  1. So the goal is pure anarchy? Paralyze the political system. For perspective sake there are 20 of 400+ members holding up the entire process. That is not representative of America. It's a small fringe that's holding the rest hostage. And who will be hurt by all this. It's the GOP members from swing districts that won by narrow margins. Lauren Boebert could be considered amongst them. No way she wins another General election after this.

  2. Canada has a one-China policy and does not have an official foreign diplomatic post in Taiwan. This should tell us something about the liberal left in Canada and their disastrous foreign affairs. Seems liberals and NDP and possibly other parties to a degree want to have it both ways, support Communist states and free Democratic states. They speak with forked tongue. This has proven a disaster and has placed Canada on the watch list with our traditional allies. This situation of loving Communist countries goes back 53 years or so when PM Pierre Trudeau was the first western leader to lead Canada to officially recognize the People's Republic of China and establish diplomatic relations in 1970. It is well-known the Trudeaus had a fascination with Communist dictatorships and became personal friends with Cuba's Fidel Castro. Why Liberals at large so easily bought into this is a mystery. It may have something to do with Liberals in the 1960s feeling their oats and thinking they somehow could be the great arbitrator of the world's problems. They wholeheartedly rushed in to give all their support to the U.N. and embraced multiculturalism as the be all and end all. They continue down this path and have added progressivism into the mix and rejected our historic Judeo-Christian culture and civilization and our European roots as of any importance. It has been said that key Liberals consider Canada as a "post-national" state. Nationalism is frowned on and Canadians have even been accused of genocide without any basis at all. There seems to be an obsession by liberals (and left) with encouraging national shame for colonizing this part of north America. This liberal left thinking has had dire consequences with nation building and national defence. Canada's armed forces cannot even get people to join because of this progressivism/liberalism deeply embedded in our government departments. They have in effect declared war on our historic traditional values. They are trying to change Canada into some kind of liberal/progressive pagan culture with increasing state control of free speech, beliefs, and society in general. This article elaborates on what is happening: "Determined advocates for a progressive world view work all through government, the bureaucracy, environmental and other non-governmental organizations, academia and the media. They are not an organized cabal — a vast left-wing conspiracy, to paraphrase Hillary Clinton — but they do have overlapping agendas and share the twin convictions that a fundamental reordering of society is needed and that they know best how to achieve it. Proponents include Liberals, progressives, socialists, hard leftists and crypto- marxists who support climate alarmism, globalism, big government, stakeholder capitalism, critical race theory and wokeism. The transformation they seek is already well under way. There’s even the danger that, like the frog sitting in the slowly heating water, the rest of us may realize what has happened only after it is too late. Many environmental organizations, including Greenpeace — which the environment minister, Stephen Guilbeault, belonged to when he scaled the CN Tower — view humans’ impact on the planet as inherently destructive and bad. The declared goal of Stable Planet Alliance is “to stabilize and gradually, steadily reduce population and consumption.” One of the alliance’s members, Population Balance, draws “the connections between pronatalism, human supremacy, and ecological overshoot, and their combined devastating impacts on social, reproductive, ecological, and intergenerational justice.” Actual culling of the population may be a bridge too far, but they are certainly no fans of childbearing." 3. Even as Trudeau threatened and coerced many to take the pseudovax, which he claims most definitely works to stop covid, he's still forcing the Chinese to test. https://www.ctvnews.ca/health/coronavirus/canada-to-require-negative-covid-19-tests-for-air-travellers-coming-from-china-1.6214110 Trudeau is a racist. #StopAsianHate

  9. I don't think anything Nixon said had any bearing on what former Commie lover Pierre Trudeau did. The proof is his visits to China before 1970 when diplomatic relations were established and his love for Communist dictatorships in other countries. But you should not listen to Canadian media to find out the historical truth on Canada and China's relationship because they are fronting for the liberals and keep the truth quiet. You have to read foreign media to find out a lot of things. You seem to think Canada can have some kind of relationship with Communist dictatorships that deny human rights. That is the kind of thinking that Liberals have that got Canada into the mess. "have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness" (Communist - Fascist states that deny human rights. "In U.S. backyard: How China embedded itself in Canada" In U.S. backyard: How China embedded itself in Canada - The Sunday Guardian Live "Canada has been making headlines in India recently, and not in a good way. There were Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s statements about the farmer issue, seen in New Delhi as interference in internal affairs. And then documents were released showing that as late as 2018 Canada was allowing PLA soldiers to observe Canadian winter warfare training, seen as of use to China in its aggression against India in the Himalayas—and when the Canadian military unilaterally decided to stop the training, some in Canadian foreign affairs hit the roof." This was very recent. It seems many Canadian politicians, especially liberals and left, are out of touch with the real world.

