  1. You're really sugar coating this stuff. The "family friend" line was false. Trudeau had no personal interaction with this close family friend of his for 30 years, until, coincidentally I’m sure, he became the leader of the Liberal Party of Canada. Except for his father’s funeral in 2000, the last time before 2013 Trudeau saw the Aga Khan was when he, as a 12-year-old boy, accompanied his father, then-prime minister Pierre Trudeau, on a family vacation in Greece. Yet after one encounter in 30 years, Trudeau and his good buddy holidayed together thrice in two years — once as Liberal leader in 2014, and twice as prime minister in 2016, when the ethical lapses occurred. It’s undeniable that the Aga Khan, whose foundation has received more than $300 million in Canadian government money since the 1980s, has a business relationship with Canada that is relevant to the prime minister’s work. Even if they were genuinely friends, that’s all the more reason to clear the trip through Canada’s ethics channels. As for the groping incident. The allegation was in fact very credible. In 2018, a newspaper piece from 2000 emerged: A reporter alleged that Trudeau, who was 28 at the time, was at the Kokanee Summit in Creston, B.C., raising money for a charity. An editorial in the local paper said Trudeau was accused of “groping” and “inappropriately handling” a female reporter during the event. Reached by CBC in 2018, the woman said “The incident referred to in the editorial did occur, as reported. Mr. Trudeau did apologize the next day. I did not pursue the incident at the time and will not be pursuing the incident further. I have had no subsequent contact with Mr. Trudeau, before or after he became Prime Minister.” SNC Lavalin. 2. Your discussing housing crisis with people who think Trudeau personally decides what you can have for breakfast? Don't waste your time pointing out facts. They all seem to have slept through Social Studies 10 and have no idea how Parliamentary democracy works or what a PM can and can't and does do. So long as they can post some meaningless Trudeau hate comment on the Internet you can think of it like Stephen Harper did, let his lunatic fringe blow off steam with unconstitutional daily Crime Bills while he got on with running the government.

  3. As I said, like it or not. But in terms of experience, Trudeau does not compare to Trump, because he has none. What I don’t like is someone who leads us on non-issues while failing on the ones that matter, because his focus is on his pet projects, wokism and massive reform without consideration of the effects it has to those caught in the transition. But hey, you people who are completely comfortable, please carry on...

  4. Climate deniers in 2022 are either blind and deaf (not dumb - that means can't speak and they do nothing but bellow at the top of their lungs) or willfully ignorant. Quoting a 3% disagree figure from 20 years ago, scouring the dregs of the Internet or simply making up things to seem like they know more than dick shit. I'm sure they could dig up facts that prove gravity is a lie or a conspiracy if the Illuminati given enough time. And it's not Jobs OR the Environment. I heard that shit 50 years ago and too many of us listened. There is no black OR white, night OR day, good OR bad. It's only the hard core Can'tservative that claims 90% effective is no good because it's not 100% so we shouldn't try at all.

  5. Leave the keys on the bankers desk and drive away out of town. That's what a couple friends did when Mackenzie collapsed in the 1980s. 3 kids and everything you could fit into or strap onto a Ford Escort and off to Vancouver. Those 18% mortgages were a bitch. Both of us had full time union jobs and didn't have two nickels left to rub together. No furniture - people had to bring their own chairs to our first house warming party. Futon on the bedroom floor, Sally Ann kitchen table.... no one will do that these days. They want it all, right now.

  7. Sometimes consensus has nothing to do with science but this isn't one of those times. I think how long a vast bunch persists in believing something has a bearing on it. Is there no time component to the determination of when agreement is appropriate for action? His persecutors knew that too once they saw his evidence, and the consensus was strong that he had to be kept quiet to protect the vested interest they had in the status quo. If you've seen one deliberate denier you've seen them all.

