothing. Putin has forced them to pony up because of his invasion. Poland isn't increasing its defence spending to 4% GDP because of something Trump said, neither has Germany doubled its spending because of something Trump said. Finland and Sweden aren't joining NATO because of something Trump said. All of this happened after Putin invaded Ukraine.

  30. So, if you think that the possibility of a centrist media that strives for mainstream audience is nil, why is that? There was ostensibly such a thing for almost the entire 20th century. Of course Chomsky and others would disagree, but we're taking about the general public using and trusting media. I'm not saying that you are wrong, just wondering what changed here. Also I should point out that CTV was started by Conservative sponsors as a response to CBC.

  31. A good example: Far right religious zealots banned Bud light beer after Bud congratulated a trans woman on her one year "transition" anniversary. Your fictional Bible demonizes gays. Leviticus 18:22 ... “You shall not lie with a male as with a woman; it is an abomination.” And now here you are, denying your imaginary pos god demonizes his own creations. "Every dimension of religiosity has a positive relationship with rejection of homosexuality. Those who adhere to any denomination more often attend religious services and have stronger religious particularistic beliefs, or those who are more religiously salient do reject homosexuality more strongly. Sobel tests and bootstrapping procedures indicate that the relationships between the dimensions of religiosity and rejection of homosexuality are partially explained by authoritarianism and traditional gender beliefs." https://www.tandfonline.com/doi/full/10.1080/00918369.2018.1522809

  39. When someone is asking a brutal bully to attack innocent victims and a mob cheers and applauds, there's only one kind of cluelessness here: by those who turned off their brains, integrity everything for a direct feed to the cult Idol. Yes people do that. They do it again and again. You're boring useless shells filled by smoke and lies and you chose it: nobody else, there wasn't a reason, cause or necessity, this time around. No regrets and no sympathy, this was a dumb, brainless choice. We have to show and tell it for what it is now, clearly, painstakingly because giving in to group insanity is never an intelligent choice and will always have dire consequences. Including the converts of course but they wouldn't see it because all sense and the brain that processes them are switched off. Four billion years of evolution for nothing: wasted.

  40. nobody is "solely" responsible for this. the US has a large immigration population and those people are sympathetic to the immigrant plight. the situation has not been improving economically or politically in the south. i myself am appalled that there is no discussion in the US about what to do about that... about preventing the conditions that make people need to leave where they are from. additionally, a large segment of the population do not want people dying crossing the border. these are the people you need to be convincing that there is a better way. replacing Biden doesn't make any of that go away. you can treat immigrants as harshly as you like. separate children indefinitely from their families for example. if you think thats the thing to do then you need to convince your neighbour its a good thing. or that its necessary. but if you look like an uncaring ahole then... you might not care. but it gets you nowhere. moving forward does not happen.

  42. It has already been determined by experts in the energy field that we can barely handle current levels of draw on the grid, add to this a weather event it puts our grid in crises mode, example Alberta's grid during the cold snap. Add to this our current population growth of 1 million a year, and yes our demands are going to grow not shrink by a lot... Not to mention the addition of EV vehicles, that will put additional demand on our grid...A grid that is already struggling to provide basic services...solar and wind have limitations in the power they can deliver, and in some case they provide little to no power. Nuclear energy has grown leaps and bounds new SMR energy, is much safer, and can be scaled down for a small town or added to for larger cities, providing cheap energy to those that are reliant on fossil fuel for energy, places like Alert NWT where fuel is flown in twice to 3 times a year, from Ontario...or other communities in the NWT where fuel is chipped in when it can be in the summer...or in your town, if they use some sort of fossil fuels...we still have coal burning power plants, or ones that use funnance oils...Any ways i thought the entire objective of this climate crises was to reduce our carbon emissions, but when certain options present themselves climate pros turn their nose up at it... Which means it not much of a crises is it...or perhaps they changed the meaning of crises ?
