  4. Wrong. The convoy took their direction from Ottawa police and worked to move out vehicles before Trudeau wanted blood and violence.

  5. It was a festival atmosphere. If they didn’t push back on mandates we’d probably still be wearing masks and running away from each other talking about case numbers and ICU’s. Daily Covid fear porn and constant media shaming of Covidiots who dared to break rules and be social.

  6. The question of democracy has only got oxygen since Trump was democratically defeated. There was no mention of voter fraud when he won. Then he loses and all the trouble started. How coincidental. The GOP have morphed into a party who are paranoid about maintaining their control over everything. The latest switch from accepting they supported a fascist takeover by Trump to labelling democrats fascists is ever they have reached the bottom. In fact, that happened in 2016 when they elected the idiot Trump. 360 million, half of them republicans and that's the best they've got. God help them.

  7. I think a better question would be: “is the USA a legitimate democracy”? The erosion of democracy is what has led to a political party like the GOP.

  9. I read this on the CBC site, and felt an immediate sense of recognition. It's talking about the UCP in Alberta, but what the author said could also be applied to conservatives everywhere. The two factions within the party simply do not speak the same political language and as has become clear during the recent leadership race, they don't speak the same social language either. In my original piece, I identified the two factions as conservatives and republicans: conservatives being aligned with traditional Canadian conservatism, republicans being aligned with the ascendant philosophy within the Republican Party in the United States. And yes. I see that in the federal party, and in other provincial parties, and most especially online. There are conservatives, as I feel I am, and then those whose viewpoints seem to have been wrenched away from traditional Canadian conservatism and into... whatever the hell the Republicans now consider proper policy. Assuming they ever develop proper policy other than owning the libs and admiring Vladimir Putin. It's not that I don't agree with their resentment and contempt for 'woke' and its anti-intellectual, anti-merit ideology of paternalistic identity politics victim worship. I don't at all mind incorporating that into my conservatism. After all, my conservatism has always been about merit and fairness, about equality and not equity. But the conspiracy nonsense is not something I or most other conservatives can ever accept. And yes, that includes their absurd Trumpian beliefs on vaccines and the proper precautions against infection. My approval of Poilievre took a radical downturn when he started mouthing these things. And I, like most conservatives, are watching him somewhat warily to ensure that was just a temporary political ploy that will fade as we get near election time. Also, having such an appalling alternative in Trudeau buys him a lot of compromise from conservatives. For now. https://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/edmonton/conservatives-alberta-united-conservative-party-annual-general-meeting-edmonton-1.6623529

  10. https://www.foxbusiness.com/politics/u-s-appeals-court-grants-injunction-temporary-blocking-bidens-student-loan-handout US appeals court temporarily blocks Biden's student loan handout The 8th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals sided with several Republican-led states For those here who do not understand this process... 1. Either private lenders or the Federal Government provides Student Loan (which personally, I would do away with in a New York minute, since all they do is make price gouging colleges rich and bid up the cost of tuition.) 2. The student has to pay that money back, maybe at graduation, certainly when the bill is due, even if the kid does not graduate. 3. Cancelling the loan means telling the lenders they will not be getting their money back. (And along those lines, the money lenders start using more aggressive underwriting techniques to limit loans to students who are honest enough to pay them back.) 4. Unelected Joe did NOT cancel those loans. He decided to use TAXPAYER MONEY (which has been borrowed so much that the taxpayers who will be funding this thing haven't been born yet) to pay those lenders back. He did this to buy votes from more idiots. 5. The 8th US Circuit Court Of Appeals has decided to block this egregious attempt to buy votes. Government paying off student loans is welfare to the rich.

  11. overthrowing the government is entirely constitutional by Westminster Parliamentary Supremacy agitating to bring down the Prime Minister is entirely lawful, a constitutional right the essence of Liberal totalitarianism is that somehow this Trudeau government is immune to being overthrown nobody is bound to fealty to a government, it rules only by the confidence of the House Margaret Thatcher after all was brought down by the Poll Tax Riots which was an actual insurrection as opposed to the Freedom Convoy, which was simply a protest

  12. Just as I thought, you HAVE NO EVIDENCE for your claims. 2000 Mules has been thoroughly debunked. Cell tower pings do NOT prove users were CLOSE, let alone ballots were dropped. ^This "impeccable" logic is JUST BULLSHIT. You got nothing but trolling.

  13. There was no thinking among the thousands of protesters of overthrowing the government. Get real. Some leaders wanted the Governor General to dissolve Parliament to throw out the PM because of constitutional breach. There was no armed or unarmed attempt to enter Parliament and remove government by force. Just stop.

  15. I'm not sure what you mean by 'overthrowing the government'. One of the spokesman for the truckers said at a news conference that they wanted to have a meeting with the opposition parties and GG about the possibilities of forming a new government. You have to understand that the liberals only have a minority government. Other then sounding a little far fetched it is not unconstitutional in my opinion. Or are you referring to something else?

Sloly was a monumental failure and it was evident after the first weekend. The testimony from others stated that. Protesters started bailing when they were told tow trucks were coming the next day. As you say, but don't seem to know "The facts are what they are".