  8. You sound like you're getting impatient with JT as well, Boges. Why don't you liberals admit it, you don't like what you see either. Come clean for once. This man is an incompetent jackass, and jackass is the best word for him. By that I mean, one who is both naive and flippant. Callous, arrogant, and a liar. But he's also dangerous because he is such an empowered jackass. I can give policy reasons, it hardly matters. Like someone recently said leadership is not a political party or even a platform, it's an individual with attitude and vision. I would even take another Liberal as PM over JT. It's not that I oppose liberalism carte-blanche. Canada is a liberal country and I have felt proud of it in the past, but not since JT took over. His mission is to bring shame on Canada, to make Canadians feel ashamed of their country. In order to make Canada a post-national state, you have to kill the culture. To do that you have to make young Canadians hate the country. Hate its history, hate the great people of its past, by telling deceptive half-truths, and by using his bully pulpit and big spending to send out that divisive message across the country. Trudeau is in fact a hate-mongerer, which is entirely un-Canadian, making him the most un-Canadian prime minister of all time.

  10. And don't get me wrong. I don't particularly like Trudeau either. Though make harsh value judgements about the type of person that puts a "Fuck Trudeau" sticker on their Truck. Trudeau has won three elections in a row. Last two he's lost the popular vote, but that's mostly due to voting saturation out West. A Riding won with 80% of the vote is still only worth one seat. My question is. What is your long-game here? Are you satisfied being on the fringe? I'll give Erin O'Toole credit, he tried to make the CPC more appealing to the masses, then he got kicked out. PP only proves to further that polarization. PP has no hope of winning the 905. Those are the seats that tilt any Federal campaign into one column or the other.

  12. I'm sure immigration has a role to play, but I think it is much larger than all of that. the restricting of owning private property goes against the western dream and how our economy works. If you can afford it why not have more than one of anything.

  13. No need for garbage here. I think it’s fair to say you trust and put faith in government. I do not. To me government is a necessary evil that needs to be carefully controlled to actually be useful. This is from experience, not theories.

  15. OMG. What are you going on about? Buying land?? Who? Where? Have you ever been out of your basement to see what is really going on in the world. What the rest of the world looks like?? I think not judging by your comments. We are talking eco systems damage and failures in the Netherlands.. You really need to get your head on straight and find out the ecological damage being done over there. https://www.indexmundi.com/netherlands/environment_current_issues.html All stores had online offerings. The rise of food deliveries kept many restaurants in business. You are such a drama queen LOL

  16. Lol there it is.. if you don't obey blindly something really really really bad will happen.. So basically get it from a select few who are buying up all the land? That's a crisis in and of itself. No they made a killing during covid because they were the only ones allowed to operate. Everyone else was mandated to close shop

  17. The personal responsibility you're willing to assume doesn't matter - it's the liability that is assigned to you that does, probably by the Supreme Court for the most part. Ignoring your responsibility for doing anything to protect yourself from future liability seems dumb. You mentioned culpability in the context of one's own misfortune so surely you can understand what I'm getting at.

  20. Not jumping around at all.. the same scare tactics are being used, a hard power play, to destroy small scale farming and hand it over to multinationals. We saw previous governments do that here where they'd create legislation to land on the side of the big multinational Corp, ie Cargill, which made it easy for them to sue small scale farmers for something as small as seed blowing on to someone else's field. We saw it with the systematic destruction of small business during covid while Amazon and others brought in record profit. Netherlands is doing the same, hiding behind environmental excuses. When the food supply is destroyed, they'll Blame climate change... got it? Now you are gullible enough to buy the propaganda. In the end its corporations and government working together to screw over the little guy.