  10. Are you denying President Nixon asked the Canadian government to do this? President Nixon also visited China and toasted Chairman Mao with many compliments. President Nixon was not a supporter of communism but his foreign policies were directed at improving relations with both China and the Soviet Union. China is no longer a communist nation, inspite of what it claims. Neither is Cuba. The reason for this change is communism doesn't work. China is now a kleptocratic dictatorship. The current Canadian government's relations with Red China are worse than at anytime since the Korean War. The hostage taking of Canadians and the stepped up level of Red Chinese espionage and political interference has led the Trudeau government to undertake a policy of moving away from China. The interaction between Prime Minister Trudeau and President Xi at their recent meeting, certainly didn't show any love. Our Prime Minister was pretty blunt to the dictator.

  12. Sadly, Constable Pierzchala, the OPP officer, is not the first to allegedly be murdered by a violent offender set free. He was murdered on Dec. 27, two days after Christmas. What has Trudeau or the Liberal justice minister said about this since then? If the matter had been a terrorist attack on a mosque with some Muslim victims, you can be sure Trudeau would have had lots to say. "Justin Trudeau’s catch-and-release policy for violent repeat offenders is responsible for the December 27, 2022, murder of Ontario Provincial Police Constable Grzegorz Pierzchala. “Needless to say, the murder of Const. Greg Pierzchala was preventable,” said OPP Commissioner Thomas Carrique. “This should have never happened. Something needs to change. Our police officers, your police officers, my police officers, the public deserve to be safeguarded against violent offenders who are charged with firearms-related offences.” Trudeau Policy Responsible for Murder of OPP Rookie (cssa-cila.org) I heard the justice minister talking about the new gun law, but I did not hear him say anything about the bail or parole system laws. Politicians of all stripes seem strangely reluctant to speak out and demand action. What is the matter with them? I think Premier Ford said something about it needs to change, but he attended the funeral or memorial service for the slain officer and that would have been a very good time, after the service to speak to the media and demand action from the Trudeau government. We hear the Trudeau government is now talking about new steps to fight climate change, something called "just transition" which should greatly concern Canadians. Whenever they come out with a catch phrase like "just transition", be concerned, very concerned. This sounds like another diversion away from the real problems with the health care system crisis, cost of living, housing crisis, and the failed justice system. They are trying to get Canadians attention away from the real issues and focused on the fake issue of climate change. It is fake because man cannot control the climate. We need to first protect Canadians from dangerous criminals who are being given the revolving door. Same thing happened in Saskatchewan in September when twelve people on the Cree Nation were stabbed to death and eighteen more injured. This was done by someone who should never have been released. Yet even last night I heard more news about some changes in the justice system in B.C. to keep aboriginals out of jail, give them more consideration for bail and release. Imagine! Just after Constable Pierzchala was murdered they have the nerve to change the system and make it even more easy to release offenders without saying a word about the serious problem of catch and release of dangerous offenders. The reason there are a larger proportion of aboriginals behind bars in the first place is because they committed more criminal acts and many are violent and dangerous offenders. But the liberal ideology is to treat them with kid gloves and release them to some kind of healing lodge or to their elders for some kind of smudging ceremony or cultural teaching to get rid of the evil spirits. It has repeatedly proven to not work. This is simply an attempt to garner votes from the masses of woke progressives who have no conscience or understanding of the real world of violent offenders.

  13. No, it doesn't. There are multiple definitions of "full employment" but NONE of them mean that "everybody has a job." There will never be a time when "everybody has a job." There is a certain amount of natural churn in even (and sometimes especially) in the healthiest labor markets. So full employment (whichever definition) usually lands around the 4-6% unemployment range. But if you are ignorant of economic terms and want to use your layman's definition, fine, have at it. By your standard, Trump wins the booby prize, with general labor force participation well under Obama and the lowest lows in 40 years or so during the pandemic. Enjoy! FRED

  14. A cop gets murdered by a repeat offender and Libbies turn this into a never ending lecture about the new religion...climate change. Our legal system is warped. Pixie-Dust and his following of assorted vegetation, think further restrictions on guns is the answer. It is not. The vast majority of gun violence is done by people we used to call "criminals". Today we coddle these former "criminals" and tell ourselves we're being understanding of the horrible and racist conditions these former "criminals" have grown up in. So...we virtue signal, let dangerous "criminals" out into public, pat ourselves on the back for being...understanding...and cops get killed, innocent citizens get killed. If Canadians really want to lower gun violence and crime in general, we would fund the police properly, take off the restrictions we've imposed, and let them go round up all the "criminals". Then we tell our limp justice system to lock these "criminals" up and throw away the key. But alas...Canada is in the grips of a little girl and her holier-than-thou following who would rather punish law abiding citizens...rather than deal with humans formerly known as "criminals".