  19. You mean when dealing with right wing tyrants, don't you? Because lefties have never had any problem at all dealing with left wing tyrants. Even today, after what we've seen of how Venezuela has been run into the ground some Canadian leftists still openly speak of their admiration for the great job they're doing. The idiots running CUPE, for example, are still in love with Venezuela and consider it a fine, upstanding example of democracy in action. History is filled with examples of the Left ignoring or embracing tyrants from the Soviet Union to China to North Korea and Vietnam. Do I even have to mention Cuba? Lots of Canadian leftists still adore Cuba. Trudeau spoke tearfully of that great humanitarian Fidel Castro when he died. So did Singh. And Trudeau, of course, admired the efficiency of China's 'basic dictatorship', clearly longing for the same here. Your team has nothing to teach anyone about standing against tyrants.

  20. Eyeball doesn’t seem to see the moral hazard of not contributing one’s efforts towards the community, to earn one’s keep. Of course we’re not talking here about those who are unable to work. The community takes care of them. The irony too is that Eyeball was in charge of workers. If there’s nothing to do for able-bodied people but show up for free drugs and food, very soon such folks won’t be able bodied. They will be addicted, weak, and dependent. This isn’t a social safety net for those who lose their jobs but are willing to work. This is how you damage people. I understand free needles to avoid spread of disease through needle sharing, antidotes to overdoses, methadone for transitioning off heroin, that kind of thing within reason. Giving people free drugs no questions asked is basically turning the state into a free crack house. It won’t end well.

  21. Well there are subtleties. For about sixty years, after Culture Revolution and its grotesque outcomes, the leadership in China was supposed to be collective and balanced. Term limits on power were imposed. One problem though: no external, independent checks. And look. Here we come, again.

  22. And what of the other ex-Warsaw pact countries do they surrender as well, do we vote them out of NATO, why has Putin drawn a line in the sand stating that Ukraine is the last straw, when many other NATO countries also border Russia. Russia, before this Ukraine war was feared by most of the world. it was thought they had a very modern military, that could fight, when in reality Ukraine has shown this to be a hollow core at best. Putin has destroyed that reputation of Russia being a world power, now it is only a nuclear menace with a mad man on the trigger. Yes, Zelensky has dropped his draws and pissed on Putin's Russia, but that is not worth destroying the planet over, nor is it an excuse for Russia to invade, which is Putin's style, well Russia style anyways.

  24. And yet you have no problem with WELFARE TO THE RICH. That's all student loans are. They allow left wing diploma mills to price gouge the public for degrees that won't get you a burger flipping job. The greed is YOUR communist/Nazi side of the aisle. My side is the folks PAYING for it.

  25. Fyi, seeing that you are not up on things, there was an election held in the Donbass region where the citizen's of the Donbass voted to join Russia willingly. Putin did not annex the Donbass by an invasion and then took over that region illegally. I support Putin because the lying and fake far left wing liberal media is against Putin. When the media attacks and mocks anyone for anything, then I will always go to the exact opposite. That is where I will then always find out as to who is really the culprit. And in my opinion, Nazi globalist puppet and corrupt Zelensky is the problem. There will be no peace in the Ukraine until he is gone. Believe it or not. So, why do you support Zelensky and why do you care as to what goes on in Ukraine? Come on, man, give me an answer and stop running away all the time. ?

  28. You could ask yourself the same question. As for me, I just find it very interesting. I've watched Putin's thuggery for 20 years, see him for the villain and despot that he is, and I wish him nothing but failure. I'm not an expert on this war, and neither are you. I subscribe to reality, however, so I have a distinct advantage in these discussions over people like you who can't stop from tripping over your own delusions. The problem with this donkey-logic is that I do read all sorts of news sources, from all over the world with all sorts of different viewpoints. The arguments, conclusions and biases that an Indian news source presents are quite different than a British one, for example. These are actual alternative news sources, in that they are different sources of actual news. What you're subscribing to is alternative reality news, in that it's just a bunch of trashcan websites with parades of bloggers, personalities and editorialists making the noises that you want to hear. ?

Inquiring minds want to know. But but but there were unmarked cars!! (Which is what FBI agents drive.) Oh, and the FBI super secretly confirmed that they were there when asked. Such an amazing secret abduction. Jeebus.

  30. 143 countries voted to condemn Russia's invasion, only five supported Russia and one of them was Russia. There has never been such a lopsided vote in the UN and if Russia didn't have veto power on the Security Council, there would be UN troops in Ukraine today. The biggest buffoon lives in your mirror.

  31. The story from the WH is that no one was left behind. Apparently a holdover from when they were a more legitimate operation. The book that he was writing was quite unflattering to the people who'd like you to believe that Biden didn't leave Americans and Afghan allies behind in Afghanistan.

  33. Illegal referendums that violate international law. I guess laws are an inconvenience for a guy who approves of the invading sovereign states and "democracy" at the point of a gun. Of course if Russia wanted a real referendum they could have asked for one presided over by the UN but the would never happen because REFERENDUMS HELD IN OCCUPIED TERRITORIES VIOLATE INTERNATIONAL LAW.

  35. That's BS. The vast majority of Canadians supported the various mandates and didn't support the truckers. The convoyers had no power to influence government because the were so out of step with the rest of Canadians. The mandates would have been lifted if those people had just stayed home. People enjoying a "festive atmosphere" that disturbs their neighbors get the cops called on them and their little party shut down.

  36. Putin's a pretty bad guy, but regardless of that fact he has every right to protect his people, and Russians can't have NATO parked on their doorstep. I don't care how many rockets Russia fires into Ukraine, this is Zelensky's war, and it's fair if his people suffer until eithet he surrenders or they remove him from office.