  21. An interesting thing happened.Just walk away and get foreclosed. At the time, there was no down payments legislated or required. Banks just gave you the money. The developers wanted to sell homes so bad they offered no down payment and 5 appliances to you for you to buy. When it got real bad, there were People that would come up to you and say, we will buy your house for a $1. Then you would pay the new owner rent. The people that bought the house stopped making payments. The bank began foreclosure action and it would take up to 18 months and then they would let the banks take the house. https://archive.macleans.ca/article/1983/9/12/when-homes-sell-for-1

  24. The same happened with Covid. Our government’s response to Covid caused more problems than Covid. Workplace absence epidemics due to outdated quarantine and screening rules. Supply chain slowdowns due to lockdowns, quarantines, and absenteeism. Flight delays and cancellations due to the issues above and the ArriveCan vax pass. The destruction of stabilizing institutions: family, church, temple, mosque. Crippling impacts on social-emotional well-being and mental health due to isolation and constant fear-mongering. The population is weakened and vulnerable. Once Covid waned as a real health problem, it became about Ukraine and climate change. If they can’t get the crop failures and food shortages through climate change they’ll engineer them in the name of fighting climate change then blame climate change for the shortages.

  25. The climate plan is the biggest scam we've ever seen. They claim they are "saving the environment". In reality you have oligarchs like Bill Gates buying up all the farm land as the government does everything in their power to destroy the family farm. Basically using the climate hoax to screw over the middle class. The most disgusting thing of it all is they pretend like they are your savior while doing it.
    1 point
  26. I don't believe that's happening. What is happening is that politicians and the WEF affiliated bums are trying to create food shortages (a crisis) so they can blame on "climate change" or something dumb and use that as justification for more control. The gullible go along with it. And yes you can protest so long as you don't have "unacceptable views".

  28. Well said. Trudeau and Ford were not equipped to deal with these things, no one could be. But despite their ideological differences, they were focused on a goal and knew that the smart people behind the scenes were giving them the best advice they could. Part of this recent trend of putting everything on the leader reflects a lack of public understanding of how many smart people work on these things. It could always be much better, but look at other jurisdictions to see that it could be much worse.

  29. like I say it's not a pro-environment stance it's an anti-human stance this is the common denominator in cougar's immigration and environmental policies cougar just hates people and wants to punish them for existing and thriving then comes up with policy changes that impede their ability to do that cloaking that agenda by using nicer sounding buzzwords when trying to sell it to the rubes but at the end of the day cougar is just a misanthropic Malthusian who seeks to use the government as a weapon against the people he hates whose politics are driven by envy and resentment

  32. A government is more than one person. It was the government that put together the all party team, including Provincial governments, to mitigate the Americans assault on NAFTA. It was the government and all parties, that managed the response to a deadly pandemic that saved tens of thousands of lives in Canada while the US suffered the greatest catastrophe in their history. Mr. O'Toole would have formed a government that would have performed a bit better, but we have to give credit where credit is due. And who is the Social Credit candidate for the CPC leadership? Pierre Poillievre. Anyone who has lived under Social Credit knows it for what it is. It is the downfall of the Conservative party and free enterprise.

  33. Anyway what would Mr. Trudeau even know about being Canadian? Having lived in a ivory tower all his life, protected, never having to face the challenges of life of ordinary citizens. Far more removed than his father. He is the quintessential rich man's son, pampered, elitist, and terribly naive. Then he inherits the company and wrecks it in a mere few years. We've seen this story played out enough times already to know how it goes.

  39. What's your opinion? Is the Canadian system of parliamentarism better or worse than the American system of strong presidential power? In the American system you can't remove the President in the middle of the term unless you can claim that he has broken the law and that is a complicated process. In the Canadian system and in every parliamentary system you can remove the PM if he is useless and you believe someone else can do a better job.

  40. The ethics violation was a visit to the head of one of the world's great religious movements who was also a family friend. The blackface incidents occurred before that activity was seen as an offence. I too, wore black make-up in a school play. There was no groping incident, just an unfounded accusation made by a reporter, which the alleged victim firmly denied. If you want a real scandal ridden government, just cast your mind back to Mike Pearson's government when there were five separate scandals going on at the same time or the 1925 customs scandal. There are valid criticisms that can be directed the policies of the government but the stuff like the trumped up stuff in the passage I quoted is pitiful.