  15. Fair enough. It was probably because you were talking about "beliefs" and it was blackbird we're talking about here, and you have spoken up for his religious beliefs before. Can you show me where I said that, or anything even remotely resembling that, or are you just making up things to argue against? I've voted Conservative in every single election (provincial and federal) for my entire life except for twice, and I would vote NDP before PP even sniffed my vote. I went to university with worms like him, and his sort of angry, ignorant populism isn't going to appeal to any of the voters he actually needs to win. He'll play great with all of the bi**chers and moaners with the F*CK TRUDEAU bumper stickers, but moderates hate him, and women hate him even more. If anyone could give Trudeau the next election, it was going to be him. Great job Conservative Party. ?

  16. Is it because they love communism, or consumerism? I’d say our policies on China are so corporations can get stuff made for cheap. That seems a lot closer to laissez faire capitalism than any love of communism. Why do you think it is the love of communism? Do you think previous Conservative governments, who had the same policies, also loved communism?

After this latest debacle, it's obvious the MAGA Republicans have no interest in governing or the good of the country, only in obstructing and blocking anything they can. So long as there are crowds of halfwits cheering them on for publicly cutting their noses off to spite their own face.

  19. My post has nothing to do with backing Blackbirds religious believes, i believe it was all about climate change, you would have known that if you read any of the post. Tree beard said something stupid and was call on out on it by me... And that tired old rag of an argument is based on facts , facts that again you did not read, becasue your not interested in facts just the argument. Go figure... You and treetrunk are using the same tired old rag of an argument when defending our nations efforts on climate change, when it has been proven 3 times now it is a failed policy( most of it is based on lies as well) ...and proven it will continue to fail...knowing that you still support this government efforts on climate change, and denounce everyone else as deniers or in blackbird case as a religious wingnut...when most will say Canadians believe in your preaching, but are not really willing to do anything about it. Now you can call that being lazy, or not giving a shit, but they are no better than black birds opinion ...it is mission imposable, no matter what Canada or the west does about climate change... Note it is call global climate change and will need a global response , not going to happen....anything else is just a dream, you and other have...

  20. What a thread drift: Mussolini and Hitler were post 1918. (Idi Amin? Huh? He died in Saudi Arabia....) ====== Michael, IMHO, this new 21st century elite is like the late 19th century elite that lead ordinary people into the disaster of 1914. These so-called experts in Washington and Brussels in 2010 remind me of the advisors in Vienna and Berlin in 1910.

  25. So much for Trudeau's new gun laws. This guy should never have been free on bail in the first place given his record. He is also Indigenous so the courts will once again take this into consideration during his trial. Gun laws are different for "regular" Canadians and indigenous people, as in, they are held to a much lower standard.

  26. This is the cognitive paradox people create for themselves. No one is making you sell your pressure Dino Juice car. All automakers are making EVs or Hybrids their priority going forward. Current battery tech is not able to replace cars. But there are plenty of innovations that will certainly be ready by 2035. But people fret that they're having their cars taken from them NOW! They aren't. I don't know why anyone who's on the market for a new car and can charge them at home wouldn't consider an EV though. Think of where Battery tech was only 5 years ago? Now new EVs can charge in 20 minutes and go more than 400 kms on a charge. Think of where the tech will be in another 5 years. But the environmental costs of building batteries pale in comparison with the whole Crude Oil industry. For every image of a Cobalt or Lithium mine I could show you a picture of the Oil Sands or Off shore Oil rigs leaking oil into an Ocean.

  27. There is no such thing as a MAGA far right loony. MAGA types work jobs and pay taxes so you can get your welfare checks every month. What we are seeing is historic human drama unfolding. At some point, McCarthy (who made his own bed by voting with Nazi Pelosi) will have to sign papers including the Freedom Caucus in pretty much every House decision, since the Freedom Caucus makes up most of America. McCarthy will have to move more to the right (towards the center) to get the acceptance of MOST OF AMERICA who basically flipped the House from the Nazis to Republicans. I look at the bright side. NONE of the members of the House are able to vote, pass any tax increases or any further encroachments on our liberty and our economy until there is a Speaker, because THEY CANNOT BE SWORN IN. America is getting a nice little break from Nazi government while Republicans get it together. I'm not surprised by this at all. Republicans are the most independent thinkers in America. Hell, we can't even agree on lunch. Democrats are goose stepping NAZIS who will fall in line at ANY funny looking leader with a mustache. Freedom and liberty are messy. We have to pay a price for our ability to live our lives without the jack boots of the DemoNazis on our throats. I'm in NO hurry to see this played out. When it IS resolved, maybe these Republicans can reverse the Obama/Biden Fourth Reich and fix our economy, as well as our leaking borders.
